Aku no Hana

It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.

A Year Older: Again

It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.

Goodbye 2012 and Hallo 2013

So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.

Light Writings: Love II

I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.

Light Writings: Crush II

Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.

Level E

All Level E did was trolling but damn it I enjoyed all 13 episodes, some more so than others. The fact that I enjoyed the trolling kinda tells you that this show is good at what it does which is bringing you shounen comedy. I appreciate that and honestly we need more shows like this and less that of Rio or Dog Days.

Don't let the title deceived you. The seemingly average, nothing special title of Level E was just one of it's way of trolling. It makes you skeptical of the content, especially when you read the synopsis. Yukitaka is definitely just a supporting character and not the protagonist, like the first episode suggested. All that plot I wrote in that first impression post was misleading. I only got to know this when I watch the second episode. The trolling continued until the very last minute of the show and I took pleasure in it.

The story has no central point and it lacks complexity however it was cleverly written to give sometimes quite an unexpected twist on that simple stories, employing witty humor that caught you by surprise as well as flavoring it with various genres such as thriller/suspense, romance and of course comedy.

Now lets get on with the characters. The show would have phailed miserable if it's not for the characters who give such vibrant colors to this premise but you only needs to know one important character which is Prince Baka, or as I called him Ki, who is the highly intelligent alien protagonist and seems to outwit everyone with his mischievous agendas and games just to keep himself from getting bored. He is the thread or the anchor that holds the story together. Yes, the story pretty much evolve around this jerk. There is only one person, or more correctly an alien who managed to outwit him. If I reveal that character, it would be too big of a spoiler so you just have to watch it till the end to find out.

I am not familiar with the manga from Yoshihiro Togashi so I dunno how true it was to the original work. Having said that but thanks to the anime blogsphere I came to learn that Studio Peirrot has did an excellent job with the adaptation. It used strong visuals, detailed character designs, streamlined narrative, and witty dialogues to make it more suitable for TV viewers of today. They experimented and they have succeed. If you phailed to appreciate this, then you are missing out.

The studio has also cast the right seiyuus for the characters and the cast is HUGE! It goes to show that this project got quite a budget hence why they can experiment. The seiyuus delivered their punchlines naturally whenever it was needed which is important in a comedy show like this one. This is the second time I see Daisuke Namikawa works his magic (the other one through Yondamesu yo, Azazel-san) as Ki. He, Yoshimasa Hosoya (as Yukitaka) and Takehito Koyasu (as Kraft) deserved special mention for their excellent job. They not only bring those characters to life but they also make them one of the most recognizable characters in recent memory. You can say that they completed each other.

(c) kaden

Just like the characters, the OP and ED are very memorable too, especially the OP: Cold Finger Girl by Kuriyama Chiaki (famous for Kill Bill). The animation in the OP have that Men In Black vibe to it which is awesome. Like I said, memorable and one of the best OP I've heard in recent time. It is up tempo and sets the right attitude for the episodes. The ED is a classic JRock by ViVid that kinda completed the whole premise. Having said that, there is nothing special with the background music that is worth mentioning.

The randomness of plot twists and the lack of central direction might throw you off your track but that would be your loss. To sum-up, the ingredients that made Level E so entertaining are the right combination of witty comedy, strong visuals and charming characters. If you can learn to appreciate that you will eventually agree with me that this show is definitely not your average comedy anime. It gives me hope and satisfaction knowing that amidst the inclination of stupid fanservice and moe oriented anime, I can still rely on some of the production house to bring me something clever and funny at the same time without over do it with slapstick jokes.

Diary of a tard: Week 2, April 2011

Monday, April 11

Too tired from the journey home so I only managed to watch the first episode of Hanasaku Iroha. This show is solid.

Tuesday, April 12

I am not going to miss the second season of The World God Only Knows II. It makes me remember how enjoyable this show can be.

Tiger and Bunny episode 2: It's the first time Tiger and Bunny working together. There are bound to be some argument especially when Tiger found out that he's suppose to be Barnaby's sidekick. Barnaby is still being an ass and that attitude is the reason why he is so endearing. As for Koutetsu, he's too simple minded to be a hero. He crushed civilian's car on purpose and doesn't feel remorse about it. He's just too careless. In this episode, Koutetsu kinda has to choose whether to see her daughter ice-skating or be a hero. He should just tell her daughter that he's Tiger so she would understand and does not hold grudges towards him. Anyway, I'm beginning to feel annoyed with the cliche-ness of this show.

Episode 2 of Fireball Charming: It's about manners and Gedächtnis teached Drossel to be elegant yet alert by putting books on top of her head and balance it while they play "games". It was fun as always.

charming as well

Just finished watching episode 2 of X-Men. Cyclops is such an emo. Orz.

Proceed with episode 2 of Hanasaku Iroha: Jeebus the OP is really annoying. Anyway, Nako will guide Ohana for her waitress duty. Because Nako is so timid, Ohana felt like she's useless so she kept repeating what her mother told her: don't rely on anyone else, only believe in yourself". Obviously she created more trouble; cleaning up room that she wasn't supposed to clean and cooking meals when Minko was being reprimanded because of it. She is tactless. Anyway, is it wrong of me to think that she might ended up having feelings for Tohru and thus have to compete with Minko again? Crap, Ohana is slowly getting on my nerves what's with her bossy and inconsiderate attitude. I'm that too but I don't force myself on people and I don't give a fuck about how they feel. Ohana is taking everything into consideration which is why she's so messed up. Having said that, the end of the episode makes me want to keep tuning in. chronolynx mentioned that this is "spirited away" without the magical stuff. Unfortunately I can see the similarity.

Asterotte's Toy definitely live up to my expectation and I don't mean it in the good way >>

Thursday, April 14

Better development in Bleach latest chapter but still we all know how Kubo is capable of trolling.

Sengoku Otome - Momoiru Paradox episode 2: Hideyoshi is still pretty much confused with her whereabouts but keep pushing forward. They went to the burned village from the previous episode and helped out the villagers. I think she was trying too much to be funny that it turns out not funny at all. I'm disappointed. Things were looking up when Shiro, the talking dog returned to harass Hideyoshi. By the way, fact from this episode is, they are in the land of no men.

I might as well watch the final episode of Level E: Ki figured out that the princess and his brother were actually impostor. By marrying Ki to a fake princess, they can asked Ki to liberate Magura from Dogura. Either that or never allowed Ki to leave Earth. Ki obviously thinks he has everything figured out and married the fake princess who turns out to be the real princess. LOL score for everyone else! Turns out the cat was the princess idea all along. Psycho indeed.

this is what I called a power couple

Do not watch Dog Days because it is fucking SHIT!

Friday, April 15

Mandatory BL/yaoi show for me: Sekaiichi Hatsukoi.

Saturday, April 16

First impression for one of the most funniest anime of the season: Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san!

Diary of a tard: Week 5, March 2011

Tuesday, March 29

Episode 18 of Monochrome Factor: Akira should just give up and allowed Shirogane to get in his pantsu already. On the other hand, it seems like Ken is on a date of his own too though I doubt it. A guy like Ken on a date? pfft... this show is still so dumb but so fun too. what the fuck is wrong with me!

akira kinda hawt

Thursday, March 31

Another slow chapter of Bleach. Jeebus Kubo. What the fuck are you doing?

Rikuo met Gyuuki face to face in episode 8 of Nurarihyon no Mago. Gyuuki was so bold, he even pointed his sword at Rikuo. I was disappointed actually. I was hoping for a bad ass fight between these two. Instead we got the back ground story of Gyuuki. Nevertheless, it was a tad interesting since we gotta see Rikuo' grandfather in action when he was the Nurarihyon. Smoking hot just like Rikuo ^_^

Friday, April 1

Level E episode 12: Ki' brother and fiance came to earth searching for him. They are both conservative fuckers. His brother didn't agree with the bill that allows him to take Ki's place as the King and tries hard to ensure that Ki will marry Luna. It was kinda obvious that he is the one who loves her. Problem is she kinda obsessed with Ki and even sent Colin to be her spy. The preview for the final episode was a spoiler though. Mohan, Luna and Colin are going to lead the war against Dogura/Earth.

Diary of a tard: Week 4, March 2011

Monday, March 21

Catching up on Fractale episode 8 and 9. Phryne really pissed me off. What a slut.

Tuesday, March 22

The second opening for Star Driver is not bad at all. Anyway, episode 15: Wako was jealous that Mizuno got to kiss Takuto even if it was just a play. Really, she should pay more attention to Sugata. I mean, he got an offer from Head to be the Emperor for first division of Glittering Crux, the Vanishing Age. It would be awesome if he accepts it. He bet with Takuto that he’ll cancel hi engagement with Wako if Takuto can defeat him in the next training. Mizuno overheard their conversation and BAM! she went cuckoo. Things aren’t looking good for her especially when their mom returned. She tried to leave the island but was caught up in a loop. Maiden can’t leave the island, right? That’s why.

Star Driver Episode 16: The Vanishing Age is after Mizuno since they have figured out who the west maiden is. They bluntly approached her and offered her a way to leave the island. Marino is still missing so Mizuno is really in a mess. She was captured and shit revealed itself. Apparently Marino was just a clone Mizuno subconsciously created to protect herself. Now two seals have been broken. Star Sword (Head) then challenged Takuto, confidently thinking that he’ll win for sure since he’s a Ginga Bishounen as well. No wonder I mistook Star Sword as Tauburn earlier. The fight made me sitting at the edge of my sit. Fucking awesome. Head was definitely not all talk. He doesn’t even break a sweat. But of course Takuto was soon got new power out of nowhere. I literally scream FUCK OFF to Takuto when his mark turned red all of a sudden indicating a power up.

gayest entrance ever!

Wednesday, March 23

Head name is Reiji Miyabi. I found out about this is episode 17 of Star Driver. The Glittering Crux is looking to unseal the East Maiden next but Head stopped them. In the 4th phase, the driver will become one with the cybody which mean he/she may be trapped in zero time. Head even blew the cybercasket. The reason is only those with real mark can drive the cybody in the 3rd phase. Vanishing Age totally took over the meeting. Takashi (Ojou-sama toy boy) is one of them. The other two are the lesbian girls. Madoka was the first to challenge Takuto and she was just meh. On the other hand, Head’s cybody was destroyed in the last episode and regeneration rate of success is only 50%. He must have had other plan because he doesn’t look worried at all. Btw, I think I know who is the East Maiden. She’s the president of the drama club.

Episode 18 of Star Driver: Fireworks burnt down Takuto’s room so he’s staying with Sugata. He kinda jealous when he saw how close Wako and Sugata are. Not a development that I want to see though. But this episode is about Keito who secretly went to karaoke to sing like an idol also about Madoka (again). She interrupted Takuto and Sugata’s training with her first phase. I really don’t like these two fags. And holy fuck! I totally went off the mark. The east maiden is Keito and he fucking rape Sugata when he’s asleep? O_o

My reaction to this is:

I am fucking speechless and fucking pissed. Only I can rape Sugata!

Friday, March 25

Fulfilling the promise to myself, I’m gonna watch Level E episode 11: The Kisaragi High School baseball team went missing and the bus ended up in an empty stadium in the alternate dimension. Somehow Ki was there too so obviously he’s behind it though he’s saying that they are trapped in someone else’s mind, most probably one of the players Of course at the end of the episode they got back to the real world but I really don’t understand how did they manage to do that? Was it because they were having a good game n the alternate dimension?

Since I need to release my fucking stress today, let’s do one more show. I picked Mitsudomoe episode 10: they had a joint recess with the first grader. Hitoha flashed a kid her Gachi Rangers shirt and belt but it looks like she was flashing something else. Mitsuba flashed for real and was labeled a “nympho’. She lied to the kids that it was a compliment so they quickly imitated her. Then Micchan and Futaba broke Hitoha’ Gachi Rangers stuff. Of course Futaba got away with it and Mitsuba got into trouble again. In the last segment she was sick and it was revealed that Hitoha stashed her porn under the bed. Heh, I always enjoy watching this show.

Diary of a tard: Week 3, March 2011

Monday, March 14

Fractale episode 6: the ship has landed and there's someone else like Sunda who is in charge. His name is Dias and he's a bishie. He' the leader of Alabaster, another faction of the Lost Millenium. I feel like this faction has some hidden agenda going on. Turned out Dias is a cold blooded murderer. It just made him cooler if you asked me. LOL. On the other hand Clain is interested with an old pervert. He was invited to see something good so he left his night watch post to meet him. Phryne tagged along. The old man showed the ideal Fractale town and this is where he learned about the Alabaster's cruelty. I think the old pervert is Clain's dad if the photographs Phryne stole were any proof.

This is Dias

Episode 9 of Level E: Princess Saki didn't give up. So what if Mikihisa is a girl? She just needs to turn him into a man. Craft has been deceived by the Macbac species. Thank goodness Ki is back. With his help, they created a clone of Mikihisa so that human species will be saved and Saki got what she wanted. I like the end of the episodes where the narrator said that it is us, humans, who will bring destruction to this earth. That's the fucking truth.

Wednesday, March 16

Fractale episode 7: Clain and Nessa ventured out on a smaller ship since he was excited with his new camera. In the middle of the flight Nessa wasn’t feeling so well (she’s being hacked) thus affected the system of the ship. They crashed. He ended up at Xanadu, the perfect Fractale city. He was found by a whore doppel who brought him to where Nessa is. Clain did not know that he and Nessa were in the “wanted” list. In the mean time, the Phryne and few others were looking for him too and found out that Xanadu is really corrupted. The whore planted a virus that fucked the Fractale terminal in Clain which caused him a lot of pain. Of course that will only pissed off Nessa and for the first time we got to see her power. She pretty much cleaned up Xanadu leaving it as a barren city. This made one of the doppel extremely unhappy. To protect his way of life, he fucking shot Clain. At the same time, the church has found Phryne. Shit going to hit the fan soon. Watching this episode makes me think. Even now there are people who are against technology where at the same time there are people who can’t live without them. The situation is similar so it should hit a nerve somewhere.

Friday, March 18

The start of episode 10 of Level E shows promise because it was all serious and shit but who am I kidding. This is Level E after all. The mermaid, who can tell when people is lying to her and killed them with her tongue, was in trouble. She met with the color rangers who helped her get out of her pinch. The episode itself was insignificant but I have to give credits to the production team. The quality of the animation was top notch. They certainly didn’t take any shortcut for this one.

05 March 2011

Diary of a tard: Week 1, March 2011

Tuesday, March 1

Star Driver episode 14: Takuto revealed to the twins that he doesn't have a girlfriend. Obviously they want to be his now. Mizuno even got a chance to kiss Takuto passionately on stage. By the way, Head is back at the Vanishing Age headquarter so he's planning something to while Marino will appravoise Ayingott to try and defeat Tauburn. Ayingott has the ability to find the four maidens and it does looks quite formidable compared to the other cybody. Marino lost control of it and it went berserk, attacking everyone. Even Tauburn had problem defeating it so Sugata stepped in and helped him. Even if Marino hiding the fact that Mizuno is the West Maiden, Head knows about it so she won't be protecting Mizuno for long. The BL in this show is awesome. I don't particularly like Wako but I think I can tolerate her when she's fantasizing about Takuto and Sugata.

I might as well... Starry☆Sky episode 8: Kazuki spoke of power. I don't give a damn about this show so I don't remember shit. This show is more gay than gay itself. I can't handle it. So why the fuck am I doing watching this shit? Oh yeah... the seiyuus >>

Episode 8 of Level E: Princess Saki from Macbac is coming to earth looking for a groom. There is a catch though. The races that she reproduced from will be destroyed because all the males will be sterilized hence no new generation etc. Ki's three minions were trying their best not to let her mate with any male human being. Of course it was futile because she and a Mikihisa fell in love at first sight. They fucking eloped! Turned out that Mikihisa is female and is actually gay. The earth is save then? LOL I know how this show can troll us so I'm not going to predict any shit right now.

*chuckles*

Saturday, March 5

A few more anime as an attempt to salvage this otherwise bleak weak of anime. Going to watch Sukisho episode 2 just because I'm doing this in alphabetical order if you still didn't see the pattern. First of all, let me say this because I missed it in my first impression post but the BGM is really annoyed the fuck out of me. Secondly, the plot for this episode was stupif. Hashiba and Sora joined Matsuri with a School-Do-It-All shit where the do chores for those who hired them. Their first mission was a photoshoot. Hashiba became Kenshi and Nao became an English lady. Seriously, this is too fucked up man. I am starting to rage. Thankfully, Yoru almost took over at the end. Yoru is probably the only reason I'm sticking with this show. But the details between Ran/Sora is really confusing =\

Might as well catch up on episode 4 of shitty show Rio: Rainbow Gate. Rina came over and became Rio's partner. She has bad intention but of course towards the end of the episode all is well. Fuck this is fucking shit.

26 February 2011

Diary of a tard: Week 4, February 2011

Monday, February 21

Lucky☆Star episode 10: Kagami taught her sister how to used the handphone. Miyuki got a cold and went to clinic. She was so engrossed in her reading, she missed it when her number was called. Same thing happened when she got on a bus. She needs to pay more attention to her surrounding. Then they had a sleep over at Konata's house. Btw, I found it really hard to write a consistent review for this show.

She is so moe

Episode 3 of Kore wa Zombie desu ka?: Aikawa tried so hard not to let Orito knows that he is living with a three bishoujo. Obviously he will phailed. Halfway through they decided to get serious so Orito brought Aikawa to the hospital to visit Kyoko, another victim of the serial killer. She described the killer to Aikawa and it matches Hellscythe. Dum dum dum...

phailed

I want more laughter so I decided to watch Mitsudomoe episode 9: They are still on Gachi and there are still misunderstanding about Gachi and sex/porn and as always the teacher is in the middle of the shit. LOL I would have been traumatized if I was Yabecchi. On the next mini episode, Hitoha became a Santa and I was rolling off my chair laughing when she tried to get out of the room. Futaba is really awesome though when she becomes the ball for the ice bowling.

and that's how she came ^_^

Slowly but surely, Nurarihyon no Mago episode 5: Rikuo got a fever and the conflict about him being the third heir continues. So does his life as a student. His friends came over for a visit and we got a love triangle going on between Ienaga, Rikuo and Yuki Onna. I found this extremely cute especially when Yuki was flustered and shit. Rikuo and his paranormal crazy friends then went on a field trip to Umerakuen where Gyuki resides. The youkai traitor overheard the plan and set to kill Rikuo (again). Btw, I’m intrigued with the Crow Demon’s sons. I bet they are good looking. LOL

Episode 6 of Nurarihyon no Mago: The professor they met at Umerakuen was a troll. It was all a set up to kill Rikuo. I am glad that I can’t see spirits otherwise it would have been some scary shits. For example, those youkai at the onsen creep me out. However I refuse to believe that Horsehead and Oxhead are bad youkai. They are too good looking to be the bad guy. Of course my opinion will change if they end up getting killed instead. For now I take the “innocent until proven guilty” route. Sure they attacked Yuki Onna but that’s all Gyuki’s fault. Oh fuck, alright. So they are bad after all >>

Can’t stop now where it’s getting good. Finally Rikou is fighting as himself in episode 7 of Nurarihyon no Mago. Well, at least he did good trying to protect Yuki before the smexy Rikuo took over. Oh yeah, don’t forget about Kana. I really don’t like her character’s personality. It got all the ingredients of hate. I refused to accept her as the canon pairing for Rikuo. Btw, I learned that Zen’s seiyuu is Sugita ^_^ also I take back my words about the Crow Demon’s son. They look like… well… crow! *facepalm*

So hawt

Tuesday, February 22

Ookiku Furikabutte: Natsu no Taikai Hen episode 6: Abe agreed for a practice game with one of their opponents. He has also decided Mihashi training routine for him: no throwing unless he says so. Mihashi just happy that they are finally communicating. No denying the canon between these two. While others considered Abe as meddlesome, Mihashi took it that he cares about him. It was so obvious. They are going against Kounan and those boys have been practicing hard. The coach looks like he has something up his sleeves. Or was that the Touhei's boys? I'm confused =\

Oh Tajima, you are so made of win =D

Wednesday, February 23

I plan to watch as many episodes of Shangri-La today but before that I have to get the anime of the current season over with. I'll start with episode 7 of Level E: While the Color Rangers continue their adventures, the alien teacher is getting worried about the kids who at that moment need to save Princess Baka from the Demon Lord. But he did agree to go with the Demon Lord and thus we got to see their wedding night preparation. I wish I was spared though. The Demon Lord turned out to be good person who wants to defeat Ki as well and thus they found truce and end the trolling. That doesn't stop Ki getting his way in the end though.

Next up if Fractale episode 5: Clain is force to work to earn his place on the ship. Apparently Nessa is on board too but Clain can't see her for some reason. Could be that she hates him now but I doubt it. During the flight, something was wrong and the temperature inside the ship keeps on rising and the autopilot malfunctioned. No one could solved the problem so Clain steps in (without permission of course) and determined that Nessa was the cause. They ended up playing hide and seek with her. Phryne still being bitchy though and the Temple has finally found her and knows about Nessa as well. Good news is her relationship with Nessa as improved and it seems like everyone is having fun on the ship.

loincloth of the century

Soul Eater Not! chapter 2: Tsugumi, Anya and Meme went to the girls dorm where they meet with few other interesting characters: Kana the fortune teller, Misery the book nerd and Kim the witch. Wasted and useless chapter >>

They all kinda look the same, no?

As I promised myself yesterday, I am gonna start watching as many Shangri-La episodes as I can today. Resuming episode 5: Kuniko found Kunihito at that run down place and decided to investigate. It is suspicious to have a soldier at such place after all. Kuniko then was transferred into the computer world when she sought help from the three old geeks. She found out about Serpent as she's spying on some advance CPU. She also accidentally met Karin from Ishida Finance there. Then there's a crazy mental bitch Sayako who works for Atlas and cutting people up for fun who appeared randomly. Kuniko managed to steal the mimic armor from Kunihito during their "date". At the end of the episode, Karin is threatening the Minister.

Episode 6: Karin offered to destroy the Serpent. Kunihito decided to quit the military because of his negligence in the last episode but got rejected. Instead he was invited to the Moon Palace because Mikuni has taken an interest in him. Looks like there is someone in Atlas who is secretly protecting him. Sayako is confused as to how Kunihito has the same sword as Mikuni. Supposedly he and Mikuni should not meet because it clearly upset Hiruko, another crazy ass bitch. It has something to do with Mikuni being the moon, Kunihito the land and Kuniko the sun. Speaking of Kuniko, she helped to pin-point where the Serpent is hiding but then there's MEDUSA.

Episode 7: Kuniko got arrested by Ryoko. Tomoka followed suit which in my opinion will only further burdened Kuniko. She was being bullied for real and seems like Ryoko likes her too much, she will execute her.

Episode 8: It was the execution day but of course Kuniko managed to escape but those who helped her got shot and killed. She didn't know about this though. Also, Mikuni finally managed to go to the real world because of the eclipse and looks like she's going to meet with Kuniko for the first time. I was happy to know that Kunihiko was pretty bothered by Kuniko executions too.

Episode 9: Momoko-san was captured by the saddist Sayoko. May God have mercy on his transsexual soul. I feel like Ryoko is the really bad guy here. She's haywire. Not a good timing though since Kuniko kinda lost without Momoko and when she found out about Rena, Nao and the others, she lost it completely.

Episode 10: After few days of moping, Kuniko decided to take charge again and officially becomes the leader of Metal Age while Ryoko becomes the Prime Minister of Atlas. Mikuni the first to heard voices in her head and this marks the beginning of a new adventure. Unfortunately, it all goes according to Ryoko's plan.

Episode 11: Kunihito is stranded in a small boat in the middle of the ocean. His ship was attacked by the satellite. No one has idea who caused it. There's this strange boy that appeared in his dream and later on in front of Karin. He is Digma Zero also known as Canary. He's dead according to the files. By the way, the Sun, the Moon and the Land is also known as Digma-1, Digma-2 and Digma-3 respectively. I figured they are experimental child. I wonder what their true purpose is.

Friday, February 25

Shinryaku! Ika Musume episode 6: Noh Mask Rider came to town but Ika managed to make her looks like the bad guy when she was fighting with the Squi-Devil. She even wear the costume herself and fought Noh Mask Rider. Guess who came forth? The older sister so obviously Ika will lost. In the second stint, turned out Ika is really good with Math so Eiko is trying to learn the tricks from her. Lastly, Ika threatened Nagisa as usual. She was trying to stop Gorou from ruining the only person who's afraid of her. Nagisa thought that everyone has been brainwashed by Ika, Eiko thought Nagisa likes Gorou and so on. Haywire.

Indeed

Diary of a tard: Week 3, February 2011

Wednesday, February 16

Watching Level E: I found it is hard to explain this show in words. I feel like you have to see everything yourself to help you understand how good this show is. But anyway, since this is my diary, I'm obligated to try and explain what is going on. Episode 5 is about Color Rangers. Ki kidnapped 5 kids and gave them power through wristband. I love how they transformed unwillingly.

Thursday, February 17

Star Driver episode 13: Benio came to Sugata's house and asked for a Kendo match. Obviously Takuto ended up as her opponent and obviously Benio tried to make him hers. She even stole a kiss from him while he was sleeping. Thankfully her first phase didn't work anymore and it was revealed that she actually loved Sugata. Heh, she's not the only one. Benio lost her cybody but took a risk and piloted another one. Bloody hell, she even got her clan mark back. Without wasting any time, she challenged Tauburn and lost. Jeebus... and because she lost, she's in love with Takuto now. WTF

so cute =3

Friday, February 18

Level E episode 6: Continued from the last episode of Color Rangers. The kids went to Yamagata to challenge Craft so they can get the key that can free them from the wrist devices. They managed to do that by telling Ki the name of the girl they like but Ki has other plans for them. He threw them to a RPG planet where they have no choice but to use the wrist band again. As expected they got hooked and leveled up. Now they are headed to the castle to find out why the king is not feeling well and hoping to beat Ki's ass. TBC

The hairy balls grossed me out

Diary of a tard: Week 1, February 2011

I decided to pick anime at random and somehow I ended up with K-ON!! Whatever. Might as well. Episode 12: It's the summer. Yui suggested training camp and everyone agreed except for Mio but majority wins. They decided to go to the Summer Festival in the mountain. This is the first time that I feel the show is really about music. It's good to see the girls got excited at the festival. The ending was shit though. There's no way After School Tea Time is better than the pros. Not at their level >>

Not really in the mood for Kore wa Zombie desu ka but since today is the letter "K" day, I don't have much of a choice. Besides, I know I enjoyed the first episode because of the random goodness. Episode 2: Seraphim made her debut. The fight between her and Aikawa was pretty nice. Now she'll be living in his house too. We also got to see how Aikawa first met Yuu. The shit was pretty funny especially when he started breakdancing. It was the same night that he got killed while he tried to save someone. Yuu seems to have taken a liking with Aikawa. She even slapped Haruna when she jokingly said "go die!" to Aikawa . Btw, why is Haruna walking around flashing her pantsu? and the art style reminds me of Angel Beats!

Catching up on Fractale but only on episode 3: instead of getting frustrated with the situation they are in, Clain was excited because Enri brought him and Nessa to a place he has never been to before. Enri's plan has obviously backfired. Apparently people like Enri can't see doppel so they have to wear special goggle to see Nessa. If they don't like her, they can't touch her. Enri brought them to her brother. They are anti-Fractale, terrorist according to Clain, and called themselves the Lost Millenium. All they want is Nessa really because they assumed she has all the data regarding doppel, which they want to eliminate completely together with the Fractale System. They challenged Clain's view on freedom. Even though they are hostages, the Granitz villagers are still so nice to them. They even brought Clain to crash on the Star Festival organized by the Temple where Clain learned that the purpose of the festival is to brainwash everyone. They interrupted the ritual but found two Nessa. Some were killed including Butcher. It was serious shit until Phryne showed up.

Sunda reminds me of Kittan ^_^

Happy Birthday KyuHyun oppa ♥

Level E episode 4: Gotta love the set up they created at the early part of the episode. That was some serious business there and I noticed the different style of art is present too. Man, I'm really liking this show so far. Four guys saw a man devour their classmate. They investigated and one of them disappeared the next day and the day afrer. So they seek help from a dubious doctor but he did his job. They found out the culprit is from the planet Conwell where the men eat the women they love to produce a child of their own. Pretty thrilling stuff if I might say so. And guess what, this whole story is fabricated by Ki. Oh man, I've been trolled twice today. First with Kubo and now this. But I don't mind this one though because it's good XD

On to Fractale episode 4: Lost Millenium plan changed when Phryne appeared. Now they want to kidnap her as well since she's the 'key to the world'. Big mistake since now the Temple is going to suppress the Granitz family. So now they are going away because they don't want to trouble the other villagers. Before they could, the Temple has attacked the village. Phryne escaped only to be saved by the Granitz family yet again, same with Clain who tried the same thing. Even after all he has witness, the stupid Clain thinks that the Lost Millenium are the bad guys. He even left Nessa behind since she doesn't like Phryne much. I wonder why...

The Granitz family picture

I think I just came ^_^

Diary of a tard: Week 4, January 2011

Monday, January 24

Arakawa Under the Bridge x Bridge episode 7: (1) About health between Shirai and Mayor (2) Check-up with P-ko obsessing her physical outlook (3) everyone else obsessed of getting sick to get the attention of their love one. (4) everyone ended up getting an evaluation for rocket launching in which they have to stay in the basement for 5 days to see how they cooperating. Girls with girls and boys with boys. Obviously hell broke lose. For girls it was P-ko who became the victim. The boys however pass with flying colors. NOT! LOL

I feel like watching the anime in aphabetical order. Next up is Beelzebub episode 2 and 3. Hilda moved in to Oga-chin's house and Oga's mission is to find someone stronger than him so Beel will leave him alone. So he met Kanzaki (whose seiyuu is Sugita. w00t!) but again it was a phailed attempt. The electrocution is still annoying as fuck.

Fuck fucking yes though for Zettai Karen Children chapter 247: I didn't notice this before but just when Minamoto was about to kiss Feather, Kaoru appeared and was in Feather's place so Minamoto kissed her instead. FUCKING W00T! Things were obviously awkward between them after that *chuckles*

Holy shit. I just realized that it has been over a year since Durarara was first released and I am still on episode 13. New OP and ED. I like the old one better. But that aside this episode focuses on Anri as the narrator. Obviously I'm interested. I have always been interested when it comes to the trio. She's narrating the life of Celty after the event that took place in the last episode. She, understandably, is making an enemy with the Traffic Police Force, especially one of the officer: Kuzuhara Kinnosuke. It was funny to see her shivering in fear in Shinra's arms and claiming the TPF as the monsters. During their conversation, it was hinted that she and Shinra is now bed partner. I smiled at how sweet the relationship is. Besides the officer, Shinra's dad has came home too. As for Anri, she knows that Ryugamine and Kida both like her but she couldn't make up her mind about them since she's still so hung up on Harima. Towards the end, it seems like Kida has something to do with the Yellow members. If Ryugamine is the leader of Dollars, I assumed Kida must be someone important in Yellow as well. Perhaps the leader? Izaya warned Ryugamine about them not happy with Dollars. Heh yeah, I can distinguished who is who in the chat room now. This episode points out the slasher that has been killing people around since the Dollars meeting and at the end, it kills the three sluts who were bullying Anri. Fuck I love this show.

The Disckonian that Ki killed was really mad and sent a signal of distress to the rest of his species in episode 3 of Level E. They have until sunset to give Ki up but of course they can't do that so they tried all methods to get Ki's memories back. It was hilarity. None of the methods worked though. Why? Because Ki set all these shit up. What the fuck? I've been had. Actually we are all have been punk'd! LMAO. This is awesome :DDD

After almost a year, I’m resuming my watch on Fairy Tail, now on episode 16. Natsu stopping Gray from kicking Lyon’s ass. Unnecessary drama if you asked me. But yeah, Gray managed to kick Luon’s ass at the end of it but it was too late since Delliora has awoken and Gray is determined to seal it again using Iced Shell just like UI.

Let’s move on to another boregasm show, GetBackers episode 11: Gin and Ban have to cooperate with Dr. Jackal, Himiko, Shido and Katsuki for this new job and it involved Infinite Castle. They are to retrieve IL from the castle. When Ginji got there, obviously complication arose since he’s the former emperor. Looks like the new guy in charge (Makubex) had some nasty ill wills going on. Things are getting interesting indeed.

I'm glad I decided to watch Hourou Musuko episode 2. I was reluctant at first since I don't think I want to see the drama even though I think this is a great show. Chizuru made me laughed. She reminds me of Maya from Kuragehime. This episode is about Saori getting into terms Nitori and Takatsuki. She obviously has feelings for Suichi and is not dumb not to see that Suichi/Takatsuki have feelings for each other. That's why she's no longer friends with them or everyone else. I like her character a lot in the beginning but towards the end, she disappoints me. Suichi really needs to step into the real world though but I kinda understand where he's from so it leaves me in a dilemma. I dunno whether to support him or shake him till his teeth rattle. He's a bad influence for Makoto. Now he's turning gay. And I don't like the fact that the feeling of Suichi/Takatsuki has been cemented since episode 1. The highlight of the episode for me got to be Maho's love story unfolding. Kyaaaah, I'm such a sucker for romance.

Saturday, January 29

Giant Killing episode 11: The match became extremely intense with Tatsumi’s side doing all the defending from Nagoya. Tsubaki in particular has been doing all the hard jobs blocking the ball from entering the goal. Nice, and it’s only the first half. Long way to go. I hope Tsubaki will not lose it in the second half. Great stuff, this show ^_^

The start of episode138 of Gintama was kinda WTF. Black Dragon and Stainless Boy? I thought I was watching a wrong show for a moment and it seemingly is not related to the episode at all. After the OP, Shinpachi and Kagura was cleaning the place when they found Gintoki’s old picture of his ex girlfriend former partners for the “Odd Jobs” before Shinpachi and Kagura came along. They all looked the same as Black Dragon, had a psychogun attached to their arm, or in Ikezawa’s case, a sake bottle. It was fucked up, as usual, which made it so much fun.

lulz at boobs

Diary of a tard: Week 3, January 2011

Sunday, January 16

I'm in a mood for comedy so I pick up Mitsudomoe episode 7. I almost forgot how chaotic and fun this show is. I lol'd when Hitoha got so into the Gachi rangers. It was lulz worthy when she tried to talk about it with her fellow classmates but phailed at it. Obviously things get awry when the teacher involved. Then the classmates got confused because the twins dad looked like Satou when he's at their age. What a fucking coincidence, eh? LOL I would be traumatized if I was Oga-chin.

The irony is, despite her personality, Hitoha is the most talkative in this show

Monday, January 17

Rie Kugumiya was annoying in Dragon Crisis. I hate it.

Mitsudomoe episode 8: Mitsuba tasted her own medicine thanks to Hitoha during gym class. Then we got the cockroach exterminator scene that turned out to be about the teacher's obsession with Gachi Rangers. Next up was Futaba short break with her song about boobs while she saved a lost boy. Not as funny as the last episode but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Tuesday, January 18

As predicted, Fractale was awesome. It exceeded my expectation. w00t!!

mangastream published a new manga today called Soul Eater Not! I think it's a parody of Soul Eater. It still has it own set of original cast but this time the focus is on a girl from Japan, Tsugumi Halberd. She's the weapon type (pretty much like Soul). It pretty much explained what the school is. Hmm, instead of a parody, I feel like this is more like an introductory manga for Soul Eater. Even Sid sensei is not a zombie yet and Medusa is still around so I wonder when is this. Not too bad but I wonder if it's necessary. Why don't the mangaka just focus more on the manga and make it a weekly manga instead of monthly? Tsugumi looks like a Maka clone so I don't like her much but the new faces are fresh and interesting and I spotted bishies so I'm gonna follow this one just because :3

Wednesday, January 19

Another show that I dropped after the first episode is Onii-chan no Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakare ne. It was torture.

Thursday, January 20

Kore wa Zombie desu ka is full of random goodness. Now I can see why Glo said it reminds him of Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu because I can't relate it to Gintama. Gintama is too epic for the like of this show :D

I'm watching episode 3 and 4 of Starry Sky. I gotta meet Tsubasa the inventor, Azusa the shortie, Shiranui Kazuki the fucking cool dude and Hayato Aozora the redhead. Jeebus, they tried to create some drama but it was torture. Fuck, why am I still watching this? Oh yeah Sugita. But he wasn't around for these episodes. There's Yuuichi Nakamura though.

I was completely wrong with my initial thoughts for Hourou Musuko. I stand corrected.

Friday, January 21

Level E surprised me with the humor. I'm liking it.

Saturday, January 22

I turned a deaf ears and blind eyes for the Fractale debacles so that I won't let it get to me when I watch episode 2 of the show.

Sunday, January 23

LOL fuck, Level E totally got me to believe that Ki El looks so fucking hideous in the last episode. Turns out, that was his pet Clive. Jeebus. Then an octopus like UFO came down and sent out scouters to search Ki El. They landed in Disckonians territory. Apparently Ki and the scouters are from the planet Dogura and the captain of the UFO ship went to Disckonian leader (disguise as human) to seek help. There are other species on earth as well like Ellerians who are the Dickonians sworned enemy. These species are vulgars and love violence. Anyway, the girl next door found out about Ki and as expected she will help them out. I got a feeling that she's just amusing herself. She was around when the scouters found Ki (who is a Prince of Dogura) who has killed a Dickonian. Fuck... trouble!

oh so bishie ^_^

Just so you know, I really hate Glo for this. He challenged me to watch the shittiest anime ever and since I have an ovary, I accepted it. So here I am watching Rio: Rainbow Gate! Fuck you Glo! Episode 2 is about bouncing boobs, training the clumsiest intern ever, Rio as gate holder and Elvis challenging her for the card. Episode 3 is about a haunting casino in an old castle. FUCK THIS IS FUCKING SHIT!!!

First Impression: Level E

From the preview, I was immediately taken by Level E because of the promise of bishounen. Besides, from the synopsis, it make this show sounds kind of unique and unique usually works for me. So without further adieu, let's do this.

The OP makes me snap my fingers in rhythm. I like it straight away. The music video for the OP is pretty neat too. I am certainly getting a good first impression from this one and definitely getting the Man In Black vibes.

Yep, definitely MIB, even the comedy are that of manzai. I lol'd which mean the show has successfully create a likable protagonist who is a baseball ace who went to Conan on scholarships. That's where he met Ki El, an alien who just crash-landed not too far away. Maybe it's true that alien are more intelligent than us human being because he possessed a witty sense of humor just from few hour of learning our language and such.

But it wasn't all about being funneh. This show has a good pace which makes the story telling seems flawless. It's telling a story without having to spell it out bluntly. I like that. It still has plots and the premise has been set in this episode. At the moment, as expected, it focuses more on Ki El and I actually was quite surprised when he revealed his true self to Yukitaka. That thing was fugly, man.

The animation was good. I'm glad that the OP sequence weren't just for show. I'm mostly impressed with the character designs and appropriately so since this is in my opinion a character driven show. I was so used with anime person looks like an anime character that I found it kinda refreshing to see that Pierrot didn't do the same with Level E. The characters feel real and relate-able.

While the OP grabs my attention almost instantly, the ED was more generic but with catchy visual-kei song. However it still has the creative animation to accompany it. The characters sound like they should, even the disturbing howl of the alien. As for the BGM, it was cleverly paced and only played when a change of mood is required.

Level E presented an interesting idea and is made with capable scriptwriter, solid animation studios, and seemingly high budget. It seemingly has the right ingredients for a great series, and so far it's off to a great start. I'm crossing my fingers hoping that they will keep this up. I'm happy to say that Level E has met and maybe exceeded my expectation. Granted it wasn't a high expectation but still I was impressed. Also, I'm looking forward for Ki El and Yukitaka fanarts =P
