Aku no Hana

It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.

A Year Older: Again

It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.

Goodbye 2012 and Hallo 2013

So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.

Light Writings: Love II

I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.

Light Writings: Crush II

Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.

My Favorite Character List: A

Here I am, going to list my favorite character from every anime that I have completed in alphabetical order. It probably take a while till we get to Z but I sure am happy for at least I have something to post

Glo has written his list as I am sure many other anime bloggers have. Now it is my turn and pretend that someone actually care. I am going to pick only one character from every anime. Though it sounds simple, it wasn't. Writing this favorite character list is going to be stressful indeed and emotional too. Lets dive into it then.

anime: 5cm per second
character: Tohno Takaki
seiyuu: Kenji Mizuhashi

I am all for distant relationship. I know many think that it won't work and perhaps they are right but the thrill just ain't the same. I should know. I was in a distant relationship for 4 years. It would have work too if one of us didn't chicken out. Hence why I picked Takaki as my favorite character from this greatly written movie. Despite their ages and the temptation, he manages to hold on to the promise he and Akari made. I wished my ex would have came by the train to meet me too. That would have been awfully romantic. Oh well... things weren't meant to be *shrugs*

anime: AIKa: Zero
character: Aika Sumeragi
seiyuu: Ami Koshimizu

Oh god, I contemplated whether or not I should include stupid OVAs like this one but I don't want to cheat so it doesn't matter that I dislike this three episodes OVA, I am still going to find a character to pick as my favorite or in this case, a character that I can tolerate. After much deliberation, I have to go with Aika just because she's good with planes. I still am not sure why the fuck did I watch this ecchi OVAs. I should have dropped it when I saw too many panties shot. Orz

anime: Ai no Kusabi (1992)
character: Riki
seiyuu: Toshihiko Seki

I have a thing for dark hair men (you will read contradictory statement later on) so naturally I fell for Riki. It's fun to see him all bonded and what not for Mink (who reminds me of Baka Prince by the way). He's such a turn on. Who cares if he looks like a girl sometimes? Oh god, did I mention that he's so gay?!

anime: Air Gear
character: Kazuma "Kazu" Mikura
seiyuu: Kenn

He is the underdog who was always got bullied by Ikki. I like him the instant I laid my eyes on him. Maybe that snowhat or the way he dresses or simply the fact that he's blonde but he has that certain qualities about him that made him different. He has high regards for girls and unlike Ikki, he has morals. I like the fact that even though he doesn't has natural talent, he pushed himself to become better and eventually the best, one that can rival Ikki.

anime: Aki Sora
character: Nami Aoi
seiyuu: Kana Ueda

Tell me honestly now, who doesn't want to be her? She gets to fuck Kana and then have a threesome with Aki and Sora. Isn't that what every teenage girl dream of? XD

anime: Aku no Hana
character: Nakamura Sawa
seiyuu: Mariya Ise

when she took off  her megane, you best get ready for something evil

I wasn't expecting much from this series and when I first saw the first episode, it was okay until Nakamura Sawa character was introduced. She is not your typical female anime character. Then in episode 2, I was totally hooked. I love her character, every little bit of it; the evil, weird and I-don't-give-a-fuck parts. She somewhat reminds me of myself in a way; planting an evil seed to the mind of innocent shouta. She's awesome and one of the most original character I've seen in anime.

anime: Allison & Lillia
character: Willhelm Schultz
seiyuu: Toshiyuki Morikawa

This is a tough one because all the male protagonists were awesome one way or the other and even Allison is so damn likeable with her personalities. In the end however, I have to choose Will because it takes a real man to handle Allison and he handled her just fine. I also like the fact that he can be so clueless sometimes when it comes to the matter of the heart. That makes him so adorably cute.

anime: Amatsuki
character: Kon Shinonome
seiyuu: Kouji Yusa

FUCK THIS IS HARD! I don't want to choose between Tsuyukusa, Bonten and Kon. All three of them managed to make me wet my pantsu one way or the other but I did promise to pick only one so I go for Kon. He is cool-headed and logical. He lost the used of his arm but it doesn't seem to bother him at all. He took the news and move on, and he actually does better at what he's doing. Goes to show that determination can go a long way. Also, he's a freakingly good cook. Simply put, Kon is my waifu candidate.

anime: Angel Beats!
character: Hinata Hideki
seiyuu: Ryohei Kimura

(c) pixiv ID 290742

This one is easy. I fell for Hinata the first time I laid my eyes on him. Not only he's hot and accessible pairing to almost any of the Brigade members, he is also very funny and gentlemanly. He often gets bullied by Yuri when they are on their missions but he knows where his loyalty lies. I also like the fact that he is such a caring person when he wants to be. Angel Beats 2 should have him as the protagonist. It's the only right route to go. After all, he is the protagonist in the novel prequel "Angel Beats - Track Zero".

anime: Angel's Feather
character: Kyouhei Mitsugi
seiyuu: Tetsuya Kakihara

First of all, let me made clear that this shounen-ai OVA is full of shit so the only way for me to pick my favorite character from this shitfest is by picking the character that I want to fuck the most and that lucky character happens to be Kyouhei, who was Kai fuck buddy. Too bad Kai dumped him in the end to have an incest with his long lost twin brother. Fear not, Kyouhei, Klux is here!

anime: Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai
character: Naruko "Anaru" Anjou
seiyuu: Haruka Tomatsu

(c) Pig 7

It was a toss between Anaru and Yukiatsu. I love them both and actually do want them to happen. I'll be honest though. I have one more episode to go but I can't just seem to get myself to watch it. Ano Hana hits too close to home and I don't think I'm ready to know how it ends yet. Anyhoo, why I like Anaru? Simply because I can see myself in her. I went through the same shit of loving someone who is in love with someone else. She's the most relatable character in Ano Hana for me personally.

anime: Antique Bakery
character: Yusuke Ono
seiyuu: Shinichiro Miki

goddamnit, he's so fuckalicious

He's a patisserie and I love baking. Do the math. Besides, he's gay as fuck and boy he's so damn charming when he wants his man. I want to see Chikage x Ono happens! But above all else, I want to see the live action drama!
edit: I've seen the movie and I don't want Chikage x Ono to happen. I want Tachibana x Ono damn it!

anime: Ao no Exorcist
character: Yukio Okumura
seiyuu: Jun Fukuyama

(c) Pixiv ID 1643580

I am a sucker for a thick-rimmed megane so my heart is set on Yukio ever since I first saw him. But I am not that shallow of a person. Yukio as a character is full of awesomeness. He's responsible and fucking smart but at the same time vulnerable too when it comes to his twin older brother. That sense of vulnerability is what I think completes him and why my heart reaches out to him every single time. Not to mention that he looks fucking hot with them guns in his hands.

anime: Appleseed (2004)
character: Deunan Knute
seiyuu: Romi Paku

I only watched this movie once and I can't say it left me with an impact however I have to admit that Deunan is pretty badass as the protagonist so my vote goes to her. I wish she would stop trying to fuck his now half robot ex though

anime: Arakawa Under the Bridgecharacter: Hoshi
seiyuu: Tomokazu Sugita

(c) mcr

a) he wears a fucking star on his head!
b) he walks around wearing that fucking star on his head!
c) his seiyuu is Tomokazu Sugita for fuck's sake!
d) he actually a smashing good looking guy!
e) he made Ko's life miserable!
f) all the other great and awesome things you can think of!

anime: Ayakashi: Japanese Classic Horror
character: Kusuriuri
seiyuu: Takahiro Sakurai

(c) okazaki takeshi

Another easy pick for me. Between the three horror stories that were featured in this show, the one with the cat is definitely the most memorable story simply because Kusuriuri upstaged everyone else. There is something about Kusuriuri that I can't figure out. His mysteriousness really is one of his best traits after all. He even got his own show 'Mononoke' after that. Goes to show that my taste is impeccable lol

p/s: the list will be updated frequently whenever I completed an anime.

Angel Beats!

(c) mooche

When I checked my first impression for Angel Beats! , I couldn't believe that most of us didn't have anything nice to say about this show. Even I was skeptical. I compared it with porn for fuck sake but I didn’t outright hate it. I said that it was a decent show but definitely not the best one for Spring 2010. Well, I was wrong and I stand corrected. Angel Beats! ended up among the few shows that I look forward to every week for this season.

I guess I have to thank Monroe for this. He was pretty adamant that I watch this series so he has someone he can talk to. I wasn't keen at first, especially when everyone says that this series is trying to imitate The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. As a fan of Haruhi, I obviously have my reservations. Thank goodness, though it has similarities, it is not an exact copy.

Angel Beats! is about a bunch of teenagers who found themselves dead and are living in the afterlife. Most of the students are the NPC while a small portion of the students fight to keep their personality and memories from their previous life. In other words, they have regrets. This small portion of students formed a brigade and they are lead by Yuri (this is where the similarities with Haruhi end). They believe that they have to fight the Angel/Kanade in order not to disappear. This is where normal ends and cue supernatural. They are able to make guns out of clay and so on. It kind of over the top but done with subtlety that you barely notice. The story took a different turn halfway through and that is where you will start to be very appreciative of this show. It throws something different in almost every episode though there is still something to link the plot together.

The involvement of Maeda Jun has been discussed a lot. I have a hate-love relationship with his previous works. I love the beginning for both Clannad (the first season, I hate the ending too much to bother with second season) and Kanon but totally hate the ending. I was afraid that he will do the same thing to Angel Beats! Guess what? He did although it is not as chronic as those two series I mentioned earlier. He has the knack of pairing the male lead with a female that I like the least (read: borderline hate). Having said that, I love the roller-coaster journey from total happiness to sorrow, all which is done in one episode. You'll laugh your ass off only to feel extremely touched afterward, all in a blink of an eye. Some people may not like the abrupt transition but I for one love it.

Reason number 23962 of why I like Angel Beats! is because of the brigade members. They have different personalities and most of the times, they are the reason why Angel Beats! turned out to be so great. Their antics are endless and it will keep you guessing. What next? So yeah, you'll be thoroughly entertained. This is guaranteed.

(c) hizuno

Otonashi started out as a blah character. He was so ordinary compared to the other more colorful characters in the brigade. He was completely developed till the very end. The other brigade members received the same treatment although half of them were left out (though they deserved to be developed further). The only other character that gets a lot of development is Kanade. She changed from a stoic emotionless girl to someone who hums song and has springs in her footsteps. Everyone's character development has something to do with Otonashi though so basically the other characters are evolved around him.

But let's talk about my favorite characters. Hinata started out as the gay partner for Otonashi, then Yui's arc enemy (or seemingly so) before becoming one of the most gentlemanly characters in anime history. I knew he's special the first time I laid my eyes on him. It was love at first sight. Besides Hinata, I also like the English-speaking, nonsensical TK. He is unique and needs no introduction. He is definitely one of the most memorable characters in anime fandom because of that. You can either hate or love TK. No in between. Who could forget episode 8 when he does that lookout dance. He's so random like that. As for female character, it has to be Yuri. Funny though because at first I really don't like her that much but as the story comes to an end, I found myself rooting for her. I guess I must have been attracted to her qualities and personality: she is strong and don't pull the "I'm the damsel in distress" bullshit. That's my kind of girl.

If you read my episodic review, you will notice that I don't like Kanade much. I have only one problem with her. I was fine with her when she has almost zero personality. Once Otonashi got attached to her, she changed. This was when I started to dislike Otonashi too. I guess you guys would call it character development. I called it interference. Sure it has something to do with the whole plot, the way it developed around their friendship but it bothers me to no end. This is all Maeda's doing...

So anyway, if someone asked me if I want a season 2 of Angel Beats! I would have said yes just so that I can see what Hinata, TK and Yuri are up to. After all, we didn't get the chance to send TK off =(

Music and sound. They are one of this show strongest points (how many strong points does this show have?!). They timed and chose the background music for certain moments perfectly which is a big help in setting up the emotional scenes as well as the funny parts. The OP and ED are good and the songs from Girls Dead Monster becomes talk of the anime fandom. K-ON! can learn a thing or two from both the song choice and animations during the performance. My song sang by Iwasawa imo is pretty haunting and memorable on its own.

The seiyuu too did an excellent job. I have high hopes for Otonashi when I found out that Kamiya Hiroshi does his voice. However Otonashi as a character at the end of the show ruined it for me. This doesn't mean that the seiyuus are at fault. If anything, they did a great job for invoking such reaction from me. They gave everything they have to put personality and attitude to the characters which give them life of their own. Kudos.

The art and animation however are decent. I've seen better. It was because of the arts that I initially compared it to hentai. I believe P.A Works could have done a better job. I mean, I adore the animation and the arts in True Tears so it is not like they aren't capable to do so. Besides Aniplex is one of the producers. They have plenty of resources, I am sure. Or maybe Angel Beats! is such a success because of the lack in this department. For example, I thought in some of the episodes, the quality of the animation was top notch, especially when there is blood involved.

Well, I guess it is obvious that I enjoy Angel Beats! At least up to episode 9 I did. Maybe the reason I was able to enjoy it is because I have learned to watch it at face value without questioning the facts and logics. Granted that the ending was a phailed attempt for tear fest, the other episodes easily make up for that. I managed to complete it on time, didn't I? That definitely accounted for something.

Angel Beats! is a show that you truly have to get to know to fall in love with it. If you judge it from the first episode alone, you'll be missing a lot. My initial rating for it was 7 out of 10. After 13 episodes, I changed my mind slightly.

Arts & Animation 8/10
Sound 10/10
Story 8/10
Characters 9/10
Enjoyment 9/10
Overall 8/10

For a longer additional read, you can check out Guy's review. He dedicated a paragraph for TK :P

Also of Guignol's post about the ending of the episode. He speaks my language.

Episode 276 of Bleach is boring. They finally revealed Soi Fon's bankai and god it phails...

Thursday, June 24

We have a new character in the latest episode of Bleach. Who would have thought that, huh? I definitely approved of Tensa.

I want to catch up to Angel Beats but this crappy laptop rejected the torrent. I have to watch it on family pc and who knows when will that be. Crap.

So time to catch up on Working!! in episode 11 Yamada thinks Taneshima is in love with Takanashi. She's confused because she knows that Inami likes Takanashi as well. She doesn't want to choose between the two of them. Actually, I'm worried too. I am all for Takanashi/Inami pairing. In truth though, Taneshima is obsessed with the crossdressing Takanashi. But that's only the beginning. We also get to see how did Satou fall in love with Yachiyo, Yamada and Inami having a sleep over at Takanashi's and last but not least, Yamada told Kozue that Inami likes Takanashi. That's how they end up in the room alone. Ngehehe...

Who the hell is she?!

Friday, June 25

Working!! episode 12: Taneshima was being all emo and shit when she found out about Takanashi's sisters. Somehow the episode ends up with Takanashi going on a date with Inami. needless to say, I approved of this greatly. Looks like they are going to end this series with the said date. I feel sad

K-ON!! episode 9: Yui decided to participate in talent contest and Azu-nyan kinda got dragged into it as well. *yawn*

Saturday, June 26

Watching the two final episodes of Angel Beats! Yuri finally caught the one responsible for creating the shadow. He too is under order from the guy who everyone referred to as God, the one who created the Angel Player program. He created it because he doesn't want to be an NPC while he has love in his heart. That's fucked up man. For a minute I thought Yuri was tempted to become the god of this after life world. Thank god that she didn't. I was even more worried that she might disappear. Apparently she did not although she has achieved her goal.

In the final episode, looks like everyone have disappeared including TK. The only one left were Otonashi, Hinata, Naoi, Kanade and Yurippe. Kanade prepared a graduation for them all which mean that this is the only series where everyone will disappear but of course Otonashi has other ideas. When he has sent Yuri, Hinata and Naoi off, he confessed his love for Kanade (WTF?!) and suggest that the two of them should stay in this world and play God. Guess what? No wonder Otonashi has such strong attachment to Kanade. She has his heart, literally. So she ended up in this world because she couldn't say thank you to him. Once she did, she disappear and yeah, I feel a tiny bit sorry for Otonashi. But then again, he was lucky. He got to meet Kanade in his next life. Urgh, life is so unfair.

Diary of a tard - Week 3, June 2010

Sunday, June 13

Gonna start with Naruto. Is behind the chapters for two weeks. My son wouldn't let me hear the end of it. To think that not few months ago I was such a manga whore >_>

Gargantuan Sharengan? lol sounds like Final Getsuga Tenshou to me. Looks like both manga have chosen more or less the same path. Naruto is having problem taking the nine-tail chakra. The fox's hatred is greater than what he had anticipated. Just as he was about to lost his chakra, guess who he met? His mother. LOL yeah, I think we are going to meet his whole other family when he's in his inner world and learn their story while we are at it. It was sweet but it distracts me from the real battle. I'm sorry Naruto but make the meeting a little short, will you?

*facepalm*

Next up is D.Gray Man chapter 195: Allen trying to stop Alma from infecting everyone else with the akuma virus. Easier said than done though and I actually am glad that some of the order's people were dead, burnt to crisp by his virus. I mean, he's the product of their invention after all. But of course the good guy (mainly Yuu and Allen) will not let Alma do whatever he wants. So once again, a face off between Alma and Yuu. Not only that, Tokusa (who shielded Allen and in returned became an akuma) and other apostles were affected by Alma's karma. Seeing them transformed to a fucking akuma damn break my heart. Also Allen lost his control over his power Crown and the Earl tempted him with the possibility of stopping all the cruelty if he (the 14th) joins them.

hot damn!

Denev and Helen went to great length trying to save Clare's ass from Priscilla and the Giant in chapter 104 of Claymore. Their effort was wasted though because Priscilla is unstoppable. She's like Aizen. And before they realized it, Clare was taken and is being eaten alive. Although I'm sure we ain't seeing the last of Clare yet.

Wednesday, June 16

The fight at fake!Karakura continues with Soi Fon and Barragan in episode 275 of Bleach.

Episode 9 of Angel Beats! was nothing spectacular except for TK doing the lookout dance. That was awesome. Apparently Otonashi didn’t during the train crash accident. He died out of hunger, and internal damages, as were the other survivors. Okay now I understand him a little better. The saddest thing was he died a few second before the rescue team arrived. LOL Okay, I said sad. Sorry. Ah fuck now he wanted everyone to disappear? Fuck this (even though I know it’s for their own good)!

Episode 10: Otonashi has become the puppet master of this show since he asked Kanade to act like she was in the last episode. Look, I already knew the biggest point of this episode (Yui died, didn’t she?) thanks to all the spoilers from twitter and my blog roll. I’m still surprised at how it went down though. A love confession out of nowhere? That was unexpected. Ah, this only makes my love for Hinata deeper.

I LOL'd

Thank goodness the episode took a different turn in episode 11. Shadows appeared and swallowed the victim’s soul. Next thing you know the victim will be just another NPC. Too bad Takamatsu was one of the victims though. One thing good from this episode is that Yurippe knows what’s going on with Otonashi and his plan. So Yurippe let the Battlefront members choose whatever path they want before she left them. WHAT?! I’m sure she assumed everyone will follow the Otonashi’s path but she clearly has some scores that she needs to settle with God so she cannot disappear until she done with that one. This turned out to be quite a sad episode.

Thursday, June 17

Nothing big happening in chapter 408 of Bleach. Just a huge chunk of explanations >_>

Naruto chapter 499: Guess what, the battle between Naruto and the nine tail fox has already reached it climax just because he met his mother in his inner "inner" world. And then turned out that his mother WAS the nine tail fox? Or at least the reason the nine tail fox exist? OMG *yawn*

Well, I was about to go to work when I read THIS POST. Seriously though, how can I say no? Dammit. So here I am, who will be an hour late for work, because I decided to watch episode 23 of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Thank goodness my boss doesn't read my blog that often. Well, in this episode Rossiu was suicidal and would have been dead if Simon didn't stop him. Now he'll be in charge of the earth while Simon save the universe! >_>

Episode 24 was a tear jerker. Ailac, Kidd, Makken, the twin... they were all died while Simon trying to transform into a bigger drill. They were trapped and now the big ship was sinking with Simon in it.

Boota has spiral power too? *facepalm*. Episode 25 saw them destroying the central of the anti-spiral universe and thus regain their confidence. Kittan was super awesome in this episode. But wait, did he just fucking die on me? OH FUCK NOT AGAIN! WHY ALL THE CHARACTER THAT I CARE ABOUT HAVE TO DIE?! *wails*

Friday, June 18

Gonna make good of my promise. I'm gonna finish TTGL today even though Kamina and Kittan were no more. I feel sorry for Yoko. Both of her men died. Anyway in episode 26 they were all trapped in alternate universe and if it wasn't for Kamina they'll stay like that and would have lost the war.

Last episode of TTGL. I'm dreading this the most. I don't like Nia ever since I first laid my eyes on her. I dunno why, it just is. The whole shit of rescuing her is one of the reason why it took me this long (and persuasion from Glo) to finish this series. I kept saying WTF as I watched this episode and the ending... OMGWTFFIZZLERAGE. It was so cheesy and I regret completing this T__T

Saturday, June 19

Ultimo chapter 15: Jealous became a spider when he combined with Iruma who was determined to kill Yamato. Thank goodness that Murayama Musashi and Wise stopped him otherwise Yamato is so dead right now. Musashi still going on about destroying Ultimo though so yeah, I don't mind that at all actually. Ultimo is getting on my nerves. But he's on the good side so he'll give Yamato a chance to understand everything. He let Yamato took Ultimo back to the Heian era so that he'll learn the truth and maybe he'll may just get what is going on.

Angel Beats! episode 8

Whoa they just get on with the story, don't they? The other Tenshi, the one who attacked Yurippe in the last episode looks like she has a little bit more of a personality compared to the Tachibana that made promises with Otonashi.

Tachibana is the last person I thought that would even it out with the new Tenshi though, but yeah, she came forth to help them out and got injured doing so.

And I'm getting sick of Otonashi defending Tachibana. Yurippe might be right. Kanade used her harmonics power to create a clone, when she fought the big fish. She does not mean it to be harmful to anyone but since it has always been her responsibility to take care of the disciplinary issue at the school, I think her clone kinda took up the responsibility herself hence why she was more aggressive. That explains the personality as well.

Yurippe has a plan to erase the clone though. (Well, she always seems like she has a plan ready right?) However she needs everyone else to pretend to be a good student for a day as she hacked Tachibana's computer and made a delay absorb command.

Unfortunately Tachibana was kidnapped and was taken to the Guild. Yurippe decided that they don't need diversion. They are going to save the original Angel out in the open which mean they are going to face the clone's wrath.

all those training was a waste...

It appeared that Yurippe's plan has backfired. She miscalculated. The clone obviously has the power just like Tachibana so what stopping them from doing the harmonics? So the clone number multiplied and obviously the Battlefront Brigade members will done in one by one again. Another massacre since they basically trapped.

I know sacrificing oneself is serious business and all that but it is hard to keep a straight face whenever they sacrificed themselves so the others can move forward. Just like Hinata said, it was all very shounen-like ending XD

And yes, it bothers me that Otonashi does not need to sacrifice himself. I think he should be the first one dead. Eh wait... when did I change my mind so drastically over Otonashi? I used to like him T__T

Yurippe got to fight the last of the clone while Otonashi saves the real Kanade. How heroic. NOT!

Heh, didn't I said Yuri's plan kinda backfired? Hah, I was right! Take that Otonashi!

I'm beginning not to like where this anime is going. Otonashi kinda ruined it for me. It's so small in percentage but since I got emotional ONLY when I watch anime or read manga, it is a big deal.

*sigh*

Why can't he just get it on with Naoi since he is DEFINITELY gay for Otonashi.

Angel Beats! episode 7

Glad to report that none of the members from the Battlefront Brigade died from last week's massacre, or wounded for that matter. I'm not even try to think of a logic excuse for that. I have told myself to watch this anime and take every thing at face value.

As predicted Naoi didn't disappear. He is now one of Battlefront's members. He still has his hypnotism power too and is only fond of Otonashi. Explained a lot I guess.

In this episode, the focus is on Otonashi's memories. With Naoi around it would be possible to recover them even though Otonashi himself is not sure if he wants to remember.

Oh no wonder he did not remember anything. He lived a life of a loser, an anti-social. Sure he cares about his sick sister but that was pretty much the highlight of his life. That didn't last long either. But the lost of his sister made him realized he wanted to do something with his life: to become a medic and help people. Jeebus how noble. Of course that didn't happen because he was involved in a train accident and is now officially dead.

emo Otonashi is pathetic

But awwwwwww nonetheless

I have a bad feeling about all of this. Otonashi seems too normal after he regained his memory I could not help but think he has a plan of his own. Also I do not approved since the beginning when he started to get all chummy with Tachibana. Tch.

Like always, Angel Beats! throws us off with twisted story line comes the second half of the episode. This time they go river fishing and obviously the mood got lighter considerably although they have to face the river monster. Looks like they will be eating lots of fish tonight ^^

Before the end of episode, they throw us with another curve ball. Apparently the Angel is not a singular entity and one of them has attack Yurippe!

Gah I like this series so much ^_^

08 May 2010

Angel Beats! episode 6

With the Angel out of the way, the brigade members just do whatever the hell they want in class. Eating snacks, play mahjong, doing push-up, going to the toilet every damn minute, balancing all sorts of things... normal stuff like that XD

how manly ^^

Naoi (the new student council president) obviously will not let this to continue. He's not an NPC but a regular human just like them. He has wage a war against the brigade using NPC as hostage and shield.

So Yurippe was right about this. Since the brigade members were not allowed to harm the NPC, they are falling one after the other.

Naoi has put Tachibana and Otonashi in a secluded cell while the war take place. Now their only hope to stop the massacre is to get Tachibana out of the cell and help them out. As they figure out how to escape, we learned why Tachibana seems so lonely and sad. Curse Otonashi again for making me sympathizes for her!

So yeah, this series throws another curve ball at me. #1: the animation has definitely cranked up a notch. #2: FUCKING BLOOD EVERYWHERE!!!

It's fucking cruel, what happened to these guys. I mean all of the brigade members were cover in blood. Some of them even died! Even Yurippe was terribly injured.

Damn Naoi for acting like a fucking God (read: Aizen) and fucking hypnotized everyone. He almost made Yuri disappeared. Thankfully Otonashi weren't some dumb moron and stopped that from happening.

I was hoping for a rape scene ^^"

Like all the great villains, even Naoi has a painful/terrible past that he tried to compensate by being an asshole. And then we have a gay moment (second gay moment in fact. The first when Otonashi ran to Hinata when he saw him injured).

With that I guess it's the end of Naoi's day to be an evil high school student. So it was Otonashi who saves the day, not Tachibana like I originally though. Good twist.

This was an intense episode. It kept me on the edge from start to finish. Man, I am enjoying this more than I enjoyed Arakawa (putting the two sports anime aside).

Angel Beats! episode 5

The brigade's mission this time around is to make the tenshi (Angel) scores the lowest mark in the exam. They'll submit a fake answer paper with her name on it. Problem is, they don't know her name. LOL! Otonashi gets to find out her name though: Tachibana Kanade.

For first period, it is up to Hinata to create a diversion. I practically roll off my chair when they did a replay of him making a hole on the fucking ceiling!

Next up for creating a diversion is Takamatsu. What he did is totally unexpected. Damn LMAO! I freaking love this show!

However funny though it did not work so he get to be an astronaut just like Hinata too. Yes, in slow motion and he doesn't wear his shirt back on for the rest of the episode ^^

After that it is Oyama's turn. He needs to confess to Angel. Sounds easy enough right? Wrong because Oyama is such a drama king to begin with. He still does it though and guess what? Tachibana accepted his confession! LOL

Since that plan phailed, I thought surely Oyama will be sent flying again but I was proven wrong when we get another slow-motion replay of Hinata punching the ceiling with his head with his hand still doing the facepalming! LMAO

Needless to say, the operation was a success. Tachibana was fired from being the Student Council President and obviously Otonashi feels bad for her. Yurippe isn't going to start to have mercy for her though because she quickly launched Operation Tornado to test whether Tachibana is still in power as an Angel.

Yui and the GirlDemo act as diversion. Yui not such a bad entertainer after all. I'm impressed.

Angel shows up but instead of stopping the band, she joins the crowd. So obviously she was just doing her duty as a Student Council President back then. She's just human who has developed the Guard Skill to counter the weapons by the Brigade.

Damn Otonashi for making me sympathize for Tachibana. And then the Brigade was taken over to the detention room by the current Student Council President. Holy fuck, plot twist!

This is a good episode. The first half was all laugh and shit and before you're ready, they throw you a curve ball and be all serious like someone cranked a C4 up their ass. I approved.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Takeyama still wants to be called Christ. Heh, I like the fact that they are being consistent with the joke.

Angel Beats! is definitely becoming one of the most enjoyable anime I've seen.
