Aku no Hana

It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.

A Year Older: Again

It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.

Goodbye 2012 and Hallo 2013

So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.

Light Writings: Love II

I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.

Light Writings: Crush II

Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.

Diary of a tard: Week 4, May 2012

Monday, May 21

Episode 6 of Tsuritama: They went fishing as usual and was introduced to Akemi, a spot where the locals are forbidden to fish because a boat went missing years ago. To celebrate Keito coming home from the hospital, Yuki decided to catch her a tuna. So they went out to see but to no avail. Later on, they went on Akira's boat to the Akemi where Yuki managed to catch a tuna. However, strange shit was happening. Haru showed his true self for the first time and I am no longer convinced that he was the good guy here. It seems like Akira was the one protecting and shit. I still have no idea what was happening but it sure makes me eager to see the next episode. I noticed that Akira has grown closer to these kids and somewhat becomes friends with them. He also knows as much about fishing as Natsuki. It is a good change for Akira, I must say. Also, with less than half of the episodes to go, I am surprised that I don't have a BL OTP for this show yet. That's how engrossing the story is, I guess.

I don't mind having him all to my self ♥

Hiiro no Kakera episode 2: The villains are on the move. One of them even posed as the English teacher. All the while, the Onikirimaru seal is getting weaker and the God is getting even more restless. According to Suguru, the seal is protected by two other seals: the blood of Tamayura and the five seals known as the Artifacts. The villains disrupt one of the Artifact seal so they decided to check them out, with Tamaki insisting on going too. Obviously it was a trap set by the villain in order to test the power of Shugogo House. Urgh...

Panda and Penguin both dreamed of opening a their own cafe in episode 2 of Shirokuma Cafe. Actually the episode pretty much centered around the animal wanting to own their own cafe, and obviously they will only included foods that they wanted to eat. It's like watching endless eight only with different characters. The second half of the episode centered on Penguin who got drunk at a cherry viewing party. I lol'd at his antics and I think Penguin is the cutest of them all.

It is time for the final interview for the second exam in episode 4 of Uchuu Kyoudai. As usual Mutta fucked up. Of all the things that he could say, he said that he made more lathers than the others when he shampooed his hair. LMAO just what were you thinking, Mutta? Anyhoo, he managed to get Seirika's email and phone number thanks to Kenji. On top of that he is going to America, all expenses paid by NASA, thanks to Hibito of course.

this show needs more fanarts

Episode 2 of Gakkatsu: If I thought the first episode was meh, then this episode has redeemed this series. This time the classroom discussed about the stall in boys toilet that has never been used. Again, I didn't know whether this fact is true or not but if it is, then this show has once again taught me something new. I managed to laugh thanks to that guy who was holding it in XD

Daily Lives of High School Boys episode 6: Heh, I love it when their discussion ends because they got distracted by something so trivial, like a bouncing ball. But that is just how boys are. They also created unnecessary trouble like when Hidenori asked Yoshitake's sister why was she always home during Christmas, which of course ended up with them getting chased by the said sister. I love the fact that they will go the distance for their friend's little sister, like when Tadakuni's sister ask for help and bunch of them showed up. However, Tadakuni has no idea about the incident which makes it hilarious imo. Same goes with how they tried to be considerate with Ringo. Ah, I love these boys.

It is Tsukahara Bokuden turns to be in the spotlight in episode 5 of Sengoku Collection. She teaches kendo but was misunderstood for spreading the feel/need to kill as samurai due to an interviewer (Morse) edited out her interview to make her looks like a bad person. So she found ways to set things right again. It was an okay episode with few other samurai making an appearance, like Ittousai but there is no Nobunaga looking for Secret Treasures though.

It has been a while since I last watched Gintama. That can't be right. So lets make it right then! Gintama episode 155: The first segment is pretty much a focus on how Madao became Madao. He was retelling his story after he and Gin-san lost all their money gambling (horse racing). It made him realized that he was in a DORK spiral thanks to Gintoki and his two subordinates though Gin-san quickly dismissed it. Just when he thought he made it, he was being pulled back. It looks like there is no way for Madao to escape from the DORK Spiral. But, why do I feel so bad for Gin-san who lost the winning ticket? Heh

ALL THE WAY THROUGH!

Sengoku Collection episode 6: Another boring episode where they introduce the scientist. She loves the future and so she make a time traveling machine. She used it to save the dream of a boy though. Fuck this show was boring. There's no Nobunaga either.

Chiho was visited by alien in episode 3 of Gakkatsu. WE ARE NOT ALONE. So yeah, she discussed this during the homeroom class. Everyone agrees that the alien wants to conquer the world except for the transfer student, Mr. Gray, who is obviously an alien himself. But all well will ends well. Thanks to Chiho, the fickle minded class changed their mind and want to be friends with the aliens instead.

Shinji Inukai is back in episode 3 of Hiiro no Kakera. The reason he left the village is to train but Takuma wasn't so pleased about his return. Inukai has the power of words which gives him the ability to control his surroundings. Now that all five guardians are back, things are getting serious as Monado's underlings were sent to break one of the seal. Too bad Tamaki interfered though because honestly I do want to see them fight and use their powers.

My week won't be completed without yaoi. I picked up Mimurake no Musuko, the latest addition from my numero uno yaoi source. The story is about Toshi who is in love with Yumi, his friend since forever but Toshi is having sex with Sumi, Yumi's brother. Sumi ran away from his responsibility to be the heir of his family business so the burden fell on Yumi who by the way is bipolar. His dream is to kill people and buried them in the mountain (heh now you see why I like this guy?). I can't wait to see what Yumi will do when he found out that Toshi and his brother are having sex behind his back.

Diary of a tard: Week 1, May 2012

Wednesday, May 2

The festival resumes in chapter 42 of Hyakko. New characters grace us with their present as they come to the school for the festival. The most important new character for this chapter is certainly Suzume's twin brother, Tsubame who is one mischievous boy. He became the tourist guide for the other new characters who are basically family members of the existing characters. They got distracted a lot by food and then come across Kitsune and Ayumi holding hand as they heading to somewhere. My heart literally jumps at this. Being a busybody, Tsubame and his new friends stalk them both. When they go their separate way, Tsubume doesn't waste any time to confront Kitsune and ask him what is going on. Kyaaaaah~ oh but wait a fucking minute. You know what? Hyakko pulled a fast one on us. Apparently Tsubame is dead. It was just Suzume playing dress up as her twin brother, thanks to Kitsune's suggestion when they were kids. Suzume apparently grows up with a dual identity. I'm not sure whether it's healthy or not but... if it's Kitsune's idea... (trololol). So this chapter pretty much focus on Suzume. We only get to see Torako at the end (apparently with Shishimaru by her side both dressed up in vampire theme outfit. wOOt~). Good chapter indeed.

I spotted Keima in between the pages LOL as well as that hat girl from Kujibiki Unbalance

Episode 2 of Sakamichi no Apollon: Nishimi lets Kawabuchi comments on his music gets to him so he secretly played on the piano whenever his aunt is out of the house. Obviously he wants to impress Ritsu and feels like Kawabuchi is in the way of that. He couldn't be so wrong. Anyhoo, he was cornered by a bunch of bullies on his way back from school one day. Lucky for him Ritsu saw what was happening and reported to Kawabuchi who of course rescued him. Nishimi tried to salvage his male ego but oh boy he was clumsy and only became the joke of the day. I lol'd and loved him because of it. When they went back to Ritsu's shop, Brother Jun was already waiting and they (Kawabuchi and Ritsu's dad) didn't waste time to do a live session. Nishimi was dragged to play the piano and boy he enjoyed it a lot, especially when he thought he could have a date with Ritsu. Unfortunately it didn't go according to plan as Kawabuchi tagged along. Instead of the library they went to the beach instead. I must admit. I sorta envy the relationship between Kawabuchi and Ritsu. I had that once but then he just have to get married at an early age. This is where the show confirms Nishimi's feeling for Ritsu and how Kawabuchi met the love of his life. My BL heart breaks a little...

if you know what I mean

Daily Lives of High School Boys episode 5: (1) we all have done this: making up script as we look at other people interacting. Fun times indeed (2) Motoharu is bullied by his older sister's friends. No one can save him. (3) I couldn't help but LOL'd when Ringo was saved by the "hero" from them three unlucky kids, who think that she was being harassed. Instead of worrying about their well being, they continue to pretend as the bad guy in order not to embarrassed the hero. How noble. (4) Yoshitake and Hidenori met an old friend with a girl who looked mighty displeased. Turned out she was his sister who has lost her contact lenses LOL (5) Hidenori reminiscing his childhood hero who saved him from the bullies. Imagine his face when he found out that it was Yoshitake. (6) The literature girl yet again appeared at the river bank and Hidenori was pretty much crying inwardly for help. Oh man, I lol'd pretty hard for this one. Sugita just fits perfectly and he really did make the scene comes alive.

Daily Lives of High School Boys: Episode 4

You don't have to tell me how behind I am with this show. I KNOW. But since I love taking notes of what I watched and since I really enjoyed this show, I don't feel it's enough to spazz about it in my diary. So here I am, 3 weeks behind, writing an episodic review of this show for my own satisfaction.

Gag #1: High School Boys and Eavesdropping

Tadekuni saw Hidenori and Yoshitake and wonders what these two talked about when he's not around. So he eavesdropping on them and as expected, they talked about totally random things from porn to politics to shit. Basically stuff that was never brought up when Tadekuni is around. Obviously he feels down about it and thought that he needed to do something so he came up to them and guess what? They are NOT Hidenori and Yoshitake. LOL Tadekuni was trolled!

Gag #2: High School Boys and the Cultural Festival

Some girls decided to show who's the boss by entering the all boys' school. Actually the president of the student council for the girls school has inferiority complex. The guys acted like real gentlemen and compared to the girls at her school, she's been completely obliterate. The president of the boy's school then told the rest of the student council that both of their schools will corporate for the cultural festival. He intentionally saying hi to the wrong person just to pissed the girl president off XD

Gag #3: High School Boys and the Cultural Festival 2

The competition continued. The girl still thinks she can won against the boy president. What she doesn't realized is this: she has already lost the war. She went inside the jumbo haunted house and though she tried not to scream, one look at the boy president's male counterpart, she lost it. I got to be honest. I was envious of her at that moment.

Gag #4: High School Boys and the Cultural Festival 3

Yoshitake is handling the reception with a girl who acted like she knows everything about boys. I gotta hand it to Yoshitake for lasted that long. I would have put a socks in her to shut her up. But he's good. He called that tanned guy to replace him instead.

Yoshitake handling the situation like a sir

Gag #5: High School Boys and the Cultural Festival 4

The stupid competition between East and North high school continues even though the boys don't really give a shit. LOL well that's not true. The president has no problem picking a fight with a girl. He was just being nice I guess since he knew he won't hit girls anyway. This however did not stop Ringo from beating the shit out of him.

Gag #6: High School Boys and Counseling

Tadekuni seeks council from Nago regarding the distance he felt with Hidenori and Yoshitake. She tells him to be normal and not to put on airs. If indeed they are friends, he needs no invitation. So on the way home Tadekuni saw them and approached them as advised by Nago. However turns out that it were the same guys that Tadekuni mistook earlier LOL.

Extra: High School Girls are Funky - Humor

I'm a girl but I love and indeed laugh my ass off when Karasawa throws all those snacks on the ground and the annoying girls grovelling at it. I completely understand where he's coming from XD

Daily Lives of High School Boys: Episode 3

Pretty much have an idea or two how episode 3 is going to be thanks to the spoilers I saw on twitter. Nonetheless, that does not dampened my excitement to watch this show. Daily Lives of High School Boys definitely that show that I look forward to the most every week for the Winter season.

Tadakuni is so moe, it's a sin... hhhhhhhhhhhnnnngghh
(c) pixiv id 444993

Heh, if in the past two episodes you can't tell that this show is directed by the same director of Gintama, this episode has that sure tell tale sign. We got the protagonists talking in the background while they only show clouds lazily moving across the sky. It's an improvement though. In Gintama, all you get is the static picture of Gin's place. This time, Tadakuni, Yoshitake and Hidenori were discussing about how usually anime about school starts in Spring and not Winter. This shows that they acknowledge that they are in anime and for some reason, I always found that funny if not amusing. They even correcting us about the genre. They preferred to be known as slice of life anime instead of a school anime.

Gag #1: High School Boys and Summer Plans

The guys are having a meeting about summer plans at Tadakuni's house. Hidenori chaired the meeting at first but then they wanted Karasawa to take over, who did come in school uniform as per requested. It's fun to see how they look up to Karasawa for no apparent reason. Even when they asked Tadakuni's imouto who she would date, she picked Karasawa as well. Must be the cap. She quickly changed her mind though when Karasawa jokingly said something sexist LOL

Gag #2: High School Boys and the Beach House

So their first summer plan is going to the beach. Tadakuni made a mistake of wearing the school trunk. Heh so moe. The guys were busy trying to get the girls but Hidenori was busy looking at the noodles. He was so tempted he got a nose bleed and consequently another smack from the guys when he concluded that girls like their noodle just like they like their man: HOT. Hehehe, I have to say that he has a keen eye for observation because he is totally right about it.

he's a champion

Gag #3: High School Boys and Hot Spring Balls

The boys went to the onsen next. They played some ping pong with penalty. Whoever failed to answer the question and lose will have to punch the Student Council President. I LOL'd at how the boys readily agreed to that suggestion. That brought back a lot of memories tbh :D

Tadakuni lost in all three rounds XD

I lol'd... hard

Gag #4: High School Boys and the Radio DJ

Hidenori pretended to be radio DJ that's talking FS. I bet FS stands for Fucking Shit. He dragged Yoshitake into it. Yoshitake played along though he took it all very seriously. It was a bit awkward at time because you keep expecting Yoshitake to crack some stupid jokes but he didn't. Tadakuni didn't even say a word during the whole stint except a 'hhhmmph!' at the end of it.

Gag #5: High School Boys and Summer Memories

They decided to have fun till end of their summer vacation. The production team decided to play Capsule in the background while showing the boys having fun at festival, playing video games, etc.

Gag #6: High School Boys and the Train to School

Another Hidenori monologue. He boarded the train with the same girl every day going to school. He got interested in her because of her hairy mole at the nape of her neck. He wanted to tell the girl about it but didn't have the courage to do so. He even seek advice from his senpai who was against his idea as well. He somehow came to a conclusion that the hair mole was proof of her loneliness, that she has no friends who could tell her about it. That was how he found the courage to tell her and surprisingly the girl just thanked him and laughed it off.

And thus end the quest of a stupid boy who worried about stupid shit.

Oh, and I love the ending stint of High School Girls are Funky XD

First Impression: Daily Lives of High School Boys

Episodes: 12
Producers: Sunrise, Square Enix
Genres: Comedy, School, Slice of Life, Shounen

Besides Another, Daily Lives of High School Boys or Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou is the other Winter season anime that I have high hopes for for the simple reason that Tomokazu Sugita is cast for one of it's main protagonist. I am a big fan of him and he is the reason why I become a seiyuu fag so naturally I will watch anything that has him as one of the casts, no matter how small his role may be. The only recent show that he did/do is SKET Dance which he played the big role of making it such an enjoyable show for me.

So needless to say, I am super stoke to check this show out. I have a feeling that Sugita will be just as awesome as he usually is sprouting random shits that only his character can think of. Aight boys, without further ado, lets dig in =3

(c) Asuda

Less than a minute in, I knew I was right about this show; boys who ran holding bowl of soup on the way to school and met with robots flying down from the sky attacking their town. If that is not random, I don't know what is. Why? Because this is not a mecha anime. This show is categorized in slice of life genre and in our real life, there are no giants robot invading the earth. And random is always good in my book. Plus this show is directed by the same guy who did Gintama. If you didn't know how I feel about Gintama yet, you are retarded.

Danshiko (that's what this show is called in anime fandom) is a tale of three boys; Tadakuni, Hidenori Tabata and Yoshitake Tanaka who are friends and attending the same highschool. Just like Kimi to Boku, they have the serious boy and the other two who will do anything in their ability to annoy the living hell of the serious boy, in this case Tadakuni. But it wasn't always about that. We are going to witness their daily lives routines and the people they acquainted and interact with as well which added to the fun.

There are several segments in one episode that cover different topic which tickled my funny bones. I personally laughed my ass off during the skirt segments. I knew boys who actually did that, especially when there was a gullible boy around. Tadakuni fits that description to a T. These segments are even funnier because almost each of it was triggered or initiated by Hidenori. The segment of Hidenori and literary girl at the river bank was awesome too. It's quite a turning point for me personally to be honest because I realized that I found a replacement for Kyon and he even wears a megane. A crossover of Kyon and Gintoki is just the perfect man, if you know what I mean.

Some people might questioned that this is not what boys normally do in their daily lives, but I assured you that for someone who grew up around boys and is still surrounded by boys in daily life, boys really did do all these meaningless stuffs and talk about useless stuffs. That is what make them so fun to be around. Girls on the other hands are boring. They pretty much talked about cute boys and the latest fashion and being bitchy about everything. What's fun about that? For example when Yoshitake voiced his concern about the hair on his nipples, isn't that real as fuck?

what I said

Needless to say, I will probably force this one down everyone's throat. So beware. I'm maximizing my virgin power for the sake of Danshiko!

art & animation 6/10
story 10/10
characters 10/10
sound 10/10
enjoyment 10/10
overall 9.2/10

p/s: I am glad that I didn't check out the pre-air show for Danshiko ^_^
