Aku no Hana

It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.

A Year Older: Again

It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.

Goodbye 2012 and Hallo 2013

So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.

Light Writings: Love II

I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.

Light Writings: Crush II

Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.

Aku no Hana

Well now, where should I start...

I was couple of weeks late into the series. When everyone was done hyping and spazzing about Aku no Hana, I was just about to check out the first episode. When I saw the animation, it was definitely something that is not the norm. It's like they filmed a real life dorama and then animated it frame by frame. Needless to say, I was impressed. It makes the animation so alive and gives so much personality to the characters. Take the walking of each character for example. Simple things like that, in my opinion, what makes Aku no Hana, in term of arts and animation, so much win.

And then there's the story itself, which is, if not entirely original, it sure is close. Aku no Hana means the Evil Flower in English. It derives from Takao Kasuga's favorite book. He is the male protagonist of this series by the way. The book is complicated and deep as shit, and triggered some very twisted, evil and sinister thoughts. Takao did quote some of the work inside the book earlier in the episode but after the third episode, the story itself takes the center stage.

I personally believe that the story/plot only started when they introduced Nakamura Sawa, the female protagonist who is so fucking original, I fell for her in an instant. She is like the book itself, triggering dark thoughts. Whenever she takes off her glasses, and she only did so with Kasuga, you know she means business.

Nakamura, in Kasuga's mind, is someone who is lonely and is fighting not to drown in this mundane world. Kasuga, for Nakamura, is someone that is similar to her but is afraid for the others to find out. Her mission is to make Kasuga comes out of his hentai closet.

Nakamura Sawa, to put it simply, reminds me so much of  myself that she becomes my muse. Oh, and I think she is awesome as fuck which is why she deserved to be in my most favorite characters list XD

Everything about Aku no Hana is twisted. The ED especially will give you the creep but at the same time so addictive. The somewhat fucked-up OP too is pretty telling that this series is not your average anime series.

There are couple of episodes that left me speechless but I'm sure everyone will agree that nothing can actually prepare you for the greatness of the ending of episode seven. It was liberating in more ways than one, not only for the protagonist but also for me personally as an audience. Then there's episode ten where Kasuga was once again got stripped by Nakamura. The revelation that he had however what makes the episode so enjoyable for me.

At the end of every episode of Aku no Hana, I often felt somewhat hollowed. It makes  me craving for more. It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone. I forced my minions to watch it and as predicted they got hooked on it too. They all agree that watching this show is an experience in itself. I guess it helps people coming to terms with their own inner demon, if they have any.

Some people may have complains about the pacing of this show. Well, I don't. I thought it was necessary for the build up of, most often than not, a heart-pumping-fist-in-the-air, ending of each episode. Having said that, their avant-garde ending of the show kind of left me in a blur. I had to watch it for a couple of time to get what it was trying to say. It was all bunched up together incoherently. You either love it or hate it.

I do hope they are not trolling us with the hint of Part 2 of this show. While waiting for that, I am going to make sure that I pick up the manga for reading. It's just that good.

Aku no Hana... a show that I expected nothing from but get everything and more. I love every minute of it.

p/s: did you know that I have the same moles on my face just like Nakamura's. One on my left cheek and the other on my chin. Talk about coincidence!

Diary of a tard: Week 3, June 2013

Monday, June 17

Shingeki no Kyojin episode 10: More of Armin being heroic this time around, just to convince us (and himself) that he's actually useful. Well, at least he has saved Eren from getting executed by that useless cowardly officer. That and Pixis decision to spare all three of them their lives in condition that Eren help with stopping the other Titan from entering the wall by putting the big boulder in the wall. Eren said he will do it though I doubt he has self control when he becomes a Titan. Let just wait and see.

Episode 11 of Aku no Hana: the pacing for the third half of this episode is killing me but once it pick up, it was exhilarating. It has been a month since the incident of them trying to run away from the town (or at least Nakamura and Kasuga did). Kasuga finally broke up with Saeki properly but obviously he feels hollowed and empty inside. Then he has an epiphany through his dream. He realized that Saeki would be alright but Nakamura will suffer because she has no one else in this world but him. Yeah, I squealed =3

Wednesday, June 19

So the humans proceed with the plan to reconquer the land in episode 11 of Shingeki no Kyojin. As expected, some shows extreme fear of being eaten by the titans but Pixis reassured them with his speech and all is well again. Armin went with the decoy team while Mikasa joined the elitist to protect Eren. The plan seems flawless but once Eren became a titan, the first thing he did was attack Mikasa. Heh...

First Impression: Love Live! School Idol Project

Those who are close to me know that this is definitely not  my kind of anime but guess what, I ended up liking it.

Yeah, I surprised myself sometimes too.

Maybe because none of the girls annoyed me yet.

(c) Yui (Rogusouku)

Anyhoo, it is pretty much about girls  trying to save their school from closing down by getting together and created an idol group so that their school become popular, get more enrollment and BAM!

I dunno what that BAM! is supposed to be.

But yeah, I'm watching this whenever I feel like killing ponies.

First Impression: Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge

I wasn't sure why didn't I put this anime in the anishit list when I first wrote the preview. I mean, reading the synopsis made me facepalm. An anime about hair is somewhat sounds so pretentious to me and for some reason I somewhat dreading this shit.

Let see if I'm right and that this is going to be one hairy ride.

that loli ass
10 minutes in I know I won't like this show at all so I decided to drop it altogether. Though it wasn't bad, it wasn't good either. Plus I don't understand shit (or my brain refused to do so).

I was right.

Anime: Summer 2013

Summer is upon us. There will be influx of supposedly good/great movies at the cinema but who cares about that when we have anime. Here is the preview of summer anime by yours truly. By the way, it feels good getting back on the routine of blogging :)

As usual, I'm using my preview template for this shit, because I'm lazy as fuck. Even the previous sentence was copied from the previous preview for Spring heh.

Disclaimer: I'm basing my opinion on the synopsis of the shows. They are pretty telling at times but can be totally misleading at some other times too.

So here goes.

MUST WATCH:
  • I am a classy biased motherfucker so it is only natural that Servant x Service will be in my must watch list even though the title is very suggestive of a genre that I usually rage upon. All simply because this show is produced by A-1 Pictures.
  • Looking forward to Gin no Saji: Silver Spoon as well for the same reason. A1-Picture produced this show damn it!
  • Whoever who does not looking forward to Genshiken Nidaime is a retard.
  • I don't think I need to explain myself why Free! is in my must watch list. This is like... the source of bOnar for me for the summer.

ANIME WITH POTENTIAL:

  • Ah, Monogatari Series Second Season is a good reminder for me to watch the first one.
  • I like what I see with Uchouten Kazoku and since it's comedy, I have somewhat an expectation.
  • Finally I saw something that perks my interest. Blood Lad is definitely one of the anime that I look forward to this season simply because, well, I have weird fetish.
  • Lately I have become a fan of slice-of-life so Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaete mo Omaera ga Warui! definitely sounds like something that  I would enjoy for the simple fact that the protagonist looks like a geek fuckard.
  • Brain Base's latest anime, Brothers Conflict, is obviously about incest. I don't care if it's not of the same father/mother. Incest is incest. I might like this. Uguuuu~
  • Season 3 of Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai. I enjoyed the first two season so I hope this third season will deliver as well.
  • I would like to see how the fans of Fate/Stay Night would react to the spinoff: Fate/kaleid line Prisma☆Illya. It would be awesome if ufotable would produced this but oh well.

AVERAGE ANIME:
  • I used to watch Kingdom until my computer was stolen which mean I lost great deal of anime episodes with it as well. I guess I just have to skip Kingdom season 2 then...
  • I wasn't sure whether or not I have the first season of Tamayura. It is somewhat feels familiar. I doubt that I have time for Tamayura ~More Aggressive~ though. Maybe I'll just take a sneak peak of the first episode to get the first impression about this show.
  • I bet Kimi no Iru Machi will have cliche plot. Girl A invade Boy's life > Boy is annoyed with Girl A > Boy in love with Girl B > Somewhat at the end Boy fall for Girl A.
  • Gen'ei Kakeru Taiyou is targeted to all the lolicons. It looks too childish for my taste.
  • I know I have Symphogear season somewhere or maybe I have lost it when my computer was stolen last year. I doubt that I will be bothered with Senki Zesshou Symphogear G though. It wouldn't be fair if I throw the show into the anishit list so lets put it here with the rest of the average anime.
  • Another anime targeted for the lolicon. If the comedy in Kin-iro Mosaic is something that I can laugh at then I'll probably gonna like this show otherwise it has potential to be in my anishit list.
  • I haven't seen Senyuu and suddenly second season is here. Was it good?
  • "Dolls" that can fight and can power up? I'm telling myself not to fall for the art that accompany the synopsis because I have a feeling that Fantasista Doll is going to be another ridiculous show that targeted to the male audience.
  • Even Teekyuu has a second season? Haha, okay this show is somewhat funny however I still can't justified why did it get another season.
  • Shoujo-ai anime of the season, Love Lab, is definitely not my kind of anime but I'm sure it's not bad.
  • I have problem trying to digest the plot for Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou. There are too much going on; a boy, book, dog, scissors and a sadistic novelist. It can't be that bad, can it?
  • The plot doesn't seem so bad and even has potential to be good. But looking at the studio and the style of animation, I doubt that Danganronpa Kibou no Gakuen to Zetsubou no Koukousei can deliver.
  • Toukurei Sochi Dantai Stella Jo-Gakuin Koutou-ka C3-Bu is a story centers around high school girls ("who looks super good in mini skirts") - Wait what? FFFFFF-
  • The plot is illogical but meh this is anime where anything is possible. I don't like emo girls who thinks she's superior to any other human being so  I might end up not liking Rozen Maiden at all, even more so when the male protagonist sounds like someone that can be pushed around by the said girl.
  • I still have problem understanding why when student don't want to join any after school activities join club that somewhat created for that purpose. For example, Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku this season. They better have some strong characters otherwise I'll be raging all the way.
  • The characters look cute enough but it's some sort of a mecha anime so I don't think I will go loco for Gatchaman Crowds, especially since it looks like the pilots are mainly loli.
  • All I see are bishies so I might end up liking Makai Ouji: Devils and Realist for that. LOL I wish I am that shallow of a fan.
  • Yay, another lolicon anime. Ro-Kyuu-Bu! SS got a second season. I cannot brain >_>
  • Since it is produced by Madhouse, I saw a glimpse of hope for Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi. Having said that, reading the plot kinda eliminate all hopes LOL

ANISHIT:
  • Jeebus, why the hell did they make a sequel for Recorder to Randoseru Mi ☆
  • Second season of High school DxD? How about NO?
  • Saying no to Futari wa Milky Holmes as well.
  • Didn't enjoy the first season because it's too shoujo-ish for my liking. I doubt the second season of Hakkenden-Touhou Hakken-Ibun would be any different.
  • Chou Jigen Game Neptune the Animation is the ecchi anime of the season it seems. The genre is enough to put me off.

As for the movies, I look forward to the following:
  • Hal
  • Kick-Heart because Production IG produced it. Yep, just like that.
  • Same goes for Arise-Ghost in the Shell-border: 1 Ghost Pain
  • And ZOMG Gintama's movie FUCKING WANT!
  • Studio Ghibli's Kaze Tachinu
  • Holy shit A1-Pictures is coming up with Ano hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku-taichi wa Mada Shiranai movie? AWWW YISSSS

That's all folks!

Diary of a tard: Week 2, June 2013

Aku no Hana episode 10: it was intense as fuck. Throughout the episode I kept wishing that Saeki got hit by a lorry or something and die. Kasuga and Nakamura's plan to go beyond the hill was flawless until she showed up. She ruined everything. Kasuga, when put on a spotlight, has no idea who to choose. It was obvious that he longs for Nakamura. He didn't even resist (much) when Nakamura stripped him naked. When Saeki told him that she doesn't him being a pervert and shit, Nakamura walked away. I squealed when Kasuga ran to her to stop her. The best drama right there!
