Aku no Hana

It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.

A Year Older: Again

It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.

Goodbye 2012 and Hallo 2013

So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.

Light Writings: Love II

I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.

Light Writings: Crush II

Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.

First Impression: Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui!

People refer to this anime simply as Watamote and I said in my preview that this show has the potential to please me as a fan. Just look at the protagonist and you know that this has the right condiments to be good.

(c) Maimai Yuki
Oh and I secretly want her to end up with her younger brother ^w^
Watamote it is about a girl who has a really screwed up view of herself. She's unpopular but she has this very positive mindset when it comes to describing herself or if it has anything to do with herself. In reality though, she is just this awkward looking girl with bags under her eyes from playing all those otome games late into the night.

Her askew point of views, in my opinion, are the reason this show is so enjoyable. It's painful to look at her being so wrong about everything that has anything to do with social stuff but at the same time we just couldn't get enough of that. Or at least I can't. I wonder if people like her exist in real life.

One of the highlights of the show for me personally is when she wants to be social adept but whenever she looks at people having conversation and left her out, she has this fucked up conversation in her head about those people and they are most of the time full of sexual innuendos. It goes to show how corrupted her mind is LOL

So yeah, this show is definitely one of the most enjoyable show I've watched this season.

First Impression: Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge

I wasn't sure why didn't I put this anime in the anishit list when I first wrote the preview. I mean, reading the synopsis made me facepalm. An anime about hair is somewhat sounds so pretentious to me and for some reason I somewhat dreading this shit.

Let see if I'm right and that this is going to be one hairy ride.

that loli ass
10 minutes in I know I won't like this show at all so I decided to drop it altogether. Though it wasn't bad, it wasn't good either. Plus I don't understand shit (or my brain refused to do so).

I read a lot about this show on twitter but I somewhat managed to filter them out and so I an sitting here without any expectation whatsoever. Lets hope it can blow my socks away which is going to be a feat since I am not really a fan of mecha to begin with.

(c) pixiv id 3119841

Well, the good thing about this show is, I can not give a fuck about the mecha because the villains, those damn bad sadistic boys, are what makes this show interesting for me. Haruto? Valvrave? I don't give a shit.

I like the fact that L-Elf is one cold blooded murderer. He and his boys are the reason I'm going to continue watching this show.

By the way, I do not appreciate the fact that Haruto turned into Sparkling Edward at the end. What the fuck is that bullshit?

First Impression: Karneval

I know of this series through the manga. The manga is full of bishies so naturally as a fujoshi it quickly becomes one of my favorite manga to read until the day came when I stopped reading manga because I was too busy. So somewhat the series was forgotten. So I'm glad that they decided to make an anime out of it!

(c) M 0514

Well, that feeling of glad doesn't lasted very long. Half way through the first episode I was at lost. I blame it all on myself because I cannot remember anything that I've read from the manga. The only thing I remember are the characters and Circus. Other than that, nada.

So, I feel a little bit disappointed at the show as well at myself. I have high expectation for this show but it didn't satisfy me at all. Having said that I am still gonna watch this. I am sure that it can only get better from here onwards.

By the way, Gareki is  my favorite character when I read the manga. I remember him being more aloof in the manga though.

That's about all I can say from watching this first episode of Karneval. Not much, huh? Not even a rant.

First Impression: Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate

Another show that I am more than ready to dismiss. I hope it serves more than just kids eating food in the food club. That would be another K-ON and I think we all have enough K-ON at the moment. I decided to give this one a try because of the arts and the character designs of which I saw in the preview. Like I said, AIC Build better up their games for this one.

Unfortunately they don't. What I see in the preview does not translated to the animated show. There, I am already disappointed.

because in the anime, they censored it. Also because she's the only likeable character for me personally
(c) Akinashi Yuu
Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate is about a food club that is going to be disbanded soon since it's not productive at all. They just sit there and eat snacks while having yaoi jokes every so often.  So they decided to run for president of the student council and naturally Yuuki was selected to do the honor. The good thing about this show however, it not just that. It has mysteries to uncover. There are certainly villain in this one who ran over a student who is now pretty much brain dead. The said student gathered some evidence of some shit and obviously the villain doesn't want anyone to find out.

So yeah, wasn't bad for a story, except for them eating all those junk food in the club.

Like I said, I was pretty disappointed with how the arts and animation turned out. I was trolled. The character designs are pretty generic and to be honest, most of the characters annoyed the shit out of me, even Yuuki who is voiced by Yuuichi Nakamura. I wasn't sure whether I dislike them because of their personality, character designs or their voices.

Though I am not dropping this show, I wonder if I will ever sit down and watch it at all. Hmm... who knows. Maybe? Perhaps never?

First Impression: Natsuyuki Rendezvous

For some reason I totally forgot about noitaminA shows this season. I can't say that it doesn't has an impact since I did notice people talking about this show a lot on twitter. If I didn't check my preview before I write this first impression post, I would have not noticed that this was featured in the supposedly prestigious list of anime that are featured in noutaminA slot.

Natsuyuki Rendezvous is about this guy Hazuki Natsuyuki who has a crush on a lady who is the owner of a flower shop. That crush turns to love and when opportunity presented itself, he applied to work part time there. He then met the deceased husband Atsushi Shimao, who basically is a ghost, and totally has no respect for the dead even though he's trying to score with Rokka. This show is going to be about acceptance of fate, challenging oneself for the sake of love, and learning to let go when it's time to do so.

Just for the record, I am a fan of Atsushi Shimao. I see a lot of myself in him. At the same time, I am Hazuki who is crushing on his co-worker.

I have no complain about the art, animation, overall sound and other details. I freaking love the OP and ED. It managed to move me the first time I heard it and that's great. Quality anime is full of quality after all.

Watching Natsuyuki Rendezvous is like watching my life gets animated. It wasn't funny or fun at all.  I mean, Rokka and Natsuyuki even work together. That is just too much of a coincidence.

Given my condition at the moment, I have my own reason for delaying with the first impression. I am struggling with my own emotions and feelings towards my crush too so watching this just reminds me a lot about my repressed feelings towards him that it sort of hurts... and as I have feared, I was left with the feelings of bitterness at the end of the episode.

Which mean that this show truly deserved the noitaminA slot, if it can moves me like that. Having said that, I still hate having this feeling though. Just goes to show how fucking vulnerable I really am actually.

If only people bother to see through my facade.

First Impression: Arcana Famiglia

For the first five minutes of the show, I was cringing with disappointment. I thought the setup of the story was too bland as J.C. Staff chose to introduce the Arcana Family through some street brawling. It wasn't impressive at all. Even more so when I found out that this show is categorized as romance and shoujo. I was expecting some good action shounen anime >_>

Regilo is an island that is protected by the vigilante association that call themselves the Arcana Famiglia. The head of the organization is know as "Papa" and he has a daughter who is also part of the gang. Her name is Felicita. The top family members received or rather make a bond with some Arcana card that allows them to use it's power. On his birthday, Mondo decided to let go of his Papa title by picking the winner of the Arcana duel. Those who wins will also get to married Felicita and hence some conflict occurred since she's not willing. This is when her knights in shining armor came to the rescue.

(c) HuneX

I am sure there will be somewhat a love triangle in this story between Liberta, Felicita and Nova. Though it would be funny if all the males become her harem since they are way too old for her.

I do not feel anything towards any of the characters in this show though I thought that Pace is rather cute. Then again, I am always biased when knowing that Sugita Tomokazu is his seiyuu.

Speaking of which, all the seiyuu did a pretty excellent job since they fit with their characters so well. At least this doesn't add to the bitter disappointment of the story itself. Having said that, the OP and the ED are not good at all. I though the ED was rather annoying to be honest.

As for the animation, I was expecting something great if not mind blowing since this is J.C. Staff we are talking about. The end product however was just another average looking anime. I hope the quality of the show improves as the story gets more serious (hopefully).

I can't say that I didn't enjoy the show but on the other hand it is something that is so average, I feel like I have watched the same shit before. It almost put me to sleep.

First Impression: Hyouka

I said in my preview that Hyouka is one of the show that has potential to be great, not just because of Kyoto Animation but the intriguing story line, if the synopsis isn't misleading that is. I have read quite a few opinions about this show on Twitter, especially when it was first released, and some of that opinions weren't exactly encouraging. So here I am several weeks later, trying to form my own opinion about this show.

First few minutes after watching the show, especially after Houtarou met Eru, I got this desperate feeling of wanting to rewatch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya again. Too bad I'm in my office and the DVD of Haruhi is nowhere near me otherwise I would have stopped Hyouka and totally rewatch Haruhi again. Surely I am not the only one with this feeling, am I?

It's pretty obvious, isn't it?
(c) Hayo Kiki

Hyouka is about a boy who is happy leading the "gray" life. His name is Houtarou and he is the kind of person that don't give a fuck about anything but not in the rebellious kind of way. He has a good friend by his side who is the total opposite of him, Satoshi. Houtarou joins the Classic Club at his sister's request. He thought that he would have some quiet time but when he entered the clubroom, there was already a girl there, Chitanda Eru.

It seems like Houtarou is drawn to Chitanda and he has no power to refuse her and her curiosity. I love the metaphor that Kyoto Animation used; Houtarou wrapped up in Chitanda's hair. There are something mysterious and at the same time romantic about it. And just like that, there are three members for the Classic Club that don't do anything classical at all but instead, solving the curiosity of Chitanda.

Since this show is produced by Kyoto Animation, I found no fault in the art and animation. If there is one thing they are good at, it's that. Same goes with the overall sound which includes the seiyuu the songs used for the OP and ED. However, atfirst, because of my desire to watch Haruhi again, I thought that Houtarou would have been perfect if they used Sugita Tomokazu for his seiyuu instead of Yuuichi Nakamura but towards the end of the episode, I have a changed of mind/heart.

Needless to say, I fall in love with this show, just like I did with The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It was pretty much in an instant. I guess it has to do with the characters more than anything else, after all when it is all said and done, I'm the character-driven kind of fan.

Having said that, if every episodes is about Houtarou solving Chitanda's curiosity, I'm not sure how long my interest in this show will last.

First Impression: Shirokuma Cafe

In my preview for the season, I included this show in the anishit list, thinking that it is nothing more than just another children oriented anime. Can you blame me though? It is an anime about animals. I usually have problem taking anime such as this seriously. But maybe this show is not meant to be taken seriously.

From the anime blogsphere's reaction so far, it somehow managed impressed them all. So here I am checking it out of obligation to myself and see whether they have bad taste or I passed judgement too fast.

And it is certainly the latter because though it was not extraordinary, it is certainly not shit.

Shirokuma Cafe, or also known as the Polar Bear's Cafe is indeed a story about some animals who lives among human. When I said live, I mean it. They talk and walk and have a home and a job just like us humans. As the name suggested, the story revolves around Polar Bear's cafe where these animals (some who works at the zoo literally as they are) and humans hang out together.

Panda and Polar Bear. Apparently public's fav OTP >_>

There are three prominent animals in this show: Polar Bear, the owner of the cafe who loves pun; Panda, his lazy ass young neighbor from next door and; Penguin who seems like the most loyal customer of the cafe and good friend of Polar Bear. I find myself more attracted to Polar Bear and Penguin's friendship. Or maybe I'm just biased towards Hiroshi Kamiya =3=

Speaking of seiyuu, I figured that there would be quite a few people who will watch this show for the seiyuu. Perhaps I am one of them retards. I don't have a clue that the characters are voiced by really good (and some are among my favorites) male seiyuu. Should I have given more attention about these details, I wouldn't have waited this long to check this show out. As I've said above, Penguin stood out the most for me because of his seiyuu. The same goes for Panda. They are both made of HHHHHNNNNNGH! It was a perfect match for both.

I have to congratulate the art and animation team from Studio Peirrot for the job well done. I know it must have not been easy to draw and animate expression on animals' faces but I think they managed to capture the emotions brilliantly without these animal losing their animalistic traits. They also have their human-like traits given the nature of the show but I am glad that they still managed to look cute and cuddly at the same time. I just wish they would have given equal effort at designing the human characters lol

When I first heard the OP, I immediately thought that it was sang by Big Bang, a K-Pop group that often sing Japanese songs. It certainly sounds like it could be one of their songs. It is catchy and I like it a lot already. As for the ED, it has that Jun-Fukuyama-being-moe feels to it. I REJECT!

But I am not letting that bad ED gets to me.

Because the humor of Shirokuma Cafe works for me. They don't force it down my throat in which they are pretty similar to the comedy of "Kill Me Baby" or "Daily Lives of High School Boys". Aside from that, this show don't have much to offer. Just like the two examples, it is just as pointless. Having said that, it doesn't mean that it is not enjoyable.

So ladies and gentlewomen, I stand corrected about this show.

First Impression: Last Exile ~Fam, The Silver Wing~

Last Exile is in my anime show with potential list for this Fall and since I'm late a few days, I have seen how the aniblogsphere absolutely been raving for this show. A good sign indeed. The time has cometh for me to see what the hype is all about.

It takes a while for the story makes sense to me since I have not watched the original (thouggh I bought the DVD many moons ago Orz) but I really don't mind that much because the show is brilliant with the pacing. Fam is one of the Sky Pirates who always seek to hit the First Harpoon. According to the rules, whoever hits the target first will have the right to decide on how to proceed with the assault of taking over the target ships. On the day where Turan Kingdom is supposed to sign a peace treaty with Ades Federation, Fam and her Sky Pirates crew become a hero when they save the two princess of Turan from the Ades Federation who betrays them as they declared war upon Turan Kingdom.

Ah why do bad guys look so delicious? I wanna tap Hafez's ass so badly.

I love the fact that this show isn't just about Fam, but how they come up with strategies to catch those Skyships. It definitely gets me caught up in the moment and I find myself just as excited as Fam's ship crew when she sends out that signal flares. I wanna be a Sky Pirate too!

Needless to say I am very impressed with the animation, and not just with the 3D aircraft. I'm absolutely sold. Hand it over to Gonzo for flying airships. Maybe it's my double standard for the studio, but I am pretty surprised to see Gonzo coming up with something that is fresh. All those places in the show are believable and nicely done. They are definitely serious this time after since their comeback with Nyanpire: The Animation. Gone are the day of Blassreiter heh.

I have seen some very great improvement in female protagonists this season. I usually has absolutely no love for them because they are either stupid, moe or stupid. But things have changed for the better. They are more capable of taking care of themselves with an attitude, looks and intelligence that should make Paris Hilton envious. Just in this show alone, I'm awestruck by both Fam, Dio and Sophia. I'm loving it.

This show has no fault as of yet, probably because i haven' seen the original so I'm less critical about it. Last Exile definitely moves up a rank in my list. Now it's a much watch.

For all of those who are in Asia, you can watch Last Exile ~Fam, The Silver Wing~ same day as Japan on Animax starting October 15, every Saturday at 8pm! You can learn more about it here: http://www.animax-asia.com/shows/lastexile. First Impression: Guilty Crown

I wasn't too impress with UN-GO so here I am hoping that Guilty Crown could make up for what is lacking in that other noitaminA series.

(c) Redjuice

Ouma Shu is a socially awkward student who is currently living in a quasi-independent Japan. He is not happy with what has Japan turned into after the Apocalypse Virus weakened the country to the point that it has to be dependent on other countries, even after all these years. One day he met with Inori, an Egoist singer who is also deemed as a terrorist since she is a member of the Funeral Parlor. Inori was badly hurt and the "authority" found her and took her into custody in front of Shu. This just pressured Shu to do something. Shit can't go down like this forever y'all!

Inori left Funell, her pet robot there. Inside of it is Void Genome that Inori stole. She must give it to Gai at all cost. This presents the perfect opportunity for Shu to retaliate and redeem himself. Gai is actually so fucking hot and so fucking badass, I think I'm gonna die just watching him being so fucking awesome. He fucking kills people with a smile plastered on his face. Oh shit I think I just came LMAO

whats not to fap?
(c) Redjuice

The authority is willing to go to any length to get it back including mass genocide in pretext that they are "infected". Sounds familiar doesn't it? Well, that's what happened when you let the most powerful country (read US of A) "help" you. You are in fact selling your soul to the devil. I am just most thankful to Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohammad for not turning to IMF when the world economy collapsed in 1998. He knew what would happened if we did just that. Instead he tied our currency to MYR3.80 and that save our butt and thus let us continue to be independent. That is why he is my hero.

Anyhoo, back to the show. I am not crazy about "putting your hand inside of someone's chest to obtain absolute power whatevershit". It lacks originality (Code Geass/Dantalian no Shouka anyone?) and even though the Guilty Crown looks bad ass, in the hand of Shu, it is just... blurgh. Why does a coward good for nothing character always gets the girl and the cool gadgets? I never realized that it actually pissed me off until I watched this show. Maybe I'm just getting sick of the same platform being used over and over again. I mean, why can't Gai gets the Guilty Crown? Why does Shu, someone who doesn't know the fuck about anything gets it and given the opportunity to be a hero? Does it supposed to represent hope for the losers? Well, here's a bad news: in real life, you will remain a loser if you believe this shit.

Having said that, Production I.G. does not disappoint me this time around. Besides Gai, the stunning arts nd animation are definitely one of the strong reasons why I'm liking this show despite the infuriating story line and shallow protagonists (both Inori and Shu). The other good reasons are the songs. It was beautifully sang and even though I'm not a fan of Inori the wench, I have to admit, her singing is captivating.

Did I enjoy this more than UN-GO? Though the story sort of something that I've seen too many time before, it was beautifully done and thus credits go to Production I.G for the brilliant execution. Here I am hoping that they develop the story nicely so this one could turn out great otherwise it would be another flop.

Conclusion: There is nothing about the story that excites me but my b0nar for the animation wins the inner battle. I'm not losing my faith on noitaminA just yet and that is indeed a good news.

First Impression: Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai!

Oh fuck. I was ready to hate this show when I saw that one of the character has Tomokazu Sugita as it's seiyuu. Not only him, but it looks like almost all my favorite male seiyuu is in this show. Damn... I might just changed my mind about this show. This better be good and funny otherwise I would have to slit my wrist. This is like Miracle Train all over again.

(c) kawagishi keitarou

I swear that watching this show is like watching Ikkitousen to a certain extend. They even have almost the same kind of characters for the show. I am honestly just lost for words. I mean... Ikkitousen is in my most hated anime list, so I don't see how this show would be any different when the setup is so damn similar. Jeebus, can't they do something original anymore? At least changed the character design! I see Ryoumou Shimei and Kan'u Unchou on the get go. If that's not weird enough, we even have that old fuck Yamaji making a cameo. WTF?

That's when I know I shouldn't be taking this show seriously. They just have so many cameo I have lost track.

This show is random. It reminds me of Baka to Test to Shoukanjii in a way. I can't even find words to explain what the episode is all about. You just have to see it for yourself. And guess what? I did have fun watching this shit. On to episode 2 then.

10 August 2011

First Impression: Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi

Whenever I see a word usagi in an anime title, it quickly reminds me of Sensitive Pornograph. That second story is my favorite after all :)

However, I don't think this show would be something that is up my alley. One look at the ecchi tag, I know that I would have a major reservation of liking this one. I probably gonna end up raging instead. Maybe.

5 minutes in, I already can't stand Taito. He is just clueless. All that mushy mushy stuff with Haruka just makes me dislike him further. He had a recurring dream of Heima, the vampire who made him her slave when he was small. Naturally it's only a matter of time before he remembers it all again. This of course puts Haruka at a disadvantage for Taito can never likes her since he's the property of Heima.

Thankfully there's Gekkou (who is voiced by Yuuichi Nakamura btw *fangirling*) who at least makes this a tad more interesting. Gekkou is the typical character of Yuuichi, an emo dude but the most good looking boy in school and also the president of the student council. He treats other people like trash, which reminds me of Ulquiorra, and thus that makes him even more charming. Not to mention that he is probably the villain in this stupid show. Bad boys are always a winner in my book. Did I mention that he also wield a sword? Yup, I just came in my pantsu.

tell me honestly now, what's not to like about Kurenai Gekkou ♥

Taito got in an accident and was decapitated. Hah, this is how he remembers who Heima is, who by the way has been tortured somewhere in an alternate world while waiting for him. His body healed in an instant. Since he practically dead, this means that Heima power is back. Also, Andou, the demon girl that was overpowered by Gekkou, witness the accident, there's no way Gekkou wouldn't know about it now.

Thus things can only get more interesting from now on, especially since Gekkou seems to have a lot of hate for Taito.

I can't say that the seiyuu other than Yuuihi did a good job for the interactions between characters seem forced and thus makes everything sounds like fake. This obviously doesn't help the show since the story itself is pretty stupid and cliche.

Having said that, there are couple of occurrence in this show that makes me laugh my ass off. It was unexpected so I guess it wasn't all that bad really. Also, thank goodness that the ecchi doesn't makes me want to burn my computer. It's something that I can tolerate. But there is something that makes me rage though. The supposedly called romance between Himea and Taito. It makes me want to fucking puke.

Urgh fuck. I'm undecided. In a long run, I will probably drop this though.

First Impression: Sekaiichi Hatsukoi

The only yaoi/BL show of the season (I'm not including Sex Pistol because it's an OVA) so naturally it was compulsory for me to watch it. The animation for this one definitely reminds me of Junjou Romantica, quite possibly the worst yaoi show I have ever watched.

Ritsu Onodera knew and acknowledge himself as gay even when he's in high school. In fact he was quite a stalker. This lifestyle of his lasted until he's an adult. From what little flashback that they show, he was quite a player.

He worked at his family's publishing house but when he heard his co-worker thought that he's using his connection, he quit to prove himself that he can be successful with his own effort. He was then assigned to the shoujo department and met the Editor-in-Chief who is quite an asshole (duh). He's good at what he do though so that's how he earns Ritsu's respect (and eventually his ass as well). And as I have expected, Takano is actually the same guy that Ritsu confessed his love at the start of the episode. Only in yaoi XD

The good thing about this show is, it doesn't feel rushed. Other yaoi (like Junjou), the protagonists can't seem to wait to get into each other buttholes. Sekaiichi Hatsukoi takes it time marinating that part until it's totally appropriate and/or reaches it peak. The kissing part was totally unexpected (on Ritsu's part that is) and it makes me chuckled because it didn't lace with fake feelings.

I got to say that I really enjoy Ritsu's monologue. I found it entertaining because most of the time, it turns out funneh. He's witty. Also, since they work in a shoujo department, I get to learn some the process of creating a successful manga (even though I don't read shoujo). At least I'm not totally clueless as why the pages sometimes so white and sparkly...

I'm not familiar with Takashi Kondo but since Ritsu sounds so sexy sometimes, I have no choice but acknowledge that he is good at what he does. The other seiyuus are quite a line-up (Katsuyuki Konishi makes Takano came to live) but their characters are yet to be introduced. It just something that makes me look forward to the next episode.

The OP is shit though and thankfully the ED kinda better (but not really). I'll skip both of them the next time I watch this show.

Enjoyable? Fuck yes if you love yaoi.

First Impression: Starry☆Sky

Reverse harem? Why not just total BL instead? If it was, I would be the first to raise my hands and claim this as my favorite even before I've seen the episodes. As it is, this is still targeted for the female audience. I doubt many males would want to see some bunch of guys chasing the the only female in school.

The start was weak as fuck. We got the protagonist reminiscing as he looked at the sky and queue flashback. When he was a child, he met a girl who he spent time with doing nothing but staring at the night sky. Boring stuff especially when I know what to expect for the entire show in less than 10 minutes into the episode. That is definitely not good. I already know that the protagonist will do whatever it takes to meet the same girl that he fell for when he was a kid and it just so happened the same gal is going to the same school that he is transferring to. Cliche as fuck.

(If you feel like all these setups looks familiar, that's because it is: La Corda D'Oro ~primo passo~)

Well, this is a show full of bishies so I can't complain much when it comes to character designs even though they all look like your typical bishounen. So I guess I had to complain about that. I just wish they paid more intention to details and the animation was really terrible. It's like they don't even bother trying. Fuck you Studio DEEN. Not when you have a whole bunch of bishounen at your disposal.

I usually channel my hatred to the subject of reverse harem but not in this case. At least not yet. I am actually disappointed with Kenichi Suzumura's performance in this show. It was as weak as the fucking show itself. It is hard for me to dislike a bishounen but yes I dislike Tomoe the moment he opened his mouth. HOWEVER! I didn't expect to hear Sugita Tomokazu in this one. Or Jun Fukuyama or Yuuichi Nakamura or Mamoru Miyano or Junichi Suwabe or Kamiya Hiroshi. Fuck, now I feel like I'm obligated to watch this shit just like with Miracle Train, which I have yet to complete.

The good news is, each episode is only 12 minutes long. That will save you from permanent brain injury. There's only one way for me to watch this shit. That is if Tomoe Yoh sucks my imaginary dick. Better yet, why not the whole bunch of bishounen do just that. Then maybe I might actually enjoy this piece of shit.

oh fuck yes! :D

Having said that, I am really looking forward for all the potential yaoi/BL fanarts >:3

First Impression: Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai

The show started with a sister waking up her brother for school. I have seen this kind of scene numerous times before. Usually it's either the brother waking up with a morning wood and get released with the help of his sister, or the sister initiated the morning wood. Thank goodness that this didn't turn out quite like that.

Kousuke Kousaka, the brother in question, was actually very doubtful of his sister's attention because usually his sister just kinda pretends that he does not exist. Oh wait, that is just him dreaming. Obviously this guy has a sister-complex thus the title of the show.

He found a DVD with a really innocent cover but very devious content. I'm sure it's an eroge of incest. Just a nudge that he needed >> Only a pervert with sick mind like him would feel guilty when found something like that. Other brothers would just leave it at the place where he found them, after they watched and fapped to it quietly.

But I guess I have to remember that the hero is usually have that admirable trait about him. So he found the culprit and was very cool about it. Heh, just a tactic to enslave his little sister I tell ya!

And it works! It really did! His sister has a 180 changed of attitude. She even woke him in the middle of the night and asked him to go to her room. Lucky bastard.

*chuckles* if only that was true. Unfortunately all she wants is a life counseling as she showed him how much of an otaku she really is. To be precise, she is obsessed with anything that has "little sister" in it. Damn, now I feel sorry for Kyousuke. Obviously he doesn't stand a chance. Kirono is gay. But he's not going to give up as he promised to keep her secret. Hoping one day she'll realized how big a sacrifice that is and called him Nii-chan in bed.

Hahaha fuck, I am such a perverted psycho.

I guess it does feel pretty cool when I start listening to Kirino excitedly and proudly explaining the anime stuffs and presented her collections to Kyousuke. That's how I am too when I talk about anime. I believe many of us found this scene relate-able. I kinda hope they used real anime shows and manga as reference, like Bakuman did. That would make this show more cool. But, did I see a figure from Lucky.Star?

I understand the frustrated feeling in your guts, Kirino

So I can't really not like Kirino. She reminds me of myself except that I don't have a little-sister complex. My obsession is just yaoi. As for Kyousuke, I can't really take him seriously so far. He just lack that commanding attitude about him. But he is kinda charming.

The art and animation for this show is commendable. They gave a 100% and this can be seen with the smallest details. For example when Kyousuke pour drink from a box. It makes me happy to see the details of the drink filling up the glass. Having said that, I do have a slight irritation with how the female characters all walking with a constant blush. It feels like they are always in a heat or something. Also the animation kinda a little sharp at times too. Aniplex and AIC Build must have tried their hard knowing that the fans of the novel will murder them if they don't. I mean, there are plenty of Kirino figures out there even before the anime exists, just goes to show how big of a fanbase it has.

I have said in my review for Zettai Karen Children OVA that I would remember Yuuichi Nakamura. I am so happy with myself that I fulfilled that part. When Kyousuke open his mouth I jumped with glee. Yuuichi is definitely turning out to be my top three male seiyuus. As for Kirono... Fuck, I really need to pay attention to the female seiyuu as well. According to MAL, Kirono is voiced by Ayana Taketatsu. Now that I have looked at her disco, she does sounds familiar. Speaking of sounds, I didn't remember if this show has an OP/ED. If they have, I certainly don't remember them. Yay for being redundant!

I don't read the novel so I don't know what is going on. However it was interesting that they covered the otaku part. I mean, I'm very open about liking anime and such. My family knows about it. My friends too. They may think I am weird but they don't say it to my face and even if they do, I don't give a damn. Their opinion does not define who I am. So to see a Japanese family member being so reserved about it... now, that is weird. Is the community outside of Japan more open to otaku-ness than in Japan itself?

Overall, I do enjoy this show. It's either because of Yuuichi or the fact that this show is about a girl that I can relate too. Probably both. I am definitely more than willing for round 2.

Zettai Karen Children OVA

(c) kink

For some weird reason, I get addicted to Zettai Karen Children. After I finished the 51 episodes, I quickly jumped to the manga and has been following the series ever since. So naturally I'm ecstatic with the release of this OVA titled Changing Love! Take Back the Stolen Future? It was released on July 16, 2010 and it took me this long to watch it because of the same reason why I am not up to date at all with my summer anime: life.

The OVA takes place a few years after the Children last appearance in anime so they are more well developed. If you read the manga then you are happy to notice that even the PANDRA children has joined the Children at their school which mean, Yuri/Feather/Phantom Daughter is around too.

The OVA started with Minamoto seemingly hijacked and attacked the BABEL organization. Then he went and kidnapped the Children. I don't need to be a genius to figure out that this is all a fluke. Minamoto would never do something like that unless someone (read: Yuri/Feather/Phantom Daughter) is manipulating and controlling him which exactly what's going on.

Needless to say I am pissed off with the development. I hate Yuri/Feather/Phantom Daughter from the very beginning so my reaction is a no surprised. What is more upsetting though is the fact that Minamoto can be so damn vulnerable. He let Yuri/Feather/Phantom Daughter kissed him and took control of his body and mind! Grrr... Grow some balls, Minamoto.

Suddenly Kaoru is no longer the queen but Yuri/Feather/Phantom Daughter is? Where the fuck is Hyoubu? He should straightens this shit up. Only Kaoru can be the queen for the espers. That's why she's so awesome. And just like the dark hero he is, Hyoubu appeared to console and coach the broken-hearted Kaoru.

Of course in the end all things went back to normal as they thwarted Yuri/Feather/Phantom Daughter's plan.

The story line for this OVA might be meh but the production team went to great length to make it clear in this OVA of the canon pairing of Kaoru and Minamoto so I'm a happy camper about that. I've been rooting for them even when Kaoru acted like an old man and sneaked around to see the girls pantsu. I approved.

The art and animation haven't differed much from the first season. They still wear unusual villain clothes and shit like that. I found it rather funny actually since the series looks like it was targeted for the younger children/teen but the manga has that "mature" tag to it. The irony.

Aya Hirano is still the seiyuu for Kaoru so obviously she does a good job at it. For the first time I though Yuuichi Nakamura sounds mighty sexy. I guess the plot kinda acquired Minamoto to have a sexy voice. I'm definitely going to remember him now, along with Tomokazu Sugita and Jun Fukuyama. The OP and ED still have that quality to it that will only remind you of the series without even have to second guess. I like the BGM during Minamoto and Hyoubu encounter before the real fight unfortunately I have no idea who sang it or what is the title of that song. It was pretty cool.

You can probably deduced of the character that I like the most (Kaoru) to my least favorite character (Yuri/Feather/Phantom Daughter) so I am not going to repeat myself here.

All and all, I like this OVA. It wasn't spectacular but it is something that will probably lead to second season of this series. I'll look forward to that. Let's make it official that I am now is gay for Kaoru as well

First Impression: Ookiku Furikabutte ~Natsu no Taikai Hen~

This is definitely the anime that I looked forward to the most. I can't get enough of the first season. If you have yet to see the first season, WTF are you doing? Watch it NIAO! Or damn on you.

Trust me. It's worth it. Even Baka-Raptor endorsed Oofuri (I'm just shooting in the dark here but I remember reading he said so when he comment in one of Glo's post in his ISSS or I could just making up story. Either way, Oofuri is great. Period. Those who said otherwise can suck my detached analog stick).

The second season started where it left off in season 1. I remember who Riou is and since I did read the manga (although is way behind the latest chapters), I guess they'll stick with the story from the manga.

This is going to be an intense second season. That much I can tell from the backstabbing and strategy they set up in the first episode.

Knowing this obviously made me nervous as hell for Tajima. Oh yeah, lets established that Tajima is my most favorite character in Oofuri. He is the most energetic and talented player out of the bunch. They would have lost a lot of game in season one if not for him. Abe comes second. And the rest of the baseball team come in third. You might hate the weak-willed Mihashi but I can't bring myself to do so. Yeah sure he can be annoying with his pussiness but he delivers.

From top left: Abe, Tajima, Mihashi, Izumi and Nishihiro.
Botton from left: Oki, Mizutani, Suyama, Sakaeguchi, Hanai and Momoe (the Coach)

In conclusion, I'm going to be a bias fucker and urge everyone to watch this series. You'll fall in love with it, I swear. Even if you don't, you'll learn to appreciate it. I mean, I know nuts about baseball until I watched the first season of Oofuri and now I'm hooked. It makes me interested in sports anime as well.

First Impression: Dance in the Vampire Bund

This is the most awaited anime of Winter 2009 (for me personally) because the promised of carnage or at least bloodfest. I love bloodfest. Bloodfest is yummy ^w^

*chuckles*

Oh they tease us so! I was like WTF is going on LOL.

The show started in a studio for a television program called Astra Balance, to approve or disapprove the existence of vampires. During that little skit, a kid from Romania, obviously the bloody protagonist (or known as Her Highness) appeared as well as the Queen of Vampires. The reason? To trap the vampire that have been rampaging around killing up to 7 victims.

I lol'd hard as I shake my head when I saw the true nature of the lowly vampire. A fucking chameleon? WTF?!

I lol'd even more when two girls appeared to protect the Queen of Vampire. OMG a maid? Can't it be more cliche?

But the ending (kinda) make up for the lack of action in the three quarters of the episode. Her Highness revealed who she really is and apparently has her subordinate around for disposal. So her coming on TV is to let the humans know that the vampire will no longer be in hiding and will take some Tokyo's land to build a bund for the vampires.

loli-vampire is NOT attractive

*sigh* I expect some brutal action and bloodfest but there is none of that. She just commanded the Chameleon to die and he exploded. Meh. That's not how action should be done.

The art ain't splendid either. Well at least it does little to impress me.

I am really disappointed. Actually that was an understatement. Looks like I have to rely on Durarara!! and Katanagatari for (hopefully) more quality anime. Sheesh what the fuck is going on with 2009?

But all is not lost. Mina mentioned Kira's name and he's a bishie so at least there is a reason to continue watching Vampire Bund ^^

You better not disappoint

Maybe if I am a lolicon, I might actually enjoyed this? Did I mention that it has jiggling boobs? I dunno man... :(
