First Impression: Gifuu Doudou!! Kanetsugu to Keiji

I don't remember writing my preview thoughts for this show because it wasn't included so I checked MAL and by just looking at the poster, I can pretty much tell that I'm gonna like this show at all.

And boy I was right. There's too much muscle involved. The protagonists are giants while everyone else are midgets. The story took place during the Sengoku Era so there must be some political shit involved as well as samurai and what not. In any other show, I would probably be interested but this is just too blurgh for me.

Some fujoshi might like it though since the two protagonists are best friends and all so they are definitely BL material. 

Watching the first 5 minutes were torture so I decided to stop. I'm dropping this shit.

First Impression: Hakkenden: Touhou Hakken Ibun

I watched this when it was first came out. During that time, I was busy as fuck so I didn't have to write a proper first impression post. I regretted not writing one since I have to rewatch this in order to remember what was it all about.

 This show is about Shino and Sousuke, both has the power to control/be animal who lives as monk at some mountains. The Church are interested in them and knew that they can find the gems that they wanted so it was their mission to retrieve those gems or death by the Church law. Oh they also need to protect their sister Hamaji (not by blood) from being used.

Yeah, the plot is fucked up too.

There's really nothing interesting that worth mentioning about this show so I think I have finally decided to drop this shit. It's far too shoujo-ish for me.

First Impression: Hiiro no Kakera

I accidentally find out that Tomokazu Sugita is one of the seiyuu for the main character of this series and so I feel obligated to check this show out. I wasn't thrill that this is another harem-shoujo anime but I will (hopefully) persevere the first episode without having to rage quit.

Hiiro no Kakera or Scarlet Fragment in English is about Tamaki Kasuga, a young girl who apparently has the Tamayori Princess blood running in her. As such, it is her duty to take over her grandmother's job as head of the temple which means she has to seal the Onikimaru so that the Gods who have turned into ghost won't be a nuisance to the real world. As a princess, Tamaki has four bodyguards from the Shugogo House: Takuma Onizaki, Yuuichi Komura, Mahiro Atori and Suguru Oomi. In short, they are her future harem.

Because this series is classified as romance shoujo, I expect some love triangle and what not. Personally I want Tamaki to end up with Takuma because I'm biased towards that male character for obvious reason. Heh. There would also be some dorama since there are apparently villains in this series as well.

The arts and animation for this series are average at best. The character designs are pretty generic but hey, the bishies still look good no matter what. A few times, I thought that the animations were rather disjointed from one scene to the other and wasn't smooth at all. Given that there are so many studios involved for this project, I expected something with better quality.

But I guess they spent a lot on seiyuu which makes this show rather enjoyable to watch. I can't really comment on the OP and ED though because I'm watching the preview episode where Marie Miyake (seiyuu for Tamaki) and Kousuke Okano (seiyuu for Mahiro - I have never heard of him before tbh) were introducing the anime with so much gusto.

For some reason, I rather enjoyed watching this first episode. At least I wasn't annoyed which says a lot considering the genre of this show. Will I watch this? Perhaps. One thing for sure, this series won't be toss to my anishit list.

First Impression: Sankarea

I didn't pay any attention to Sankarea until Glo got mad at me in my preview for Spring anime, which consequently reminds me of his spasm post about the manga. Thanks to him, at least I get a basic idea of what this show s all about. Well, I really hope it is as good as he says it is. I said this because in MAL, it clearly says that this one falls under the ecchi category as well. As you all may know by now, ecchi and klux doesn't mixed too well.

The first thing that I notice about this show is the male protagonist's hair. For some reason, it really bothers me that his hair looks like neko ears. I wonder what kind of OCD I have for it to bothers me this much...

Anyhoo, Chihiro Furuya is a kid who is obsessed with zombies. He is like our otaku who is obsessed with 2D female characters and wish he could meet/marry one someday. It turns out that God is kind to him for he got his wish granted when he met Rea Sanka (get it?) during one of his zombie worshiping ritual to resurrect his dead cat Babu. Oh did I mention that Furuya has a female cousin whose name is Wanko? lols

I foresee a love triangle in the making >_>

And I must say that I don't like Rea much. She wasn't actually a zombie when Furuya first saw/met her. She was just an ungrateful brat who whines inside a well. She lets her dad took nude photo of her every year for her birthday... so yeah... Also, she keeps shoving her boobies in front of Furuya's face. What about that?

I do like Wanko though.

Rea offered to help Furuya with the resurrection potion. Since she is willing to do anything just so Furuya would keep her secrets, then Furuya asked her to be his guinea pig. I'm sure he'll be successful with it and used it to resurrect her too otherwise there won't be a show.

Thankfully there is hardly any ecchi that appalled me so I managed to at least enjoyed the episode without raging too much. Studio DEEN did good with the overall quality of the animation and art. Same goes for the seiyuu. As I am not exactly an expert about music, I just find the OP rather annoying. Or maybe I just like ballad song better which explains why I find the ED quite soothing for my ears.

So in the end, Sankarea wasn't bad at all though I wish we could see a little more details on Rea's innards at the end of the episode. The humor should be improved though. I hardly laugh at all throughout the episode. I did smile when Mero was introduced though. She's so moe - wait, what klux?

First Impression: Poyopoyo Kansatsu Nikki

In real life, I am not fond of cats. I think they are annoying and their shit smell like shit. But there are cats that I am fond of, especially those from the Nyanpire. Just like Nyanpire, this show is supposed to be only 3 minutes long per episode and featured a round cat that supposedly to be the cutest ever. We'll see what I think about that in few minutes...

And well... nope. Definitely not the cutest thing ever. I don't give a fuck how round the cat is. This show has nothing to offer. It wasn't even remotely funny.

Poyopoyo Kansatsu Nikki is about a round cat that Moe Satou found on the night where she slept on the street because she was too drunk. So she adopted the cat and Poyo quickly becomes part of the family. As expected this show evolve around Poyo and I failed to see what is so interesting about it.

It was too chaotic as they tried to cram to many shit in that 3 minutes of airing time. The characters were pretty much a cliche Japanese family we have seen so many times in anime before. A strict dad, a spinster for a sister and a kid brother that Poyo has something against.

I guess the only thing that's good (for me at least) is the fact that we didn't have that lackluster ED of Nyanpire included. Eh wait, is there even an OP? I couldn't remember.

With that said, I wouldn't continue watching this shit even if I can spare 3 minutes. I just might end up raging every week and I don't want that.

First Impression: Sekaiichi Hatsukoi

The only yaoi/BL show of the season (I'm not including Sex Pistol because it's an OVA) so naturally it was compulsory for me to watch it. The animation for this one definitely reminds me of Junjou Romantica, quite possibly the worst yaoi show I have ever watched.


Ritsu Onodera knew and acknowledge himself as gay even when he's in high school. In fact he was quite a stalker. This lifestyle of his lasted until he's an adult. From what little flashback that they show, he was quite a player.

He worked at his family's publishing house but when he heard his co-worker thought that he's using his connection, he quit to prove himself that he can be successful with his own effort. He was then assigned to the shoujo department and met the Editor-in-Chief who is quite an asshole (duh). He's good at what he do though so that's how he earns Ritsu's respect (and eventually his ass as well). And as I have expected, Takano is actually the same guy that Ritsu confessed his love at the start of the episode. Only in yaoi XD

The good thing about this show is, it doesn't feel rushed. Other yaoi (like Junjou), the protagonists can't seem to wait to get into each other buttholes. Sekaiichi Hatsukoi takes it time marinating that part until it's totally appropriate and/or reaches it peak. The kissing part was totally unexpected (on Ritsu's part that is) and it makes me chuckled because it didn't lace with fake feelings.


I got to say that I really enjoy Ritsu's monologue. I found it entertaining because most of the time, it turns out funneh. He's witty. Also, since they work in a shoujo department, I get to learn some the process of creating a successful manga (even though I don't read shoujo). At least I'm not totally clueless as why the pages sometimes so white and sparkly...

I'm not familiar with Takashi Kondo but since Ritsu sounds so sexy sometimes, I have no choice but acknowledge that he is good at what he does. The other seiyuus are quite a line-up (Katsuyuki Konishi makes Takano came to live) but their characters are yet to be introduced. It just something that makes me look forward to the next episode.

The OP is shit though and thankfully the ED kinda better (but not really). I'll skip both of them the next time I watch this show.

Enjoyable? Fuck yes if you love yaoi.

First Impression: Kore wa Zombie desu ka

As I have said in my preview, I wasn't really looking forward to watch this because of the magic theme until my friend told me that it is full of random goodness. That reminds me of Gintama so it kinda gets my attention. This is why I am a tad behind with the first impression post.

My friend wasn't lying. I lol'd when Aikawa Ayumu, seemingly a serious protagonist, suddenly jumped in front of a moving lorry and declared that he's a zombie. And so the randomness begin.

Lets meet the characters. We already know what Aikawa is. His housemate is Eucliwood Heelscythe, she is the necromancer that brought him back from the dead. Then he met with the magical girl Haruna. I usually loath a character like her but she brought something different to the table. With her saw and unexpected comment, I find her surprisingly tolerable, and sometimes funny. Her job is fighting Mugelo whatever the fuck that is. Unfortunately her power has been drained and transferred to Aikawa so his days of cross-dressing begin.

Despite the randomness, this show actually has a plot. Aikawa was murdered and he became a zombie because he wants to find his murderer. You can also see from the OP that there would probably be some fighting/action in the show. I was expecting the fight to have similar quality to the one in the OP but I was hoping too much. It was meh because the focus is obviously on the comedy.

The OP and ED were boring and the seiyuus are kinda average. I do not know any of them but then again I don't usually pay attention to female seiyuu. The arts and animations for this show have it moments but majority of the episode feels blah. As for the character designs, the team did a fine job. Each characters designs shows their personality as a person.

This show is not for those who takes their anime seriously. I on the other hand appreciate this kind of comedy. I don't see too much cliche (perhaps none) in thisone and that's good. It was unexpected and that's why I enjoyed it. After the disastrous Starry Sky and Dragon Crisis, Studio DEEN has finally managed to do something right this season.

First Impression: Dragon Crisis

I am not a fan of Rie Kugumiya so after I saw people’s reactions for this show through twitter and such, I kinda have a reservation about watching it now. However, it would be foolish to form my opinion based on what others have seen. I need to see it for myself thus here I am watching Dragon Crisis despite that I’m bored with the fact that it’s the same kinda shit that I’ve seen so far for Winter 2010/11.

I already know that I am probably end up not liking this show because of the stereotype character that Rie Kugumiya played. Unsurprisingly, I was right. Then there was Etou who secretly loves Ryuji. Ryuji himself is an average student who miraculously has all these hot girls wanting to get into his pantsu, including the jiggling boobs of his cousin, Eriko. Yada yada yada the same old shit.

If this doesn't annoy you, something is wrong

Eriko created a Seven Tail whatever fucked up organization and forced Ryuji to be her assistant. It’s about getting Lost Precious shit or something. They stole a bag from the bad guy and accidentally opened it. Lo and behold, a girl with golden lock came out. She seems to know Ryuji and possessed massive power. She’s going to rape Ryuji silly, just you wait and see.

At first, when Ryuji was in the train, I thought the animation was pretty decent but towards the end of the episode, nothing really stands out. The fanservice doesn’t make it any better either. By the way, all male students look kind of the same, don’t they? Even Ryuji, our protagonist does not stand out. I dunno whether it is a good thing or not. I found it rather infuriating when an average guy like him can get whichever girl he chooses. That is so unreal. I am not a fan of the female characters designs either. Big boobs just don’t work for me and Rose was just too aggravating for me to pay any attention to. As for Etou, she’s forgettable.

My complains don’t stop there. I knew right away that the seiyuu for Ryuji is Hiro Shimono. As usual, the role fits which kinda make it worse I think because so far I found all the characters annoying, even more so when it comes to the dragon girl voiced by Rie Kugumiya. She reminds me of Inoue when she was on Kurosaki-kun chant mode. Fuck, that made me rage. The OP and ED made me yawn, literally. At least the ED doesn’t seem to be too forgettable though.

I can’t say that I enjoy this show. I don’t hate it but I can’t wait for the episode to be over with. It just annoys the fuck out of me. I don’t think I’ll be watching the rest of the episodes. This one ends here unless someone can change my mind by presenting some great facts about why I should continue watching Dragon Crisis. I doubt they can.

First Impression: Starry☆Sky

Reverse harem? Why not just total BL instead? If it was, I would be the first to raise my hands and claim this as my favorite even before I've seen the episodes. As it is, this is still targeted for the female audience. I doubt many males would want to see some bunch of guys chasing the the only female in school.

The start was weak as fuck. We got the protagonist reminiscing as he looked at the sky and queue flashback. When he was a child, he met a girl who he spent time with doing nothing but staring at the night sky. Boring stuff especially when I know what to expect for the entire show in less than 10 minutes into the episode. That is definitely not good. I already know that the protagonist will do whatever it takes to meet the same girl that he fell for when he was a kid and it just so happened the same gal is going to the same school that he is transferring to. Cliche as fuck.

(If you feel like all these setups looks familiar, that's because it is: La Corda D'Oro ~primo passo~)

Well, this is a show full of bishies so I can't complain much when it comes to character designs even though they all look like your typical bishounen. So I guess I had to complain about that. I just wish they paid more intention to details and the animation was really terrible. It's like they don't even bother trying. Fuck you Studio DEEN. Not when you have a whole bunch of bishounen at your disposal.

I usually channel my hatred to the subject of reverse harem but not in this case. At least not yet. I am actually disappointed with Kenichi Suzumura's performance in this show. It was as weak as the fucking show itself. It is hard for me to dislike a bishounen but yes I dislike Tomoe the moment he opened his mouth. HOWEVER! I didn't expect to hear Sugita Tomokazu in this one. Or Jun Fukuyama or Yuuichi Nakamura or Mamoru Miyano or Junichi Suwabe or Kamiya Hiroshi. Fuck, now I feel like I'm obligated to watch this shit just like with Miracle Train, which I have yet to complete.

The good news is, each episode is only 12 minutes long. That will save you from permanent brain injury. There's only one way for me to watch this shit. That is if Tomoe Yoh sucks my imaginary dick. Better yet, why not the whole bunch of bishounen do just that. Then maybe I might actually enjoy this piece of shit.

First Impression: GetBackers

I have seen the first episode of GetBackers back in 2004 if I'm not mistaken. Did blog exist back then? I'm not sure but yeah after the first couple of episodes, I kinda put it aside and forgot about it until recently when I found an awesome fanart by papillon10. It just makes me want to see the series so badly. I guess I got my hopes high for it to turn out slightly yaoi-ish ^_^"


The story is about two straight guys who can get anything that you want them to get back hence the title. It was pretty straight to the point. I assumed they will meet different client in each episode and do what they do best.

The comedy was poor. I don't even smile at the jokes. It was very cliche and I am definitely not a fan of cliche. So that was a minus. I think it would be best if they just dropped trying to be funny and be all business like. That would be charming, and professional.

I'm not so into the two main characters. I just don't get their fashion sense and it bothers me. I was 21 in 2002 and I don't remember anyone walked around with such clothes on their back, especially that of Ban-chan. Not to mention his hair! Every time I see it I was like.. WTF, that is not natural! Also anyone else bothered by the fact that their car is way too small for their builds?

Having said that, their abilities were pretty cool I guess. It was not over the top. lol who am I kidding. They got shot in the head and live!!! LMAO

Even though I haven't met him yet, there is one figure that I kinda a fan of already and he is Fuuchouin Kazuki. You'll find out why eventually XD

The animation and the character designs are as to be expected from the anime that was produced in 2002. It nothing spectacular but isn't bad either except for the few points I have raised earlier. It's like watching GTO, kinda, but not really.

Watching GetBackers kinda like taking a step into memory lanes. Instead of using chips or CD/DVD, they are still using floppy disk to store their data. It reminds me of my college years. LOL I feel so old.

As for the sound... I'll be honest, I skipped the OP and ED. Maybe if I have more time in my hands I will try to listen to them but not for this first impression. The background music is not so hot in my opinion and why the hell every time they move they have to make the stupid sound effect of paper being rustled together, instead of the sound of clothes usually make? I know... I'm just being way too picky over here.

But overall, it was an okay start. I look forward to see the rest of the episodes (all 48 of them). My friend said that things will get pretty good when they get to the tower, whatever that means. So I have something to look forward too then ^_^

First Impression: Nurarihyon no Mago

Once upon a time, I used to read the manga. Not anymore because time won't permits me. I have to drop it because life gets too busy for me. Even though the manga was not really what I called great, it was still entertaining to read. So I hope the anime won't be such a bucket of phailed.

Watching the first few minutes of this show really got me excited. The mood is just right and when Nurarihyon clashes sword, I think I cum a little. I dunno whether it was because of Nurarihyon looks so mightily hot or if it is because of the swords. I would like to think both. I'm just that greedy after all.

However the mood just changed drastically when they show the house hold during the day. Rikuo still like I remembered him, and I still don't like him that much. I feel like complaining but I must accept that Nurarihyon and Rikuo share the same body. Kinda. So it feels like I am forced to accept Rikuo because of Nurarihyon. Lucky shouta.

I almost forgot that the demon in Rikuo's household are interesting characters. They are quite good looking too. I guess it was to be expected since they are the "good" one. The bad one on the other hand is a little bit over the top.

Nurarihyon no Mago is about Rikuo who is 1/4 youkai (demon) and 3/4 human. He will inherit the demon household and becomes the third commander of the demon. However he doesn't want to do it and prefer to live as a human being even though he's surrounded by demons. Just like human, demons are greedy too. One of the demon, Gyuuki, wanted that spot for himself so we just have to wait whether Rikuo will change his mind or not.

I feel like I have to differentiate between Nurarihyon and Rikuo. I feel like the animation during Nurarihyon was top notch but when they switched to Rikuo, it feels like some cheap budget animation. The same goes for character designs. What the fuck is up with that? Or I'm just being as bias as always? *shrugs*


I have always like the Yuki Onna and is a fan for Nurarihyon/Yuki pairing. I want to say that I like Kana because Aya Hirano is her seiyuu but I can't relate to her at all. I'm sure you are familiar with Rikuo/Nurarihyon seiyuu if you watch Code Geass, Bleach and Amatsuki to name a few anime that he has a role in. He is none other than Jun Fukuyama. He's getting more and more role nowadays. Good for him.

I wasn't really a fan of it's OP until the second time I heard it. Now, I'm addicted to it. Heh. Can't say the same about the ED though.

Overall, it was an okay episode. I will continue to watch this show for the sake of Nurahriyon and knows that the plot will get better soon.

First Impression: Giant Killing

I remember that this anime is about football, or soccer as the American would called it because they suck. I have a slight reservation about this anime. I love football and is a fan of Chelsea and when it comes to World Cup, it is Germany all the way. I am afraid if they are going to butcher this with over the top shit. That would ruin the shit imo.

The anime started off with an FA Cup match and Giant Killing is a named they gave to the protagonist. He is a very popular son of a bitch.

Tatsumi is a talented player. He was the proud son of the town and of the football team but when he got an offer from the English team, he accepted it and the people of the town dubbed him a betrayer. What a stupid mindset.

So he came back to revive his old team. Tatsumi will of course has to convince the town to accept him as the manager of ETU. And thus the plot is as clear as a sunny day. But that's what they want you to think. It has it own twists and what not to keep this interesting. Honestly said, I can't wait to see the next episode.

This is one of the reason why I like sports anime.

Kudos to the animation team. They did a pretty good job. I imagined it was not an easy job to make the animation during the match to go so smoothly and at the same time realistically. But when it comes to other stuff, they kinda average. I guess they spend all their time on the game that they neglect the other scenes. Or rather they are doing this intentionally. I mean, I have never seen anime with these kind of character designs yet. So in a way it is unique. Am I a fan? Not yet but who knows what the future might change.


Just look at the skin color and compared it to Tatsumi a.k.a the Giant Killing. This old fuck looks like he should be seven feet under. Also, WTF is up with that nose? The edge of that nose can kill for fuck sake. Lets just hope he didn't headbutt anyone. Lets not even talk about the G.I. Joe haircut...

This anime couldn't come at a better time imo. I understand if this will be a hit in Japan. They are part of the world cup phenomenon so yeah, just something to fuel in the spirit for the upcoming World Cup. Germany FTW!!

First Impression: Hakuouki - Shinsengumi Kitan

Do you know what that is? That is a sign that I probably going to like this series. If it continues to provide the same amount of blood like the first few minute of the pilot episode, then I am contented. Even if it has a shitty plot, I will sit through the torture if only for the blood. Yes, that's how much I love blood.

People who know me would have realized that I will dislike Chizuru the moment I set my eyes on her. I just knew that she's going to be weak and caused unnecessary trouble because one of the Shinsengumi guys will want to protect her. Urgh... This series better has lots of blood to compensate the shitty leading female.

Okay, I have a question. Was it a regulation or something for the Shinsengumi to have specific names that represent their rank? Like Kondou for Captain, Hijikata for Vice-Captain and Okita for for the third person in charge? I asked because they are using the same name as the one in Gintama. They even have the same sort of attitude. It could not be a coincidence right?

The male characters are interesting I guess. They all have their own personalities to make this series a lively one. Just like in Gintama, Okita is my favorite Shinsengumi. He reminds me a lot of Kon from Amatsuki. Damn, I wish they hurry up with the translation of the manga!

But yeah, I predict that along the way this will turn out to be some sort of a shoujo shit. I hope they won't go too deep with the romance and focus more on the action. Otherwise I will drop this. This has potential. It better stay that way a little longer.
