It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.
It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.
So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.
I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.
Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.
I received a shocking news yesterday when a friend of mine called me around 3pm telling me that our beloved Sultan has passed away. The news however weren't confirmed until later that night when I was outside, having a meeting with friends at the Roost.
It was a sad occasion for all Johorean for he was the best Sultan around. He was legendary with his rather epic antics and famous for his mix-match of baju melayu with slacks that has become a trend for the other Johorean. He didn't seems to follow the protocol of the castle. I am not exaggerating when I said that he was the most Rock n Roll Sultan in history. He sometimes addressed himself and others with just 'aku' and 'kau' ('I' and 'You') instead of 'Beta' ('We' or 'Us'). His flamboyant lifestyle may caused discomfort (he carried a gun on his waist when he went out in public. EPIC) but at least he was not hypocrite about it unlike the others. Having said that, he often reminded his people of our independence so that we would cherish the freedom. This can be witness through his patriotic speeches. He was also the last Sultan that has the power of daulat.
He passed away at 7:15pm on January 22, 2010 at the age of 77. He has been the Sultan of Johor since 1984. I was 3 years old back then.
So here, I pay my respect for Al-Marhum DYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Almutawakkil Alallah, Sultan Iskandar Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Ismail. Al-Fatihah.

After three episodes, I must say that Saikyou is the only reason why I even bother with this show. The prospect of evil things she might do to Hiro excites me. Or maybe I just want Hiro to end up inside her pants, is all.
And yet, why is Shinji doing all the talking? So now he's the representative of the shinigami? What happened to the old fuck Yamaji? No, the more appropriate question is this: WHERE THE FUCK IS HE?
Toushiro was the first to attack Aizen. That was unexpected. Then Shunsui appeared. So it was 2 on 1. Then Komamura joined in before the rest of the Vaizards took action.

I am glad that they were aware that this is a battle of survival. This means that they did not underestimating Aizen. Underestimating the God would be fatal.

I chuckled at Toushiro's attempt to school Aizen about what it takes to be a captain. He said something like "using the blade of hatred is just violence". Did he forget how pissed he was when Aizen insta-kill Hinamori. Oops, looks like Aizen did not forget about that. You got owned Toushiro! LOL
And what do you know, that words were enough to push Toushiro off the edge. Oh man... this is funny.

I like this week chapter. With only 20 pages Kubo can only rammed so much. I don't think he dragged this one out. Actually, I think the pace is very appropriate. For those who complained, need I remind you that we are talking about Aizen here people! The fight is meant to be EPIC. Epic fight will not be done in just a few chapters. I would be pissed if it does. I mean, I have not even seen Gin yet. Oh Gin *dreamy eyes*
I am also happy to know that Hiyori is in good hands now :)

See that blob of a thing? That's the fucker. Like I said, PLOTKAI to the extreme. Apparently he became the portal/Garganta and keeps importing menos to the real world. Kurosaki Ichigo is in the middle of that blob thingy. I'm sure he'll burst open the shit when the time has come for him to make a re-entrance.

In the end, this filler arc that has so much potential turned to shit. I wonder if they changed director in the middle of the arc because the vast difference between first half and the second half were too apparent.

Having said all that, I have to say that the end of this episode is pretty cool I guess when the shinigami combines their reiatsu to push back the menos.
Switch is a collaboration manga between Otoh Saki (story) and Tomomi Nakamura (art). Together they are known simply as the Naked Ape.
Switch featured the criminal investigator Kai Etou and his partner Hal Kurobayashi. These two do not see eye to eye, or I should say that Hal appeared to be very annoyed with Kai. They have totally opposite personalities so that's probably why. However as they work together, they created a bond between partners which run pretty deep.
Both of them are part of the Narcotic Control Department or Matori and their goal is to catch the Ryuugen, the most elusive drug dealer ever. So far Sawaki, one of the Ryuugen front men, has made himself known to Hal. This only increased Hal's determination to catch Sawaki and both the Right Arm and the Left Arm men of Ryuugen. Together with their comrades, Hal and Kai solve case after case hoping that it would get them closer to Ryuugen and crack the mystery behind [switch].
Hal can be considered the ace of the Matori. He is cool, smart and aloof and pretty much perfect as a cop. He is the kind of guy that won't make mistake in an investigation and who is not afraid of death if it means that he can get the work done.
Etou on the other hand screwed up a lot and caused the department substantial lost when it comes to catching their targeted criminals. But once he gets serious you don't want to be his enemy. He's like the police's psycho resident. The manga is yet to reveal what the deal is with his split personalities though. Even Hal is in the dark about it. The only one who might has the slightest idea about it is Hiki.
There are other interesting characters as well, like Sawaki. He's a badass badass. Very elusive and the only one who escaped from Hal. That gotta say something about him. There is Ibu, the self-proclaimed front man for Intelligence Department but he really does do most of the work. There is also this chic Mari who is an excellent drug appraisal expert. She has a crush on Kai. And then there are Keigo Kajiyama and Hiki Masataka. Keigo is the Chief of the 1st Division of Matori. Hiki is the big boss of Matori. He might be smiling all the time but he's very sly and you don't want to mess with him. He reminded me of Aizen.
I like the art. If I do not I would not have picked up the manga in the first place. However, the translator sucks sometimes. Sometimes I need to read twice to get what was going on in a panel. It has nothing to do with Otoh's story writing. I am just ranting because it can be frustrated at times.
Hal: my favorite character of [switch]
I recommended Switch to some of my friends and for whatever reason, they said they kinda read shounen-ai in between the lines. I said WTF?! because there is no BL in this manga. We even have Mari trying to get in Kai's pants all the time and Hal always pulls the ladies-man persona whenever he's undercover. So seriously, WTH man... I'm a big yaoi fans and if I can't detect any BL in this one, it means that it has NONE!

The 7th installment of Kara no Kyoukai is the second part of the 2nd installment with the same title: Satsujin Kousatsu. I purposely started with the first part of the movie (the 2nd installment) in order to refresh myself with the story and before I knew it, I have re-watched all the six previous movies of Kara no Kyoukai. Thus that is why this review was delayed.
On to the review!
Oh hell yesh! Shiki remembers the day they first met! w00t!!
And fucking hell, they showed us what really happened on the night Shiki attempted to murder Kokuto! I absolutely did not expect THAT. So that's how she went into a coma. What the... *faps*

Series of murders started again after four years. The victims had the same characteristics as the murders that happened four years ago when Shiki was the prime suspect. Kokuto who has always believed in Shiki tried all that he can to look after Shiki but he can only do so much. He even investigated the drug Bloodchip that are being distributed in the city, further endangering his safety.
Little that he knows that Shiki had regained her memories of the incident four years ago. So what did Shiki do? She left and started to get brutal. She fights with one hand in her pockets and have no problem taking care of four grown men...
Despite all that, just like Kokuto, I still believe that Shiki is innocent and her goes missing is because she wants to find the real culprit and perhaps enlightens her heart so that she can accept that Kakuto really loves her despite all her faults.

Throughout the entire length of the movie, I was totally afraid and worried of Kokuto's safety. It felt like he could get murdered at any given time. It scares the shit out of me.
Especially when Shirazumi confirmed his attention =\

Just when I thought things have calm down a little, the movie throws another punch and it goes directly to my core. Holy fuck. I was literally breathless when Kokuto found the diary and started to read it. HOLY FUCKING FUCK. He was practically in the lion's den!
I started to fucking cry for no apparent reason when he said this. Actually the whole conversation made me cried =\
What comes after that are just pure fangasm worthy. I would have ruined it if I put it in words. It won't do justice at all. It just... something that I have never experienced before after all these years of watching anime.
I think Kara no Kyoukai is definitely the best project of ufotable and if I was not a fan before, I sure am now. I got my jaw hanging from start to finish, absolutely sitting at the edge of my seat, sweating from goosebumps and anxieties. It fucking blows my mind away. Not to mention all those countless bloodfests made me effing fangasm.
Also, this movie made me realized why I chose to stay single. I might not seems like it but I kinda write romance for a living (besides my daily job) and the kind of romance I have been writing are the same kind as Kara no Kyoukai's Mikiya and Shiki. I have pretty much have this idea that romance surrounded by fucked up circumstances is ideal romance. So in conclusion I am probably gonna stay single for the rest of my life unless someone like Shiki comes along and sweep me off of my feet. Or Gintoki, or Grimmjow or Zero or... and the list goes on.

the fighting sequences as always were freaking amazing
10 out of 10 is not what I had in mind. This movie definitely exceeded that rank so I'm gonna give it extra stars to go along with the 10 because it was FUCKING EPIC!!
