Aku no Hana

It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.

A Year Older: Again

It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.

Goodbye 2012 and Hallo 2013

So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.

Light Writings: Love II

I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.

Light Writings: Crush II

Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.

The only reason I'm excited as fuck for this show is because it's produced by A-1 Pictures. I hope this show can somewhat compensate for what is lacking in Servant x Service. On top of that, this is the only show that is featured in noitaminA for this season. That should be a good sign, isn't it?

My first impression was Moyashimon. That's what this show reminds me of during the first few seconds what with the agriculture theme going on. However, it is in my opinion, more enjoyable. Or maybe I'm just biased as fuck because it's my favorite studio that is producing it XD

err... yeah, don't asked about the fanart. I just thought Hachiken looks cute as a trap
Anyhoo, it's about Hachiken who enrolled to a agriculture school just because it's a boarding school and doesn't want to go home. The other students have either ambition that has something to do with agriculture or simply taking over their family business. He has zero knowledge on agriculture and expected to ace the normal subject. I LOL'd when he called the others dumb but when they started to talk about science, he was left eon's behind.

Seemingly Hachiken has trouble adapting to farm life especially when he has problem eating an egg when he found out that it comes from the anus (technically it's called cloaca). However, it seems like the farm life suits him best. He has four team members that are pretty helpful too.

I love the comedic part and the plot is definitely something that most of us aren't familiar with, unless of course if you are into agriculture. I think it's fresh and appreciate the fact that they weren't pretentious about it. It showed how hard the farmers/agriculture people work for us to get all the food on our table.

Thank you A-1 Pictures for fulfilling my expectation for this show. I enjoy it a lot and this one is going to stay in my must watch list.

Anime for lolicons. That's my first thought when I read the synopsis in the preview. Since I am not a lolicon, I figured I will be stressing out when I watch this anime. Hopefully though not to the point where I start questioning why are we letting such anime exist. Furthermore, it's about magic. I do not like magical stuff.

It's pretty much about Akira who inherited her late mother's ability in fortune telling. Turned out she has super power and she's not the only one. Together, they become somewhat a Power Ranger. Naturally when there's power, there will be villains though it is still unclear who they could be.

The plot is weak in my opinion. Nothing particularly stands out. The animation was average, the seiyuus sound annoying and I was bored to death.

Not gonna watch this. Too childish for me. It's not shit though. Just not my cup of tea.

First Impression: Love Lab

Ah, it says romance as one of it's genre. I see no guy in the character list which mean this is going to be a shoujo-ai anime. Not really my thing and I'm sure after this episode, I will drop this. Or maybe it's so good that it can turn me into a yuri fan. Who knows right?

(c) Hao
The animation is definitely one of the strongest point for this show. The character designs especially are very appealing. When they revealed Riko, she was quick to get my attention because the studio managed to capture her personality when they created her. Her clothes, hair and the way she strutted around school, it was flawless. Same goes when it comes to the comedic part of the show; the chibi-fied characters and their facial expressions were on the spot.

This is one of those anime that is character-driven. Lucky for us the studio managed to create two female protagonists without one character out-balance the other. Though the relationship formed between them is somewhat forceful in the plot, the interaction and the chemistry between them weren't so that it becomes comedy seamlessly.

And since we talked about plot, lets get into it right away. Riko is the 'tomboy' and Maki is the 'damsel'. Both are admired by the students. One thing led to another and suddenly Riko has to teach Maki about love. Sounds cliche but it wasn't. I thought it was fresh (maybe because I have never seen any shoujo-ai anime). Most importantly, it wasn't pretentious which is a good thing otherwise I would have hated it.

There's this part where Riko's male friends said that she is just like one of the guys so that they don't have to worry about falling for her because it won't happen. Well, during my school years, I experienced just that. To be honest, I was worried. But then, after high school is over, the guys kinda wanna date me. This included the guys I met during college years. All of my four exs were my best friends. I have no freaking idea what happened... they might have a sudden revelation that I'm awesome as fuck but yeah... what I'm trying to say is, Riko actually still has hope to have a heterosexual relationship.

It's not often (more like, never) that I laughed my ass off watching two females of who I know going to have feelings for each other. Love Lab managed to do so which is somehow a feat in it's own right.

What I'm going to say is, I'm glad that I checked this out. Though it didn't turn me into a yuri fan (yet), it does makes me wanna see more of the series. I enjoyed the comedy a lot. Recommended!

First Impression: Servant x Service

This show is automatically in my MUST WATCH list simple because it's produced by A-1 Pictures. Why? Well, that's my most favorite studio, is why! But then again, there are several shows from this studio that I dropped like Oreimo for example because there's character that I cannot tolerate in it.

Servant x Service sounds just like a show that I will try to avoid. In my head, anything that has the word servant and service in it's title has ecchi written all over the plot. But I have faith in the studio. Even if there are fan services, I hope they remain classy.

And I was right. The only fan service you'll get is the bouncing of melons. I'm okay with that.

But the plot is weak. Too weak. The animation was average too. It somewhat doesn't really feel A-1 Picture-ish. I expected something more... well-developed.

It's about this three characters being employed at civil service office, with their hopeless supervisor. Each has personality of their own: Lucy wants revenge because of her name (like I said, weak plot is weak), Miyoshi is timid, Chihaya is stoic, Ichimiya is somewhat useless imo and Hasebe to liven up the dull office. Nothing much going on. Hopefully they'll develop some romance between Lucy and Hasebe along the way but I doubt it.

You know that a show is average as fuck when you can't find any fan made drawings of them. Mediocre is a pretty fitting word to describe this show.

But because it's A-1 Pictures, I'll try my best to keep up with it. I hope it won't get any stupider though.

I read a lot about this show on twitter but I somewhat managed to filter them out and so I an sitting here without any expectation whatsoever. Lets hope it can blow my socks away which is going to be a feat since I am not really a fan of mecha to begin with.

(c) pixiv id 3119841

Well, the good thing about this show is, I can not give a fuck about the mecha because the villains, those damn bad sadistic boys, are what makes this show interesting for me. Haruto? Valvrave? I don't give a shit.

I like the fact that L-Elf is one cold blooded murderer. He and his boys are the reason I'm going to continue watching this show.

By the way, I do not appreciate the fact that Haruto turned into Sparkling Edward at the end. What the fuck is that bullshit?

First Impression: Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate

Another show that I am more than ready to dismiss. I hope it serves more than just kids eating food in the food club. That would be another K-ON and I think we all have enough K-ON at the moment. I decided to give this one a try because of the arts and the character designs of which I saw in the preview. Like I said, AIC Build better up their games for this one.

Unfortunately they don't. What I see in the preview does not translated to the animated show. There, I am already disappointed.

because in the anime, they censored it. Also because she's the only likeable character for me personally
(c) Akinashi Yuu
Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate is about a food club that is going to be disbanded soon since it's not productive at all. They just sit there and eat snacks while having yaoi jokes every so often.  So they decided to run for president of the student council and naturally Yuuki was selected to do the honor. The good thing about this show however, it not just that. It has mysteries to uncover. There are certainly villain in this one who ran over a student who is now pretty much brain dead. The said student gathered some evidence of some shit and obviously the villain doesn't want anyone to find out.

So yeah, wasn't bad for a story, except for them eating all those junk food in the club.

Like I said, I was pretty disappointed with how the arts and animation turned out. I was trolled. The character designs are pretty generic and to be honest, most of the characters annoyed the shit out of me, even Yuuki who is voiced by Yuuichi Nakamura. I wasn't sure whether I dislike them because of their personality, character designs or their voices.

Though I am not dropping this show, I wonder if I will ever sit down and watch it at all. Hmm... who knows. Maybe? Perhaps never?

First Impression: Sword Art Online

One of the few anime I look forward to this season for the simple fact that it is produced by A-1 Pictures. Yes, I am officially a studio-fag now.

Sword Art Online is a virtual game that allowed the players get into the game and mentally moves their body like they normally would. It was the first day the game was released officially and thousands of players gathered in that virtual world only to be trolled by the creator: they can't log out unless they clear the game. If they forced it then they are dead. If they didn't survive the game, their dead as well.

a daughter? already? >_>

Our protagonist, Kirito, was a player for the beta version so obviously he has some advantage. He kinda has  a complex - most possibly an extreme introvert. So it would be interesting to see him overcome all his inner conflict. I can't say much about the other characters because the only one they have introduce is Klein who is a noob and the first friend Kirito made in SOA.

Watching SOA somehow reminds me of Brave Hearts. Go figure. Also, the virtual online thingy, if you are a big fan of D.J. Machale's Pendragon series, then it should occurred to you that Veelox and SOA shared something similar. Kirito even said it himself: He thinks that the virtual world feels more real than the real world. I know some if not most of us can relate to that.

Being a biased jerk that I am, I can't find no fault in the arts, animation, seiyuu, BGM, OP or the ED which means I like it. As I have said in my preview, this show is definitely a must watch show for me.

I'm pretty sure most people disagree with me but meh who cares.

First Impression: Natsuiro Kiseki

I suspected that there is no in between for this show. It’s either I like it or I don’t. Judging from the synopsis from the preview, there are higher percentages that I would end up raging about it. However, I told myself not to jump into conclusion just by those few words of introduction. So far I ended up liking Sengoku Collection when I first thought that it would be shit. There’s the chance that this show might end up just like that, isn’t it?

(c) Hidari
The dorama started right of the bat with Natsumi and Saki fought while Rin and Yuka tried to reconcile them. These are four good friends who have been together since their fourth grade. They always wished upon a big rock at the temple and in attempt to make Natsumi and Saki friends again before Saki moves to Tokyo, Yuka and Rin gathered them around the big rock where they fought some more. Accidentally Rin wished that she could fly and apparently this wish was echoed by her friends. Before they knew it, they were indeed flying in the sky. It was kinda cool.

At first I thought that this show is just another idol anime but glad that it wasn’t just that. I like the fact that they put in some dorama and conflicts in the plot. It gave the show some depth that I found lacking in other idol anime, and AKB0048 was the latest example of that.

Oh wait, my mistake. This show is put under the slice of life tag >_>
The art and animation are decent with nothing actually stands out. The character designs could have been more creative. The girls each have different personality though they are kinda the typical archetype characters; Natsumi the leader, Saki the logical, Rin the quiet girl and Yuka the energetic. I personally like Yuka the best simply because of the positive energy she brings.

Since this show can be considered as an idol anime, naturally the songs have that idol feel to it. They are pretty good to be honest. I don’t find them obnoxious at all, like I did with AKB0048 songs. Urgh *shudders*

I am glad that I gave this show a chance. Turned out I did like it. I didn’t rage at all. Not even for a moment. It’s quite an accomplishment I must say.

First Impression: Tsuritama

Surely by now you would have known that I am a fan of A-1Pictures. They didn't come out with any anime last season so I was really looking forward to watching two of their anime this season and Tsuritama is definitely one of it, especially so since it is featured in noitaminA and Tomokazu Sugita is one of the seiyuu. But then I started notice people's reactions to the show and though it doesn't dampened my excitement, it sure does rings some warning bells in my brain, just so that I won't be disappointed at the end of this episode.

Having said that, I can understand why people are whining about this show, especially you boys: it is featuring the story of four boys. If they were girls, I am sure the reactions would be different indeed.

Well, thank goodness that I didn't let others' opinions influenced me because I ended up enjoying every second of Tsuritama and dare I say it that my faith in noitaminA has been restored!

It is a show that I can't figure out how it will end after watching the first episode which is always a good thing. Predictability can be so cliche and I am not that good at dealing with cliche shit. Tsuritama starts with a tale of dragon with five heads that darkened an island with horrors and such until a goddess appeared one day from a purple sky. The dragon then fell in love with the goddess and before I knew it, there's Haru, one of the boys, who claimed himself to be an alien. He certainly has abilities of controlling people using his water pistol and communicating with fish. It looks like he was searching for something until he found Yuki, whose grandmother is quite hawt to be honest, and has some panic issue. He wants to be normal but has problem dealing with attentions. He transferred to the city by the sea because his grandmother got a new job there. The two of them are Natsuki's classmate. Natsuki is the prince of fishing - oh did I forget to mention that this show has a lot to do with fish and sea? - and has quite a cold persona, which is his charm in my opinion ♥

The first time they met, they were brought together by Haru who brainwashed them to go fishing with him. Yuki seeming has found something in fishing that might help him with his panic attack - and friends too - something that he always wanted.

But they are being watched by Akira, some sort of a prince who is always with a goose, and surrounded by bodyguards. It is still not clear who he is and what his deal is but the episode definitely got me interested in finding out more about everything.

I think Ryota Ohsaka does a really good job at voicing Yuki, given the fact that he is a novice. Yuki is not a one dimensional character and if he can carry his character well, I'm sure he has a bright future as seiyuu right in front of him. Needless to say, given the 1 minute introduction, was enough to makes me giddy of Akira simply because of Tomokazu Sugita. Haru's voice is rather annoying but I think it fits perfectly with the kind of character that he is which says a lot of his seiyuu, Miyu Irino. Kouki Uchiyama deep and serious voice makes me fall for Natsuki so yeah needless to say, I am a fan of all four :D

Everything about Tsuritama is vibrant and bizarre, starting with the character all the way to the animation and arts, which I must say, is something that I love to see in many other A-1 Pictures. It gives the feelings of watching a mix anime between SHAFT and Toei animation. Speaking of which, Tsuritama is directed by Kenji Nakamura, the same genius who directed Mononoke and C. Knowing this just makes my expectation for this show grows exponentially. It is rather careless of me, I know, because this could end up to be another Fractale but hey as long as I'm entertained, I won't complain much.

Yes, I know that I am biased as fuck. Aren't you?

Which mean I love the OP and ED too, especially the ED ^____^

Like I've said, it looks like I am most likely gonna spend my Spring watching A-1 Pictures anime and nothing else.

Bleach: Hell Verse - Jigoku-hen

Jigoku-hen or Hell Verse is the fourth movies for Bleach. I have no idea why I waited this long to watch this movie when I have the file on my computer since last two months. I feel slightly guilty towards Ichigo and Rukia. But hey, better late than never, right?

This movie was directed by the same director that did the other three movies, Noriyuki Abe but have different writers: Masahiro Okubo and Natsuko Takahashi. This movie is also sticking with Shiro Sagisu for the music score. I'm not complaining because he's good with what he does. I'm sure Daniel will agree with me on this one. The ending theme however is sang by T.M. Revolution which I know from watching Soul Eater. I first learned about the movie through the promotional chapter that was released around November last year titled Imaginary Number 01: The Unforgivens.

The movie starts with the Ulquiorra versus hollow Ichigo fight on top of the Hueco Mundo dome. I think I repeated that fight for at least 10 times before I proceed with the rest of the movie. It was just too fucking awesome that I couldn't get enough of it. This movie is off to a good start.

This movie reminds us a lot of the old Bleach. I mean, right after that awesome fight, it shows Ichigo normal routines as a teenage boy. It is just like episode/chapter 1 of Bleach which is just great in my opinion. We have seen too much unnecessary drama lately in both the anime and manga that I feel relieved they went back to the root with this one. Or sorta.

yeah, I missed this ^_^

We even get to see Rukia's masterpiece :D

Ichigo was under surveillance by an unknown enemy, which I assumed was the guy we seen earlier that was made human by hell itself. But I was wrong. They were these mask men with exceptional fighting abilities who called themselves Sinners from Hell. Ishida, Chad, Renji and even Ichigo were having problem defeating them. They were definitely not your average villains. Apparently their power lies with their mask though. Once broken they will be taken by the Hell's Gate.

They were not only attacking Ichigo but wais a threat to his family as well. Gunjo and Shuren already have Karin and Yuzu in their custody. Their mission was to invite Ichigo back to hell since they have an "assignment" for him. As if it would be that easy. They would have succeeded at kidnapping both Yuzu and Karin if Kokuto didn't stopped them. Unfortunately though Yuzu was taken as a bargaining chip.

Ichigo: "Get your hands off Rukia!"

The Sinners wish was simple: they want to be released from hell so they wanted Ichigo to destroy the Hell's Gate. Looked like Ichigo didn't have much of a choice, huh?

Sinners still have their powers in order to keep them sane by holding on to their resentment or their memories, otherwise they would have been taken over by the guards. They would have been eaten, tortured and revived repeatedly until they are brain dead and pretty much heartless too.

I was surprised to find out that Kokuto was actually not the bad guy in this movie. No wonder I have seen a lot of shipping going on for him and Rukia heh. He has this nonchalant attitude that I can't help but take an instant liking for. Plus he was pretty mysterious (not to mention dubious) showing up like he owned the place and readily agreed to bring them to hell to save Yuzu. I have a feeling that he is actually the mastermind. Hmmm...

that should have ring some warning bells...

So Hell was not under Soul Society jurisdiction but they were under their surveillance. Shinigami are forbidden to intervene in anything that is related to Hell so I guess Renji and Rukia were breaking the rules for the sake of Yuzu and Ichigo.

Once inside Hell, the guards wasted no time chasing after them. I'm impressed that Rukia managed to keep up with the guys. Heh, that's my girl. In order to fight them, Ichigo had to use his Getsuga Tenshou but strangely his hollow mask appeared automatically when he did that and thus made his attack even more powerful. Ah I see... This was why Shuren wanted him to help them out.

The air inside the hell must have affected him. This will bring out his dormant power. Eventually he will be hollowfied completely. Shit just got more interesting y'all!

free-falling like nobody's business

On the second level of hell, they were once again confronted by the Sinners who attacked them at Karakura Town (I lost my appetite when I see Taikon true form behind the cloak. That is just so fucking gross). Ichigo and his crew had trouble yet again taking care of them, even more so since they were stronger in hell than they were in human world. Since they were taking too long, Ichigo and Kokuto will move forward while Ishida, Rukia and Renji took care of those three fuglies. The original plan was for Rukia to follow them too but that fucktard Sinner had to interfere. Goddammit. Now I'm pissed.

KABOOM!

There is a giant guard welcoming Ichigo and Kokuto at level three of hell. Kokuto saved Ichigo who in turn, saved him back. Since Kokuto was hurt, he wanted Ichigo to go save Yuzu alone and leave him. He also came clean as to why he was helping them. He became a Sinner because of his sister. Hmm, credible story indeed. He even asked Ichigo to free him from hell so he could be reborn and apologize to his sister. I must say, very well played Kokuto. I almost believe you.

I kept focusing on Ichigo but Ishida, Renji and Rukia done an exceptionally good job with the fighting. They definitely kept me entertain while Ichigo kept obsessing about saving Yuzu. This was why I love the shinigami (and Quincy) and thinks Bleach can't do without them. Just look at the recent arc Kubo made. It was too fucking stupid and incredibly boring without the Shinigami. Those Xcutioners can't even hold a candle next to these stupid Sinners. I missed seeing them using their full abilities to fight the enemy and Rukia pulled that same trick she did with Aoroniero back in Hueco Mundo. AWESOME.

tentacle rapes. First with Aaroniero now with Gunjo

And we are only halfway through the movie. Jeebus, look at how long this review is lol. tl;dr much?

However, just like Kokuto said, Sinners don't die in Hell. They will revived and all those hard work that Renji, Ishida and Rukia put up were for nothing.

And I took back my suspicious on Kokuto. It looked like he was seriously a good guy who caught up in a difficult situation and thus became a Sinner. He was having a hard time dealing with Shuren's three lackeys while Shuren himself has a face off with Ichigo. Kokuto even sacrificed himself to save Yuzu. This just forced Ichigo over the edge and as usual, he relied on his hollow power in the end which was playing right into Shuren's hand. Or so I thought. Shuren was underestimating Ichigo's powers too much and he was done for in just under a minute.

Wow... that was unimpressive -__-

the most short-lived villain in the history of Bleach. What a waste of such good looking face

But... JUST LIKE I PREDICTED KOKUTO FUCKING THREW HIS BLADE AT ICHIGO OUT OF NOWHERE! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Twist upon twist, just like how I like it. Oh man, my pantsu is soaked.

And so Kokuto has revealed his true nature

Like I said earlier. Kokuto was the mastermind and he was just using Shuren and the others to lure Ichigo into Hell. Rukia, Ishida and Renji came just in time to be cut down by Kokuto. LOL I know this sounded pathetic but Ichigo needed a catalyst to make him hollowfied right? Once he saw Rukia's down and Yuzu was about to be thrown into the larva, he totally lost it and so Kokuto's wish was granted.

*sighs* Ichigo was so predictable. This is why the bad guys always used him. He never learned, did he? First with Aizen, then Ginjou now Kokuto. Oh well, it is his short-tempered-act-first-think-later attitude that makes me root for him in the first place. Besides, his power is really unmatched for when he is completely hollowfied and that just fucking turns me on >=3

I kinda felt sorry for Kokuto actually. He had no fucking idea what was in store for him. Sure, Ichigo managed to destroy Hell as he wanted but he had to pay a hefty price for it. Once Ichigo hollowfied, he was totally out of control. Thankfully Renji and Rukia came prepared. They reserved a spell that can take Ichigo back to the real world and used it on Ichigo when Kokuto had his last two chains to be destroyed. Heh Kokuto, you've been punk'd dude.

At the same time, Soul Society had took precaution when the Hell Gate was destroyed. They stopped the miasma from hell from over flowing to the real world by sending out the kido team. But they can't do a damn thing about Yuzu. Even Inoue was useless. Yuzu has been too long in Hell and has become one of the Sinner herself. The Old Fuck told Ichigo it was all his fault IN HIS FACE! The nerves of the fucker. I mean, I was sure they knew what was going on which was why they had the old fuck in the real world and so on. They could have done something to prevent this shit from going down but they did nothing. They weren't any better than the villains in my opinion. They have been using Ichigo from day one too >_>

The discrimination against hollows annoyed the fuck out of me. If the fucker fucking knew what will happen if Ichigo went berserk then why the fucking hell didn't he stop him? Jeebus I'm mad.

I am also worried that no one seems to bother about Renji, Ishida and Rukia who were still stuck in Hell. I can understand why Ichigo wasn't. He was too depressed to think about anything else right now but if he didn't do something then who will?

no, duh!

Byakuya, that's who! Though he didn't do anything much but told Ichigo that he should be aware of their attention for letting him escaped alone. While they were having a conversation for Rukia's hand in marriage, the chain that binded Yuzu to hell miraculously disappeared and she has been saved. I have no fucking clue what just happened but this puts ideas into Ichigo's head so he decided to go back to Hell to save Rukia and the others. w00t!

determined Ichigo is DETERMINED!

Obviously shinigami from Soul Society will not let him entered Hell again but he won't be Kurosaki Ichigo that I love if he would just listened and nodded his head at whatever people tells him to do. Thankfully he didn't have to waste his energy on them for they were busy dealing with the Hell's Will.

Kokuto was ready for round two when Ichigo's arrived and this time he has bad news. Rukia had been chained by hell while Ishida and Renji were waiting for their turn. The only way to save her now is to break the chain and to do that Ichigo had to hollowfied. He tried hard to defeat Kokuto without depending on his hollow powers but Kokuto was just too strong. Not only that but since it's Hell, it's easier for his hollow to take over his body. Well, you shouldn't underestimated Ichigo. His resolution usually was stronger than anything in this world. He managed to not relent to his hollow power and fucking transform into something else.

I know this is serious but it's like his 103934960th transformation in Bleach. It's hard to take it seriously.

even more so when he sparkled more than Edward Cullen >_>

Apparently even Hell was on Ichigo's side. The Guards fucking lent him their powers. In the end, Ichigo just wounded Kokuto while Hell did the rest of the work. There was no way Kokuto can escaped hell now.

And that was how Ichigo saved the fucking world yet again.

THE END.

The animation wasn't as consistent as I wanted it to be but I shouldn't complain much because when it comes to the fight, it was amazing. The camera angles used for those shots were brilliant. It just makes you feel so "in the moment" if you know what I mean. Aside from that I think since this is a story about Hell, it kinda fall sort at portraying Hell which could be considered as a major failure. It was too cozy and lacking elements of torture, gruesomeness and plain out... well... Hell.

It wasn't as good as Fade to Black (that is by far the best Bleach movie out of the bunch). While Fade to Black colors were very bright and very details, this movie was a lot duller and wasn't as smooth. Hell, it was sort of a contrast between Ichigo vs Ulquiorra fight and the rest of the movie. You can tell the different almost on the get go. I sorta feel cheated to be honest

Unlike Fade to Black which was laced with hidden meanings, Hell Verse was pretty straight forward with the story that it wanna tell. It was fun but kinda monotonous towards the end. They should have used Shuren longer because he has so much potential to develop a more interesting ending. Jigoku-hen just doesn't have a climax in my opinion, unlike with Ichigo and Rukia in Fade to Black.

You know what would have been awesome? If Ichigo and Rukia stayed in Hell and becomes the King and Queen of that wretched place. Ichigo has that power to rule hell after all...

bow to your King and Queen, minions!

Hmm, I should probably stop comparing these two movies. I am biased with Fade to Black for obvious reason which is why I wished Kubo would have had a hand in this movie as well. But alas...

ps: there is one scene from this movie that I absolutely hate and if you know me well enough, you know exactly what scene I was talking about. Fuck that almost ruined this movie for me >=(

pss: I couldn't stop myself from from taking screencap after screencap. It would be a waste not to include them in this review so here they are looking as delectable as always.

First Impression: Persona 4 The Animation

Just like I am with Fate franchise, I am also a noob when it comes to Persona since I don't play the game and the only Persona I know is the anime that was aired couple of years back: Persona ~ Trinity Soul which I enjoyed a lot. Perhaps that is why I am looking forward to see this one as well, even more so now that everyone else is hyper about it too.

Lets just hope that this show lives up to expectation.

Episode 1 started with the introduction of Igor and Margaret who are in the in-between realm. I dunno who the fuck are they talking to though. Then we get to see our protagonist, Yuu Narukami moving in to his uncle's house in a small village, which mean he has to transfer school as well. Ever since he set his foot in that village, something is happening to him and we all already know what that something is. He is creating a persona of himself.

He quickly makes friends: Chie Satonaka, Yukiko Amagi and Yosuke Hanamura. He takes the first trip to the other world with Chie and Yosuke when they accidentally go inside the TV. In that alternate realm, Yuu is given a spectacle that enables him to see the Shadows. At the most critical time, Yuu awakens his Persona and he just transformed!

that megane changes everything! *faps*

I am not crazy about the animation but there is just something about the character designs that added the realism factor for the story, except for the three tone face everyone is having. What is up with that? Did they only tanned from their chin below? The animation needs to be more consistent in my opinion. It was awful during the time Yosuke buying them dango but was great when they were being chased by the Shadows. I mean, I almost creamed my pantsu heh.

One more thing, I think they need to carefully insert their BGM so that it would not ruin the scene. It happened several times during this episode where I can't focus on what the characters were saying because the BGM was so out of place.

Somehow I feel like this show is forcing something down my throat and I am not comfortable with that. A lot of that has to do with Yosuke's supposedly comedic relief. Having said that, the reason why I want to see this show is because of the story and so far it manages to grab my attention and pique my interest.

this guy is pretty convincing ^^

Not a perfect first impression but it's a good start.

p/s: Why don't they just stick with Souji Seta? Why did they replace his name with Yuu Narukami.

First Impression: Fate/Zero

I am not as excited as everyone else about this show. Like I said in my preview for Fall, I am not really a fan of Fate, either the anime or the game. I also don't get why are people so crazy about Fate. I admit that she's good with that sword of hers but other than that... she's rather dull.

Since I have watched Fate/Stay Night, I am not completely clueless about this show. At least they are still using Holy Grail War concept shit as the pillar of the story. The Holy Grail War is a battle to obtain some ancient relic that will perform miracle to those who wins it. The Grail will choose 7 magi as Masters for the Servant. If you have the stigmata, that means you have the power to summon and command a servant (heroes of your choice from ancient time) and together you will fight the war.

That's all that I understand really. Other gibberish are just words that I have no idea what it means, really. They mentioned Tohsaka and Matou and few other names as if I am supposed to know who they are. Well, I am not. Or maybe I just don't remember. Orz.

The show takes us back and forth, from yesteryear to the future and from one country to the other. In doing so we are being introduced with the characters that will play their part in this war eventually. It is a necessary build up for the war that will happen anytime soon. I mean, I even get to see Rin as a child.

There are several key players in this show. The lucky winners for this round are Kotomine Kirei who will work together (under pretense that theya are enemy) with Tohsaka Tokiomi to ensure that they will win the other five battles. He is the most mysterious character out of the bunch at the moment. Then there's Kariya who abandoned his family name (Matou) to live a normal life but when he learned that Sakura (Rin's sister) was adopted, he made a deal to win the war so Zouken will release her. The third one is Waver Velvet, an ambitious boy from London who wants to prove that winning the war is all about pure skills and got nothing to do with bloodline or rank. The forth is Emiya Kiritsugi, the Magus Killer who was chosen to marry into the Einzbern family. He's one cruel son of bitch that will bomb both the Entire State Building if his target is in there. This fact makes me root for him lol me and my taste for bad guy. The fifth Master is Rin's dad Tokiomi. That left us with two more spots for Masters.

The battle to look out for has to be Emiya versus Kirei. They both kinda crazy in the head when it comes to murdering Magus.

Then there are the Servants. Assassin is assigned to Kirei, Saber to Emiya, Rider to Waver, Gilgamesh to Tokiomi and Berserker to Kiriya. Caster and Lancer are yet to found their Masters.

So... This first episode is pretty fucked up in so many ways. We got Sakura who got fucked by insects and was used to it in three fucking days. Jeebus. Then there's Waver who is so going to be fucked like there's no tomorrow by his Servant. Also, what's up with Tokiomi and Kirei's father going in circle while explaining shits to Kirei? I mean, just what the fuck was that? Kiriya and Berserker seem like the best fucked up combination you can think of and last but not least, Emiya who think someone just fucked with him when Saber appeared instead of Arthur. Heh.

Let us not forget who produced this show. I hope it will be as awesome and as fucked up gory as Kara no Kyoukai. Judging from this almost 48 minutes introduction of the first episode, I am pretty sure that it will turn out just as great. If the "Fate" franchise itself doesn't get me excited, knowing that Ufotable produced this does. Needless to say I am a fan of their works and thus by the end of this episode, I can honestly say my interest level has increased by tenfold.

Oh yeah this shit is going to be 25 long episodes of greatness! *cross fingers*

First Impression: Blood-C

I was looking forward to this one but when I saw people's general reaction to this show, I started to have doubt. Can a show that promised blood and perhaps gore be that bad? Even more so when the protagonist is a smexy female with katana as weapon. That got me curious. What has gone wrong? Isn't this one produced by Producion I.G and is a collaboration with Clamp? Did they screw up? There's only one way to found out. So here I am, several weeks later, checking out the first episode of Blood-C. Let see if it's true what they said about this show or this show is just underrated for whatever reason. But being that I have a fetish for blood, I might probably be biased in the end ^^"

Kisaragi Saya is the female protagonist that I talked about earlier. The fact that she wears a megane definitely helps me liking her right away. She's a shrine maiden and is a klutz who seems to be cheerful all the time. You wouldn't expect that from a vampire slasher now, do you? The Saya from Blood+ is all emo and shit.

Halfway through the episode, I get it why people are disappointed with Blood-C. It was all cutesy and smiley and stuff like that though some of the dudes in her class are pretty suspicious. I can't wait to see what roles are they playing. Are they the bad guys or the good guys? I am not that naive to believe that the questions will be answered straight away but I do hope that the other half of this episode will be gory and bloody, just like I like it.

It definitely gets more entertaining though as we see her performing her 'duty'. The pace of this show suddenly becomes perfect as it sets up the mood for the end. I was biting my nails in anticipation as Saya stands in thatt pool of water with seemingly a stone statue as her opponent. That was scary lol.

I can definitely see where does Clamp comes in, in term of production. The character designs definitely reminds me of XXXholic. The fact that the director, Tsutomu Mizushima is also the director for that show definitely gives off the same vibes. These are good in my book though because it is something that I am familiar with, and makes me hoping that this will be as good as XXXholic if not better. However, I can see why this might turned people off too.

Like I said, I'm pretty biased with things that I like. Blood-C is definitely my kind of thing and I am so going to watch this, among 50 other shows that I am watching. Orz
