Aku no Hana

It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.

A Year Older: Again

It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.

Goodbye 2012 and Hallo 2013

So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.

Light Writings: Love II

I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.

Light Writings: Crush II

Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.

Diary of a tard - Week 1, January 2011

Tuesday, January 4

I want to shoot myself. Out of all the anime, why the fuck did I pick up episode 2 of Starry Sky? The interaction between the characters seemed force. There is nothing good about this shit except for the seiyuu. FUCK THIS!

The final episode of Kuragehime. Obviously I want more :3

Thursday, January 6

Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin
Special is not like I hope it to be. I was hoping to see Maya and how she live with little Abe instead I got Maya as little kids. I guess they want to focus on how she is obsessed with the occult way back then. But at least it has plot with the Tsucchi and they have Kozue too. So I’m not complaining much XD

I tried the first episode of Rio: Rainbow Gate! and oh how I raged! I take my anime seriously so I can't tolerate shit like this. I feel like it was mocking the tard in me.

My Top 10: Anime of 2010

edit: I keep forgetting to post this one up. Oh well, who cares if I'm outdated anyway?

This has turned out as a tradition for most of us. I feel obligated to name my top ten anime for 2010 since I did the same thing for 2009. It's good to keep track, is all I'm saying and after watching the first two abysmal anime for the winter, I feel like it is even more important to pull out that gems from all the rubbish and gave it a proper recognition.

As usual lets start from the big numbers. Noted that this is my own personal preference. Be damn if you disagree :D

10. Seitokai Yakuindomo

(c) koga

If it wasn't for Glo, I probably wouldn't have bothered with this show. I glad that I let his opinion gets to me and thus I marathoned this show, something that I wasn't able to do for quite sometimes. The reasons that I was able to enjoy this show a lot are because of two things: the characters and the sex jokes. It might get old to some but I just freaking loving it. Too bad the last episode was just some reminiscing shit otherwise this one could end up with 9 for ranking.

9. Arakawa Under the Bridge

(c) eriyama

SHAFT did it again. This one is fresh and something different from the usual. I like different. This one certainly has that originality feel to it whether it's the art style or the story line. Can't say that I enjoy the second season more than the first one though. The quality of the two is too far apart. They tried to deepen the romance plot between Nino and Ko but it all just seemed too forced. If I feel the first season was lacking, the second season is worse.

8. Ookiku Furikabutte: Natsu no Taikai Hen

(c) haco

This one is totally picked for bias reasons. Reason number one is because I really did enjoy it a lot. The first season of this show can be considered my getaway anime for the sports genre. Needless to say, I was grateful to A1-Pictures for brought in the second season. I hope there is more :)

7. Star Driver

Kiraboshi! .v.>
http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=1334674

When I first saw this show, I didn't take it seriously. I still do not taken it seriously till this day but there are just something about this show that made me enjoyed every episode so far. Maybe it's the Glittering Crux signal that I've been saying and implementing to unsuspecting people in real life, or the potential of yaoi between Sugata and Takuto or simply because of the absurdness of the exaggerations. Male mecha wearing heels? Only available in this show, man. Even with all that, the production team still takes anime seriously and produces quality anime. Kudos.

6. Giant Killing

(c) inudic

These made two anime sports in the list. Awesome. Giant Killing is basically one man show of Tatsumi. I just love how witty and cool he is. He reminds me of Jose Mourinho, who is one of my favorites, so it really is a plus. By the end of the show, I feel like I have bonded with the rest of the players as well. That was how I felt exactly when I finished Oofuri season one several years ago. That's a sign of a good show.

5. Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin

I just finished watching the whole show last week. I kinda put it on hold half way through. I forgot whether it was because I'm too busy with work or the story kinda put me to sleep but either way I glad I picked this one up again. It was still kinda out of this world with the whole occult and alien thingy but that's not why this show ended up in my top 5 anime of the year. This show reminds me of how important character development is. I kinda lost track for a while and never really give a damn about it but it goes to show how character development can turn a show around. Abe in the last episode is not the Abe you knew in episode 2. That was cool. And then there's the fact that it was produced by A1-Pictures and I just love Kozue as a character.

4. Durarara

http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=572026

I still have a couple of episodes to go and I'm saving the episodes for my moody day but as far as what I've seen so far, this one definitely deserved to be in the list for the sheer awesomeness of Izaya and each of the characters alone.

3. Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu

(c) kanata daiki

I love the hilarity of the whole show except when Himeji being moe and shit but whatever, Kouta still rocks. I wasn't expecting to like this show when I saw the preview chart but I ended up couldn't get enough of it. There are not much going on but the story is cleverly written to make it seems interesting and with a touch of funneh, this was a perfect mix for comedy. I am waiting with anticipation for season two. Hopefully it won't focus on Himeji and Yoshii because that would ruin the whole shit. I have high hopes indeed.

2. Kuragehime

(c) inoue mop

When I saw Kuranosuke, I sold my soul to the devil. When I saw Shuu, I bargained with the angel to let me in. I'm torn and that's why this one is so deliciously gooooood.

1. Working!!

(c) 48

The only show that I thoroughly enjoyed. I love the love triangle, the scheming, the androphobic, the cross dressing, the characters development, basically I love everything about it. Even with Kuragehime I raged at some point. Not with this one here. Every episode is entertaining and I really didn't have any idea what to expect. Just like Abe, I totally have different opinions about Takanashi by the time I've seen the last episode and just like Baka to Test Shoukanjuu and Kuragehime, I can't fucking wait for the second season. I hope there's one. There will be one, won't it? RIGHT?

Honorable mention: The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya

http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=199874

Simply a master piece.

Honorable mention: Cat Shit One

Fluffy bunnies carrying machine guns killing camels. You'll be crazy not to like this one.

And that ladies and gentlemen, concludes the year of 2010. Making this list made me realized how shitty the shows are as the year keeps adding up a number. Something needs to be done. Instead of doing some really lame and super dumb anime, they should stop producing and focus more on the quality of the anime and think of a plot that can put you on the map.

05 January 2011

First Impression: Rio: Rainbow Gate!

This is the ecchi pachinko goddess anime that I absolutely have no interest whatsoever to watch but since I'm in a bad mood and has nothing better to do besides the mounting paperwork, I might as well check this out and be glad that I've been proven right about how shitty this anime is.

Let's get started.

The story is about Rio who everyone calls the Goddess of Victory. Stupid nickname but whatever. Everyone who meets her will have the luckiest day at the casino so she's very popular. She'll help her customer (I assumed different customer each week) through games. Then there's Mint, she's the customer for this episode. Mint met Rio and was obviously smitten by her. At the same time, there's this kidnapper who aimed Mint but with Rio around, she doesn't have to worry. I write this 5 minutes in. That's how predictable this shit is.

It wasn't even logical. I know casino will try to prevent people from winning. That's how they make their money. It's illogical for them to adore Rio like that since she's causing everyone to win. Stupid anime with stupid plot this is.

The characters were boring as fuck. Even the female protagonist, Rio. It was a torture. They don't look lively at all. The background music was too fucking cliche and the seiyuus did nothing to make the characters stand out or have a character of their own. It was all too fucking blah.

I couldn't finish this shit without me raging so I quit half through. What a crap. This belongs to the "anime shit" list. I take my anime seriously.

art & animation 3/10
story 1/10
characters 2/10
sound 2/10
enjoyment 1/10
overall 1/10

04 January 2011

And so it ends: Kuragehime episode 11

For some reason I wasn't in the mood to watch anime after the New Year but I know I have to get out of this slump soon. Since I started with a shitty anime, I thought of making up with Kuragehime final episode. I'm reluctant to watch this to be honest when I saw everyone's reaction but I have to do it sooner or later so let's just do this now.

This is how I felt after watching Starry Sky >>

Looks like Tsukimi has found what she wants to do with her life and that is to create many more jellyfish dresses. Kuranosuke made a mistake of encouraging her so his wardrobe has become the victim of fashion. Chieko and Jiji are clever enough to get out of there before they become the slaves. Unfortunately they don't have anywhere else to go since their house has been sealed up so they went back to Kuranosuke's hoping that he can help them out.

What a sight to behold XD

Little that they know that it was all a big mistake. The construction workers sealed up the wrong house. LOL fuck this, I was ready to kill the bitch. Well, I still am. Even though their house is safe at the moment, the redevelopment is still on going around them so it is only a matter of whether or not they can come up with the money to buy the house. They are working hard with the jellyfish dolls etc.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the afro the dresses that Tsukimi made. The dress was chose for a fashion competition or something and thanks to one of the judges' obsession with afro (in this case Banban's afro), they got selected. Well I'm not taking anything away from Tsukimi's effort. It is a nice looking dress after all and it deserves to win. With that out of the way Tsukimi is now officially a designer.

This is all thanks to Kuranosuke. Thanks to him, even the nunz are better at socializing now. He obviously still pins his feelings unconsciously on Tsukimi and it is fun to see him blushing whenever he sprout the truth only to realize what he said afterward.

cute :3

And fuck me please. I can't believe I was right. The bitch/whore/cunt/slut/skank really did have a change of heart. After that smack on her face, she has a crush on my Shu-shu. Needless to say, I'm not happy with this development. If Shu feels the same way, I am so gonna rage.

To run away from her feeling, the bitch plan to get away and I want to kick the director's ass for putting Shu on the same plane as well. Fuck, however way I see it, it looks like the bitch will get her hands on Shu.

I don't know why people think this episode sucks. I enjoyed it a lot. Sure it left so many things unanswered and with no indication of a second season but I'm truly believe that this is far from over. There are so many unresolved issues:

  • Tsukimi's true feelings. She HAS to choose whether it's the older brother or the younger one
  • Kuranosuke needs to be truthful to his feelings
  • Shu needs to kill the bitch
  • Shu needs to tell the truth about Kuranosuke's mom (that she committed suicide, if I reckoned correctly)
  • the redevelopment issue regarding the nunz's place

I'm looking forward to season two of Kuragehime ^__^

Anime: Spring 2011

What is this shi-

Someone (Scamp) has been working over time. The Winter season hasn't even started yet but here he is, releasing the anime chart for Spring 2011. I have much love for this guy now :3

So without wasting anymore time, let's dig in now. Itadakimasu!

  • I'm not really an avid fan of Appleseed but I have watched them movies and what not so I kinda look forward to check out Appleseed XIII I guess. Production IG is good with this kinda stuff, after all. Not sure if I'll watch it week to week though.
  • I wasn't too sure about Sket Dance until I saw Keiichiro Kawaguchi's name. I enjoyed Zettai Karen children and it has similar kinda story, I think that this is worth my time checking it out although I have a pre-notion that it might actually ends up too similar to ZKC.
  • No real details with C but just look at the time slot. I'm sold.
  • Gintama is fucking back! I just wet my pantsu :3
  • I didn't read the manga so I do not know what to expect with Deadman Wonderland. From what I've seen the art is pretty cool and the story line kinda dark and bloody. I love blood so I'm probably going to like this one.
  • Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko is from Shaft and the synopsis has got me intrigued. A girl walking around by tying a mattress to her waste? She sounds unique. Just my kind of girl. Let just hope she does not turn out to be just another moe-blob but I doubt it. With Akiyuki Shinbo as the director, this could be the one of the most entertaining and talked-about show of the season.
  • Looks like Steins;Gate will be one of the average shows of the season but I can't say that I'm not interested. It looks to star women with some really strong characters but at the same time I feel like I can't take this show seriously when I saw the maid at the back >>
  • Hyouge Mono is about tea. Even though I'm a tea lover I think I'm gonna pass this one after I took a sip.
  • A moe show Nichijou from KyoAni. Reading the synopsis, I really want to see the principal wrestles a deer so I might watch this. This could be my guilty pleasure of the season.
  • Moshidora is another show by Production IG. I'm not sure what to think of it until I've seen at least the first episode of it.
  • The arts and character designs are pretty enough to get me interested with Hanasaku Iroha but if she turns out to be stupid and moe, then I'm gonna drop this shit. At least make her feisty, is all I'm asking. Could this one turns out to be a shoujo?
  • I sense Shakugan no Shana when I look at Hidan no Aria. The protagonist certainly fits in with most of Rie Kugumiya's character. I don't think I'm that interested to find out. We'll see. If I do watch this, maybe it's because J.C Staff produces it.
  • Showa Monogatari claimed to be the world's first anime aimed at seniors and since I'll be a senior this year, I feel like I'm obligated to watch this.
  • I'm definitely going to watch 30-sai no Hoken Taiiku just because I feel like I can relate to the story already. LOL this is going to be fun!
  • Ao no Exorcist is the one and only show that is produced by A1-Pictures for this season and there is no way I'm going to skip this. The protagonist is the son of Satan by the way. If I need any more reason than that, I deserved a kick in the ass.
  • I have seen the special episode of Toriko. I might watch this for the stupidly GAR shit.
  • Sunrise said that Tiger & Bunny is an original superhero anime show and looking at the characters, I think this could turns out like Hero-man shit or Panty and Stocking shit. Either way, it won't be good. I am willing to be corrected though.
  • I enjoyed the first season of The World God Only Knows 2 so I guess it won't hurt to watch the second season of the same shit :)
  • I sense Yosuga no Sora when I saw Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai. Where did that come from =|
  • Oh shit Maria is back in Maria+Holic 2. Hopefully Kanoko will finally get to lick his dick :D
  • First it was the disastrous Iron Man. Then they adapted Wolverine and Supernatural. For Spring, Madhouse is going to adapt X-Men next *facepalm* why the obsession?
  • GOD FUCK YES A FUCKING YAOI! Needless to say, I'm so gonna watch Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi. Surprisingly this one is from Studio Deen. They are going in the right direction XD
  • Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi sound so generic and stupid and repetitive of the same old shit. Skip!
  • An attempt to emulate K-ON. That's what A Channel is but I just might like this one if they learn anything from K-ON.
  • Okay, just WTF really. This is either going to be a hentai or lolicon. Both is not good in my book. No wonder Lotte's Toy sounds like a sex toy name. If semen is the focus of this show than God have mercy on the soul of those who enjoy this crap.
  • I didn't watch the first season of Kampfer so there is really no reason for me to watch Kampfer fur die Liebe now. I'm glad.

I don't give a damn about the last three. I never follow the franchise and I'm not going to start now. I'm too old for that. So that is my thought for this first version of Scamp's Spring Chart 2011. Let's just hope I won't be too busy with class to watch the anime that I have set my eyes on.

Jeebus, that's a long list of anime...

Here's version 2 of the preview: click here.

Diary of a tard - Week 5, December 2010

Sunday, December 26

Chapter 39 of Hyakko: It's all about Ayami. We get to know more about her from Konomi and Ayumi POV. She doesn't have that many friends back in elementary school simply because the other girls were jealous of her and she was clueless about it. Konomi no longer go to the same school as Ayumi though. One day she received an invitation from Ayami to go to the Shion Festival at her school. She decided to go with Maiko and that's that. So we will see some reunion in the next chapter. I can't wait!

Star Driver episode 12: The Glittering Crux needs Takuto's libido for one of their cybody. This should be fun, right? Obviously everyone will try to get in his pantsu now. The first to try was Watanabe. Finally she's up for the fight and what a fucking worthy opponent. Fist fight is the best after all. Reminded me of Fight Club, really. On the other hand, OH SHIT Sugata and Head! I have got a feeling that Sugata/Samekh will fall into his hand which mean Takuto/Tauburn is fucked up.

Damn you, Watanabe

Ko's dad sent someone to investigate Nino in episode 6 of Arakawa Under the Bridge x Bridge. Then the Mayor came to the rescue just like he did in season 1. There's no proved yet that he's the mayor but I recognized the voice. So Nino was contacted my her parents and had to leave the river bank. She asked Ko to join her. Ko of course couldn't possibly took her seriously. Even if he did think about marriage, he didn't realized that Nino opened her arms for everyone to come and join her. Anyway, this is the first time I see Nino expressing her joy by punching people. Win. Also, I think the mangaka has Nino's secret in his stalker diary. He's not even kidding about the scuba dive.

I’ve decided to semi marathon Durarara so tonight I’m watching episode 10-12 and boy it was a fucking ride. Never did I expect that Ryuugamine Mikado is the founder of Dollars. That was just… holy shit. And then the girl with Yagiri is actually Hajima. She’s not dead yet. She just had plastic surgery by Shinra and made her looked like Selty. The headless Selty obviously knows that Shinra knew where her head is all these years and confronted him. I was initially afraid for him but the confrontation turned to love confession on both side. Isn’t it nice to have that kinda of love that defies the reality and common boundaries? I want my love to be like that if not that of Mikiya and Shiki. I have decided that my favorite characters from this show so far are Izaya, Kida and Shinra :3

Seikimatsu Occult Academy episode 8: Maya and Ami was in the middle of making up when a motherfucking ugliest chupacabra ever showed up and took Ami away while drinking her blood. The rest of the episode turned to a ghost buster event. Even Abe impressed me in this one. Somehow this has to do with the vice principal. I was thinking where has she run off too actually.

Monday, December 27

Another episode of Seikimatsu Occult Academy. The vice principal has some serious gift. She could summon the dead. Instead of summoning the former principal, she summoned Akari, a little girl. After the class, the girl still lingered. Apparently she’s a poltergeist. She frozen to death so Maya and the guys are helping her out.

To Aru Majutsu no Index II episode 5: The bitches with pen in their ears are fucking crazy but that didn’t stop the good guys from kicking their asses. Apparently even Ursula didn’t know how to decipher the magic book. She has been deceived all along into believing that she can. Pathetic. The fight between Touma and that flat-chest commander was entertaining at least. As usual he over exerted himself and got himself admitted to the hospital again.

Episode 4 of Togainu no Chi: There are really nothing interesting in this episode. Rin sharing his food, Shiki out on a night hunt, Rin attempting to rape Akira… you know the usual boring stuff. Except the part were Akira is fighting Shiki for the first time. I had a b0nar.

kissu kissu kissu!

Who knows when was the last time I read Zettai Karen Children. Catching up to the manga now. Hyobu did all that to Yuri so that she'll be free from Black Phantom. I couldn't help but love him when he pent out his frustration Minamoto. In the new arc, I'm glad that the kids are beginning to take the idea of dating and kiss seriously. It will just make things more interesting. But that's not all, now the Children will involve with the negotiation between Japan and the fag's country. So Sakaki and Minamoto went a date with Mamiji to get to know Muscle weakness. In the middle of it, Feather interrupted them and kidnapped Minamoto. She brought him to tsubomi’s room with huge bed. I know where this is going and it piss me off. Served Minamoto right though. He’ll be in a lot of hell next week. Just when he kissed Feather, Kaoru jumped in. Phailed.

Tuesday, December 28

Otome Youkai Zakuro final episode: Daidai is dead. Served her right for helping the spider bitch. I facepalmed when they couldn't harm the bitch even with their numbers. With just three words Agemaki managed to pull Zakuro back to life. Reminds me of Disney's movies really. And thus she saved the day. What happened to all the stupid vows to protect her? They ended up getting the protection. Again. The village is in ruined but Omodaka decided to stay with the dead mother but not really. AA MOAR DAKKA!!! Now with Hanadate/AA MOAR DAKKA gone, the soldiers have been relieved of their duty with the half spirits. Naturally the parting will leave everyone upset but it made for a decent final episode. I can't complain much when it comes to Agemaki and Zakuro so yeah. That's the end of it (though the soldiers were back in no time). Final verdict? I was spot on so the score remained 8.5/10 :)

AAA MOAR DAKKA!!

The best part of the whole episode

Episode 10 of Seikimatsu Occult Academy: Maya is still bothered about Akira and tried her best to help the kid. She went to Akira's dad again and this time got to hear what really happened. Apparently Akira was waiting for Santa out in the cold. That's how she ended up frozen to death. I told you Santa is evil. So they organized a Christmas party in Summer and her dad showed up as Santa. Problem solved. On the other hand, just as Abe/Mikaze was about to confess their love, the vice principal showed up but in the end both lost to Maya as Abe started to develop feelings for her as well. This is the first time I think Maya made herself vulnerable in front of Abe. Also she doesn't hate anymore now.

Wednesday, December 29

I have decided to complete Seikimatsu Occult Academy tonight. Better do it now while the story is engaging than later when I have lost interest. Watching episode 11, I had this sudden feeling that Mikaze might turn out to be some evil chick the way she's forcing herself on Abe. I mean, that was seriously a wet kiss. Also the VC might be looking out for Maya all along. And whaddaya know bingo! I was right, as usual >> The bicth was a black mage and the VC the white mage. The bitch is planning to kill Maya and Abe, being a horny SOB that he is agreed to help. Well kinda. More like he was brain-washed. I felt sorry for the VC when the bitch killed her. Maya and Abe managed to seal the bitch away in episode 12. Unfortunately though the future doesn't changed. Episode 13 revealed that everything actually depends on Abe himself. The meeting of the future him and the smaller him is the Nostradamus Key. Oh shit. He pretty much sacrificed his future for the sake of the world. Maya ended up taking care of little Abe after that. I want to see them badly towards the end of the episode though but alas. Anyhoo, that was an amazing character development for Abe not to mention some serious animation going on. I just love A1-Pictures. Final verdict: It started at 9 and will end at 9 :3

wet kiss indeed >=3

LOL at Kozue :DD

Di[e]ce chapter 11: They were riding the merry go round and Naoto definitely remember something when he saw his mother arguing with himself. He refused to tell Kazuki about it at first but after he confessed that he like him, he opened up. Now he got another clue. Off to the Ferris wheel they go. Naoto thought that he has found his mother then but Kazuki got a feeling something is not right. They ended the chapter with a cliffhanger.

BL moment alert :D

Next on the agenda is catching up Karneval. Chapter 25: Hirato had a conversation with Akari about the case from last chapter. Just as planned, the second ship where Yogi, Gareki, Jiki and Nai are will be going to Vantnam and joined with Hirato. They took the opportunity to go shopping but ended up getting hired as guards for a brat named Yanari. I think at one point Yogi wants to confess his feelings towards Gareki but got interrupted. Hmm... In chapter 27, Hirato and Tsukumo went to a meeting to investigate some shady business. It just so happened that Yanari is the son of the company that's hiring them. Hirato had to play along and manhandled Gareki. If you asked me, he just wanted an excuse to do that XD
