Aku no Hana

It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.

A Year Older: Again

It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.

Goodbye 2012 and Hallo 2013

So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.

Light Writings: Love II

I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.

Light Writings: Crush II

Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.

First Impression: Love Live! School Idol Project

Those who are close to me know that this is definitely not  my kind of anime but guess what, I ended up liking it.

Yeah, I surprised myself sometimes too.

Maybe because none of the girls annoyed me yet.

(c) Yui (Rogusouku)

Anyhoo, it is pretty much about girls  trying to save their school from closing down by getting together and created an idol group so that their school become popular, get more enrollment and BAM!

I dunno what that BAM! is supposed to be.

But yeah, I'm watching this whenever I feel like killing ponies.

I read a lot about this show on twitter but I somewhat managed to filter them out and so I an sitting here without any expectation whatsoever. Lets hope it can blow my socks away which is going to be a feat since I am not really a fan of mecha to begin with.

(c) pixiv id 3119841

Well, the good thing about this show is, I can not give a fuck about the mecha because the villains, those damn bad sadistic boys, are what makes this show interesting for me. Haruto? Valvrave? I don't give a shit.

I like the fact that L-Elf is one cold blooded murderer. He and his boys are the reason I'm going to continue watching this show.

By the way, I do not appreciate the fact that Haruto turned into Sparkling Edward at the end. What the fuck is that bullshit?

First Impression: Binbougami ga!

I'm checking all these stupid shows so that you don't have to. Aren't I nice or aren't I nice? But in all honesty, I don't think this show is going to be bad if they managed to get the comedy to be actually funny for a change. So I'm crossing my finger and hope that it will manage to make me laugh at least once.

(c) Petarou
Binbougami ga! is about Mimoji who is the God of Misfortune and Ichiko, the girl with all the fortune in the world. Ichiko is causing inbalance to the world so Mimoji was sent to set things right. It was fun in the beginning, where Mimoji just said whatever the fuck she wanted but then when Ichiko was introduced, I lost any interest with the show. She was annoying.

As I thought, I won't be watching this show either. It is just too stupid for me and the joke ain't funny either. Most of them were overused. I stuck to the end of the episode waiting for Hiro's character to made an appearance but he never did which mean I just have to watch the second episode. Damn it.

I guess I'll watch until episode 2 and see how it goes. Jeebus I'm such a seiyuu fag.

edit: I've watched the 2nd episode and still no Hiro. I feel cheated. Fuck this I'm dropping this shit.

First Impression: Accel World

I have seen some of the fanarts for this show, and what others have to say about it on Twitter but still, it doesn’t prepare me at all for what the show really is. I was totally lost the first five minutes checking it out.

We have this fat and short male protagonist, Haru, who is naturally weak and get bullied by everyone, and often escaped from reality by joining the virtual world, of which he transformed into a pig. Orz. One day he got a break when the most popular girl offered an application (Brain Burts) which totally shattered his concept of reality. It brings him to Accelerated World, or Accel World in short.

(c) Ekakibito
He is the kind of protagonist that pissed me off. He knows he is weak and cowardly so why the fuck doesn’t he want to change that and actually pushed people who wanted to help him away? I would have smacked people like him in real life so hard just for the fun of it. I mean, they love it, don’t they? That’s why they don’t want to change.

Oh, did I mention that the technology is so advanced they don’t need computer or keyboard or modem. All they need is what seemed to be an electronic neck collar that allows you to connect and use the computer using your eyesight vision. Pretty nifty, right?

Black Swallowtailed Butterfly warned Haru not to on the Global Linker at all after school but he forgot. What happened? He got an upgrade (he’s no longer a pig, but a kin of Green Power Ranger) and an opponent to boot.

I am more interesting to see what happened with his friends that he doubted though and probably the only reason why I would continue watching it.

The story is somewhat unique and the art and animation weren’t bad at all. I can’t say that I enjoyed it though. It is more like the story itself force me to sit through the entire episode because it got me curious. I personally think that’s a good thing. At least it piqued my interest.

First Impression: Natsuiro Kiseki

I suspected that there is no in between for this show. It’s either I like it or I don’t. Judging from the synopsis from the preview, there are higher percentages that I would end up raging about it. However, I told myself not to jump into conclusion just by those few words of introduction. So far I ended up liking Sengoku Collection when I first thought that it would be shit. There’s the chance that this show might end up just like that, isn’t it?

(c) Hidari
The dorama started right of the bat with Natsumi and Saki fought while Rin and Yuka tried to reconcile them. These are four good friends who have been together since their fourth grade. They always wished upon a big rock at the temple and in attempt to make Natsumi and Saki friends again before Saki moves to Tokyo, Yuka and Rin gathered them around the big rock where they fought some more. Accidentally Rin wished that she could fly and apparently this wish was echoed by her friends. Before they knew it, they were indeed flying in the sky. It was kinda cool.

At first I thought that this show is just another idol anime but glad that it wasn’t just that. I like the fact that they put in some dorama and conflicts in the plot. It gave the show some depth that I found lacking in other idol anime, and AKB0048 was the latest example of that.

Oh wait, my mistake. This show is put under the slice of life tag >_>
The art and animation are decent with nothing actually stands out. The character designs could have been more creative. The girls each have different personality though they are kinda the typical archetype characters; Natsumi the leader, Saki the logical, Rin the quiet girl and Yuka the energetic. I personally like Yuka the best simply because of the positive energy she brings.

Since this show can be considered as an idol anime, naturally the songs have that idol feel to it. They are pretty good to be honest. I don’t find them obnoxious at all, like I did with AKB0048 songs. Urgh *shudders*

I am glad that I gave this show a chance. Turned out I did like it. I didn’t rage at all. Not even for a moment. It’s quite an accomplishment I must say.

First Impression: Daily Lives of High School Boys

Episodes: 12
Producers: Sunrise, Square Enix
Genres: Comedy, School, Slice of Life, Shounen

Besides Another, Daily Lives of High School Boys or Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou is the other Winter season anime that I have high hopes for for the simple reason that Tomokazu Sugita is cast for one of it's main protagonist. I am a big fan of him and he is the reason why I become a seiyuu fag so naturally I will watch anything that has him as one of the casts, no matter how small his role may be. The only recent show that he did/do is SKET Dance which he played the big role of making it such an enjoyable show for me.

So needless to say, I am super stoke to check this show out. I have a feeling that Sugita will be just as awesome as he usually is sprouting random shits that only his character can think of. Aight boys, without further ado, lets dig in =3

(c) Asuda

Less than a minute in, I knew I was right about this show; boys who ran holding bowl of soup on the way to school and met with robots flying down from the sky attacking their town. If that is not random, I don't know what is. Why? Because this is not a mecha anime. This show is categorized in slice of life genre and in our real life, there are no giants robot invading the earth. And random is always good in my book. Plus this show is directed by the same guy who did Gintama. If you didn't know how I feel about Gintama yet, you are retarded.

Danshiko (that's what this show is called in anime fandom) is a tale of three boys; Tadakuni, Hidenori Tabata and Yoshitake Tanaka who are friends and attending the same highschool. Just like Kimi to Boku, they have the serious boy and the other two who will do anything in their ability to annoy the living hell of the serious boy, in this case Tadakuni. But it wasn't always about that. We are going to witness their daily lives routines and the people they acquainted and interact with as well which added to the fun.

There are several segments in one episode that cover different topic which tickled my funny bones. I personally laughed my ass off during the skirt segments. I knew boys who actually did that, especially when there was a gullible boy around. Tadakuni fits that description to a T. These segments are even funnier because almost each of it was triggered or initiated by Hidenori. The segment of Hidenori and literary girl at the river bank was awesome too. It's quite a turning point for me personally to be honest because I realized that I found a replacement for Kyon and he even wears a megane. A crossover of Kyon and Gintoki is just the perfect man, if you know what I mean.

Some people might questioned that this is not what boys normally do in their daily lives, but I assured you that for someone who grew up around boys and is still surrounded by boys in daily life, boys really did do all these meaningless stuffs and talk about useless stuffs. That is what make them so fun to be around. Girls on the other hands are boring. They pretty much talked about cute boys and the latest fashion and being bitchy about everything. What's fun about that? For example when Yoshitake voiced his concern about the hair on his nipples, isn't that real as fuck?

what I said

Needless to say, I will probably force this one down everyone's throat. So beware. I'm maximizing my virgin power for the sake of Danshiko!

First Impression: Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon

I heard a lot of shit about this one and I have no doubt that this will turn out as shitty as I have predicted in my Fall preview. However, knowing that Tomokazu Sugita is part of the cast makes me feel oblige to check this out. I wonder why does he has smaller roles nowadays. I miss him having a grand character that fits his awesomeness.

(c) Tori

I was almost fooled when I heard the song sang by a girl at the beginning of the episode. I must admit that it was sang beautifully. Thank goodness they showed us the face of the male protagonist. He looks like a retard. In fact, all characters look like a retard from up front. Apparently they don't have a nose >_>

After watching the first episode of Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon or Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere (the title itself is full of shit), I seriously has no idea what the story is about. They don't care to explain anything to us like Fate/Zero did but instead they decided to introduce us with the characters using a training method where the student must defeat the teacher to pass whatever class they are in. I assumed it's a training for becoming a soldier kind of thing since at the end of that training they have to fight a demon (yes, apparently they decided to put everything into this show).

It seems like these people being oppressed and the only freedom they have is when they are still a student since Musashi (the city they are in now) is an exile. These students have some sort of summon weapon, or a power boost for their weapon. Again, I can't be sure. There are also some mecha flying.

There is definitely too much visual to digest T___T

I can't say this show is ecchi but damn it that sounds of bouncing boobs are really distracting and annoying. Other than that, I'm fine with the whole ridiculous size of melon pans. The characters of the show are definitely a diversity. We have a naked man with bat ears running around, a robot, a heterochromia, a blonde girl who has a b0nar as a summon weapon, a juggernaut, an indian, a fatty, a talking red blob whose name is Renji, giga drill breaker, some dude with ninja skills, lesbians and of course our usual suspects of good for nothing male protagonist who-has-nothing-going-on-for-him-yet-he-is-a-pervert-who-gets-to-fuck-all-the-girls-and-be-a-hero, his quiet counterpart and few others. If nothing else, it is actually entertaining to see that many characters interacting with each other as they want to take down that nimble teacher of theirs. The fact that the Aoi Toori is a fucking retard who fondle his teacher's breasts without shame is kinda fun (and annoying at the same time because of that damn censorship!) because he's a total tool.

Well, in the end, I guess this wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It's still shitty with that overly dramatic story that it has in store for us. Perhaps they can balance it out with the diverse characters. Who knows, right though I doubt it?

First Impression: Phi Brain - Kami no Puzzle

Initially this show is categorized in the "potential to be shit" list in my Fall preview. I just don't like the sound of the synopsis. It was too overly complicated and a little bit too ambitious I think. However, here I am now sitting in front of my computer watching this shit instead of finishing a business proposal.

The show started with a high school student who looks like he has a permanent scars under his eyes, saving some dude in a cape from death as he tried to solve a puzzle that caused the earth to cave in and consequently created a lake. Like I said, they are too ambitious with the ideas.

Daimon Kaito (that's his name by the way) is self-claimed puzzle genius. He's your Indiana Jones. In short, he's an asshole. Soji, the president of a puzzle club at his school gave him a game that contains several puzzles to be solved. Once he got that cleared he receive an invitation from a Minatour, some retarded dude wearing a buffulo mask. Either he will solve the puzzle or he dies. Meh, needless threat >_>

Anyhoo, Soji is in the league with the principal to recruit student with Phi Brain and obviously Kaito is a candidate. They need him so they can get to Divine Puzzle shit whatever. But first he has fulfill the Orpheus' Contract, which he did (duh).

When I heard the name Kaito, my brain does a flip and this is the only image that comes to mind
(c) Kyou Zip

The character designs, like I pointed earlier are kind of derpy. I just don't dig it much. It's just not about the designs but the personality of the characters as well. They are kind of a typical and nothing inspirational. Thankfully though the seiyuus are all pretty excellent and that makes the characters likable to a certain extend. The episode itself is meant to be engaging but it just lack the excitement. It would have been better if the audience is allowed to figure out some one the puzzle as well. The grand idea is there but they sort of fail at the execution.

I would have dropped this if it wasn't for the preview. It seems like they will introduce a new character that will be one of the three musketeers for this show and he looks crazy enough to pique my interest.

So for now, this show survives.

First Impression: Sacred Seven

This is the show that reminds me of Star Driver and perhaps the only motivation I have at the moment to watch it. Hopefully it will not crush my expectation (too badly).

One day, a ship was blown at sea and our unfortunate protagonist saw it from afar. There was Medusa in that ship and with his power, he kinda put his eyes on Alma Tandoji (that's the name of our male protagonist). It is all good though until a bunch of maids blocked the road. I mean, what the fuck with that get up? How the fuck am I supposed to take this show seriously now?

*sigh*

Sadly that's when the story really starts. Ruri directly asks for Alma's help to defeat the monster. She awakens the power within him cliche as fuck. The monster obviously is after him so that just gives him the reason to run amok in the city and thus Alma will come forward as a hero that saves the city from destruction. I gotta say that I love his fighting armor suit. It's red and sleek. I was expecting something mecha but this is obviously better. When he's mad, he's fucking mad.

But Ruri ruins it for me. Once she gives him her gay heart-shaped stone, his armor turns to pussy. Fuck. Needless to say that pissed the hell out of me. Fuck. He can't do much in that gay suit armor of his especially when there are bigger fish to fry >=(

I certainly is not a fan of Ruri Aiba. Girls with giga drill breaker hair like her tend to stick to their archtype character and such character just doesn't do well with me. Then there's that butler of hers that is so like Sebastian it's not even funny. Alma is not a very social protagonist and at first it seems like people fear him for some reason. Awww, he is just misunderstood. Thankfully his classmate Wakana does not shy away from him. I like her right away.

The second half of the show gets me on edge and thus I am entertained. I am still not happy with the gay suit though. Certainly NOT HAPPY at all that Ruri bought the fucking school. She should die.

The show actually doesn't has that Star Driver to it. More like Tiger and Bunny if they attempted anything serious but thankfully it's totally different in term of how the show is carried and so on. It's made by Sunrise afer all. I'll watch this show until I can't take anymore crap from Ruri. Besides it looks like there's a character that I haven't officially meet yet and I think I'm gonna like him a lot.

First Impression: Tiger & Bunny

My first initial impression about Tiger & Bunny when I saw the synopsis wasn't good. Looking at the first minute of the anime, I am afraid that I could be right about it. However since I've started watching the OP, I might as well sit through the whole episode. Who knows that it could turned out to be something that I might actually enjoy like Star Driver?

Pfft! who am I kidding? I can't take this show seriously.

I mean, look at this piece of shit here.

And the supposedly superheroes are nothing more than paid actors. What superheroes have to wait for commercial break to be over to start saving life. Sure Wild Tiger didn't get through with the producer's idea but can you see how they make a mockery of this whole shit?

The heroes care more about their popularity than be of service. The worst (or the best, if you want to look at it from comedy side of things) part of it is that they are really terrible at what they are doing, except for Sky High, maybe. And that's a big maybe. They even need saving themselves, that's how freaking bad they are. If that wasn't enough, they still have to think of their sponsors so basically they can't do things impulsively.

But at least there's one hero that wasn't as shit as the rest of them. No one knows who he is (yet) an that's the best part about this episode (which sadly last for less than a minute). He turned out to be quite a jack ass.

Towards the end of the show, the tone kinda switched and I finally see the human side of it. Wild Tiger is the struggling hero and unwanted by the public because... well, he's kinda bad at what he does. He has a daughter who his mom take care of. I assumed his wife is dead. His character is totally the opposite of the jack ass and I almost feel for him. I said almost, because when he joined the new company, he got an upgrade (including his super hero suit) and he wasn't as pathetic anymore, except maybe in the eyes of his daughter. He also has to pair up with the jackass. He can't say no because that's what the company wants *facepalm*

I guess this show is about he and the jackass (Tiger & Bunny), how they overcome their differences and be the best of buddies by the time the show ends. It is also about defeating NEXT, the company who is responsible for the bad shit that happened, for example the Iron Statue that they will fight in the next episode.

These two weren't bad as a character. They kinda entertaining with their opposite personalities. Can't say the same thing about the other heroes though since they are hardly get any screen time. Then there's the producer who is hungry for ratings and will do anything to get it. She maybe working for NEXT. I am just assuming here...

Surprisingly I did enjoy the show. If time permits it, then I will continue watching. If not, well, I don't think I will be missing much, in term of anime fandom.

Gintama: Shiroyasha Koutan

OMG this was supposed to be the promotional video for Gintama the movie: The Birth of Shiroyasha? Why the hell we did not get to see the movie?!?!!

oh wait. That's because it was a fucking troll!! LMAO

Damn I should have known! Gintama just fucking trolled my ass and like always I fucking love it!

The animation quality for first part of the OVA is awesome, like it always does whenever Gintama got on serious mode. The second part of the OVA though is of the typical Gintama.

You get to see all your favorite characters, none were left out. That is how caring Gintama is towards their fans, who despite getting trolled, still love this shit. It was probably because we do want to see a movie made or simply because we all eager to learn about Gintoki's past. Even though this is fake, it is still made of awesomeapplesauce.

Gin-san and his beautiful quote

As a Gintamards, I have no problem being bias as fuck and will give this OVA 10 out of 10 because Gintoki is freaking amazing. So are the fights, the troll, the jokes, the troll, the naked Hasegawa, Zura janai Katsura da, the troll, Shinpachi got cut into half, the troll, the mini Gin-san, the Joui, the troll, Shinsuke losing his eyes, the troll, and more trolls. XD

Here is the OVA. I'm sure you are so going to fucking love this :)

Mobile Gundam SEED Destiny

I was just done crying.

No, I did not get my heart broken again.

Although in a way it might be…

Actually I was just done watching Gundam Seed Destiny (thank you FireDagger!)

I watched Mobile Suit Gundam but not really a fan of the series because at that time the characters weren’t as good looking as the Seed’s characters. Those who are close to me might have heard me mentioning my devotion to Athrun couple of years back. I can’t stop talking about him then. As years gone by, I thought I had grown out of it. Apparently I am not.

My devotion for him is actually doubled if not tripled.

Besides, this time around I am connected to the other characters as well. I might adore Shinn Asuka as much as I adore Athrun Zala. My heart also goes out for Lunamaria Hawke and Rey Za Burrel although Rey sometimes really ticked me off and tried my patience especially when he rallied Shinn against Athrun.

Athrun and Shinn are very similar in a way that both have a painful pass. Both of their parent/family died because of the war. Shinn is very much like Athrun in Gundam Seed. He’s Athrun’s younger version in Gundam Seed Destiny. The only different is their personalities.

I can understand why Shinn was so obsessed to defeat Orb. He was repeatedly betrayed by them although it was all a misunderstanding. Probably that is why I can relate to his character so well. I understand how it felt to be betrayed by the person you trust the most. You might lose all sense of justice if you are not careful and let the hatred consume you. That was what happened to Shinn. He fought for the sake of a peaceful world but at the same time he wanted to seek revenged for those he had lost. He was so damned confused most of the time. He needed people like Luna (or Athrun earlier on) to make he comes to his senses but Ray always managed to lured him back to confusion. I don’t blame Ray, he was used himself. Please note this though: however confused he is, he is so damn good when he is in Impulse/Destiny and fighting the enemy. He is way cooler than Athrun or Kira in that sense. Call him whatever you want, to me he is sincere and that is the most appealing thing about him.

Speaking of Ray and Luna… The three of them (including Shinn) in my opinion were mercifully used by Durandal to achieve his plan. They were deceived by Durandal who I must say a sweet-talker (because Athrun and I was deceived too!) to fight for him in order to create a world where all human’s DNA are predetermined so no war will break out in the future. His idea might be noble since it is to build a world that is peaceful, but he wants to play God and altered the characteristic of human being which is plain wrong. Captain Talia Gladis and the crew of Minerva were deceived too but as a soldier of war they have no choice but to follow orders. I must say that I respect every single one of the crew members that were on board of that Minerva.

Let’s get back to Athrun. What can I say except that this guy is so damn marvelous! He is a good friend, an excellent GUNDAM fighter, an awesome captain and a very considerate person. The only thing that I wish I could change about him is the fact that he likes Cagalli. No offense but Cagalli is just plain boring. However I do understand why there was chemistry between them. It was Cagalli who always steered him back to the right path in Gundam Seed. Thank God there is no romance between him and Cagalli in these episodes of Destiny (except when he leaved Cagalli to joined ZAFT). Hmm, I wonder what kind of relationship they will have after the war with Durandal end. Cagalli didn’t wear the ring Athrun gave her before he set off to war so that is a good sign… Heh, by now you might have notice the real reason why I dislike Cagalli right? It was because of pure jealousy. Hahaha!

Athrun bears the world problems on his shoulder and tries with his might to find the truth and fight for what he believes in. He does not take command for the sake of it and always trying to protect the people that he cared about even if they are on the opposite site.

Unlike Kira Yamoto.

Gundam lovers might have problem with the fact that I actually not a fan of Kira. He is the other hero of Gundam Seed, alongside Athrun, isn’t he?

I just think he is too virtuous and self-righteous not to mention a very selfish person. Some might argue that he is the best GUNDAM fighter but I think Shinn have surpassed him in that area. He always picked a fight with Athrun if they are not on the same page and never bother to listen to what Athrun had to explain which then make a certain situation worst. Let’s not forget the fact that he killed Nicol and then snatched away Lax, Athrun’s fiancé. Grr, I simply can not respect someone who would do such a thing to his best friend.

But Athrun is too good a friend and a person. That’s why he can forgive Kira for what he had done. Nice kan?

I am writing this because I am still got hang over from the Gundam dose. I am not satisfied with the way the Destiny ends. I want to know what happen to the characters although it is obvious that Orb will rule the world. I want to know with whom Athrun ends up with (hopefully not Cagalli) and how his life would be after the war. I also want to know if Shinn will ever recover from his painful pass and whether or not Luna can steer him to the right path. In fact I want to know everything! Am I greedy? Perhaps I am but you will too if you watch the series so do not pass any unnecessary judgment :oP

I must say, besides Bleach, this is the most intense anime I had watched so far even surpassing the first series of Gundam Seed. From the first episodes to it last, it was like riding a rollercoaster. This is the second anime (next to Bleach) that manage to make me cry. Now, with pride, I confessed that I am officially a Gundam freak. That is why it deserved a review.

Before I end this review, I need to mention how handsome and adorable Athrun and Shinn are (okay Kira too if you must)!! Memang tak boleh handle specially with Shinn’s red eyes. He is so damn good-looking! I am in love…
