Aku no Hana

It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.

A Year Older: Again

It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.

Goodbye 2012 and Hallo 2013

So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.

Light Writings: Love II

I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.

Light Writings: Crush II

Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.

First Impression: Brothers Conflict

I may or may not like this. It is after all about incest. I don't care if they are from different mother/father. As far as I am concern, once you are siblings either by marriage or something else, that is incest. They are incest anime that I can't get enough of like Yasuga no Sora and then there's anime incest that I fucking hate like Aki Sora. So let see where would Brothers Conflict be.

(c) Sayaomu
Err yeah, after watching the episode, I still have no idea what to think about this show. I have expected some brotherly love that goes beyond the blood but when I saw it happening, especially with Kaname, I was grossed out. Then I was trolled with the twincest which made me somewhat mad. The fujoshi in me wants them to be together but we all know that both of the twin will eventually fall for Chii, just like the rest of them brothers.

Fuck. I hate Chii.

Well, maybe not. Maybe I'm just envious of her. I want to stay at a place full of males too. Wait... LOL what am I saying. I have been surrounded by males all my life!

So yeah, I hate her and her pet Juli.

The males are definitely pleasing on the eyes. They picked one hell of a cast for the seiyuus and if there's any reason why I would continue watching this show, it's because of them seiyuus.

Overall, it was okay. I just let my biased opinion gets in the way :P

First Impression: Devil Survivor 2

I am usually into the gore, evil, supernatural stuff but during the preview, I don't get any gore/spooky/thrill feelings from reading the synopsis.Oh well, we all know how misleading the synopsis can be. Lets hope that it doesn't failed me, especially with the promise of so many bishie in it. Also, I wasn't sure if there's a prequel to this series. According to MAL, there isn't.

(c) 3838383

At first I thought it was stupid as fuck, probably because Hibiki looks like the biggest pussy ever. And then there's those wolf-like demons and then the summoned-demons. Both are equally stupid as well. I was ready to drop this shit but something just made me sit here and watched it till the end and guess what, somehow it turned out okay thanks to the other mysterious characters that appeared towards the end.

This show is indeed about demons. The person who summoned them are supposed to be dead but thanks to this application that they downloaded, they got a second chance to be a hero. Obviously the type of demon they may summoned depends on their power level and somehow Hibiki's just up there which kinda pissed me off but whatever.

I dunno where will it go from here. Maybe I'll find out if I was interested. I won't drop this though. It wasn't that bad that it deserved to be in the anishit list. It is just... average.

Having said that, I do want to meet the other summoners. They look rather... interesting ww.

This show is produced by Production I.G. That is enough reason for me to check this out. Besides, reading the synopsis at MAL, it seems like the kind of shows that Production I.G. is good at producing so this ought to be somewhat satisfying. Well, at least I hope so.

And after 24 minutes of sitting here watching the show, I have only two words to say: HOLY FUCK.

Kudos Production I.G. Kudos.

They managed to produced some REALLY GOOD SHIT in one episode of anime. It was mind blowing experience. So good man, so good.

I refused to spoil anything in this first impression post. This show deserved to be watched and appreciated, not read.

It is now in my MUST WATCH list for this season.

First Impression: Karneval

I know of this series through the manga. The manga is full of bishies so naturally as a fujoshi it quickly becomes one of my favorite manga to read until the day came when I stopped reading manga because I was too busy. So somewhat the series was forgotten. So I'm glad that they decided to make an anime out of it!

(c) M 0514

Well, that feeling of glad doesn't lasted very long. Half way through the first episode I was at lost. I blame it all on myself because I cannot remember anything that I've read from the manga. The only thing I remember are the characters and Circus. Other than that, nada.

So, I feel a little bit disappointed at the show as well at myself. I have high expectation for this show but it didn't satisfy me at all. Having said that I am still gonna watch this. I am sure that it can only get better from here onwards.

By the way, Gareki is  my favorite character when I read the manga. I remember him being more aloof in the manga though.

That's about all I can say from watching this first episode of Karneval. Not much, huh? Not even a rant.

First Impression: Kuroko no Basket

To be honest, I am watching this hoping that I get to see some hinted BL. This is resulted from some BL fanarts of this series that I found online. They look so hot I just have to give this series a try. I didn't write anything at all regarding this series in my preview for Spring. I must have missed it and thus I hope this one could pull a (good) surprise.

(c) pixiv id 162069

The series managed to grab my attention for the first six minutes when they introduced Taiga and Tetsuya. This is a good sign indeed which mean I can sit back and enjoyed the rest of the episode without having to rage (too much). Plus, the Tetsuya Kuroko character intrigues me. Though he's unforgettable for the audience, it seems like he's pretty unnoticeable/invincible (and not in a good way) kind of character which sort of hilarious if you think about it. After all, he is supposed to be one of the main protagonists of the show, and one of the Generation of Miracles.

The other protagonist is of course Taiga, who is the complete opposite of Tetsuya. He's loud and is good at basketball though Tetsuya already said that he will be crushed if he goes up against the Generation of Miracles. The only way Taiga can beat them is if he let Tetsuya be his shadow, which is his specialty by the way. Tetsuya is so good at passing ball, people don't even see him touching the ball.

I expected something great in term of arts and animation though, since this is produced by Production I.G. but what I get is a pretty mediocre looking anime which kind of a shame. Thank goodness that the story ain't shit otherwise there is no reason for me to continue watch this show. OK, that's a lie. I will continue watching this show just because I want to meet the other five members of Generation of Miracles. I mean... I've seen the fanarts and they are definitely worthy of faps.

I laughed once which means this show gets instant approval and I am surprised to find out that this show is actually quite good and enjoyable. If only the art is excellent...

First Impression: Shirokuma Cafe

In my preview for the season, I included this show in the anishit list, thinking that it is nothing more than just another children oriented anime. Can you blame me though? It is an anime about animals. I usually have problem taking anime such as this seriously. But maybe this show is not meant to be taken seriously.

From the anime blogsphere's reaction so far, it somehow managed impressed them all. So here I am checking it out of obligation to myself and see whether they have bad taste or I passed judgement too fast.

And it is certainly the latter because though it was not extraordinary, it is certainly not shit.

Shirokuma Cafe, or also known as the Polar Bear's Cafe is indeed a story about some animals who lives among human. When I said live, I mean it. They talk and walk and have a home and a job just like us humans. As the name suggested, the story revolves around Polar Bear's cafe where these animals (some who works at the zoo literally as they are) and humans hang out together.

Panda and Polar Bear. Apparently public's fav OTP >_>

There are three prominent animals in this show: Polar Bear, the owner of the cafe who loves pun; Panda, his lazy ass young neighbor from next door and; Penguin who seems like the most loyal customer of the cafe and good friend of Polar Bear. I find myself more attracted to Polar Bear and Penguin's friendship. Or maybe I'm just biased towards Hiroshi Kamiya =3=

Speaking of seiyuu, I figured that there would be quite a few people who will watch this show for the seiyuu. Perhaps I am one of them retards. I don't have a clue that the characters are voiced by really good (and some are among my favorites) male seiyuu. Should I have given more attention about these details, I wouldn't have waited this long to check this show out. As I've said above, Penguin stood out the most for me because of his seiyuu. The same goes for Panda. They are both made of HHHHHNNNNNGH! It was a perfect match for both.

I have to congratulate the art and animation team from Studio Peirrot for the job well done. I know it must have not been easy to draw and animate expression on animals' faces but I think they managed to capture the emotions brilliantly without these animal losing their animalistic traits. They also have their human-like traits given the nature of the show but I am glad that they still managed to look cute and cuddly at the same time. I just wish they would have given equal effort at designing the human characters lol

When I first heard the OP, I immediately thought that it was sang by Big Bang, a K-Pop group that often sing Japanese songs. It certainly sounds like it could be one of their songs. It is catchy and I like it a lot already. As for the ED, it has that Jun-Fukuyama-being-moe feels to it. I REJECT!

But I am not letting that bad ED gets to me.

Because the humor of Shirokuma Cafe works for me. They don't force it down my throat in which they are pretty similar to the comedy of "Kill Me Baby" or "Daily Lives of High School Boys". Aside from that, this show don't have much to offer. Just like the two examples, it is just as pointless. Having said that, it doesn't mean that it is not enjoyable.

So ladies and gentlewomen, I stand corrected about this show.

First Impression: Brave 10 - As Bishie As It Gets

Episodes: 12
Producers: TMS Entertainment, Media Factory, NIS America, Studio Saki Mura
Genres: Action, Adventure, Historical, Seinen

I am hoping that there would be a lot of bishie for this show and that is the only reason why I want to check this out. This could possibly be another Sengoku Basara. We still have Date Masamune as one of the characters but it was to be expected. This is a story of Sengoku era after all. Brave 10 is directed by Kiyoko Sayama, the same director for the likes of Vampire Knight and Princess Tutu. Not exactly convincingbut he was also the one responsible for the storyboard of Death Note so there is still hope, my friend.

The story evolved around Isanami who was pursued by some clan who wanted her special power that she wasn't aware of. While running around to save herself, she met with Saizo, a ronin samurai who helped her out but got stuck with her in the end. Together they went to see the Lord Sanada Yukimura who protected them both and hired Saizo to be one of his 10 brave warriors to fight alongside him against the evil guys. Obviously there will be at least 1 new warriors to be introduced for every episode leading up the climax, which would be interesting indeed.

The art is colorful and the animation smooth but it lacks soul in my opinion. Even the fight happened too fast and wouldn't allow us to savor the kill or the actions, which isn't that many to be honest. The characters are designed by Yukiko Ban who has been involved in project like Gintama. Naturally I can't find fault with anyone who is involved in Gintama and indeed there is no flaws that I want to point out. The characters are bishies alright and if in real life, would most probably seemed out of place in the world of ninja and samurai. I didn't specialized in Japanese history so I wouldn't know if the background is appropriate to that era but as far as I notice, there are just trees and more trees. One thing for sure, I don't think Samurai of that era walking around with Saizo's kind of attire so the believable factor isn't something that they focused on for this show.

The OP is performed by Ono Daisuke and Tetsuya Kakihara who are also the seiyuu for both male protagonists respectively. I like Ono but I don't think that fact can make me like the OP as well. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. It made Saizo lost whatever little badassness he got left. The ED on the other hand is an improvement thanks to catchy tune by ADAPTER. The BGM however is sorta lackluster. I want to compliment the seiyuu but at some parts I feel like they are forcing themselves to be their character and as a result, it sounded kinda fake and not as crisp as I would like them to be.

As a whole, this show just pretty much provides me with a feeling of monotone. There are some parts that can used a little bit of improvement but if you are into bishie and a Sengoku era otaku, and wouldn't mind all the flaws that I mentioned above, than this show just might satisfy your palate. As for me, it was okay but I wouldn't feel bad if I missed it. The only good thing about this show is that it made me wants to collect my own 10 brave heroes.

Oh fuck. I was ready to hate this show when I saw that one of the character has Tomokazu Sugita as it's seiyuu. Not only him, but it looks like almost all my favorite male seiyuu is in this show. Damn... I might just changed my mind about this show. This better be good and funny otherwise I would have to slit my wrist. This is like Miracle Train all over again.

(c) kawagishi keitarou

I swear that watching this show is like watching Ikkitousen to a certain extend. They even have almost the same kind of characters for the show. I am honestly just lost for words. I mean... Ikkitousen is in my most hated anime list, so I don't see how this show would be any different when the setup is so damn similar. Jeebus, can't they do something original anymore? At least changed the character design! I see Ryoumou Shimei and Kan'u Unchou on the get go. If that's not weird enough, we even have that old fuck Yamaji making a cameo. WTF?

That's when I know I shouldn't be taking this show seriously. They just have so many cameo I have lost track.

This show is random. It reminds me of Baka to Test to Shoukanjii in a way. I can't even find words to explain what the episode is all about. You just have to see it for yourself. And guess what? I did have fun watching this shit. On to episode 2 then.

First Impression: Working'!!

The most anticipated anime for the Fall, at least for me it is. I have been whining for a second season ever since the last episode of the first season was aired in June last year. I am just head over heels in love with this show. Imagined how fucking ecstatic I am when I heard that A-1 Pictures finally coming up with the new season in Fall.

(c) Inojita Mukamo

Working!! is a character driven show and most probably the reason why it appeals to me so much to even named it as my number one anime of 2010. I just love how the characters in these show interact and complimenting each other. Just thinking about them makes me want to gush and what not. Uguuu~♥

The first episode of the second season continue from where it left of. Inami still has issues dealing with men even though he can interact with Takanashi pretty casually now. Poplar still takes offense when people call her tiny and pet her head. Yachiyo is still gay for Kyouko. Takanashi still has weak spot when it comes to anything that is remotely cute. Yamada is still as clumsy and address herself as a third person. Kyouko is still a useless manager. Souma Satou-san are still as cunning but only cuter :3

Others might be put off with the fact that nothing changed but I am glad. Their eccentricities what makes this show awesome and if they changed that, then this show will be just like any other slice of life anime. I certainly don't want that to happen. As for the plot, I am sure they will pick up soon enough.

Oh fuck it, I'm not gonna say anything more because I'll just be so fucking biased about it anyway lol. But I have to say this: Takanashi comparing Poplar with a bug gotta be the highlight of this episode for me. It just comforting for me knowing that Poplar is just to happen to be his fetishes and nothing more than that. Heh, you see, I'm a pro Inami/Takanashi shipping...

lol I'm so hopeless sometimes.

So yeah, needless to say, I can't wait to fap to this show every week. What a great Fall this is going to be ^____^

First Impression: Ao no Exorcist

Ao no Exorcist is the only anime that I look forward to the most because of two factors. Factor number one is the fact that I have read the manga back when I was a manga whore so I know what to expect and I expect greatness because the story is fucking awesome (though I have forgotten most about it). The other factor, if you have not guess it yet, is the fact that A-1 Pictures is the one producing this show.

I am three things: anime tard, Sugita slut and A-1 Pictures' whore. Explain a lot, doesn't it? LOL

http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=1704054

As expected from A-1 Pictures, the start of the anime puts me at the edge of my seat where a bunch of priests praying to protect the Assiah but one by one they were burned to crisp. But this show is not about them, this show is about the twin Rin and Yukio Okumura who have opposite personalities. Yukio is the smart and obedient one while Rin is the rebel who always gets into trouble.

The Abbey where Rin and Yukio live provides exorcism but Rin doesn't believe in ghost and demon until he saw one himself. That's the beginning of his adventure. Little did he know that he's the offspring of Satan. The day he learned that, he also saw Father did his exorcism and finally he was told the truth about himself. Now that the demon knows where and who he is, Rin will be hunted down. Shit is about to get real people!

Fuck, I'm soaked.

Ao no Exorcist is not all serious shit. It plays with emotions too. When Rin was embarrassed in front of Father, I feel my cheeks heat up as well. And then there were the clumsy side of Rin that made me chuckled. He's cute like that. The same goes for Yukio. I can really feel his concern for Rin and I can't wait to see him playing his role in this whole premise. Gah, twinsome is awesome.

http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=1704054

I dunno who Nobuhiko is since I'm not familiar with his previous works but since he does Rin so well, I better look out for him the next time I watch an anime. Yukio is voiced by Jun Fukuyama who is famous for his role as Lelouch so Yukio kinda has that kind of charisma. The rest of the cast will definitely makes this show a huge success, like Hiroshi Kamiya and Kana Hanazawa who are yet to make their appearance. Both the OP and ED are outstanding. Uverworld, whom I know and come to like thanks to Bleach, does the OP and since I learned that 2PM is singing the ED, the conceited old me like it right away. Credits to the music director as well for the appropriate BGM.

There is no need to sing my praises to A-1 Pictures for the great art and animation. It was expected of them and once again, they delivered. It was flawless. The character designs are just like that of the originals and the backgrounds were very detailed. To say that I'm impressed is an understatement. Thank you A-1 Pictures for not disappointing me this time around.

I'm going to recommend this show to everyone not just because I am a biased fucker but also because I think great anime ought to be shared. I already have friends that I can spazz to so that just makes watching it even more enjoyable. Love. Love. Love.

First Impression: Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san

I have been planning on checking this out later but since Glo asked me to do so, I figured I should see what's so great about this show as soon as possible. So here I am writing this mandatory first impression post for future reference.

Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san is about a detective company who used demons/devil to help solve their cases. As you can see, the demons aren't scary looking. In fact they are kinda... cute if that kind of thing is your thing.

Akutabe, the detective in question is also a demon summoner. I like him right away as I do with the rest of the characters. The demons, especially Azazel who specializing in sexual harassment, are funneh. Man, when he screwed up, he fucking screwed up.

This show is only 12 minutes long per episode but it provides you with plenty of shiznit. I love this kind of random shit even though I can do without the stupid OP. This show didn't take itself seriously so as an audience, you are expected to do so as well.

The art at time emphasize how crazy the situation is which in itself is funny. Coupled with great voice acting, it turns out as a masterpiece. I have nothing bad to say about Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san (yet) so I recommend this to everyone who appreciates humor.

There are so many hilarious screencap but that would mean spoilers. It is best if you see this shit for yourself XD

First Impression: Sekaiichi Hatsukoi

The only yaoi/BL show of the season (I'm not including Sex Pistol because it's an OVA) so naturally it was compulsory for me to watch it. The animation for this one definitely reminds me of Junjou Romantica, quite possibly the worst yaoi show I have ever watched.

Ritsu Onodera knew and acknowledge himself as gay even when he's in high school. In fact he was quite a stalker. This lifestyle of his lasted until he's an adult. From what little flashback that they show, he was quite a player.

He worked at his family's publishing house but when he heard his co-worker thought that he's using his connection, he quit to prove himself that he can be successful with his own effort. He was then assigned to the shoujo department and met the Editor-in-Chief who is quite an asshole (duh). He's good at what he do though so that's how he earns Ritsu's respect (and eventually his ass as well). And as I have expected, Takano is actually the same guy that Ritsu confessed his love at the start of the episode. Only in yaoi XD

The good thing about this show is, it doesn't feel rushed. Other yaoi (like Junjou), the protagonists can't seem to wait to get into each other buttholes. Sekaiichi Hatsukoi takes it time marinating that part until it's totally appropriate and/or reaches it peak. The kissing part was totally unexpected (on Ritsu's part that is) and it makes me chuckled because it didn't lace with fake feelings.

I got to say that I really enjoy Ritsu's monologue. I found it entertaining because most of the time, it turns out funneh. He's witty. Also, since they work in a shoujo department, I get to learn some the process of creating a successful manga (even though I don't read shoujo). At least I'm not totally clueless as why the pages sometimes so white and sparkly...

I'm not familiar with Takashi Kondo but since Ritsu sounds so sexy sometimes, I have no choice but acknowledge that he is good at what he does. The other seiyuus are quite a line-up (Katsuyuki Konishi makes Takano came to live) but their characters are yet to be introduced. It just something that makes me look forward to the next episode.

The OP is shit though and thankfully the ED kinda better (but not really). I'll skip both of them the next time I watch this show.

Enjoyable? Fuck yes if you love yaoi.

First Impression: Starry☆Sky

Reverse harem? Why not just total BL instead? If it was, I would be the first to raise my hands and claim this as my favorite even before I've seen the episodes. As it is, this is still targeted for the female audience. I doubt many males would want to see some bunch of guys chasing the the only female in school.

The start was weak as fuck. We got the protagonist reminiscing as he looked at the sky and queue flashback. When he was a child, he met a girl who he spent time with doing nothing but staring at the night sky. Boring stuff especially when I know what to expect for the entire show in less than 10 minutes into the episode. That is definitely not good. I already know that the protagonist will do whatever it takes to meet the same girl that he fell for when he was a kid and it just so happened the same gal is going to the same school that he is transferring to. Cliche as fuck.

(If you feel like all these setups looks familiar, that's because it is: La Corda D'Oro ~primo passo~)

Well, this is a show full of bishies so I can't complain much when it comes to character designs even though they all look like your typical bishounen. So I guess I had to complain about that. I just wish they paid more intention to details and the animation was really terrible. It's like they don't even bother trying. Fuck you Studio DEEN. Not when you have a whole bunch of bishounen at your disposal.

I usually channel my hatred to the subject of reverse harem but not in this case. At least not yet. I am actually disappointed with Kenichi Suzumura's performance in this show. It was as weak as the fucking show itself. It is hard for me to dislike a bishounen but yes I dislike Tomoe the moment he opened his mouth. HOWEVER! I didn't expect to hear Sugita Tomokazu in this one. Or Jun Fukuyama or Yuuichi Nakamura or Mamoru Miyano or Junichi Suwabe or Kamiya Hiroshi. Fuck, now I feel like I'm obligated to watch this shit just like with Miracle Train, which I have yet to complete.

The good news is, each episode is only 12 minutes long. That will save you from permanent brain injury. There's only one way for me to watch this shit. That is if Tomoe Yoh sucks my imaginary dick. Better yet, why not the whole bunch of bishounen do just that. Then maybe I might actually enjoy this piece of shit.

oh fuck yes! :D

Arakawa Under the Bridge

(c) shishio

I was very excited when I first saw this show. It has that unusual comedy that I always have a knack for. Was it original? Well, Akiyuki Shinbou is the director for Arakawa, the same man who directed Bakemonogatari, Maria+Holic and Zetsubuo Sensei. All four kinda have similarities: dark comedy and colorful cast of characters. But yes, I do think Arakawa has that originality to it. I mean, I haven't seen any other anime having a story about the people who are living under a bridge.

So, kudos to SHAFT.

The story: Kou Ichinomiya comes from a family that does not rely on anyone, no matter what the circumstances are. To inherit the family business, he has to prove that he can do just that. All that change when he met Nino who thinks she's from Venus and the rest of the denizens who reside under the Arakawa bridge. One thing lead to the other and Kou is suddenly Nino's lover much to the irk of (almost) every male under the bridge. There wasn't really a strong plot to Arakawa. They attempted to do one but it was half-ass.

Towards the end, Kou initial intend to inherit the family business kinda dead. Well, he does ended up a changed man although still very whiny about everything else. All that bullshit about not wanting to rely on anyone disappeared with every episodes as he developed and learned few things from the wacky denizens.

In the end, I think Arakawa Under the Bridge is an unusual love story. I feel like it sending all kind of deep beautiful messages such as
  • it is okay to be different as long as you love who you are
  • true love transcends everything that is normal
  • love is accepting the other half of you and allow him/her to complete you
  • you don't need words to express love. Action speaks louder than words
  • there is all kind of loves
If you care to look and learn from the poetry at the beginning of every episodes, you'll get the message. Those, for me, are the highlight of the show.

It is through the characters that Arakawa is given life. Well, I have already introduce Kou and Nino but they are boring. Lets move on the the more interesting characters. Allow me to introduce my favorite character of the series:

Hoshi
(c) minishiba3

There are several reasons why I like him the most

  1. Sugita Tomokazu is his seiyuu
  2. He plays the guitar
  3. He can sing
  4. He lives in a trailer
  5. He is a shooting star
  6. He is a potato
  7. He is in fact a very successful pop-star in the normal world
  8. He is good looking
  9. He never gives up on his love
  10. He is cool as fuck
My second favorite character made her debut in episode 7 and her name is P-Ko. I just love her red hair to death. She's the girl who loves the mayor and knows that it will forever be an unrequited love. The reason she loves the mayor? Because he's green. You see, her profession is pretty much the one who supplies vegetables to the denizens and loves everything that reminds her of her veggies. She is also useless with direction. Comparing all the characters in Arakawa, I think P-Ko is the prettiest. Like I said, it's her hair. They are so perfect =3

We can't talk about Arakawa if we didn't mention the mayor who wears a kappa suit but refused to admit that fact. He might seems useless but at one point, he did save the people from being chased out from under the bridge in episode 12. Everyone except Kou seem to sincerely love the mayor. Sister in particular kinda over doing it as can be seen in episode 10. The mayor is responsible of giving the resident their name. This is how Kou ended up as being "Recruit" or "Ric".

Then there is Sister who isn't really a sister but a fugitive foreign man wearing a Sister outfit. He runs the church and responsible for the mass. As expected from a man with his caliber, he solved every problem either using gun, or more guns. He's so hopelessly in love with Maria, the super-sadistic bitch that runs the farm. He also has a disciple. A kid named Stella who can grow as big as he whenever she wanted. She is evil and has successfully recruited the Tetsujin twin who believed the alien are after them. Let's not forget the Liner who walks around with a white-line-drawing thingy in front of him. He only walks on the white line he had make. In the last episode they re-introduce the samurai guy, Billy (man with parrot head), Jacqueline and the Amazon woman. All to gear up for season 2.

Credit to Tatsuwa Naoyuki for the OP and ED video. I was a fan of the OP at some point because it reminds me of Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu. It is fresh and I like the theme that he used. It was also pretty telling about the romance between Kou and Nino. The OP song itself (
Venus to Jesus by Etsuko Yakushimaru) wasn't that appealing to me. It was good but nothing special though I think I can recognized it when I heard it somewhere else. The ED (Sakasama Bridge by Suneohair) on the other hand sound more interesting to me. Maybe I am biased about it because Suneohair did the ED for Honey and Clover too.

In term of art and animation, credit has to be given to SHAFT for once again coming up with something that is visually attractive and unique. I actually have read people complaining about it but too me that is the most endearing part of SHAFT's anime.
I love the art direction of the show. The extreme close-up on the facial expression really captured the emotions that the character has. That in my opinion, is one of the strongest point of this show. Guess what it reminded me of... Yep, Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu. Again.

Like I said earlier, the characters in Arakawa are the one that made this show enjoyable. This is made possible because the seiyuus did a good job. Sugita obviously. But through Arakawa I begin to take notice of Kamiya Hiroshi and Amigawa Chiako, the
seiyuu for Kou and P-Ko respectively. Kudos to them for getting into the character so well.

The humor in Arakawa are entertaining and craftedly done but I think because it focuses a lot more on the comedy, the series doesn't create a strong lasting impression. It was enjoyable to watch, but it is hard to give the show high praises because it did not leave this heavy impact. The characters were superb, the animation and music decent, the comedy golden, but something was missing that could have made this show much, much stronger.

Having said that, I am looking forward for season two. Bring it on!

(Edit: I've seen the first couple of episode from Season 2 and it's going down hill atm.)

Final verdict? Less than what I initially gave it.

First Impression: Arakawa Under the Bridge x Bridge

I just completed season one like a week ago. I purposely delayed the completion because I kinda lost the feelings of awesomeness halfway through it. But since it was still fresh, I am motivated for season two of Arakawa Under the Bridge x Bridge.

The story picked up from where it left of. Basically they are still the same people with the same antics. Heh, I'm so glad that my mind is still fresh from last season's episodes. And I'm so glad they are still the same fucked up people under the bridge.

Kou asked Nino to move in with him, hoping that they'll be closer together. What he doesn't expect however that he got kicked out from his own home as Nino moved in. Basically they traded houses. In second half of the episode, Kou met the Amazoness who reminds me a lot of the President of in the Detroit Metal City. FUCKING CUNT! *chuckles* Ah DMC brings a lot of good memories...

The episode ends with the same dream Nino had at the beginning but this time around, she managed to see her as a child, with her parent, on a rocket blasting off to the sky. Yeah, extravagant as always.

Err, personally I think the OP takes a while for it to get going but then it quickly grows on me. As for the ED... What ED?

So yeah, I enjoyed it very much. It feels like watching the first episode of season one. Good feelings all around. This time looks like they are setting up a plot at the beginning on the season so it wouldn't feel forced like in the first season. More reason to follow this show, then.

Angel Beats!

(c) mooche

When I checked my first impression for Angel Beats! , I couldn't believe that most of us didn't have anything nice to say about this show. Even I was skeptical. I compared it with porn for fuck sake but I didn’t outright hate it. I said that it was a decent show but definitely not the best one for Spring 2010. Well, I was wrong and I stand corrected. Angel Beats! ended up among the few shows that I look forward to every week for this season.

I guess I have to thank Monroe for this. He was pretty adamant that I watch this series so he has someone he can talk to. I wasn't keen at first, especially when everyone says that this series is trying to imitate The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. As a fan of Haruhi, I obviously have my reservations. Thank goodness, though it has similarities, it is not an exact copy.

Angel Beats! is about a bunch of teenagers who found themselves dead and are living in the afterlife. Most of the students are the NPC while a small portion of the students fight to keep their personality and memories from their previous life. In other words, they have regrets. This small portion of students formed a brigade and they are lead by Yuri (this is where the similarities with Haruhi end). They believe that they have to fight the Angel/Kanade in order not to disappear. This is where normal ends and cue supernatural. They are able to make guns out of clay and so on. It kind of over the top but done with subtlety that you barely notice. The story took a different turn halfway through and that is where you will start to be very appreciative of this show. It throws something different in almost every episode though there is still something to link the plot together.

The involvement of Maeda Jun has been discussed a lot. I have a hate-love relationship with his previous works. I love the beginning for both Clannad (the first season, I hate the ending too much to bother with second season) and Kanon but totally hate the ending. I was afraid that he will do the same thing to Angel Beats! Guess what? He did although it is not as chronic as those two series I mentioned earlier. He has the knack of pairing the male lead with a female that I like the least (read: borderline hate). Having said that, I love the roller-coaster journey from total happiness to sorrow, all which is done in one episode. You'll laugh your ass off only to feel extremely touched afterward, all in a blink of an eye. Some people may not like the abrupt transition but I for one love it.

Reason number 23962 of why I like Angel Beats! is because of the brigade members. They have different personalities and most of the times, they are the reason why Angel Beats! turned out to be so great. Their antics are endless and it will keep you guessing. What next? So yeah, you'll be thoroughly entertained. This is guaranteed.

(c) hizuno

Otonashi started out as a blah character. He was so ordinary compared to the other more colorful characters in the brigade. He was completely developed till the very end. The other brigade members received the same treatment although half of them were left out (though they deserved to be developed further). The only other character that gets a lot of development is Kanade. She changed from a stoic emotionless girl to someone who hums song and has springs in her footsteps. Everyone's character development has something to do with Otonashi though so basically the other characters are evolved around him.

But let's talk about my favorite characters. Hinata started out as the gay partner for Otonashi, then Yui's arc enemy (or seemingly so) before becoming one of the most gentlemanly characters in anime history. I knew he's special the first time I laid my eyes on him. It was love at first sight. Besides Hinata, I also like the English-speaking, nonsensical TK. He is unique and needs no introduction. He is definitely one of the most memorable characters in anime fandom because of that. You can either hate or love TK. No in between. Who could forget episode 8 when he does that lookout dance. He's so random like that. As for female character, it has to be Yuri. Funny though because at first I really don't like her that much but as the story comes to an end, I found myself rooting for her. I guess I must have been attracted to her qualities and personality: she is strong and don't pull the "I'm the damsel in distress" bullshit. That's my kind of girl.

If you read my episodic review, you will notice that I don't like Kanade much. I have only one problem with her. I was fine with her when she has almost zero personality. Once Otonashi got attached to her, she changed. This was when I started to dislike Otonashi too. I guess you guys would call it character development. I called it interference. Sure it has something to do with the whole plot, the way it developed around their friendship but it bothers me to no end. This is all Maeda's doing...

So anyway, if someone asked me if I want a season 2 of Angel Beats! I would have said yes just so that I can see what Hinata, TK and Yuri are up to. After all, we didn't get the chance to send TK off =(

Music and sound. They are one of this show strongest points (how many strong points does this show have?!). They timed and chose the background music for certain moments perfectly which is a big help in setting up the emotional scenes as well as the funny parts. The OP and ED are good and the songs from Girls Dead Monster becomes talk of the anime fandom. K-ON! can learn a thing or two from both the song choice and animations during the performance. My song sang by Iwasawa imo is pretty haunting and memorable on its own.

The seiyuu too did an excellent job. I have high hopes for Otonashi when I found out that Kamiya Hiroshi does his voice. However Otonashi as a character at the end of the show ruined it for me. This doesn't mean that the seiyuus are at fault. If anything, they did a great job for invoking such reaction from me. They gave everything they have to put personality and attitude to the characters which give them life of their own. Kudos.

The art and animation however are decent. I've seen better. It was because of the arts that I initially compared it to hentai. I believe P.A Works could have done a better job. I mean, I adore the animation and the arts in True Tears so it is not like they aren't capable to do so. Besides Aniplex is one of the producers. They have plenty of resources, I am sure. Or maybe Angel Beats! is such a success because of the lack in this department. For example, I thought in some of the episodes, the quality of the animation was top notch, especially when there is blood involved.

Well, I guess it is obvious that I enjoy Angel Beats! At least up to episode 9 I did. Maybe the reason I was able to enjoy it is because I have learned to watch it at face value without questioning the facts and logics. Granted that the ending was a phailed attempt for tear fest, the other episodes easily make up for that. I managed to complete it on time, didn't I? That definitely accounted for something.

Angel Beats! is a show that you truly have to get to know to fall in love with it. If you judge it from the first episode alone, you'll be missing a lot. My initial rating for it was 7 out of 10. After 13 episodes, I changed my mind slightly.

First Impression: Arakawa Under the Bridge

Arakawa Under the Bridge is definitely one of the anime that I remember wanting to watch because it looks totally retard. A man with a star head? That looks totally awesome to me and this is produced by Shaft. That got to mean something, doesn't it?

Meet Ko Ichinomiya. He's the loser who was getting bullied by a bunch of kids. He is stinking rich and comes from a family that does not rely on anyone, no matter what the circumstances are. To inherit the family business, Ko has to prove that he can do just that.

Everything changes when he met Nino. The seemingly emotionless female who happened to be fishing when Ko tried to retrieve his pants back. The pillar gave out and he fell into the river. He would have died if not for Nino so his life motto of "never rely on anyone" was not applicable anymore unless he repays her.

Nino lives under the bridge (duh) and when Ko saw this, he immediately offered her a house which she declined. Ko was obviously befuddled. He doesn't want to owe anyone anything and Nino is making it hard for him. At last she asked for one thing: for Ko to love her. Heh, awesome XD

You'll get this only after you've seen the episode

That was the least of his problem though as he was introduced with another bizzare character. Oh man, I love the retardedness of this show. I mean, Ko is one hell of a determine young man who will do anything to repay his debt so when he met the weirdos, and what they expected of him, hilarity ensued.

I was rolling with laughter when I saw the last scene where Nino went back to sleep. This is certainly one of the anime that I'll be waiting weekly to see. So I guess Arikawa Under the Bridge is a replacement for Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu for the comedy department. I approved greatly.

lmaorofl WIN!

And we have yet to see the man with the star head. From what I read, his seiyu is none other than Tomokazu Sugita. I'm a happy camper.

Arakawa Under the Bridge consists of few episodes in one big episode. Not even half way through, we have seen 3 mini episodes and by the end of episode 1 we have 9 mini episodes. Different is definitely good.

First Impression: Working!!

I remember saying that I will probably going to like this show. Something about the description kinda intrigued me (hint: the word strange). Also, this is produced by A1 Pictures. I love some of their works (Kannagi and Oofuri to name a couple) so I have quite an expectation for this show as well. I am quite surprise that the first episode is already out. It was scheduled to release on April 4, if I am not mistaken.

edit: It seems like this is a special episode or something.

The episode started off with a busy day at the Wagnaria restaurant and the conversation that followed was about finding a new part-timer, who, you guessed it, is the protagonist in this show.

Taneshima Popura, one of the waitress at the restaurant was given the task to find the new part-timer so she went on the streets but phailed to find one until she met with a stranger, which will (eventually) be the protagonist, Takanashi Shouta, and offered him the job. Shouta mistook her as a lost child (who wouldn't?)

I understand your confusion, Shouta

I got a feeling that Taneshima will be an annoying character that I have to deal with but the show promised lots of other interesting characters so I think they balanced her out perfectly. For example:
  • the manager, Shirafuji Kyoko, is a straight forward kinda girl. She didn't do much work and is honest about it as she told Shouta with a straight face. Then she told a customer that she needs to burn the ugly fat when she complained about the restaurant was too hot. That's hilarious. And she's very sensitive when it comes to her age.
  • Satou Jun who looks so damn cool with his hair covering half of his face. I'm not sure if that's hygienic enough for a chef though since his hair might gets in the food.
  • Souma Hiroomi, the chatty blue-haired person who seems to be closed friends with with Satou. He's also one of the chef. Apparently the chefs in Wagnaria are all good looking hunks.
  • Todoroki Yachiyo, the shift leader who carries around a katana on her waist, even during working hour. She NEVER opens her eyes, that's how fucking badass she is.
  • And then there's Miharu Inami who is androphobic. Shouta got punched in the face as a greeting! lmao I have never met an anime character that's androphobic before.
  • Let's not forget the forgettable protagonist, shall we? Takanashi Shouta is just like any other male out there. I love hearing his thoughts. At first I was afraid if he has any romantic feelings for Taneshima because that would just ruined everything. To my big relief, he is kinda a weirdo ^o^
So much win!

As you can tell, this first episode is pretty much an introductory episode for all the characters. I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next episode already.

First Impression: Durarara!!

With Dance in the Vampire Bund turned out to be such a mega disappointment, I am relying on Durarara!! to at least made the winter 2009 worth something. People keep saying how this is similar to Baccano! and since I like Baccano! I have quite an expectation for this show. We will know whether or not those expectation will be met after half and hour.

Glad to report that I like the OP immediately. Just like Baccano! they kinda introduced their characters in the OP vid. Something that I really like actually since I tend to forgot characters' names. Good sign indeed.

Let me make a brief introduction of the character Mikado Ryugamine. I dunno what his problem is but he is a wuss who really likes to stay at home. He never ventured out to Tokyo until now, when he decided to attend the Raira Academy in East Ikebukuro, with his best friend, Masaomi Kida.

Mikado really has to rely on Masaomi to show him the rope of being the "Ikebukuronese" as he calls it. It is also through Masaomi that Mikado gets to know some of the other characters.

Then there are characters that seemingly has nothing to do with Mikado or Masaomi but I'm pretty sure they are connected one way or the other soon. This is where the most intriguing character in my opinion, appeared. The man in black riding a black motorcycle with no lights on, who apparently doesn't have a head and carries a scythe inside his hollow body. Awesome PAWNSOME.

Yeah he totally did that, dude! BAM!

There also appeared to be an online chatting session going on. Since I am so fucked up when it comes to details, I ain't sure who they are. Maybe I'll get it when I watch it the second time around. I suspect these guys as the informant for the show since they discuss about what's going on out there like people committing mass suicides or the disappearance of teenagers.

That's a pretty cool chatting application ^^"

Like in Baccano! all the characters can be considered as the main characters. They are all significance in this show. I like that a lot. And the character designs somehow reminds me of Yozakura Quartet, especially Mikado.

After all the anime-shit I've seen recently, Durara is like a breath of fresh air. The art is amazing, the story too and the characters are awesome. Did I mention that I love the ED song as well? And on top of that, there is the promise of bloodfest even if it's a little =3

I can't freaking wait to meet the other characters!

Bleach: Fade to Black - Kimi no Na o Yobu

BLEACH Fade to Black 君の名を呼ぶ or Burichi: Fade to Black - Kimi no Na o Yobu, is the third movie for the shounen manga/anime series Bleach. The film was directed by the same director that did the first two movies of Bleach, Noriyuke Abe, and written by Masashi Sogo and Kubo Tite himself. Just like the first two films, the music is done by Shiro Sagisu. However the movie's theme is "Koyoi, Tsuki wa Miezu Tomo", performed by Porno Grafitti. The movie was released in Japan in December 13, 2008 while the DVD was on September 30, 2009. This movie had cost US$35 million in the making O_0.

Mayuri Kurotsuchi was attacked by a scythe user just as he perfected some sort of potion, which caused him to lost his memory. His ever perceptive fukutaicho Nemu Kurotsuchi came to the rescue a tad too late. In his confusion, he destroyed the control panel using his oh-so-nasty zanpaktou. Zaraki Kenpachi who was the first captain to arrive at the scene was quickly assaulted by Mayuri poisonous caterpillar baby. Obviously the lab was destroyed triggering a massive explosion that cost amnesia to all shinigami in Seiretei.

In all these havoc, the scythe user used the potion to release snake-ish reiatsus thingy froze everything on it path. It was a mega scale attack on Seireitei. The purpose of the invasion is this and only this:

Rukia's first appearance! w00t!! :3

Rukia who was about to go back to Seiretei (she's from the real world) was attacked by the same scythe wielder. Just like Mayuri, her memory vanished instantly. The scythe wielder apparently has a partner and the two of them said something vengeful towards the shinigami in general as they were about to leave Seiretei with Rukia in the scythe wielder's arm.

Guess who is the first person to notice that something is not right with Rukia ? Oh hell yes!

Back in Karakura town, Ichigo was gazing out of the windows when he felt something is wrong. He wasn't sure what it was though since his memory as a shinigami was erased too. His attention was quickly diverted to Kon who was reading Rukia's coded letter. As he has no memories of nee-san, he disregarded whatever Kon was saying and went to sleep. This is when he remembers everything (I would like to believe he was able to remember on his own because of his strong feelings and deep connection with Rukia :3) and woke up with a start. He was able to read the coded letter without hassle much to Kon's amusement because a while ago, Ichigo has no freaking clue of what the letter was saying (yet another example on how Rukia and Ichigo operate on the same level).

Who will you go to if you have shinigami problem? Urahara Kisuke! *insert Ghostbuster's theme* Unfortunately for Ichigo, Urahara didn't remember Rukia either. However they learned that third of Soul Society was destroyed and there might be a relation with everyone's inability to remember Rukia.

I couldn't stop myself from chuckling when Urahara asked Ichigo who Rukia is to him. I think Urahara all knowing smirks kinda answered the obvious question XD

I dare you to lie, dickhead

"Precious comrade", eh? Ichigo, you fucktard...

Urahara opened the Senkaimon gate for Ichigo after he got his answer. Once in Soul Society, Ichigo and Kon were amazed at the devastation. As they walked around, they met Hisagi Shuuhei. Before they were properly introduced, the invaders from the previous night attacked again. I was freaking impressed when Hisagi used Bakudou #62 Hyappo Rankan against the snake-ish thingy. Although it has little to no effect, it was still freaking cool. Ichigo on the other hand used his vaizard's Getsuga Tensho with no hesitation (he didn't said the usual incantation. He just grunt! OMG! *melts*). Of course, the other shinigami who never saw (or couldn't remember) a shinigami with a hollow mask didn't hesitate to attack Ichigo. I squirt when I saw Ichigo fighting the lower rank Shinigami. Smooth good quality animation FTW!!

*nosebleed*

Besides the lower rank Shinigami and Hisagi, Ichigo was confronted by Abarai Renji and Komamura Sajin. Everyone was confused as to how did Ichigo knows their names. Ichigo who was frustrated at Renji tried a different tactic: Rukia. Renji could feel something but since he's rather retarded to begin with, he ignored those familiar feelings and continued to attack Ichigo. But nothing beats Komamura retardedness when he went bankai on Ichigo's ass. Jeebus. I is glad that his bankai was defeated by Ichigo (he doesn't even need to go on vaizard mode).

Meanwhile, Rukia found herself in a shack in a district of Rukongai that she used to live. She was greeted by her kidnapper in a loving manner. The girl especially seems so happy to get re-acquainted with Rukia again.

I present thee the hawt kidnappers! In case you didn't notice the oppai, the blond is a chick ^^

The siblings are not a threat to Rukia, just to Soul Society. When Rukia asked for their names, they answered that Rukia had promised to give them names not long ago. This makes Rukia remember of their acquaintances. In the flashback that follows, the siblings were small kids and Rukia was taking care of them somehow. When she questioned what has she been up to all these years, they lied and said she was sleeping (*facepalm*).

Back in Seiretei, Kuchiki Byakuya kinda have a feelings that something is amiss. He went back to his manor and search every rooms looking for nothing in particular but was hoping that he could find something. Then he got into Rukia's room (WTF? empty?!) and saw the chappy carved on the table. Upon intruding the Kuchiki manor, Ichigo chanced upon Byakuya standing staring at his late wife picture. I love the words Ichigo used to make Byakuya remembers Rukia. Those words carry so much emotions. It shows us how well he knows Rukia as a person.

But of course it was Renji's duty to interrupt such moments as he attacked Ichigo. The animation during the fight is superb. The fact that Ichigo who was melancholy when he tried to make Byakuya remembers but acted all gruff and manly in trying to do the same thing just so effing awesome. It makes me drools.

You don't want to mess Ichigo when he's in desperately horny-for-Rukia mode

I love Kon's body/face reaction when Zabimaru and Zangetsu clashed after Ichigo went bankai *drools at Ichigo serious face*

Byakuya couldn't resist Ichigo's puppy-eyes after he defeated Renji so he told Ichigo that Hisana was born in Inuzuri.

can you resist meh?!

Cue flashback on Byakuya and Hisana. It still annoyed me to no end that Hisana and Rukia look so much alike. I know they are siblings and all but damn, couldn't Kubo be creative a bit? I mean Ganju looks like an adopted child of the Shiba! Thank goodness Hisana and Rukia have totally different personalities.

That piece of information that Byakuya provided proved to be rather priceless for Ichigo. Not long after Ichigo arrived at District 78, Kon picked up Rukia's scent while Ichigo picked up her reiatsu (yosh!) . They found her on the hill where her friends' graves are. My heart breaks when I saw how totally lost Ichigo is when Rukia doesn't remember who he is.

Kubo and his symbolism *teary eyes*

Ichigo almost succeed at making Rukia remembers but she was assaulted with terrible headache and she was taken away by the siblings (after they attacked Ichigo) leaving the dejected Ichigo behind.

:(

There is only in one other occasion that I remember Ichigo looking as depressed as this. It was in the manga/anime after the SS arc when Rukia chose to stay in Soul Society and didn't follow the ryokas back to the real world. Ichigo was at complete lost then, as noticed by Inoue Orihime herself, as he is now when Rukia failed to remember who he is. It was only after Rukia get back to him that he went back to his usual self (get what I'm trying to implied here fools?! >3).

I was thankful to Kon for putting some sense into Ichigo's head. Like Kon said, even when no one else remember who Rukia is, Ichigo remembers. That means he is still connected to Rukia. After Kon schooled him, he went away leaving Ichigo behind to think what he had just said. Looking at the letter Rukia left for him, it makes him reminisced the time when she was in his room (cue flashback)

I don't see Inoue and Ichigo share this intimate moment, do you? >3

While Ichigo reminiscing, Rukia was grueling the siblings about Ichigo. The siblings told Rukia the truth, that they just came back. They had been looking for Rukia for a 100 years and tried to persuade Rukia to believe that Shinigami is bad news. Despite their effort, Rukia got another flashing images of Ichigo and this time around her headache was so unbearable, she lost consciousness. Since the siblings really love Rukia, it was a given that they think it was Ichigo's fault.

Back to the depressed Ichigo, when he finished reminiscing, Kon came back to look for the letter. Then out of the blue Ichigo said to Kon, "I don't need you to tell me that I'm not ready yet". Bhuahahaha you don't need to be a rocket scientist or a brain surgeon to understand what that means =D

Right after he got his motivation back, Ichigo was confronted by Hitsugaya Toushiro, Yumichika and Madarame Ikkaku. Another awesome fighting scene ensued. I smirked at the annoyed face of Ikkaku. I was happy to report that Ichigo has difficulties against Toushiro despite the size different. It just goes to show that he deserved that Captain title. I was relieved when Renji interfere at the last moment when Toushiro is ready to give Ichigo the final blow though. And then the old fuck Yamaji appeared with Shunhui, Soi-Fon, Ukitake and his fukutaicho, all the while showing off his supposedly-incredible reiatsu. No negotiating my ass! Urgh! So hate! If he's so great, why couldn't he find the true fuckers who did this to Seiretei? Fucking stupid old fuck *grumbles*

I have to give credit to the 2nd Division though. I love it when those ninjas appeared and surrounded Ichigo and Renji but loads of them couldn't defeated the smexy Urahara. I squeal when he appeared wearing the 12th Division Captain robe (in your face, old fuck!) with Benihime singing praises. Where there's Urahara, there is Yourichi as well. These two urges Renji and Ichigo to look for Rukia while they handle the old fuck and the captains. Urahara explained to them about the hollow he encountered so long ago that used scythe to erase memory of the soul it possessed. Mayuri kinda experimented on it and like any other things with Mayuri, he does it at a crazy scale, without giving much thought that it could imposed a threat to Soul Society (I loves him for that).

(Btw, Soi-Fon attitude really irks me. She was being a bitch towards Urahara and considered him a traitor. But wasn't Yourichi the same? Yet she fucking blush whenever they made contact. Stupid effing lesbian ninja.)

In order to find Rukia, Ichigo must used kido that relies on the bond/link between them (Kubo makes sure that only Ichigo can do it). Once activated, the red ribbon connected Ichigo and Rukia, which helped Ichigo pin-pointed her location at that time: Mayuri's lab.

The male sibling has some sort of doubt that what they were doing will only hurts Rukia but the female will not back down from the plan. In their head, their plan was flawless. Without shinigami Rukia will stay forever with them. However, Rukia stopped the siblings when they want to activate the potion machine. In frustration, the female sibling leaked her purple-blackish reiatsu. It was mayhem.

It deterred Ichigo and Renji only momentarily. Renji released his bankai, Hihio Zabimaru and so does Ichigo. It has been a while since he called out his bankai release name properly. I almost forgot that his bankai zanpaktou is called Tensa Zangetsu.

The background effect for Tensa Zangetsu is freaking awesome~

The epic entrance. Hot male shinigamis are hot *brain explodes*

One look at Renji, Rukia finally remembers him. This only fuel Ichigo's determination to make Rukia remembers him as well, stating that Rukia he knows would never lose herself in such a way and would not stop at being a shinigami.

In her panic, the female sibling kinda slipped and told Rukia that she used to be a shinigami too. Upon hearing this Rukia asked Ichigo to repeat his name at which her memories return as she choked Ichigo's name (I effing love the flashback, it was very telling).

This however makes the siblings very angry. They held Rukia hostage and declared that they will not forgive Ichigo for trying to steal her away from them. The female proceed of wishing for her, Rukia and her brother to merge and become one so that they'll be together forever. Thus, Dark Rukia was born. Without missing a beat, Dark Rukia proceeded with their interrupted plan, releasing hell upon Seireitei.

Renji told Ichigo to stay by Dark Rukia, referring her as "that woman" since she was the reason Ichigo was here in the first place, and he will deal with the snake-ish thingy (Renji can be cool sometimes ^_^). This when the others joined the fight too.

Ichigo was forced to fight Rukia but he never actually attacks her. He didn't even went on vaizards mode (which he usually does most of the time nowadays). He tried his best to make Rukia remembers as they fight but to no avail. Like the other fight scenes, this one is made of awesomesauce as well. I so want to see Rukia pulls that kind of slick moves in the in the future.

At the same time, the others were fighting the tentacle monster. I would not go into details of the fight but it was quite EPIC (OMG Benihime... I love the sound it makes when Urahara swings it *fangasm*).

Dark Rukia was about to decapitate Ichigo when Byakuya came and used the bakudou #61 on her. Byakuya and Renji then informed Ichigo that Rukia has turned hollow and must be killed. Of course Ichigo wouldn't hear any of that. He knows that Rukia can be saved. It's not too late because like he said, "It doesn't matter what happens, we (he and Rukia) are still connected". As he pleads desperately hoping that Rukia could remember, he thought of how he gained the shinigami power thanks to her. Realizing that it was their only option, he asked for Byakuya's permission to save Rukia.

symbolism FTW!!

Granted that, he stabs Rukia with Zangetsu and gives her his shinigami power. Now the cycle is completed. Rukia has his power and he has hers.

Like my friend doeman said: my butt cheeks were clenched so hard I almost got a cramp! lol
With that Rukia turned back into a shinigami and collapsed into Ichigo's waiting arms where he hugged her as he protected her from the explosion.

As Ichigo was busy saving Rukia, Byakuya and Renji destroyed Mayuri's lab. With the destruction, all the shinigami regained their lost memories.

After Rukia comes back to her senses, Ichigo greeted her with a simple "Yo", just like he did at Sokyouku (*fangasm*). The smiling Rukia then asked for Ichigo's permission to meet the two siblings. She only went to the siblings after Ichigo said so.

Rukia's rape slaves

I admitted that I got teary eyed when they told Rukia that they have no one else to turn to except Rukia (cue flashback about their disappearance and why Rukia doesn't remember them). Right after Rukia told them their names: "Homura" and "Shizuku", the siblings fade leaving the sad Rukia crying out to the heavens. I feel her pains. And then OMG it rains! It's fucking rains! It was raining when Ichigo's mom died. It was raining when Ichigo finally encountered the Grand Fisher. It was raining when Rukia held him on her lap. It was raining when Kaien died. It was raining now too! w00t!!

In the final scenes when Rukia said that Ichigo has saved her again, Ichigo retaliated and said that she had saved him first. He said, "You know, if death is not really the end for us too, that encounter maybe a beginning" referring to when Rukia gave him her shinigami powers and "we could've been linked for much longer. A connection once linked, it will never disappear" . To me that sounds like him suggested that their bond is eternal :3

He addressed her as shinigami when he bids her farewell, to which she replied with the same exact words from their first encounter: "It's not shinigami. It's Kuchiki Rukia" (*ZOMG fangasm!*).

End.

Fuwahhh!!! This review takes a whole day to write! Why so long? Because i couldn't stop fangasm at every little things (I is too spent to proof-read this post. Gomen). This is the fourth time I'm watching it and the effects are pretty much the same. Like I promised, here are some of the pictures worthy of fangasm (could you tell that I want to be in Ichigo's pantsu? XD)

The reason why there are so much of Ichigo is because I love the strong emotion carved on his face (all of those expressions are taken when he talked about Rukia ;3). We are so used to his other indifferent expression that this is sorta refreshing.

The first time I watched it raw, I noticed that Homura's voice sounded familiar and suspect that it belongs to Aya Hirano. I was right. No wonder I like Homura right away after I heard her voice. This explains her set of oppai too ^o^

I retracted my phailed quality comment in my first look review. I don't have any complains after 4 times watching it so far. I must be on over critical mode when I first saw it raw. Comparing my notes with the subs, I wasn't far off from what was being said either (*pat self at the back*). However I still couldn't get the truth about Rukia's pantiless hollow uniform.

It is safe to say that this happens during or slightly after the Soul Society arc. How can I be so sure? Just look at Mayuri-sama head piece.

I like his SS-arc head piece compared to his post-SS-arc Pharoah style

If you notice the pattern, almost everyone who are close with Rukia questioned Ichigo's determination to save Rukia and why he tries so hard to make everyone remember who she is. His answer and the reactions from the other characters: Urahara, Kon, Renji and Byakuya kind of confirmed the relationship and his feelings towards Rukia. His words: "Rukia and I are linked. I'll find her for sure" is another strong testament from Ichigo, showing how determined he is. It wasn't a question whether or not can he do it, but a question of when.

Like many others who have seen this movie, I am surprise at how deep they are focusing on Ichigo and Rukia relationship. Even as an IchiRuki fan, it was unexpected. It makes me wonder if Kubo is trying to say something with the movie. His heavy involvement with the whole story and character designs sure looks like he is trying to tell us what we have already known over the years (thanks to his interviews and color spreads and wot not): IchiRuki is canon ^_^

/end IchiRuki-high.
