It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.
It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.
So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.
I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.
Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.
I am behind on several episodes but it is alright, I always watch anime whenever I feel like it, or in recent year, whenever I can spare time for it. Korra is no exception. I say it is best to enjoy your anime as you please without feeling obligated to it. You are in control... not the anime.
Now I am just sprouting nonsense.
Apparently I am not the only one. Mako just gets on my nerve and sprouting shit as if he knows everything. He and Korra definitely match each other. Bolin on the other hand just keeps growing on me. Oh alright... he gets in trouble every so often but I blame Mako for that. He isn't exactly a good brother. All he does is belittling Bolin. So yeah, I don't blame Bolin when he was influenced by the money and did some shady business for the Triple Threat Triad even though Mako specifically said that he shouldn't.
Okay, maybe I was too hard on Mako. I dunno why but Mako just does not interest me any more. I need to
see him fire-bend for real in order to lit up my expectations on him. He
just doesn't seems... genuine. Unlike you-know-who that can fire-bend
and is cool/sexy as fuck.
having said that, I WILL REAP him whenever *faps*
(c) kehven
Korra on the other hand has quite an improvement with her training to be an air-bender. She has no problem getting through the 2000 year-old air bending thingy when Mako pays her a visit. If Tenzin's daughters are right, it seems like Korra has said something to them about Mako and if her reactions afterwards is any indication, she definitely has the hots for Mako. Oh boy...
Anyhoo, Mako gets the wind that shit is going down between the triad and he quickly comes to Bolin's rescue, with the help of Korra of course. Bolin is caught by the anti-bending group who called themselves as the Equalist. Though they can't bend, they sure know how to fucking fight. Neither Mako or Korra are able to land a few blows on chi blockers. They are the one on the other hand that received all the beatings, of which prevented them to bend. Hah interesting indeed.
So far I never actually give any fuck about the anti-bending group but after that fight at the square, I know that this long and hard war against them would be so freaking awesome. At least both sides are equally match.
The Equalist is having a Revelation meeting and Amon (or at least I think that's how it is spelled) gives some hoolah speeches to those who attend the meeting. Basically he just fucked the benders and claimed that the Spirits have chosen him to replace the Avatar since he has the power to take people's bending away permanently. LOL Okay forget what I said on that last paragraph. Their leader is cuckoo.
In order to prove himself, he uses the Triple Threat Triad leader with Bolin in tow. But holy fuck he wasn't kidding!
Tenzin is right. Now no bender is safe.
But then again, Tenzin or anyone good that is responsible of the city should have take care of the Triple Threat Triad or anyone who misused their bending powers toward the normal people. Also, why the hell Aang, the avatar who supposedly lived for such a long time, didn't manage to create balance to the world? The extortion could have been prevented and so on, can't it?
This is supposedly the second part of "About me" section. I have already described - or at least my friends did - how/who am I in person. I am sure you are an intelligent person to read between the lines. The conclusion is: I'm awesome as fuck. Heh, problem?
That section doesn't actually describe me as an anime fan though. So here I am making an attempt to figure out exactly that.
So what kind of anime fan am I? I never really asked myself this question before although I did encounter it a few times at other blogs. It sure got me thinking. In order to figure it out, I have to ask myself a few questions. I don't know how this will help answering that question but let's just do it anyway.

First of all, I know for certain that I am the kind of anime fan that is easily influenced by either the characters or the originality of the whole story/plot. I wasn't that picky about story line when I first started watching anime because at that time, all anime that I watched were new to me. However as years gone by, the lack of originality becomes quite apparent and we are served with one cliche shit after the other, especially when it involved moe, ecchi and shoujo; three of the least favorite genres of anime for me.
What drives me as a fan?
Nowadays I can say for certain that I am a character driven fan. Whether or not I will enjoy the show now depends heavily on the characters. If there is even one character that I fall for, be certain that I would probably continue watching the anime albeit the story. Please take note though that when I said fall, I mean me falling head over heels in love with that said character and not just merely liking them. They motivates me like no other, not even a 3D, can. Through this, I also find myself shipping the characters and will invest a lot of emotions into those shipping as well.
What kind of characters I am in to?
I guess it is because of my personality but I am always attracted to strong-will and feisty female characters. If you look at my banner up there, you see four of the fives female characters that I have such high regards for. The other one is of course Shiki. As for males, the range is quite expandable and flexible. I love characters like Sakata Gintoki to Ichimaru Gin and everything in between except for a wuss-good-for-nothing characters.
What kind of genre that gets me excited?
8 years ago I would say shounen in a heart beat since two of my gateway anime are shounen. Since then however I have watched and read all kind of genres, even those that I am not a fan of, from mecha anime to yaoi and everything in between. As I mature as a fan though, I found myself switching genres. Thanks to Gintama, I now appreciate wicked witty humor. Any other anime that has even an ounce of Gintama awesomeness is good enough for me. The recent example would be Nichibros. Uncharacteristically for me, maybe, but I also enjoyed slice-of-life more so than any other genres nowadays. They are often time that brought something different to the table, something that I have never seen before, or was executed differently and brilliantly that it moved me. They also contains somewhat real emotions that I can relate to and sometimes, even hit too close for comfort. But if there is one genre that always gets me excited, it would be yaoi. No explanation needed.
What am I looking for in an anime?
My ideal anime would have three things: bad-ass protagonists, original storyline, awesome visual. (1) When I said bad-ass, it doesn't have to be RAAAWWRRRR I AM GAR! but rather he or she is great at doing what she does. A touch of vulnerability as well to make them feels human. (2) originality is always good in my book but I understand how hard it is to come up with something original which is why I appreciate their effort even more if they managed to do just that. (3) So far there are few production studios that awe me with their ability to provide stunning visual and it's one of the reason why I mostly enjoyed their anime more so than other studios. In my opinion, that set them apart from other studios.
How many anime am I watching at the same time?
I used to watch more than 30 anime at the same time when I was a hikki back then. Nowadays, I would consider myself to be extremely lucky if I manage to follow 3 anime per season. That is just how drastic some changes in my life are. I am constantly feeling bad about this but I am well aware that there is nothing much I can do about it. With age comes responsibility. FUCK.
What kind of traits do I have as an anime fan?
Hmm let see... (1) I hate dub. I can't stand watching any dubbed anime. This does not mean that I think Japanese seiyuu is superior. I just think that anime should stay Japanese. (2) I used to be a figuretard but because I keeps getting busier by the day, I have stopped buying figures because what's the use if I don't have time to appreciate them? (3) YAOI FTW!! (4) I buy anime DVD that I love but I do download anime fansub because well... it's free. Call me a cheapskate and see if I give a fuck. (5) I guess that makes me a fansub elitist? (6) I often wish I am an anime character (7) I write fanfic
Do I have any fetishes resulted in watching anime?
Too many to count on both hands but the most prominent one is the development of megane (glasses) fetish. It even affecting my real life as I keep finding myself falling for the next guy I saw wearing a thick-rimmed megane. It just makes me heart goes doki-doki. HHHHHHHHHNNNNNNNGGH!
Does watching anime affecting my real life?
Yes, yes it does. It plays a big part that dictates my emotions in daily basis. It opens up endless possibilities in order for me to survive mundane everyday life.
And that's all folks. I can't think of any other questions that I should ask myself. Having answered the questions above, I am still unsure of what kind of anime fan I am. Having said that, I think I could draw a conclusion albeit not as accurately as I want it to be : I used to be an avid hardcore fan. Now I am in between casual and hardcore fan. To explain it in one sentence- I am a character driven fangirl who loves shipping and probably will get a bOnar at every single thing that excites me in anime.
So, I was reading a book by Zahiril Adzim titled Bogel Menuju Tuhan to kill time at my shop today. I was impressed by this actor. I never knew he is this talented. Too bad he is taken already. Anyway, long story short, reading his works gives me the urge to write myself. I was looking for pen and paper but since both was scarce, I started writing using Twitter as my medium. It end up to be a short poetry, dedicated to girls in general. Despite what the men say, the power is ours if you are steadfast and brave enough to recognize it.
this image has nothing to do with the poetry other than me trying to emphasize girls power

I tweak it a bit from the Twitter version. It is in Bahasa Melayu. I decided to call it Jangan Ketawa (Don't Laugh).
"Bukan ke kita bercinta?" Tegak aku ditanya. Pandang dia aku tidak. Tidak sampai hati membohongi. Ah sial, kenapa selalu begini?
Tak henti mendesak. Akhirnya aku kalah. "Tak biasa" jawab ku pendek. Eh dia gelak?
Aku tak nampak apa yang kelakar. Yang aku nampak menambah rasa menyampah. Kang ada aku anggap sampah.
Dulu ya memang aku cinta. Dulu ya memang aku sayang. Kini? Hanya rasa jelek. Benci tidak tapi apakah ini? Aku tidak mahu dicabuli.
Mana hak aku sebagai perempuan? Bukankah kau yang patut pertahan? Ini tidak, makin kau pijak dan hancurkan. Jauhkan.
Sudah. Aku kata sudah. Yang haram jangan kau halalkan. Aku bukan begitu. Aku bukan mainan. Aku ada agama dan pendirian.
Apparently that's the key technique for a good casting. Then there's feathering. Those with fishing hobbies, do take note because I won't bother to explain what it is here. I guess you just have to see the show for yourself.
(c) pixiv id 26830019
The free fishing lesson continues in this episode. Natsuki is serious as ever when it comes to fishing so Yuki and Haru don't have much of a choice but to train until they can't train anymore. But Natsuki is training Yuki more than just fishing though. He encourages Yuki to talk as he orders him to count the beat when casting the rod out loud. I lol'd when this is seemingly harder for Yuki than casting out the lure into the bucket.
LMAO I can't blame Yuki for feeling embarrass though credit has to be given to Yuki for not giving up. For this episode, I want to take a closer look into the four male protagonists. They are after all the backbone and the success factor of this show.
So far we only get to see Natsuki's life close up: he preparing dinner for his family and offered offering for his dead mother as well. From this instances we know that he is a responsible family guy who is great at fishing. To be honest I expected more. If this is all there is to Natsuki, then he is pretty one-dimensional character.
Yuki on the other hand... I just can't figure him out just yet. He looks like the kind of guy that don't give a damn about the shit that goes around him but at the same time he does. It's kind of complicated and I look forward to see his true self gets unravel as the episodes progress. Speaking of Yuki, his grandmother is admitted to a hospital. Apparently that is something of a norm for Yuki said he is used to it and acts nonchalantly but we all know that he's worried about her.
In the mean time, Turbanduck-san - I mean Akira - is revealed as a spy who spied on JF1 (Haru) and JF2 (his sister). He said that they both impersonating humans so I wonder what is Haru's true form is. I know it must have something to do with fish, but what kind? Dolphin? Because I hate dolphin.
I'm just sayin'
(c) pixiv id 3446019
Akira is in some kind of a secret underground agency called "Duck" (err.. duh) that monitor Haru's species for some reason. He is another character that shrouded in mystery and he keeps intriguing us (oh well - only me then) with his antics. Akira is obviously not please with his leaders, who one of them looks like a homo-pothead.
Last but not least, the self-proclaim alien Haru and his sister. Since he is supposedly a fish, water is his best weapon and the place he feels comfortable to the most. He also uses water to communicate with Koko who advices him to leave Yuki and find someone else to help them. I must say, I wish I have that kind of power. It would be way convenient than a cellphone/handphone/smartphone. Haru is most probably my least favorite of the four. He's just too annoying for me. His voice alone just gets on my nerves. However, plus point for him for not leaving Yuki as his sister suggested.
At the end of the episode, as expected, Yuki managed to cast the lure straight into the bucket and it was witness by everyone including Tapioca. Mission accomplished and it seems like Natsuki is happier about it than Yuki. Go figure.
if that is not the face of determination, I dunno what is
The aniblog tourney has served it purposes, or at least to me it has. Thanks to it I managed to find few good anime blogs that I have never heard of before and came across some topics that are interesting and fun. One of them is the 50 Questions. I have no clue who started it (oh I do actually. It's Ace Railgun) and since it has been a while since I last wrote my meme post, I thought that I should adapted his idea and write my own post about it. It is non-original but I don't give a fuck ^_^
Questions About Anime
1. Who is your favorite male anime character?
Only one? Fuck this is hard. *thinks* It is always a toss between the two Gin: Ichimaru Gin and Sakata Gintoki. Can't I pick the love child of these two?
Oh my heart ♥
(c) Riya
2. Who is your favorite female character?

I have to pick Fade to Black soundtrack, the third Bleach movie.
4. What is your favorite anime opening + animation?
Whenever someone mention an anime soundtrack, there is only one song

Kannagi - Motto☆Hade Ni Ne! by Haruka Tomatsu. This is the only anime
song that I have no problem standing up and dancing to like a moe girl
that I am not.
5. What is your favorite anime ending song + animation?
The animation was simple - Rukia holding what looks like a red ribbon. It's the Bleach ending song for episode 1-13 by Rie Fu titled Life is Like a Boat. One of the most memorable anime songs for me.

That moment when Kyon realized just how important Haruhi is in his life, as he desperately searching for her in The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya movie.

8. What anime character is most similar to you in terms of personality?
Oh? I just answered this question indirectly for the previous question. But I think I am a cross between Haruhi Suzumiya and Kuchiki Rukia. Both are temperamental, feisty, independent as well as bitchy at times but we have our soft side, especially when it involved the people who we cares about.
10. What is your least favorite thing about anime?

My favorite genre is quite diverse. I guess comedy (the intelligent one like that of Gintama) and perhaps slice of life with a touch of romance in it.

Well, the first round of the aniblog tourney was officially over yesterday and everybody is gearing up for Round 2 because this is where the real shit seriously begins. It will be interesting as fuck to see blogs that I am familiar with pitted against each other and makes it even harder for me to choose who should I vote for. In the end, it all comes back to my preference and if you knew me by now, you should know that I am biased as fuck so if you are pitted against my fav, then I am sorry. You should have been nicer to me and constantly provide me with instant bOnar!
see what I did 'ere?
In Round 1, there are several of my aniblogging friends that surprisingly didn't make it through. It was a blasphemy but life must continue. I know that they will do well regardless and the team that won against them won't survived in Round 2 anyway.
So, just like in Round 1, I am going to use my awesomeness to call out to my readers so that they will vote for these blogs below:
May 1, 2012 - I am a bit confused of lostty's gender now. I always thought that lostty has a penis but it won't explain as to why his blog is called Anime Princess. This must be because she has a vajayjay instead. But yeah, vote for her!
May 4, 2012 - A shout out for the team members of Metanorn because I can see how hardworking these team is especially Kyokai. Same goes for the AIOA guys... please make your blog name shorter :P.
May 5, 2012 - Sekijitsu! Hopefully there won't be unnecessary dorama this time around. Oh a special shout out for the CSW team as well. I love you both still ♥
May 6, 2012 - It is good to see that Trazor's Trzr23 made it through to round 2. Continue support he and his team plox!
May 7, 2012 - It's a good thing that they aren't pitted against each other: Ghostlining's We Remember Love and 8dayswithoutme's GAR GAR Stegosaurus.
May 8, 2012 - animekritik's Kritik der Animationskraft got through the first round. Let's make sure he will proceed to round 3!
May 11, 2012 - My girl Canne's Anime Review deserved to proceed to Round 3, just like my husband Glo's Eye Sedso (I'll probably write another post for him specially, just like I did last year). Joojoobees' Abandoned Factory Anime Review who was pretty excited for winning the first round will no doubt be ecstatic if he could win this match too. Last but not least, lets not forget to show our support Shinmaru's Unmei Kaihen by voting for him.
Like I said, Round 2 is more challenging as few of these bloggers have established themselves to be among the best i.e. famous in the aniblog sphere but wait till you see round 3! which I will be not a part of lol.
So my dear readers, however small the quantity is, your vote will probably mean something for these guys. If you could spend 2 minutes of your time by making these people happy, do it and feel good about yourself afterwards. Spread the love people!
