It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.
It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.
So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.
I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.
Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.
I may or may not like this. It is after all about incest. I don't care if they are from different mother/father. As far as I am concern, once you are siblings either by marriage or something else, that is incest. They are incest anime that I can't get enough of like Yasuga no Sora and then there's anime incest that I fucking hate like Aki Sora. So let see where would Brothers Conflict be.

Err yeah, after watching the episode, I still have no idea what to think about this show. I have expected some brotherly love that goes beyond the blood but when I saw it happening, especially with Kaname, I was grossed out. Then I was trolled with the twincest which made me somewhat mad. The fujoshi in me wants them to be together but we all know that both of the twin will eventually fall for Chii, just like the rest of them brothers.
Fuck. I hate Chii.
Well, maybe not. Maybe I'm just envious of her. I want to stay at a place full of males too. Wait... LOL what am I saying. I have been surrounded by males all my life!
So yeah, I hate her and her pet Juli.
The males are definitely pleasing on the eyes. They picked one hell of a cast for the seiyuus and if there's any reason why I would continue watching this show, it's because of them seiyuus.
Overall, it was okay. I just let my biased opinion gets in the way :P

I quickly judged that this show cannot deliver what it promised based on the studio and the plot that I read from the preview. However, I heard a lot of good things been said about this show on twitter so I guess I was wrong?
So naturally I'm looking forward to check this out.

Well, the start of the show is definitely intriguing. You don't get to see that everyday. But it quickly goes down hill from there. The plot isn't actually original. How many times have we read/watch something similar where they gathered bunch of kids in one place and forced them to kill each other in order to survive, in this case, get out of the school.
The characters are not really special either. I feel like the anime is mocking me with the character designs. Some of the personalities are OK I guess but just take a look at the protagonist for example. He's weak as fuck and it is really annoying. One of the guy, the most meaty one at that, wears a girl's uniform. Just what the hell? Is this anime supposed to be funny or serious? It can't be both at the same time. Sadly though it seems like the studio can't decide to be which and just go with it.
Urgh I'm still mad that they chose someone that weak to be the protagonist.
Let's just hope that shit will get better with the upcoming episode. I'm sure one of them will snap and kill. Maybe then this show will appeal to me. You know, blood and all.

In the preview, I already put this show in my anishit list. The kind of comedy portrayed in the synopsis is never really what I look for in anime. So I'm gonna watch this with that knowledge in mind and perhaps I will be biased towards this shit. I do hope that they managed to prove me wrong though just so that I can feel that joy of watching anime with good honest humor.

And guess what, it is rare that an animu can proved me wrong. This show however, did it. The start of the first episode already grabbed my attention with the blood and killing and what not. Then comes the characters who look so badass and then so normal few minutes later but the transition was smooth and was explained in quite satisfactory details that it suddenly made sense.
Maou and his servant Ashiya are demons. Maou is the Lord Satan. They were forced to retreat by Hero Emi and swear to seek revenge. When Maou opened the portal, it somewhat brought them to Japan and their badass personas were gone, replaced by human-like form. Well at least Maou looks like a delicious shouta so you won't hear me complaining about that XD
I like the fact that the show showed how they tried to get used to this world. The foreign language made me LOL and from then on, it was good all over.
Having said that, I'm not sure about Hero Emi just yet. I hope she won't ruined this show too much.
I am glad I decided to check out all the anime before dismissing it. It's when you enjoy a show that you have no hopes or expectations for that made all the difference.
This show is getting an upgrade. It is no longer in the anishit list.

This show is produced by Production I.G. That is enough reason for me to check this out. Besides, reading the synopsis at MAL, it seems like the kind of shows that Production I.G. is good at producing so this ought to be somewhat satisfying. Well, at least I hope so.

I know of this series through the manga. The manga is full of bishies so naturally as a fujoshi it quickly becomes one of my favorite manga to read until the day came when I stopped reading manga because I was too busy. So somewhat the series was forgotten. So I'm glad that they decided to make an anime out of it!

Well, that feeling of glad doesn't lasted very long. Half way through the first episode I was at lost. I blame it all on myself because I cannot remember anything that I've read from the manga. The only thing I remember are the characters and Circus. Other than that, nada.
So, I feel a little bit disappointed at the show as well at myself. I have high expectation for this show but it didn't satisfy me at all. Having said that I am still gonna watch this. I am sure that it can only get better from here onwards.
By the way, Gareki is my favorite character when I read the manga. I remember him being more aloof in the manga though.
That's about all I can say from watching this first episode of Karneval. Not much, huh? Not even a rant.

I'm checking all these stupid shows so that you don't have to. Aren't I nice or aren't I nice? But in all honesty, I don't think this show is going to be bad if they managed to get the comedy to be actually funny for a change. So I'm crossing my finger and hope that it will manage to make me laugh at least once.

Binbougami ga! is about Mimoji who is the God of Misfortune and Ichiko, the girl with all the fortune in the world. Ichiko is causing inbalance to the world so Mimoji was sent to set things right. It was fun in the beginning, where Mimoji just said whatever the fuck she wanted but then when Ichiko was introduced, I lost any interest with the show. She was annoying.
As I thought, I won't be watching this show either. It is just too stupid for me and the joke ain't funny either. Most of them were overused. I stuck to the end of the episode waiting for Hiro's character to made an appearance but he never did which mean I just have to watch the second episode. Damn it.
I guess I'll watch until episode 2 and see how it goes. Jeebus I'm such a seiyuu fag.
edit: I've watched the 2nd episode and still no Hiro. I feel cheated. Fuck this I'm dropping this shit.
I didn’t know what to expect about Jormungand and glad that
I didn’t put an effort to find out. This show surprises me in a good way.
Jormungand is pretty much about Jonah, a kid soldier who
hates weapon but is dependent of them, and Koko, an arm dealers which a bunch
of skilled people around her to get the job done. Though Jinah hates weapons
(because it killed his parents), he chose to travel with Koko and the others
and be service of her.

The other characters look too bland in my opinion including
Koko except for Jonah. It must have something to do with the contrast of his
tanned skin, white hair and bloodshot eyes. He’s pretty memorable as a
character. The animation on the other hand was pretty average but I’m not
complaining too much because I get what I want: BLOOD.
This is a short first impression because I don’t have much
to say about it. Jormungand delivers the craziness of Koko and complimented her
with an awesome set of skilled crew that will definitely entertain us along the
way.
But let’s not forget that this show is ultimately about
Jonah’s journey of finding his inner peace.
My first thought when I saw the first few second of this anime is... WHAT THE HELL IS THIS ANIMATION? So yeah, it wasn't a good first impression at all. The animation was worse than Blassreiter, if you guys still remember that shit. I don't know what the hell Studio Peirrot was thinking. This is clearly not how anime supposed to be done.
And then I heard the voice of the main shouta who this story of Kingdom is based on. I knew right away Morita Masakazu is his seiyuu because Xin has Ichigo's voice. I dunno why this disturbed me but it does. I feel all weird hearing Ichigo's voice in other character. My brain just can't compute but somehow it make sense because Ichigo Morita's voice is somewhat perfect for rebellious shounen character. Argh shit my brain can't compute...
Somehow I have always feel like Morita is exclusively Ichigo... >_>
I was ready to drop this show but the voice of Ichigo prevented me from doing so which is a good thing in hindsight because I ended up enjoying this preview episode of 50 minutes quite a bit. Surprisingly so.
Kingdom is about a kid named Xin who is a slave. He has a best friend named Piao who looks exactly like the King. Since the kingdom is in the state of upheaval, Piao was called forth of the palace to be the dummy and he got killed. Piao managed to go back to Xin though and tell him to go to a village full of murderers where Xin found the young King who looks like Piao.
I'm guessing Xin will take care of that young King from now on.
It's a typical shounen show but since I am a sucker for shounen, I found it entertaining despite the hideous art and animation. Will I continue watching this? Most likely.
My advice, if you are not a big fan of shounen, best not to watch this at all or it could give you eye cancer.

I didn't pay any attention to Sankarea until Glo got mad at me in my preview for Spring anime, which consequently reminds me of his spasm post about the manga. Thanks to him, at least I get a basic idea of what this show s all about. Well, I really hope it is as good as he says it is. I said this because in MAL, it clearly says that this one falls under the ecchi category as well. As you all may know by now, ecchi and klux doesn't mixed too well.

The first thing that I notice about this show is the male protagonist's hair. For some reason, it really bothers me that his hair looks like neko ears. I wonder what kind of OCD I have for it to bothers me this much...
Anyhoo, Chihiro Furuya is a kid who is obsessed with zombies. He is like our otaku who is obsessed with 2D female characters and wish he could meet/marry one someday. It turns out that God is kind to him for he got his wish granted when he met Rea Sanka (get it?) during one of his zombie worshiping ritual to resurrect his dead cat Babu. Oh did I mention that Furuya has a female cousin whose name is Wanko? lols
I foresee a love triangle in the making >_>
And I must say that I don't like Rea much. She wasn't actually a zombie when Furuya first saw/met her. She was just an ungrateful brat who whines inside a well. She lets her dad took nude photo of her every year for her birthday... so yeah... Also, she keeps shoving her boobies in front of Furuya's face. What about that?
I do like Wanko though.
Rea offered to help Furuya with the resurrection potion. Since she is willing to do anything just so Furuya would keep her secrets, then Furuya asked her to be his guinea pig. I'm sure he'll be successful with it and used it to resurrect her too otherwise there won't be a show.
Thankfully there is hardly any ecchi that appalled me so I managed to at least enjoyed the episode without raging too much. Studio DEEN did good with the overall quality of the animation and art. Same goes for the seiyuu. As I am not exactly an expert about music, I just find the OP rather annoying. Or maybe I just like ballad song better which explains why I find the ED quite soothing for my ears.
So in the end, Sankarea wasn't bad at all though I wish we could see a little more details on Rea's innards at the end of the episode. The humor should be improved though. I hardly laugh at all throughout the episode. I did smile when Mero was introduced though. She's so moe - wait, what klux?

When I first watched the OVA, I thought to myself... what was it about this shit that Glo was raving so much about? But once I saw the first episode, I finally understood what he meant, but part of the majority reason why I like this show so much is because of Mikazuki Yozora. I'll talk about her in details later. Wait, I actually has wrote what I think of her in my first impression post so yeah, won't repeat the same shit again.

First of all, Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, or Haganai for short touches on matters that I can relate to. Just like these characters, I am not good at making new friends. I can talk to strangers if the situation requires it, because it's part of my job, but to call someone a friend takes more than an exchange of smiles. I wish people understand this and stop forcing themselves upon my space.
Haganai characters all have unique trait about them which made them socially inept. Thanks to Yozora who created the club (even though her reason to do so was totally selfish) and also Kodaka (who most of the reason why the other decided to join), they got together. They were so n00bs at making friends, they don't even realized that they are friends now, and always in denial about that fact. At the club, they do whatever shit that they want and once in a while they did something together to experience what the masses experienced, like going to swimming pool together in the summer or did some karaoke.
Most of the time it was seemingly one plot-less episode after the other but in the midst of all that, the core of the story is ultimately about two childhood friends reuniting after ten years. There were also romance in the air (but of course there is, it's a harem after all). Needless to say, I'm pro-Yozora.
Speaking of characters, they are definitely one lively bunch:

We have Yozora Mikazuki , the awesome leader or head of the club and the reason why we have this show. She's brilliant and witty and doesn't give a shit if she's different. I like that a lot because she's reminding me of me. Her most memorable dialogue is from episode 3. Of course she was referring to Sena.
You damn perverted! Silence wench! You succubus! Flasher! Bitch! Walking cum dumpster! Real dutch wife! Walking porn scene! Don't come near me! Don't touch me! You'll make me pregnant!
Kodaka Hasegawa, the required male protagonist, because after all this is a harem. I like him though and I can understand why the ladies are attracted to him. He is a gentleman in his own way though a bit disturbing that he didn't get a b0nar for seeing Kobato/Sena naked. I wonder if he's gay and didn't know it.
Sena Kashiwazaki or better known as Mikku or Meat which I think fits her perfectly. She's okay as a character and a great comedic relief whenever Yozora making fun of her. Other than that, especially when she starts blushing for Kodaka just annoyed the fuck out of me. I wish she would just play her yuri game in a corner while the others pretend that she didn't exist.
Yukimura Kusunoki is the honorable trap. I think they was hoping he'll be as popular as Hideyoshi but BITCH PLEASE, no trap can beat Hideyoshi. He is in his own category. I think Yukimura character was a waste. If only they played their card right - by reminding us that he actually has a dick all the time - then he would have been more entertaining than just a mere underling for Kodaka.
Rika Shuguma is a genius and a total pervert. I didn't like her much at first but as the show progressed, I find myself looking forward to her random outburst. She pride herself for being a pervert and find any situation as a turn on. That was a talent that I wish I had LOL
Kobato Hasegawa is Kodaka's sister who literally lives her life by cosplaying as some vampire character. I kinda feel for her for having no real identity. She'll have a hard time growing up, I'm sure. Also, she's terrified of Sena.
Maria Takayama is a 10 year old kid who became the club's adviser after being tricked by Yozora. I found her annoying because she reminds me of Index. She and Kobato are constantly fight for Kodaka's affection. In other words, Kobato has a brother complex.
Ryohei Kimura is definitely one of the seiyuu in 2011 that I took notice of and he did a great job as Kodaka. I don't usually sing praises for the female seiyuu because 99% of the time, I don't give a shit about female characters. However, I like to do so for Marina Inoue (Yozora) and Misato Fukuen (Rika) for making me enjoying their characters the most. Their deliverance for their dialogue are in my opinion, crucial to ensure that the comedy doesn't fail and they didn't miss a beat. Misato definitely embodied Rika's character as a pervert and make her so damn believable and likeable at the same time.
Unfortunately I am not a fan of either the OP or the ED. They weren't bad, not just my cup of tea. Both were average at best but fits perfectly for the show. If you are a fan of upbeat songs, it might be just right for you. But again, praises for the seiyuu because they didn't sound bad at all singing those lines. The BGM however was... unmemorable because I seriously can't remember any of it at the moment. The insert song in the last episode was okay but unless I hear it repeatedly, it won't have a slot in my brain either.
The art for Haganai is memorable. Even though there is nothing special about it, the details are exceptional. I like how the characters are drawn and they can certainly look cute if they tried. I thought AIC did a great job at capturing all the characteristic of each character design, especially Kodaka's hair color. Same goes for the animation. The quality was consistent from episode 1 to end. Solid work guys. Well done (p/s: I can do without the fanservice though).
Haganai is surprisingly quite an entertaining anime. I said so because I am not someone who usually enjoy a harem anime. In factm I usually ignored/dropped/rage at such anime. For me to say anything good about this show means that Haganai did something right and thus it exceeded my expectation. So this means that I might just recommend this show for you guys if you like harem comedy without the romance.
Since the show ended without any real progress between Kodaka and either two of the female protagonists Yozora, I expect a second season. I truly want to find out how these two further developed their relationship now that both has remember the past.

When I first saw this anime on Animax, I was sceptical. I didn't follow it through. The second time they showed it, I thought, why the hell not since there are no other anime worth watching on that channel anyway since I've seen most of it.
Oh boy I was in for a surprised. It turned out to be quite a saga for me.
D'eon De Beaumont (c) gesshi
The creator, Tow Ubakata took the concept of the real Chevalier D'Eon who was discovered to be a man upon his death and turned it into a fantasy action novel that involved 'poet' and spells. Ubakata managed to retain the facts of the actual person history in the midst of supernatural flick that he created. I was impressed.
The story is about D'Eon de Beaumont who was set out to find the truth behind his sister's death/murder, Lia de Beaumont. The restless soul of her sister used his body as a vessel to seek revenge. He with three other friends become spies for French King, Louis IV. His majesty order is to regain the Royal Psalm and bring it back to Versailles. Along the way, he learned the truth about everything that makes him question his loyalty to the country.
In order to fully understand what is going on, you need to pay attention to the heavy dialogue, especially when it comes to the psalm which wasn't fully explained till the end. It was rather slow-paced in the beginning since it takes a while to get going but kicked ass when it does. The story is full of unexpected twists that will keep you on the edge till the end. Just brace yourself for the climax. There are some heartfelt moments in it too that makes watching this oh so worth it.
It took me a while to get fully acquainted with the characters because there are many with complicated names to boot. But I get the hang of it soon enough. Durand, Robin and Teillagory are the three friends that accompany D'Eon on his mission. The viewers will soon introduced to other characters like Maximilien Robespierre, an acquaintance of Lia and King Louis IV. I am rather fond of the sub-characters if compared to D'Eon. Apart from his love to his country and the people around him, D'Eon is pretty blah. Durand, Robin and Maximilien are my favorites due to their interesting characters. They gave out a sense complexity and mysteriousness.
I didn't know this series was produced by Production I.G, the same production studio that produced Ghost In The Shell until the third episodes when I did some research on the real D'Eon. So obviously, there are little faults to be found in the animation. They have done their research for the building, setting and characters designs which turned out to be very detailed, and managed to capture the feeling of monarchy. The swordfights are clean, swift and brutal, as expected of the knights in that era.
I like the OP and ED but I won't say that they are my favorites. I should say that the rich orchestral background music plays a role in this anime too. It further enhanced the atmosphere and added the element of suspense and drama. It was to be expected since it is from Michiru Ooshima, the same man that is responsible for Fullmetal Alchemist. I couldn't find any flaws with the voice acting either so they must have done a good job. Surprisingly, even the dubbed version is not that bad.
I really enjoyed watching this series and have no qualm what so ever to rewatch it. If you like to watch something with unique plot, this is definitely the one you should put on the list. However if you are those people who watch anime for the action or moe-ness, forget it. You'll be thoroughly disappointed.
The most anticipated anime of the season. At least for me it is. I just love the goodness from the first season and Matsuri and here hoping the comedy will pick from where they left of. Such high hope I have for this one since most of the other summer anime I've seen so far was a let down :(
The new season jumps straight to beach episode. If it's any other show, it would have us raising our eyebrows skeptically but since this is Baka to Test, it just feels right. Most of the comedy centered around nosebleed (oh the glorious scene of more nosebleed!), swimsuits and Tsuchiya who may have found his person. That's all I'm going to say.
Words won't do justice of the episode so I'm not going to explain in details of the episode. As for the overall story, it has plenty I am sure but it will pretty much be more or less in the same format as the first season. I said that such repetition is not such a good thing for The World God Only Knows II but I think it is perfect for a show like Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu because it is one of it's strongest points. Top it off with excellent casts/characters, the show has all the ingredient to make it into an anime made of WIN.

Ah it feels good to watch something that is engaging. It's like taking a breath of fresh air. I've been watching crap anime in a row so I welcome the brilliantly executed comedy in Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu Ni! The transition of humors is flawless. The humors don't feel force at all and it what differentiates this show to the likes of R-15, for example.
This is definitely the must watch show of the season. For those who can't watch this because they haven't watch the first season yet (looks at Bass and T-Razor), they are missing shit loads of greatness.

Baka to test to Shoukanjuu Chi is probably one of the few shows that I look forward to for the Summer 2011 season. There is no doubt that the characters are dumb but that in actuality made this show so brilliantly funny and random. Yes, random. Just like Gintama kind of random. That is enough indication on how awesome this show is.
However, I see some people who doesn't even going to give this show a try. They missed out on the first season (that was aired in Winter 2009) and quickly brushed off the second season. So here I am writing this post to convince people like Bass and TRazor. Make yourself a favor and quickly watch the first season now.
Not only we have Yoshii, the most dumb protagonist in the history of anime (more or less, I didn't check stat) that will not get on your nerves, we also have Hideyoshi, a trap male character that is so feminine in appearance that you can't help but what to finger his prostate. He's not your typical trap either which just make you succumb to his charm even more. Then we have Kouta, the voyeur that provides blood for the most part. The dedication he showed is something we all must admire. Then we have the OTP Yuuji and Kirishima that is so made of win, you can't help but want it to happen XD
If that's not enough, we have bloodfest in EVERY FUCKING EPISODE!
So before you made up your mind about this show, ask yourself this question. Would you want to miss out on something that can make you laugh? Do you still want to brush it off after reading how convincingly epic this post is?
If you said yes, you are obviously mental and all the more reason why you should watch Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu.

I have high hopes for Fractale but with each passing episodes, I feel the hopes dwindling to nothingness. The only reason I watched from week to week was because of Sunda but they fucking killed him in the last episodes.
Everyone, meet the late Sunda and Enri Granitz
The story itself was what made this show lacking. It evolved around Phryne, Clain and Nessa and it shouldn't be so. Phryne and Nessa are the key to reboot the Fractale system. If Phryne didn't ran away and be a jackass about it, people won't have to die unnecessarily. Though she is (literally) a slut it is still no excuse for her to be so fickle about every damn thing. If she agreed from the very beginning to be the key and didn't change her mind every god damn 4 seconds, then the Temple will not declare wars on Lost Millenium (they are the one who are against the Fractale System - but not really). Sunda and Dias wouldn't have died.
As you can see, I'm very pissed right now and rightfully so. I am filled with rage when Clain ended up having a happily ever after ending with Phryne (with Nessa's personality). Damn these kids.
I can't believe I said some really nice things about her in my first impression post. 10 episodes later I have nothing but hate for her.
Characters wise, they are not lacking in term of personalities (except for the plain Clain). The character designs also helped built each characters' personalities while the voice actors compliment those characters, giving them souls. Thanks to her splendid performance as Nessa, I think I am a fan of Kana Hanazawa now. Credits for Yu Kobayashi as well for her job well done as Clain though I still wonder why didn't they pick a guy for the job.
The OP/ED, BGM and sound effects for this show is highly commendable. Both the OP and ED are sang by Hitomi Azuma. There are three songs featured in the single CD titled Harinezumi but I never heard the other one. Like I said, towards the end of the show, the OP grew on me and I can even sing along to it. Having said that, my favorite remains with the ED despite the poor Engrish pronunciation.
If there is one thing that blow me away regarding this show, it's the art and animation of the whole thing. I mentioned this several time during in episodicreviews. A-1 Pictures is really good at delivering these sort of stuff. Some of the scenes looks like they came from a beautiful painting, and the camera angle for certain scenes really stood out. Kudos to the animation production team. It was splendid.
But sadly, for a show that is featured in noitaminA, it certainly didn't live up to expectation. I am not entirely sure whose fault is it but if the story didn't evolved around Phryne, it could have ended up as a fabulous show. This show pretended to be deep when it's not. Yamakan totally lost the plot. I rage at how conceded it turned out to be.

I've seen a lot of first thoughts in the anime blogsphere about this anime. Since I want to avoid spoilers, I didn't check them out. So this anime has potential to be either really good are just really bad otherwise people won't be raging about it like they did.
Many have compared this to Power Puff Girls and for good reason. Allowed me to say that I really don't like the art and animation. It might be an eye candy with all those vibrant colors and what not but my dislike stems from the fact that this is too westernized. If I want to see something like this, I just have to switch on the Cartoon Network. I hope that in the coming future, there will be no more emulating the western cartoon theme. I like anime because of the Japanese quality to it. This is just... *rejects*
But lets not get too negative with my review. I have only seen the first 5 minutes of the episode after all. Though let me make it clear that every sound that I heard so far really annoyed me to hell. Yes, even the seiyuus. Especially the seiyuus. The dog, Chuck, in particular really gets on my nerves. The sound effects too are just too over-the-top. I understand why they intentionally did that but it will just keep me irritated from start to finish. What the hell is with the OP anyway? Panty stocking panty stocking chant? *facepalm*
The ED on the other hand is good, but yet again, very westernized.
Now lets talk about what this show is all about. I don't even know where the fuck to begin. I feel like the show just insulted my intelligent. Their first episode is about a poop monster? Way to market your product. Anyway, Panty and Stocking are pretty much like Blossom, Bubble and Buttercup. They have superpower or something. But they aren't made from sugar, spice and everything nice. In fact, it's on the contrary. Panty is a whore and Stocking who is a Gothic chic have an obsession with sugar. They live with Garterbelt, a black priest who has the same role as the Professor in Power Puff Girls. I assumed every week they will have a different monster/enemy pop up. The girls mission is to collect the Heaven coin. I am still not clear for what but y guess is since they are both pretty much bad girls, they are buying their way to the heaven. I wonder if this show will have a Mojo Jojo too. Yep, it feels like this is a parody of that ever so popular American show for kids. But instead of for kids, I think this show targeted to the more matured audience.

I guess all those virgin otakus and lolicon out there will fap every time Panty and Stocking transform. They pretty much did a pole dancing with really sexually arousing movements. Panty by the way, will fight the enemy panty-less. Why? Because she will take off her pantsu and turned it into a pistol. Same goes to Stocking but instead of pantsu, she used, you guessed it, stocking hence their names. Like I said, I feel like I have been insulted.
Each story last around 15 minutes or so which mean in one episode there will be two different stories. Sounds familiar? This is how the western dudes and duddettes used to do it too.
Despite the rant, Panty and Stocking are interesting characters. Panty is so morally unethical. She fucked every good looking guys she laid her eyes on and pretty much ride them until they are spent. She cursed a lot and fuck is probably her favorite words, unsurprisingly. Stocking on the other hand is more calm and collected. Her weapon is a sword so that naturally have me rooted for her.
All I can say is Gainax definitely gives everything they got, the bad and the good. You can either love this or hate it. Either way Gainax has managed to make people talking about how ridiculously outlandish this show is. I am not sure whether or not I want to see more of it though. It will probably depends on whether or not I want a mindfuck. That's not really a bad thing.

I really don't want to see this but have seen some good reviews about it. Might as well check it out...
I dunno what's the big deal about the whore is. She is not even a bishoujo. Well, at least not in the anime realm. But in this anime I guess she is the prettiest of the ugliest. Just goes to show how low the standard is.
She is only 15 years old and worry too much of being a virgin. Her dream is to get fucked by 100 dudes when she enters high school. Yeah, this is definitely NOT a show I want my daughter to see, if I have one that is.
But we all know that she's going to end up with one very nerdy guy who doesn't deserved a girl like her in real life. However since this is an ecchi anime, all is possible.
In his review, Glo used the term slut to address her. Well, I think slut is too polite for someone like her who has sex in her mind 24/7. So I'll called her whore. Just whore. Simply whore. Whore.
I guess it doesn't take a genius to figure out the plot, although I am a genius. A fucking genius I might add, because I was spot on. That super lucky guy is not only nerdy, he is as plain as a rag that no one bothers to look at twice. He was so plain, he needs a blinking arrow on top of his head to acknowledge his existence.
It is not a smooth sailing fuck though. The whore need to convince him to take her virginity but all she did was scaring him away. Well, what do you expect? Sex scene in the first episode? Yeah dream on, you freak!
The animation was pretty average. It feels like I'm watching an anime from several years back. Or a continuation of Chu-Bra!
Having said that, the last minute of the episode saved this anime from being dumped into the trash can. I thought that was funneh. This is a point of view from a virgin, mind you :P

I started watching To Aru Kagaku no Railgun on October 4, the week it first aired it's episode for the Fall of 2009 season. It was definitely one of the anime series that I look forward to the most because of my likeness for Misaka ever since Index (which I have yet to complete).
To Aru Kagaku no Railgun is not the sequel nor prequel for Index though. It was supposedly happened during the same time line as Index, some sort like parallel universe or something.
The story of Railgun pretty much evolves around the characters and we have several plots in it most noticeably the Level Upper arc and it's sequel which was the climax of the series. I say plots but in reality they are just filler episodes. The settings for all these stories are set in Academy City, just like Index (I have to stop comparing this with Index) but this time around I think it explore more of the city and kinda makes you feel like you want to be part of it, especially when they eat their ice-cream and crepes under the trees.
My most favorite episode gotta be episode 4 about the urban legend. This is the episode where Misaka used the sword that she made from gathering all the iron around her. It makes me a fangirl.
Misaka is obviously why the series takes off in the first place. Her presence in Index has so much impact that the studio, J.C Staff, decided to make one series that has her as the protagonist. She is the Railgun in question. Her partner is still the same worshiper cum her room-mate, Kuroko who clearly is still gay for Misaka. In the second last episode she was dreaming of Misaka and I DON'T WANT to know what her dream was *shudders*. Kuroko is a member of Judgment of District 177 with Uiharu, another main character in this series. Uiharu is very timid but is very dutiful and has a strong sense of fairness when it comes to her friend. Her trademark is the flowers on top of her head which wasn't explained until the end of the series. The flowers remain a mystery. Her power is super lame though: keeps everything that she touch in constant temperature. I don't know what's good that power is. Last but not least is Uiharu's best friend, Saten-san. In a place brimming with esper, she is a level 0. In other words, she's useless. lol I'm just kidding. She has her bat.
edit: This is just me but besides Misaka, I found the other main characters are rather annoying.
There are other less prominent characters but plays quite a role like Haruue, Kiyama, Kongo, Kihara, Tessou and few other characters that you might recognized from Index like Touma (fangirling), Index and Tsukuyomi.
If you read my tard's diaries, you would realized that I am a fan of Touma and Misaka's pairing. I love all the episodes that has Touma as a cameo. The combination of the two of them is made of win imo.
But I'm deviating.
Lets talk about the animation now. They are crisp and beautiful and most of the time, the background i.e. the Academy City is so lively it makes me wants to be part of the adventure also that I might meet Touma by chance. Kudos to the team because most of the fighting sequels are freaking awesome. The execution of Misaka's electricity and Kuroko's transportation are done almost without flaws. That is one of the reason why I look forward to see the actions in the series, and one of the best features, most definitely.
I am terrible when it comes to female seiyuus. I can't seem to be able to differentiate them accept for Orikasa Fumiko, but that's because I am gay for Rukia and Toriko. But let me say this: the seiyuus in Railgun are consistent and that's what excellent about them all. One in particular that did a good job at annoying me is Kuroko. Her voice makes me wants to strangle her but props for the seiyuu for the consistency. However, lemme just say that the villain, well, she top the chart for having the most annoying voice ever! She sounds like a fucking Brazilian all of a sudden!
I feel like I am repeating myself here so lets move on to the OP and ED. The OP is from fripSide and like Misaka is fully charge and definitely appropriate for the OP song of such shows. The ED from Elisa are quite a contrast to the upbeat OP and I can't say that I am a fan of such mellow song. But the ingredients might be just right for your cup of coffee though. Lets sings praises for the BGM too. They play kind of a big role in setting up the mood for some of the dramas and actions. Good job.
Did you see the youtube vid? Yeah, because of this one single episode, I can say that I did enjoy To Aru Kagaku no Railgun. It might disappoint you with the lack of plot and fillers but when the plot thickens you'll be sitting at the edge of your seat, well... kinda.

I dunno what the heck this show is about. I saw the torrent and decided to download it so I have no expectation whatsoever since I have no idea whether it is an action, shoujo, drama, slice of life or ecchi anime. But judging by the word 'Baka' in the tittle, I pretty much got the idea that it would probably be a comedy show.
And I was right.
Yoshii is a male student at Fumizuki Academy that used the caste system. At the start of the show he took the placement exam and ended in class F, the worst class (in term of condition) there is.

Then we have another addition to The Stupids, a sickly girl named Mizuki Himeji. Obviously she's the moe type so all the guys go gaga for her. So as to help her getting into a better class (because in that class her health would probably continue to deteriorate), The Stupids decided to do the Exam Summoning Battle.

What the fuck is Exam Summoning Battle (or ESB)? In this battle the students can summon a Being with attack power proportional to their grades in a given subject. They can challenge other classes using this Beings. If a lower level class defeats a higher leve one, they will swap facilities and classrooms. The Beings are actually the chibi version of the students.

Obviously without a secret weapon class F would be done for but they have Mizuki Himeji to save the day. She is actually brilliant and is placed in class F because she was sick during the placement exam. BORING! The gags were pretty funneh before she comes with her 'special power' *yawns*
Despite that, I actually enjoyed the episode. I laugh for real at some of the gags because it was meant to be stupidly funny. They are not pretentious, aren't like some of the stupid anime I recently saw.

The art ain't got anything special but I really like the way they portrayed the background. The same goes for the character designs but hey this is meant to be a comedy after all. But that aside, the most important part is they did not neglect the fans who like bloodfest.

Ah... I can never get tired of bloodfest. Besides that scene we also have a profuse case of nosebleed by this guy who take every chance he gets to peak at girls' pantsu.

So basically, if you want a decent comedy for this bleak winter season, Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu ain't that bad. I probably will change my mind after a few episodes but I am willing to give this one a try :)
