Aku no Hana

It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.

A Year Older: Again

It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.

Goodbye 2012 and Hallo 2013

So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.

Light Writings: Love II

I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.

Light Writings: Crush II

Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.

Diary of a tard: Week 5, June 2011

Sunday, June 26

My plan for today is catching on my sleep but as usual I can't follow through with my plan. Now I find myself reading another yaoi manga by Nara Chiharu titled Plastic. It's about a student-teacher relationship which many still considered taboo for some old-winded reasons. Love is love, in my opinion. It doesn't have a boundary. The sooner people get that, the better. Too bad that this yaoi is so cliche otherwise I would have enjoyed it a lot.

I am sure gonna missed the OP of Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san. With just one more episode to go, lets get episode 12 over with: they managed to tame the old hag thanks to Salamander power. It also poses an unknown problem to them since the mountain ape is back. With the old ha all nice and what not, he quickly gains access to the building by using the old hag and obtains the Grimoire. Shit, Beezelbub is in trouble! This can't be his last episode! But in case it is, here is a fanart to pay tribute for his awesomeness

The World God Only Knows II episode 11: Can't exactly say that I look forward to this episode since this teacher arc bores the fuck outta me. But here goes nothing - Keima goes to a pro-wrestling match and steals Nagase's seat so they can watch it together and thus making this their unofficial date. Keima confronts her with the basketball team shit and she totally lost it hence finally gives Keima the upper hand. Nagase really is a crazy bitch who keeps pushing her ideals to everyone else. Just looking at her makes me tired. Besides, this time she’s the one initiates the kiss which needless to say pissed the hell outta me. That whore!

The final episode of The World God Only Knows II (episode 12): Keima finds a dating game that he bought because it was cheap. The character design was fucked up so he thought that it would sucks. He is caught by surprise however by the fugly chic in that game. I almost had a hard attack. WTF? Nooo Keima, you musn' fall for the fugly chic. Don't go down the path of the nerd! Jeebus that dating sim game is fucking evil I tell you! Then he gets an offer from B's Ware (that's short for Bullshit Ware, if you asked me) to help them produce a dating game according to his ideas. Surprisingly he has problem coming up with an ideal dating game. It was just the way of the production team pushing their ideals on us. I am actually surprise that this series is going to get another season. Not that I'm complaining ^_^

parody FTW ^__^

Beelzebub episode 4: Human is going extinct caused by Beelzebub's urination. Yeah. i don't even. They have to think of a plan to stop that from happening. One of the solution is buying diapers for him but then they become hostage to a robbery at the supermarket. It wasn't a problem for Oga to get them out of that bind since he's supposedly to be stronger and more evil than anyone else. In the end, Baby Beel pees in the ocean. Problem solved. WTF.

I'm really taking my time with these anime, don't I? The last time I watched this show was back in January. lol I need to be more consistent with my anime episodes. Episode 8 of Arakawa Under the Bridge x Bridge: Ric has a new student; the Amazoness. She totally wants to be in Ric's pantsu. As expected, Hoshi is having a field day especially when the tengu successfully hypnotize Ric. This does not makes Nino a happy girlfriend, not when they got married. Actually I think this is awesome news. I don't like Nino with Ric. He's too blah. But too bad this show is about him. I am surprise even Hoshi helps him out in the end. This episode pissed me off.

I've been asking myself the same question

C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control episode 5: Now that Yoga is in the guild, Mikuni is cultivating him to be a better opponent by knowing the scale of his own power. Yoga becomes quite calculating after that which cost him to lost a deal. He suffered from minimal lost, failing a test but then another deal threatens the economy in the real world thus Mikuni buys the company to minimize the damage. Apparently you have to pay a certain amount of fees to be in that guild. Mikuno must be filthy rich then. If only he doesn't look to derpy.

Diary of a tard: Week 4, May 2011

Sunday, May 22

Episode 4 of Ao no Exorcist wasn't as great. Well, introduction episode is mostly like that.

C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control episode 3 - I have forgotten how boring and complicated all the finanical shit are. Satou, the lady with lollipop, is from an organization that tries to uncover the secret and the impact of Financial District in real world. She has been following Mikuno for that purpose but it is a tough job. On the other hand, Yoga finds out that his father was involved with the Financial District. He went bankrupt and hung himself.

For his next opponent, Yoga has to fight his teacher who is expected his third baby. This happens in episode 4 of C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control. Yoga would have lost if Mikuno did not buy the asset stock he's selling. Remember that for Midas money, you have to put your future as collateral. I always thought the loser will commit suicide but the teacher who lost showed Yoga can "lost" truly means. He lost all his three child. They disappeared and his wife has no recollection of having children either. That is just too cruel. He also tells Yoga about the Starling Guild, an organization created by Mikuno. He's trying to minimize the effect of losing in the real world. I still can't make up my mind about Mikuno. I think he's a bad guy but all his actions are contradicting my opinion. Ah, well he finally managed to convince Yoga to join him.

Episode 3 of Deadman Wonderland - Wretched Egg, the one who did the masacre is on the loose and immediately goes into a killing spree with the inmates. Of course Ganta will react to it. He foolishly seek the Wretched Egg without knowing that his own life is in danger. He's wanted by the Chief Warden. I find it stupid that they are willing to kill other inmates just so they can capture Ganta. Can't they see how fucking useless he is? But he's one lucky motherfucker to have Shiro by his side though as she helps him (and Yoh) escape and straight to G-block. Well, he gets what he's looking for. The Wretched Egg comes and greets them himself.

everyone, meets the Wretched Egg. He's my new husband ♥

To be honest, I don't feel like watching Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko anymore but against my better judgment here I am watching episode 3. I try not to let Erio pissed me off too much. Thankfully Ryuuko makes an appearance and her moeness cure my blacken heart for this show. She changed the tone of the show for me. When she's not around, it turns shit whats with the aunt trying to seduce the nephew and the delusional cousin finally coming back to earth. Urgh

How cute =3

Fireball Charming episode 5 - Drossel is still planning on a dress to wear for the ball. This time around, it's an underwater spacesuit or so it seems to be. Then Drossel gets to learn about table manner. What a farm, she means, farce! Another episode gone by so far LOL

I actually want to look forward to Hanasaku Iroha but there is just something about this show that makes me shy away out of fear. I don't know what it is either. But lets just watch episode 5 and get it over with. Ohana blabs around telling others about the love triangle between Minko, Tohru and Yuino. Now everyone was making conclusion that Tohru is leaving Kissuiso when he is just taking a day off so he can go on a date. No wonder Minko is so taken by Tohru. He's the one who allows her to work at the inn. I still have a bad feeling that Tohru will end up liking Ohana as well.

LOL oh well I feel like watching episode 6 of Hanasaku Iroha as well. It's pay day and the inn got a visit from Kawajiri Takako. She's there to revitalize Kissuiso, as she puts it. She wants the waitress to wear some rather appealing uniform that is totally not Kissuiso. Ohana is a willing participant though. Well, it's not like they have a choice. The inn is struggling and they need to do something to improve their sales. Hmm, i guess they really are angling for Tohru/Ohana/Minko. That pissed me off. It's degrading for Tohru as a character.

I might as well. Episode 7 of Hanasaku Iroha: Tomoe is being pressured by her mom to attend a marriage meeting while the inn is busy attending a bunch of whacky customers who play survival game for fun. It's a perfect opportunity for Tomoe to act up and get fired because she's planning on quitting anyway. Unfortunately her plan backfired and the customers love her and she ends up realizing that she loves what she's doing anyway. Argh, what is with this show. It lacks consistency. It's episode 3 all over again.

I understand how you feel Tomoe

The World God Only Knows II episode 5: There are 60,000 loose souls left. LOL it seems like Keima will never find his freedom. But he can look forward to 60,000 kisses, right? Heh. Keima makes me laugh. He pretends not to care what real girls say yet he gets depressed nonetheless. That's cute. This time around he has to save his classmate Chihiro who always goes around calling him dweeb. Keima refused to help her at first but his feeling to conquer drives him forward only for him to be shot down right after making him completely gives up on the real world. Somehow this episode is about him getting help.

Snoopy reference FTW!

And he finds it from Ayumi in episode 6 of The World God Only Knows II. He's the first girl he ever helped with the loose soul. Booyah! I love the fact that these girls are coming back. It makes this show so much interesting. Anyway, Keima does ends up helping Chihiro but as expected, since they have grown closer together, Chihiro kinda has fallen for Keima too. Heh, who wouldn't.

Episode 6 of SKET Dance: Sasuke storms in and informs them that SKET Dance will be disbanded starting from today. As if they will comply to that. I can't help but see Keima in Sasuke though he's not as awesome. I'm taken in by Hiro Shimono thanks to Keima. Anyway, they end up competing who would have the best play and if SKET Dance win, they won't be disbanded. Heh, it's not hard to figure out who wins, ne?

Monday, May 23

Jintan is some sort of a necrophilia, isn't he? Ano Hana episode 6.

Tuesday, May 24

Ao no exorcist episode 5, another introduction episode.

The World God Only Knows II episode 7: Today is the big day for Chihiro to confess to Yuta. As expected, she doesn't want to, not after knowing that she might not be able to talk to Keima after that. Heh, girls are fickle being. So since he thought he failed, Keima is more determined to conquer her. I love the whole process of convincing her and take whatever opportunity he has to place a kiss. Go Keima!

Keima is desirable like that ♥

Yokozawa kinda pull a stop on Takano's attack on Onodera in episode 4 of Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. As expected, Onodera couldn't help but thinks what Yokozawa is doing at Takano's place at 2am in the morning. I have to give it to him though for having such strong self restrained. In this episode, Onodera proves that he is a worthy editor thanks to Takano who has full confidence that he gets it done. Then Yokozawa comes and pretty much tells him off, saying that it is all his fault that Takano's all screwed up. Onodera has no fucking clue what that is all about though. Guess I just have to see the next episode to find out.

The most intense moment in the episode for me

Akutabe hires a sleazy kid who made a contract with Gusion (he eats people fond memories) in episode 7 of Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san. Akutabe asked Sakuma to look after him but she refused so he opted for Undine the fish again. When she send that boy to school, she falls in love with the homeroom teacher and tricks him on signing the marriage paper.

It's good to see that they are focusing on Sinpachi for a change in episode 147 of Gintama. It looks like everyone is obsessed with getting stronger. Everyone except Gin that is who always comes up with various of excuses not to train. So Sinpachi and Kagura get helps from other adults: Sinpachi's sister, Hasegawa and lastly Katsura. Neither one of them is any help though. They keep reverting back to the gym instructors and bear. LOL

Hijikata and Okita Sugou are captured and chained in an abandoned building in episode 148 of Gintama. This totally reminds me of Doubt or Saw. Jigzaw threatens to blow up the Shinsengumi headquarters into smithereens in 3 days. Only Hijikata and Okita know about it so it is up to them to save that place. Just how will remain to be seen. Jigzaw totally have them by their noses. You know it will be hilarious when you put Hijikata and Okita together in one room, just the two of them. I think there's only one person Hijikata is afraid of and that's Okita. I can't say that his fear is unfounded though.

Kubo still refused to reveal who the mysterious shinigami is in Chapter 449 of Bleach.

Friday, May 27

Episode 6 of Ao no Exorcist is a filler but it's still fun nonetheless.

Diary of a tard: Week 3, April 2011

Monday, April 18

My first impression on SKET Dance and [C].

Hanasaku Iroha episode 3: Ohana was about to get rape by the novelist. I approved because she obviously volunteered to atone her mistake in the last episode. Such a nice girl. She even helped him with her sex-writing career (Ohana having a threesome with Nako and Minko in a bath tub). Then she tell the others about it *facepalm* which pushed him to the point of being suicidal. He jumped off a cliff but was save by Nako. The end. By the way, what's with the fanservice in this show? It decrease the value and I'm definitely getting bored with the crap. So what if the animation was flawless when it's boring as fucking a dead guy? Fuck, Ohana is annoying *is mad*

*shakes head disapprovingly*

Episode 2 of Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san! Tamura's lecturer asked her agency to look for his dog. Akutabe used the service of Beelzebub for this mission. His power is "forcibly induce excretion in living creature" as he puts it. He was good though and they caught the missing dog in no time at all but he also ate shits. But yeah as the show progresses, I was lolling off my chair with laughter because it took turn to the unexpected! God I love this show =3

the timing of this scene was impeccable

Ah crap Ritsu has started dreaming about his boss. That is always a bad sign that the anime is taking turn for the worse. Well we got to see how Takano is charismatic when it comes to his work in episode 2 of Sekaiichi Hatsukoi though. It just the process of wowing Ritsu which also included him forcing himself on Ritsu, trying to make him remember of the past. And fuckif that is not cliche enough, how about the fact that they are fucking neighbors?

Episode 3 of X-Men disappoint me. The pacing was poor and the plot was too cliche for my liking.

Episode 2 of The World God Only Knows II on the other hand was good. I was entertained.

Oh wow, I am watching episode 3 of Tiger & Bunny. Who would have thought? I sure did not plan this but I might as well watch this since I got the time to spare. This episode is about Kotetsu and Barnaby working on for better understanding and team work. Sounds terribly boring and sometimes it were but the show has it moments too. TV Hero was also doing a documentary on Barnaby so we got to learn a few things about him like his parent were murdered. The show won't be completed without a little action so they added in a bomb threat where Tiger & Bunny finally managed to work successfully as a team. They still bicker though but that's the best thing about this partnership. Btw, what's with Karina Lyle?

Wednesday, April 20

Sengoku Otome - Momoiru Paradox episode 3: Nobunaga paid a visit to Imagawa Yoshimoto to obtain the left leg of the crimson armor but it won't be so easy. The episode is about how Nobunaga used 'recreation' to get the armor. It was stupid >>

Episode 2 of Sket Dance: random samurai guy showed up at the club asking for help to win the kendou tournament. They solved the problem with Friske. Then onto the second mission: taking care of Yabasu and getting rid of a bomb. They have to do both at the same time because the monkey ran away with the fucking bomb. There were some funny moments but only like for 2-3 minutes of the whole show.

Bleach chapter 445 was somewhat interesting.

Glo convinced me to check out Nichijou so I started with the OVA Nichijou episode 0. Not as I expected it to be.

Friday, April 22

As expected from A-1 Pictures, Ao no Exorcist is fucking awesome. I came in my pantsu.

Episode 2 of Ano Hana
. I am glad to say here that the quality remains and the story/drama just gets better. Awesome shit.

Yoga met his Asset, Masu in episode 2 of [C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control and immediately forced into a Deal. As expected Yoga was totally useless and got beaten by his own bitchy Asset but through this Deal at least I grasp the idea of what it is and how it works. Eventually Yoga won which was a big deal. The last person who won on their first Deal was Mikuni so naturally he paid Yoga a lot of attention. He even went out of his way to pay Yoga a visit. Yoga still has stick up his ass when it comes to Midas. He doesn't want to has anything to do with it. That's impossible. Masakaki remains as best character of the show.

Saturday, April 23

Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko episode 2: Makoto treated Erio like she's totally retarded as she explained about some alien shit. She totally deserved that kind of treatment. She also brought him to the ocean and when she went adrift, I couldn't help but laughed at what Makoto has to say. Apparently Erio disappeared for half a year and came back with no memory of what happened. Interesting... In this episode Makoto also met Mifune Ryuuko, a totally moe and adorable girl from his school. I can't help but like Mifune because he made Makoto do all kind of stuff that even he questioning himself doing it. Her attitude is infectious. He also met the Giant Oarfish, Maekawa. Note here that some of Makoto's monologue are really witty and funny. Kudos to the writer.

First Impression: [C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control

As far as I know, a lot of people (read: anime nerds) really look forward to this show. I know I am simply because this one is featured in the noitaminA time slot. That's how big noitaminA influences is on my preference. I mean, I completed Fractale, didn't I?

The start of the show is definitely attention grabbing. I was sitting at the edge of my sit for the first two minutes because I simply don't have a fucking clue what to expect. I purposely didn't read the synopsis or any spoilers so to be honest I was kind of lost at first before the plot slowly sinking in.

huh?

This is a show about money and have everything to do with money. Those with money triumph, those who are not... well either they get defeated and then jumped off in front of the train or simply be a loser for the rest of his mortgaged life. Players (usually those who in dire needs of money) are chose at random and is offered as an entrepreneur at "The Financial District". All they have to do in exchange is giving them their future (which pretty much spells out their life in fine prints if they bothered to read the contract that is). When they want to withdraw money, they have to travel to another dimension where somewhat magical creatures will be their weapon against their opponent. Win the game and you get the money. Otherwise your life is shortened.

It is just like the title suggested really. You exchange your future/life/soul for the money which mean you are letting go the ability to have control over the possibility of your future/life/soul (I am totally making this shit up). You're pretty much fucked up unless you are smart and win them back.

Kimimaro Yoga is the protagonist who is very diligent, working two jobs to get honest money. This also means, he is the right candidate to be the for the next entrepreneur. Masakaki could possibly be the most interesting character in this show. He reminded me of Johnny Depp because of his wacky personality. You can tell that he's cunning and will stab you in the back if given the chance. He managed to convince Kimimaro and thus that poor kid fall into the hands of the greedy.

the characters

Though the story is engaging, I still feel like it is lacking something. It is in the middle of the episode that I realized that I was expecting something that blow my mind away in term of it's art and animation. Maybe I am just too used of the idea that noitaminA anime will usually brings something different to the table. Err... actually it does. Kinda but not really. They still provide visual fest with vibrant colors (when in the Financial District), interesting camera angles and massive use of 3D effects. I was just being too picky because that isn't really my thing (the 3D). However at times, the characters look so fucking rigid it was as if they are saving on frames. Also the character designs are just too average. Maybe the production studio aimed to win the heart of the audiences through the story/plot instead of brilliant arts and animation.

Fortunately for them, it works or at least it managed to keep us on our toes and made us curious. Curiosity is good because that means we will tune in for the next episode. Having said that, I'm not entirely convinced yet.

arts & animation 7/10
story 8/10
characters 8/10
sound 7/10
enjoyment 8/10
overall 8/10
