Aku no Hana

It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.

A Year Older: Again

It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.

Goodbye 2012 and Hallo 2013

So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.

Light Writings: Love II

I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.

Light Writings: Crush II

Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.

First Impression: Mirai Nikki

I read the manga once but I honestly can't remember the details of what the story is all about. It should be good otherwise I wouldn't have picked it up. After observing the aniblogsphere it seems like asread is doing a better job adapting this series that AIC did with Maken-ki!

Mirai Nikki is literally translated to Future Diary. In this case, it is in the form of cellphone. Since it's the "diary of a future", losing the diary means it is a dead end for the owner of the cellphone as well. Yukiteru Amano is one of the owners. He is a quite school boy who spend his time writing short entry of what he observed into his cellphone and it became his diary of some sort. Since he has no friend, he created an imaginary friend of his own called Deus Ex Machina, the God of time and space. Little did he know that his fugly friend is actually a real god. So without his consent, he was chosen as the owner of a Mirai Nikki and have to play the Survival Game with 11 other players (one who is a major stalker of him, Yuno Gasai). Killed or be killed. Poor kid is scared out of his pantsu.

I have never watched anything from fully produced by asread before but I have got to say that, despite how fugly Deus is, they have done a good job with the series. Maybe it was the blood and gruesome murders but yeah, I'm digging it nonetheless. They have also successfully portrayed Yuno as bat shit insane girl that she actually is, even more so than in the manga which makes this show so much fun to watch. Character designs wise, asread has done an exceptional job.
I do not know most of the casts for the main characters though but fear not because they are obviously professionals so no worries there either. Mirai Nikki series has a good story based to begin with and I'm just glad that asread didn't screw this one up. For the first time I think the anime was better than the manga.

Time flies when you are having fun and before I knew it, there's Murumuru showing us how she recruited the Third. She's cute. There I said it!

There are 25 more episodes to go and I hope the gore and blood will not just be a tease. I'm a fan.

Denpa Teki na Kanojo: Happiness Game

After the high rating that it got in part 1, obviously I was looking forward for the second installment: Happiness Game.

Like the first one, part 2 started with a scene that will definitely got your attention: a highschool boy appeared to kill himself with a knife with two of his friends witnessing the deed.

And then the same sentence keeps on repeating on the screen: I want to be happy.

The story started with Juuzawa Juu being accused of molesting in the train by a couple of highschool girls who earlier received a picture on Juuzawa in their phones. He was saved however by Hikaru, Ame's sister (who looks a lot like Senna from Bleach: Memory of Nobody, only their hair and eye colors are different).

The next day, rumors about what had happened spread throughout the entire school and Juuzawa were annoyingly harassed. Ame was spot on with her analysis. Juuzawa wasn't the only one though. Hikaru received the same kind of treatment because she helped him out. The same goes for the Student Council President, Shiraishi-san. Gradually the harassment started to get out of hands.

With the help from Ame, Juuzawa found the proprietor. The leader of the "Happiness Club" is the member of the school's student council, Ayase, also known as Kuraki. She really was one screwed up fucker. She stayed in the house with her mother corpse rotten in the living room. She was actually taking her revenge on Shiraishi-san because she was the reason his brother killed himself (a fucked up family, ne?)

And you would think that's that. However this awesome show once again blow my mind with it's unexpected ending. It was fucking delicious.

Compared to the first episode, there is less action in this one which kind of disappointing but the way they handled the problem kinda erased my trepidation a bit because it was very subtle. Great example that fighting/aggressiveness cannot always solved problems.

Like I have mentioned, besides the usual cast of Juuzawa Juu and Ame Ochibana, we have several other characters:

Madoka and Kirishima are close friends who helped Ame with this case. They are both very good at fighting too just like Ame. Kirishima might not looks like it but she is definitely one sick chick. If Madoka didn't stop her, she would have killed without restrain. Besides Ame, I really like her a lot.

Hikaru is Ame's younger sister? Anyway, she has a bit of a crush on Juuzawa I think.

Ayase or Kuraki. One fucked up shithead.

However in the end, those characters are just fillers. In the end, it was Ame and Juuzawa that truly matter =3

They are the essence of Denpa Teki na Kanojo

I am so glad that the seiyuu for Juuzawa Juu, Yoshimasa Hosoya, did not forget his habit of 'tsk'ed/clicking his tongue whenever he gets annoyed. Good job for the rest of the crew too for the consistencies of not only the character designs but the voice acting as well.

Denpa Teki no Kanojo

The anime started with a rape scene so naturally I was excited intrigued.

Denpa Teki no Kanojo tells the story of one delinquent Juuzawa Juu. One day he met Ame Ochibana who pledge her body/soul/heart to Juuzawa, claiming that she and he are linked in their previous life. Their story is alternate with some gruesome murder scenes which of course needs to be solved.

The day he met Ame, his class president, Fujishima got killed by the Phantom Killer who he chanced upon while walking randomly in a rainy night. Ame found the murder weapon and told him so but of course he who thinks Ame has a few screws loose in her head thought that she is the Pantom Killer. So begins his investigation until he met the culprit.

Then BAM! the one he caught before wasn't the real culprit. I was totally caught off guard. It was goooooooood.

The story touches issues that are rather common nowadays and shows us how we as human learn to face those issues. It was psychologically delicious.

The animation is decent. It got really details when it comes to the gory murders. Other than that nothing special. I also notice the action sequels. It was pretty darn sharp.

The voice actors did a good job in my opinion since they all seems in character, be it deceiving or not. Juuzawa especially have this habit of clicking his tongue whenever he gets annoyed and that little thing makes him more real and believable as a character.

The ED song is something that I don't mind having on my playlist either if I could find it.

The ending of this OVA is freaking amazing. It was unexpected which is why I enjoy it so much. It influenced my rating a lot. I mean A FUCKING LOT. This OVA is definitely a must watch for thriller/mystery lovers out there.

Ame

I'm looking forward for the next two episodes. I don't mind having more of this goodies.

Thank you Ayako fansubs for picking this one up.
