Aku no Hana

It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.

A Year Older: Again

It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.

Goodbye 2012 and Hallo 2013

So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.

Light Writings: Love II

I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.

Light Writings: Crush II

Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.

Bleach Trading Figures Series 4

The complete set of series 4

After work meeting on January 22, 2010 at the Roost, my boss and I head out to the Junk Sale that happened once a month along Jalan Tan Hiok Nee, Johor Bahru starting at 6pm until midnight. As you can tell from the name, this is where they sell whatever stuffs that they want to let go. Like the saying goes, one person's junk is other person's treasure. Trufax.

It just so happened that one of the uncle has Kira together with 3 other Bleach figures that I have been searching for from the other Benpresto series.

I got the four of them at half the price. Fucking w00t!!

I really love the expression. It is dead on. I also love the posture of the figures. He is kinda slouching a bit. It gave him a slightly gangsta look. I like it.

Have you notice what is wrong with this figure yet? If you said Wabisuke, you are spot on. I did not notice the zanpaktou (the lighting at Junk Sale kinda dim, only powered by the street lighting) and did not bother to check it out properly before buying it because I was uber excited. My boss basically just facepalmed when I squealed and giggled and jumped excitedly when I saw the figures. Now he knows how much of a nerd I really am >_>

It is only when I was assembling him that I noticed his zanpaktou is not of Wabisuke but Zangetsu. I guess the uncle messed up when he sold Ichigo and gave the Wabisuke to the buyer.

I might buy another Kira if I found one with Wabisuke since Wabisuke is the reason why I think Kira kinda rock.

Can you tell the other three figures that I got that night? :)

Bleach: Episode 258

So Renji and his two clowns join the K-town buddies. I am still bothered by the fact that the chimpette has a male voice but has boobs. Something just doesn't click. I have no problem with Snakey though.

Is Renji really that stupid? When he fight the three colored sword fiend, who btw is rather hot, mind you, especially with the spandex suit on err I mean to say that I can tell from the beginning that the sword fiend's weapon is kinda like boomerang and yet Renji is so stupid he didn't realize that shit and he gets raped by it.

The Spandex manages to convince Snakey of the awesomeness of being independent. I don't blame him. Chimpette is pretty cruel to him sometimes. I'm glad that in this matter, Renji used that small brain of his.

7 minutes in, I realized that this episode is dedicated to Renji and his zanpaktou. I yawned.

But then Snakey meets Karin. Anyway, anyone else thinks Karin looks like Keigo sister? Since Karin is the only one who can see him, she helps him out.

I like seeing the two of them (not) getting along though. It was refreshing instead of just straight out fighting day in and day out. I have said this countless time but I really do like interaction between characters when they are NOT fighting. I think it is essential for character development. And yes, I know I am talking shit because this is a filler. Character development is nullified in fillers.

I like the episode. It was mellowed compared to the recent one. A change of pace is good sometimes.

Events

Aight here is another random posts of mine. Another glimpse of what I do with my life and *gasp* some pictures of yours truly as well.

JOHO has organized several events since I joined in. The latest were SPAM! and Photo Outing. Needless to say that they were a huge success and I had a blast. You see, with JOHO you do not feel like you are working. Ain't that fun? XD

Thanks to JOHO, I am more adapt to social life now. It still feels awkward interacting with real people but I'm getting the hang of it (I think). The sad thing about it though is that I am no longer strapped in front of my computer 24/7 like I used to which mean less time for anime and manga =(

I guess you win some and you lose some. Though I am still going to strive harder to make sure that I fulfill my 2010 resolution!

Enough of this shitty gibberish, although this post is actually made entirely out of gibberish shit ^^

First up is SPAM! night which was held on January 31, 2010. It was a soft launch for JOHO.

JOHO crew for SPAM! night

The ladies. Did you notice how awkward I was? :P

Next is the Photo Outing. We expected less than 40 photographers to show up but the response was overwhelming. Almost close to 100 people with all sorts of camera showed up.

Group photo. More came after this photo was taken.

The crew for the outing

With the best people ^__^

this shop exists longer than I am

The empty street of Jalan Tan Hiok Nee where the Junk Sale take place once a month on Friday night

People says I have memorable hair. WTF? That better be a compliment!

Now my schedule for weekend is usually full of activities with JOHO. Just last weekend, we went to soft launch of Lost Malaya and on the next day played a traditional game of baling selipar or literally translated to 'throwing slippers'. It is one of the game we used to play when we were kids, before PlayStation or Nintendo existed. Unfortunately these traditional games were forgotten. Most of the young kids nowadays don't even know what the heck does it mean. So JOHO takes the initiative to reintroducing these games to the next generation.

Yep, that's me throwing the slippers. Beware >=D

Aight that is all the update for now. Till later events. And yes, random retarded post is a filler post.

(Please take note that all of these events were FREE)

Gateway Anime

I'm too lazy to think of another title. This post was inspired by Canne's entry. There is also a quote about "old fag" in Ryan A's entry of similar subject that pique my interest.

Warning: This post can either turn up similar to the one before it or totally unrelated to the title.

I agree with Canne. A person's gateway anime has much to do with his/her preference in anime. Take me for example. I watched Dragon Ball with my dad since I was little and it totally pulled me in on the shounen type of anime. I did watch Doraemon during the same period of time but it did not has it impact on me like Dragon Ball did. I stopped watching anime for a bit when I was in highschool. Perhaps it was the lack of sources since back then internet was rare. The best connection was the dial-up which was shitty as hell and I don't have the moolah to buy the CD (DVD? What the heck is that? LOL).

Then came Bleach. The anime is like the second gateway anime for me and it has much more impact on me than the Dragon Ball. Suddenly I was interested in anime again, and since the technology has advanced so much, I managed to watch other types of anime and learned that there are a whole lot of varieties out there to cater to the fans but the one I enjoyed the most and often fangasm about are usually the one that has action, carnage and bloodfest in it. It was the result of my gateway anime influencing my taste in not only in anime, but manga as well.

example of bloodfest: Fate/Stay Night

Whether or not it is a good thing, is up to individual. For me, because of the shounen influence, I often find myself not able to enjoy lesser anime (read: moe-shit). But that could also be due to the "old fag" term.

Once again I agree with what had been said. The anime fans of the younger generations are subjected to ecchi and moe as their gateway anime thus influencing them. Just take a look at the anime of every recent seasons. It was 80% full of those shit. Some might be decently good because of the hilarity factor but most of the time, the "old fag" suffered brain damage from such anime. I feel sorry for those who watch Chu-Bra as their gateway anime and unknowingly subjected themselves to torture. If you know someone like that, help them, please?

example of hilarity show: Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu

So basically the purpose of this post is to highlight my preference in anime/manga. Did it deviate from the title? =D

Diary of a tard - week 2, February '10

Sunday, February 7

Yay, another josei titled Zanbara. I can't resist a bishounen holding a katana. It's just too fucking sexy to ignore.

Yosh! Finally caught up with Hetalia Axis Power. 3 episodes left before this ONA is completed, no?

Watch episode 14 and 15 of Cheburashka Arere? and I gotta admit, the selling point of this 2 minutes show is it's cuteness, especially Cheburashka's voice.

A little late for the weekly anime but better late than never. Here is a secret: I usually skipped the OP and ED of an anime, even Bleach's but since the OP of Durarara!! is so freaking awesome, I sit there and listens to it with my tongue lolling =P In episode 5, it is Kida's turn to become the narrator. Apparently he too has a hot for Sonohara so love triangle FTW? Who knew that Kida was depressed before. He sure doesn't seems like the type no? I am happy to report that at least he is genuine when it comes to Mikado and for that mysterious girl who has something to do with Orihara. On different side of the city, the people were harassed by the Slasher (I suspect she's Haruna), Yagiri is eloping with that girl with the scarred neck and there's a reporter who asked who's the strongest in Ikebukuro. I REALLY like the way the story was told in this episode.

I have no freaking idea what Seikon no Qwaser (episode 3) is all about anymore... I don't remember reading the scene where Sasha titty rape Tomo in her sleep and then he did it again with that nun? WTF? Mafuyu is still trying so hard to get in his pants too. Obvious girl is annoying! It wasn't all about the oppai in the manga so I'm not used to this. I mean, they only teased about the lesbian. Wonder how that would turn up... hmm... >_> Well, at least the bloodfest kinda make up for it.

cheeky little pervert

Durarara!! chapter 6 is pretty much tells the story of how Celty lost her head and how she met Shinra. It just like how Shinra told the story in the anime but the anime omit one great information: Celty has feelings for Shinra. I goes awwwwwww =)

Saw the special of To Aru Kagaku no Railgun. WTF is the only thing that came to mind.

I have 2 weeks worth of backlog weekly anime. Time for the real thing. The only reason episode 17 of To Aru Kagaku no Railgun is tolreable was the appearance of characters from Index. Meanwhile episode 18 was so damn predictable. It also reminded me of Hanamaru Youchien. Also I think the earthquakes is a setup for future episodes.

I just realize the OP for So Ra no Wo To reminds me of Mononoke. Anyway in episode 5, things are still the same. They are still so lax. They are more like scouts rather than a troop of army. Kureha looks like she has never seen a man, Noel cracks a joke (haha), Flicia takes them out for a field trip, Rio shows them how to carry a heavy backpack (WTH) and Kanata is blah, the usual. I have a good chuckle though at some of the scenes.

Noel is so much win

Tuesday, February 9

So Ra no Wo To episode 6: I dunno what the heck is going on. Kanata gets her first paycheck so she want out shopping for presents while the others playing mobster. The two stories entertwined and that was it =\

Ladies versus Butler (episode 4 and 5): I dunno what I am doing anymore...

Wednesday, February 10

Bleach episode 257 is kinda OK. I really like the quality of the animation this week. Thumbs up for the production team :)

I is in a really shitty mood today. Time for heavy therapy: Gintama.

Thursday, February 11

Bleach chapter 392 is awesome! Momo died. Kinda XD

How convenient is it that Naruto awake at this time when Sasgay was about to proceed with his evil plan (naruto chapter 482). He pull a fast one on Mr. Wood and escape, obviously trying to save Sakura who managed to shake the others in her suicide mission and declared that she wants to leave Kanoha and join the gay bastard. I say that its good. She needs to be dead. Just like Karin who apparently is not dead yet :(

Durarara!! chapter 7: Holy fucking shit.... I'm speechless when I found out who the Dollars members are O_o I also learned few things that are yet to be revealed in the anime. For example, Yagiri incestship and what happened to Anri's friend. Awesome!

I almost forgot that I have K-ON! Special: Live House! on my disk. I guess I didn't give it any priority much. It was good seeing Ritsu again. I kinda missed her. She makes this otherwise shitty anime OK for me. And it is also good to see the girls take the performing seriously instead of the usual gibberish of tea and shit. They began to understand after looking at other bands and how committed they are. And I am actually excited for Ritsu (since the others were fucking useless with their moe-ness). I just wish they showed us a bit more of the performance. Shit, am I turning moe too? This got 6/10

This the the logo for Aftershcool Teatime. More like a logo fitted for a coffee shop >_>

OMG Spice and Wolf II Special is fucking boring!! It fucking reminds me of Isshoni Training. NOT a good thing. 4/10

Seikon no Qwaser episode 4, the uncensored version. OK explain this to me. What the fuck is up with all the screaming whenever someone sucks your tits? It's fucking annoying and I don't give a damn if your answer is because you were aroused. That's making it more annoying, you bitches! And seriously Shasha's role turned out to be so fucking retarded. Saving girls from titties rape? What kind of job scope is that? BULLSHIT!!

Don't say that AFTER you licked other girl's pussy, you hentai!

I saw Two Walnuts or Futatsu no Kurumi. Not a bad war episode. I actually shed a tear at some of the war scene. Full review coming up soon.

Friday, February 12

Was browsing through danbooru when I found this picture:

Needless to say, I was intrigued. When I found out that it was from a manga Togainu no Chi, I don't waste any time to check it out. It is pretty badass with promise on hand-to-hand combat battle and bloodfest.

Happy Chinese New Year to those who celebrate it :)

Anime: Spring 2010 v2

Yes, version 2. The better one from chartfag.

This one made my day. I am already interested in RAINBOW and House of Five Leaves just by reading the synopsis. Senko no Night Raid does not look to bad either but I'm not sure about the whole Shang-hai mafia business. One more anime that I think falls under the dark theme/mystery/histological category is of course Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan. The synopsis kinda make it sounds like a female version of Shrek though =\

On to the shounen/action anime. The first one on the list is Ironman. That's definitely something to look forward to, a collaboration between Marvel and Madhouse. The animation looks slick enough to pique my interest. Heroman kinda reminds me of X'amd. Get this though. It's another collaboration. This time of Stan Lee and Bones. I already liked Stan Lee's collaboration with Hirayuki Takei in Ultimo. So this hopefully is something very promising for my taste. Besides, X'amd is cool. And I can't call myself a Gundam fans so I wouldn't know what are the fans reaction on SD Gundam Sangokuden. I am still going to check it out though. Chibi Gundam is cute ^^

Here comes the sports, sequels and none-moe category. I am a huge fan of Ookiku Furikabutte so obviously the sequel is on top of my list. Yojo-han Shinwa Taikei looks promising. A nameless protagonist? Heh, awesome. Not to mention the art style. It definitely pops up. I am going to watch Arakawa under the Bridge just because it looks so retard and because it is from Shaft. APH season 3, lol will it ever going to end? Giant Killing reminds me of One Outs and Oofuri. I will check it out but not sure if I'll follow it week to week. Also I is overly excited for Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitte Iru. Have you seen the synopsis? A promise of yaoi AND incest! w00t!!

Let see the moe/slice of life category that I am probably going to watch. I start it off with Working! I dunno why but I think I'm going to like the show. I might be wrong though. Then there's Angel Beats because one of my anime friends is damn excited about it. I have never watch Da Capo but I have all the DVDs so I might download the show for future watch. This is the show fifth season if I'm not mistaken. Didn't know it was so famous. The same goes for Ikkitousen (still regret my decision to buy the DVD). I haven't seen the third season so I'm gonna download this just because. K-ON 2. Don't ask. Last but not least is Yutari-chan because the "first anime disributed by e-mail" tag intrigued me.

Shows that I want to avoid but will still check it out because I am a tard are the ecchi shit: Kiss x Sis, Mayoi Neko Overun!, Kaicho wa Maid-sama!, B Gata H Kei and Ichiban Ushiro no Dai Maou.

Since I don't follow Major, Shin Koihime Musou, Bakugan and Ring ni Kakero, these four will not be on my list. Hime-chen! won't be on it either because it looks stupid.

Let's move to the OVA and Specials. BRS is going to be release and let see if the hype match the quality of the OVA. The other one I look forward to is Ai no Kusabi the remake. Is so turn on atm especially with a title such as Sex Pistol. hahahahaha

So any of these anime are of interest to you?
