Aku no Hana

It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.

A Year Older: Again

It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.

Goodbye 2012 and Hallo 2013

So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.

Light Writings: Love II

I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.

Light Writings: Crush II

Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.

First Impression: Muv-Luv Alternative - Total Eclipse

It was easy for me to dismiss this show and put it in the anishit list for my preview for the simple fact that I am not a fan of boobs or any of the genres. I have also seen figures being made for this show which often means that I made the right decision. My logic is fucked up sometimes but I'm fine with it. Problem?

Muv-Luv Alternative is pretty much about a bunch of girls driving a mecha to fight off alien invaders. They are still kids with barely any training but obviously one/two of them girls will be great and such. It is a pretty much standard mecha story all over again. Having said that, the pace was good and the setup wasn't all that bad at all.

I just don't understand the tight-suit part. Why the hell they have to create it to look like that? Did pervert invented them? That should explain all the unnecessary exposures. And why the hell am I ranting about this shit?

Anyhoo, I wasn't a fan of the character designs. It was typical and wasn't even that sharp. Maybe they literally took the 90's concept because it really does feels outdated. The sound, especially during the war, was pretty accurate though so credits for that. Too bad I don't really pay any attention to the seiyuu but overall I think they did good.

I stand corrected though. This show does not deserved a place in my anishit list at all. Unfortunately, like I said, I am not a fan of the genres and so, even though I somewhat enjoyed the first episode, I doubt that I will have time to sit through the rest of 23 episodes. I don't think I will enjoy it that much.

However I will watch several more episodes just because I want to see Daisuke Ono's character. Heh.

First Impression: Campione!

Magical shit and harem loves comedy are two things that I am not really fond of so from the beginning I have this notion that this show is either gonna makes me rage, or it will makes me rage. I hope by the end of this first episode, it will present a third option for me. I don't have to like it, but it has to be tolerable at least.

(c) sikorsky
Campione! is about Godou who went to Italy to deliver a stone tablet which turned out to be a grimoire. He met Erica, a magical girl and immediately after that was attacked by heretic god who looks like a wild boar. 48 hours later, Godou became the 6th (or was it 7th - I wasn't paying attention) lord of the world, since obviously he helped at defeating the said God.

It was all too lame for me to even consider watching this shit.

The art and animation was borderline average. I don't give a damn about the seiyuu since they failed to grab my attention the first time around and so I ended up raging to this show just like I have predicted.

I dropped it after 8 minutes in.

First Impression: Chitose Get You!!

Chitose Get You! is another 3 minutes anime that aired this season and I wasn't so fond of the idea behind the story, especially since the way it was drawn, Chitose looks like a kindergarten kid to me than an 11 year old kid.

This show is about Chitose obsessing over her male teacher. This reminds me a lot of Hanamaru Youchien that was aired back in Winter 2009 and my opinion for such show still hasn't changed much. Even though there are some moments where I thought Chitose might made me laugh with her antics, the joke sorta fall short.

So I guess that's about it. My adventure with Chitose ends here. I don't have time to see an 11 year old kid getting horny.

First Impression: Oda Nobuna no Yabou

I find myself attracted to anything historical as of late. First it was the Shinsengumi era, then the Nobunaga era. Besides, this one is produced by Madhouse so I expect something tolerable if not great. I did change my mind about it when I saw the character designs so at least they have done something right there.

Ambition of Oda Nobuna is pretty much like any other anime that evolves around Nobunaga: of conquering Japan with his/her sidekick and enemies. In this show though, there is the added element from the future which is Sagara Yoshiharu, a really good looking boy, who somehow ended up in the era and is helping out Nobuna. I'm pretty sure they will end up together eventually but I just can't seem to care.

though I don't mind reading the doujinshi about these two =\

The comedy was cheap and borderline stupid. Most of it comes from the over-reaction from Yoshiharu. The story was weak and doesn't has anything new to add for this genre of anime. Basically I was disappointed.

But like I said, at least Madhouse does something right with the character designs, animation and the whole shebang. They were above average. Too bad the story failed to add value to the arts and animation otherwise this could have been tolerable for me.

Which means I am dropping this show without any regrets whatsoever. I'm not saying that it is shit though. It's just not my cup of tea.

First Impression: Ben-to

In my preview for Fall, I predicted that Ben-to could possibly be the worst anime of the season just based on that synopsis alone. So far C³ is on the first place for the shittiest anime this Fall. Let see if Ben-to can beat that, shall we?

(c) Cccpo

The show started with a bang, or tried to when Satou, the typical no personality protagonist, can't seem to remember anything while he was bleeding on the floor. The fact was he was in a bento tournament and met all these boobies ladies (who are his schoolmates) and will in a matter of time be his harem.

Life is unfair.

Ben-to has nothing to offer. Absolutely none. The animation is below average. It even becomes pretentious when it comes to the actions. For something with such ridiculous story line, it can only works if it's funneh but it just failed at delivering the punch lines. Part of the fault lies with the characters. They were forgettable and nothing that you haven't seen before, typical archetype for harem. I think the show also wants to go ecchi but somehow them skimmed on it and just gives us plenty of stockings/pantyhose instead. I mean, if they already have a sure-fail story, so why the hell are they holding back? If they have gone all out with the animation as well as the comedy side of it, maybe I might ended up enjoying it like I did with Majikoi and Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon.

Watching Ben-to is like watching the wall. It is just monotonous and fucking boring. It failed to evoke any emotions from me, not even rage. In that case, I am not sure which is worst: C³ or this show. Maybe they are on par.

I am most surprised to learn that this show falls under the "action" genre when it should be classified as SHIT.

First Impression: Kamisama no Memochou

I can't recall what I wrote in my preview for the summer. After checking it up, no wonder I can't remember anything because I was so ready to be disappoint by another one of J.C. Staff's anime though I did surprisingly came up with a list of top 10 anime for this production studio.

The English title for this show is "It's the only NEET Thing to Do" and it falls under the mystery genres. Since I dunno what to expect from such title, except that I've seen anime blogger wants to watch the show simply because it's the only NEET thing to do. Congratulation, J.C. Staff. Your marketing strategy works.

Err... when did kamisama translated to NEET anyway? *shrug*

Good news is, I am totally taken in by the story for the first seven minutes and 15 seconds. The great news is, I continue to feel good about this show for the remaining 17 minutes and thirty one seconds.

All the characters that made it appearance in this first episode manage to get me interested in them for one reason or the other. The male protagonist, Narumi Fujushima is a loner and there is just something in his almost golden eyes that makes me want to see how he develops as a character. There's his classmate Ayaka who might be the only person (at first) to show him any sign of interest. Then there's that NEET group of boys who seem to be working under Alice; Tetsu, Major and Hiro. Who's Alice? Well, suffice to say this show is evolve around her. She's a hikki online detective. There's also Min, the owner of a ramen shop where the NEETs hang out. The meeting of these people though not unique but still sparks something that I don't often see in anime these days.

In term of character designs, everyone else look average (nothing really stands out) but has is quite a striking traits with her long hair and big rounded eyes. Almost reminds me of Enma Ai. Though I said they are average, their personality definitely is over the top except for Naruma. He's your typical hero type of protagonist. Saying that means you have to pay credits to the seiyuu for putting lives into these characters. Even Naruma isn't as boring as his character appeared to be.

He's voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka. He hasn't done that many shows. According to MAL, only two works so far and this is his second one. He's quite good as Naruma maybe that's why he's entrusted with a leading male protagonist. Someone I need to watch out for. I am not familiar of the other seiyuu (except Daisuke Ono but he's yet to make an appearance) so it's not fair for me to judge them though like I've said earlier, they did a good job.

If there's an OP to this show, I must have missed it, so engrossed I was with the whole thing.

I expected a show of tsundere loli but J.C. Staff surprises me with how 'mature' this turn out to be. The story is definitely takes a higher more sophisticated road (though Alice is still a loli). Good job indeed hough I do agree with Scamp that this show could have been on another different level if SHAFT produced it. Or Brain Base since for whatever reason this sorta reminds me of Durarara.

I am definitely going to watch this show for the summer. Who would have thought. I love it when a production studio proved me wrong :)

First Impression: Kore wa Zombie desu ka

As I have said in my preview, I wasn't really looking forward to watch this because of the magic theme until my friend told me that it is full of random goodness. That reminds me of Gintama so it kinda gets my attention. This is why I am a tad behind with the first impression post.

My friend wasn't lying. I lol'd when Aikawa Ayumu, seemingly a serious protagonist, suddenly jumped in front of a moving lorry and declared that he's a zombie. And so the randomness begin.

Lets meet the characters. We already know what Aikawa is. His housemate is Eucliwood Heelscythe, she is the necromancer that brought him back from the dead. Then he met with the magical girl Haruna. I usually loath a character like her but she brought something different to the table. With her saw and unexpected comment, I find her surprisingly tolerable, and sometimes funny. Her job is fighting Mugelo whatever the fuck that is. Unfortunately her power has been drained and transferred to Aikawa so his days of cross-dressing begin.

that's the cutest penis in pantsu I have ever seen :3
(c) mochiko

Despite the randomness, this show actually has a plot. Aikawa was murdered and he became a zombie because he wants to find his murderer. You can also see from the OP that there would probably be some fighting/action in the show. I was expecting the fight to have similar quality to the one in the OP but I was hoping too much. It was meh because the focus is obviously on the comedy.

The OP and ED were boring and the seiyuus are kinda average. I do not know any of them but then again I don't usually pay attention to female seiyuu. The arts and animations for this show have it moments but majority of the episode feels blah. As for the character designs, the team did a fine job. Each characters designs shows their personality as a person.

This show is not for those who takes their anime seriously. I on the other hand appreciate this kind of comedy. I don't see too much cliche (perhaps none) in thisone and that's good. It was unexpected and that's why I enjoyed it. After the disastrous Starry Sky and Dragon Crisis, Studio DEEN has finally managed to do something right this season.

First Impression: MM!

When I first saw the synopsis in Scamp's chart, I thought that this show might be interesting as it focus on masochism. What I didn't expect however is how fucking stupid this platform can be if they fucked it up.

The person who has the masochist tendency is none other than the protagonist, Tarou Sado. One day he went to the 2nd Volunteering Club (WTF is with that name anyway? It represent shit about the club) to tell about his "problem". Little that he know the president is a psychopath. Fortunately though this just works perfectly for a perverted asshole like himself, who loves being abused and fuck he was being abused from start to finish. Jeebus, it gets on my fucking nerves.

For fuck sake, if you want to cure someone who is a masochist, fucking stop abusing them! But then again Mio is pretty much a tsundere sadist. I say fucking cure yourself first, you slut!

Whoa, I was ready to give this shit up when suddenly I was hit with a BL plot?! WHAT?! This is so not fair!! Thank fucking heaven that the BL ended before it even started otherwise I might be forced to watch this shit till the end >>

The fact that Tarou is voiced by Jun Fukuyama and Tomokazu Sugita even has a role in this one does nothing to calm my rage. I can't believe I just wasted half and hour on this shit.

First Impression: Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt

I've seen a lot of first thoughts in the anime blogsphere about this anime. Since I want to avoid spoilers, I didn't check them out. So this anime has potential to be either really good are just really bad otherwise people won't be raging about it like they did.

Many have compared this to Power Puff Girls and for good reason. Allowed me to say that I really don't like the art and animation. It might be an eye candy with all those vibrant colors and what not but my dislike stems from the fact that this is too westernized. If I want to see something like this, I just have to switch on the Cartoon Network. I hope that in the coming future, there will be no more emulating the western cartoon theme. I like anime because of the Japanese quality to it. This is just... *rejects*

But lets not get too negative with my review. I have only seen the first 5 minutes of the episode after all. Though let me make it clear that every sound that I heard so far really annoyed me to hell. Yes, even the seiyuus. Especially the seiyuus. The dog, Chuck, in particular really gets on my nerves. The sound effects too are just too over-the-top. I understand why they intentionally did that but it will just keep me irritated from start to finish. What the hell is with the OP anyway? Panty stocking panty stocking chant? *facepalm*

The ED on the other hand is good, but yet again, very westernized.

Now lets talk about what this show is all about. I don't even know where the fuck to begin. I feel like the show just insulted my intelligent. Their first episode is about a poop monster? Way to market your product. Anyway, Panty and Stocking are pretty much like Blossom, Bubble and Buttercup. They have superpower or something. But they aren't made from sugar, spice and everything nice. In fact, it's on the contrary. Panty is a whore and Stocking who is a Gothic chic have an obsession with sugar. They live with Garterbelt, a black priest who has the same role as the Professor in Power Puff Girls. I assumed every week they will have a different monster/enemy pop up. The girls mission is to collect the Heaven coin. I am still not clear for what but y guess is since they are both pretty much bad girls, they are buying their way to the heaven. I wonder if this show will have a Mojo Jojo too. Yep, it feels like this is a parody of that ever so popular American show for kids. But instead of for kids, I think this show targeted to the more matured audience.

See what I mean?

I guess all those virgin otakus and lolicon out there will fap every time Panty and Stocking transform. They pretty much did a pole dancing with really sexually arousing movements. Panty by the way, will fight the enemy panty-less. Why? Because she will take off her pantsu and turned it into a pistol. Same goes to Stocking but instead of pantsu, she used, you guessed it, stocking hence their names. Like I said, I feel like I have been insulted.

Each story last around 15 minutes or so which mean in one episode there will be two different stories. Sounds familiar? This is how the western dudes and duddettes used to do it too.

Despite the rant, Panty and Stocking are interesting characters. Panty is so morally unethical. She fucked every good looking guys she laid her eyes on and pretty much ride them until they are spent. She cursed a lot and fuck is probably her favorite words, unsurprisingly. Stocking on the other hand is more calm and collected. Her weapon is a sword so that naturally have me rooted for her.

All I can say is Gainax definitely gives everything they got, the bad and the good. You can either love this or hate it. Either way Gainax has managed to make people talking about how ridiculously outlandish this show is. I am not sure whether or not I want to see more of it though. It will probably depends on whether or not I want a mindfuck. That's not really a bad thing.

First Impression: Ladies versus Butlers

The anime is about a boy who looks like a delinquent and just transferred to a private school that teaches you how to be a maid/butler/servant. Point #1: stupid premises.

This is Hino, the luckiest bastard in the school

On his first day at school, he was mistaken as a delinquent by a girl whose hair looks like a croissant, it fucking pissed me off. The boy, Hino Akiharu, called it the drills.

Love at first sight... eventually *rolleyes*

She is a stuck-up bitch who goes around flaunting her family's name: Flamehart. Apparently Cernia is one of the main girls in the series. She was pissed of because Hino name-calling her hair decided to charge at him. The plan back fired. Instead she got molested and she was excited by it too. I hate her right away. Point #2: stupid heroin is stupid.

She was referring to her boobs >_>

By the way, for whatever fucked up reason, whenever the girls student saw Hino, they fell unconscious. What's up with that? And then he was mistaken as a lolicon pervert. If that is not enough, he almost got raped by a crazy bitch with boobs the size of his head. Point #3: stupid gags are stupid.

I litterally facepalm when I saw this *headdesk*

Yes, we have established that already when you almost cum just with his head in between your butt-cheeks

But wait, there's a silver lining in the cloudy sky! We have Suzuhashi Tomomi a.k.a. Saikyo. A win character in otherwise moronic-fest of boobs. She is the other heroin of this series. A childhood friend of Hino and she is going to make his life a hell. Point #4: Sadistic girl is win!

Saikyo plotting sadistic stuffs XD

They have not introduced the story yet but I am sure that Hino will turn out as a butler for the Flamehart and Cernia would want to get in his pants sooner or later. I think all the girls would, except for Saikyo because she's not a loser like the rest of them. Even if she did fall for him, it just to satisfy her sadistic-self and makes Hino a masochist.

The censorship is uber stupid: smokescreen. Obviously this is an ecchi anime which is probably why this is the first and the last time I'm gonna watch this. Unless someone said something intriguing about it, like Saikyo raping Hino's butt >=D

The anime is cutesy enough I guess. All the boobs looks like they are hanging mangos with tits, jiggling at appropriate times. The characters are okay. They kinda introduced a tsundere, a sadistic, a loli, a nun, the ghotic chic, the clumsy maid and a pervert bitch. I also suspected that Hino's room-mate is actually a girl. Harem WTF is coming soon >_>

You can't molest/rape the willing, bitch!

The predictable storyline is weak. This has potential to hurt my brain so I'm going to put it away.
