Aku no Hana

It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.

A Year Older: Again

It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.

Goodbye 2012 and Hallo 2013

So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.

Light Writings: Love II

I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.

Light Writings: Crush II

Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.

Kimi to Boku: Episode 4

I still don't like Chizuru. He is just annoying and I don't give a crap about his friendship with Yuuki. In fact I don't like him precisely because of that. I guess if there's nothing you can do about something, you get jealous and envious for the thing you wish you could have obtained. That's exactly how I feel about Chizuru.

(c) Nico65

I also don't like the fact that he kind of take the helm for group activities. The reason I loved Kimi to Boku in the first place is because of the bond these four kids have with each other. Adding Masaki or Chizuru ruined that though I assumed the whole purpose of this show is for these four boys to deeper their bond and connect with new people as well >_>

As you can probably tell, I love my circle of friends however small it is. I don't appreciate new people coming in and act as if they have known all of us all his/her life. That's being pretentious and I hate that kind of people the most. So what if you get married to my best friend? Before there's YOU, they are US. Get that in that thick skull of yours.

*cough* Sorry I get carried away lol

Anyhoo, back to episode 4 of Kimi to Boku, Chizuru's over the top attitude is really pissing me off. The fact that he's obviously gay for Yuuki just kinda throws me off the edge. Can I kill him now?

Kaname is the narrator for this episode. I love it when he starts reminiscing about their childhood at the kindergarten, just the four of them being precocious kids that they were. The twins with their tendency for trouble and Kaname for his affection for his kindergarten teacher. No wonder Kaname seemed so distant with Koichi-sensei. He was jealous of him since pre-school. As for Shun... well, he's just that flowery type of boy.

The day Koichi-sensei went to their kindergarten was the day Kaname got his heart broken. The very same day that he sorta admires Koichi-sensei too. Heh, kids are so gullible, aren't they? That what makes them so innocent ^_^

d'aawwwwww :3

Because of the mixers party that Chizuru set up, Kaname had fallen ill, no thanks to the rain. Yuuki, Yuuta, Shun and Chizuru decide to pay him a visit. It was nice to see that boys will be boys no matter what. Instead of making Kaname feels better, they just stressed him out even more. His mother isn't any help either, embarrassing Kaname by treating him like they were having an incest relationship. lmao what a cool motherfucker hahahahha

Yuuki and Yuuta obviously relish this moment and thus Kaname won't hear the end of it.

Not only that, Kaname's neighbor a.k.a childhood friend Hisako also barges in when she heard that Kaname is sick. It looks like Hisako, Kaname and her older sister is having a love triangle of some sort. I can't wait to see how that will be played out. Yosh!

Despite all the fun, there are quite few special moments throughout the episodes that makes me appreciate this show. For instance, Shun, though he's quiet and seems like someone you can push around, is actually quite observant. He notices that Kaname doesn't relies on other but he is someone you can rely on. That just goes to show how important and good a friend he is.

threesome YES PLEASE!

Oh man, I freaking love this show ♥

Persona 4 The Animation: Episode 3

I'm not happy that I'm late for this episode but that what happened when I traveled; my schedule often fucked up and I don't always have reliable internet connection. I remember back in February when I was at Bandung, Indonesia, this blog hardly got any update and my reader stats plummeted. I'm still trying to recover from it. Anyway...

Yousuke's Persona is known as Magician Arcanum and the power of his Persona depends on the bond between him and Yuu. Or that's how I understand it as it was explained in the Velvet Room.

Chie's kick: you don't see it coming

When Chie can't contacted Yukiko, she came running to school to meet Yuu and Yousuke. She had reasons to worried since all three of them thought they saw Yukiko in the Midnight Channel the night before. Chie was obviously distressed about it. Yukiko has been her friends since they were a child.

They all went to the store again to check things out but Kuma (the bear) said he didn't sense anyone else in that other dimension. They were skeptical and so they decided to check the Midnight Channel again tonight and whadda ya know... Once again Yukiko appeared, seemingly ready to give up her virginity as she searched for her prince.

So the three of them decided to meet up the next day when Yousuke brought fake swords with him which aroused suspicion from the public and authority. I can't help but laughed at his idiocy. If I found his comic relief rather annoying at first, it has begin to grow on me.

I am aroused as well lol

Yuu and Yousuke were brought in to the police station for questioning. After all two murders happened not too long ago. They have to be careful.

Chie waited for them at the police station and what they feared happened: Yukiko has gone missing. The police suspected her as the murderer which made Chie lost her self control and made her determined to save Yukiko and clean her name. So they went inside and arrived at the place where Yukiko was last seen in the Midnight Channel. Even Kuma agreed that Yukiko was there.

Since Chie didn't wear the glasses, she was oblivious to all the shadows around her so it was up to Yousuke and Yuu to summon their Persona and saved the day. Just like Yousuke, Chie too heard voices of Yukiko and then her other self appeared too. Basically Chie had to go down the same route as Yousuke to obtain her Persona. Because I've seen it before, it became quite bothersome and borderline cliche.

But she served her purpose. In the moment of distressed Yuu learned that he was the chosen one thus he received an Arcuna where he can wield more than one Persona. That was how we gotta meet Pyro Jack.

yes, the one to pierce through my bad Barnivall. Man, that joke never gets old lol

In the end, they didn't manage to find Yukiko but Chie has her Persona so the rescue mission will be more fun to watch. At least I hope it will be.

Interestingly I can see the changes in Yuu. He was quiet and seemingly uncaring in the first episode but as he bonds with Yousuke and Chie, he starts to chat more and even developing sense of humor. I loved the quiet Yuu but hell I love a funny Yuu even more! He's so smooth :D

so subtle :D

As I see it, Persona deals a lot with bonds and friendships. I think it was a good concept overall because no matter how egoistic a bastard can be, s/he still needs friend be it imaginary, real or online. We can't live in this damn world of ours without forming a bond with someone. It is just part as human nature. I won't delve much into this since @fkeroge already did so you peeps better read what he has to say about it.

Fate/Zero: Episode 4

The fight between Lancer and Saber resumed. Interestingly Saber admits that Lancer has a pretty face. Hmm, too bad you have to kill him, huh? Once again Ufotable fucking blows my mind away with the quality of the fight. Needless to say, I sorta wet my pantsu watching them exchanging blows after blows of awesomeness. It truly is a fight fit for the King of Knights.

Both Lancer and Saber has their own advantages. Saber couldn't figure out which one of Lancer's spear is the Noble Phantasm and she can't predict which spear will move first, whether the longer or the shorter one. As for Lancer, he isn't sure how long Saber's sword really is so he can't be too close when attacking out of fear that it will bite him back in the ass.

Rider and Waver aren't the only one who are watching the fight. Emiya and Maiya are there too and they both noticed that someone, possibly Lancer's Master, has put up a barrier. Emiya has no problem locating Lancer's master Kayneth (that professor of Waver) and just as he is about to take him down, he notices Assassin. He is wise enough not to let Maiya fight the Assassin at the moment since she is no match for them. I think it was kinda retarded that Assassin can be spotted that easily. Is it a trap? Aren't they supposed to be the master in hiding? Failed much, Assassin?

The Assassin reports straight to Kirei who in turn reports to Tokiomi. These two and their dirty schemes... >_>

Halfway through the fight, Lancer's Master issues Lancer an order to finish the fight and eliminate Saber as soon as possible. He even allowed Lancer to use his Noble Phantasm, which turns out is his longer spears.

dayyum dat mole! Hhhnnnnnnggghhhhhh ♥

You call it Noble Phantasm because it's special. With just one clash of their spear and sword, Lancer can figure out the sword that Saber is using, which in turn will expose Saber's true name as well.

Jeebus, Lancer and his spear should be deemed illegal. They are mentally raping the women (read: ME)

Don't lie, you are thinking of /his/ measurement, aren't you?

Saber has it rough. She planned her attack but she's the one getting wounded. But thanks to that Saber manages to figure out that the red blade (Gae Derg) of Lancer's spear canceled out magic (and later found out that the yellow spear (Gae Buide) inflicts wound that none can recover from). Since Saber's armor is made of magic, she takes them off and fight Lancer with only her clothes on. Very bold and obviously this turns Lancer on. Heh.

The fight is not going to end so easily though. Both Saber has severed a tendon and thus only one hand can be used in the fight. If that's not enough, Rider and Waver decide to join them. Well, Rider more so than Waver since he doesn't want to miss the opportunity to fight with the best.

*facepalm*

Oh jeebus, Scamp was right. Fate/Zero does sorta turn out to be Rider/Waver adventure and it pissed me off because I don't like either one of them. I do not appreciate the fact that Rider interrupted the epic fight for his own satisfaction. Now episode 5 has no choice but to be exceptional to make up for this stupid development. Maybe we finally get to see Kiriya and Berserk? That would be great!

p/s: Lancer's name is Diarmuid of the Love Spot, Knights of Fianna. I checked out wiki and he was definitely a knight who caused major b0nar because of his love-spot. Lucky man indeed.

Mononoke

I was first acquainted with Kusuriuri when I saw him in Bakeneko arc (eps. 9-11) in Ayakashi ~ Japanese Classic Horror. When I learned that it will get it own series as a sequel, I made sure that I get hold of it.

You cannot talk about Mononoke if you do not talk about the art. Just like its predecessor, the animators, Toei Animation do not afraid to experiment with the art. It has its own distinct style of animation. It was part of the reason that got me hooked right away. It is very different, in a very good bold and imaginative kinda way. Seriously, it was tantalizing and gorgeously unique! They compensate the two dimensional, almost paper-cut appearance with vibrant and captivating colorful backgrounds, textures and designs. In a sense, it makes you feel like you are part of a very beautiful painting. They definitely used the art to its full potential to present and distinguished the stories. It also used a lot of camera movements to add suspense and with a well control pace it has successfully exact the desired tension.

Mononoke is composed of 5 different stories which are only related to Kusuriuri, the medicine seller, our mysterious protagonist. Each story takes 2-3 episodes which features a different supernatural, more often than not, evil spirit or most commonly known as mononoke. It was up to Kusuriuri (who is a total bishie by the way) to vanquish or exorcise the mononoke. In order to do so, he needs to uncover the Katachi (shape/form), Makoto (truth), and Kotowari (reason) of the spirit. However it isn't always about the dead. Each story delved deep to the heart of everything and it is not surprising when everything that occurred is related to the living.

Kusuriuri is the only constant character in the series. His attraction is definitely lies in his demeanour, which is very unique whichever way you look at it, not to mention mysterious. Very mysterious. Some of his deadpan sarcastic comments will certainly makes you laugh at the oddest of time. He is a character that you could not help but like. In my case, fell in love with. He is one of the unforgettable characters out there.

The other characters vary with each stories but still get a decent development due to the nature of the story despite being 2-3 episodes in length. These characters are not the typical type characters (as in do not expect good looking characters). They were designed with the story in mind and the ingenuity of it in my opinion, worked wonders.

The appropriate sound effects (or lack of it) enhance the whole eerie atmosphere. The silence in most scenes does most of the work to creep you out. The voice actors did a job well done too, especially with those screeches and screams of horror. As for the OP and ED, I don't find it interesting but I guess it fits right in with the weird tune of the whole show.

This is one of the anime that I won't get tired of watching again and again. I give it a 10 for enjoyment.

The enticing, attention-grabbing, well written stories and the excellent directing and editing makes Mononoke a masterpiece. A must watch to all anime lovers/appreciators. If that is not good enough reason for you to pick up this series, maybe a threat to shove a foot up your ass can convince you otherwise?

First Impression: Mashiro-Iro Symphony

ve heard a lot of crap regarding this show but I am feeling a bit generous today and will give this shit the benefit of a doubt. It is after all what a first impression post is supposed to be. Having said that, bear in mind that this show is a harem show which I usually ended up loathing unless they have strong characters line-up and a solid story/plot.

Mashiro-Iro Symphony is none of that. It was too stupid and full of the cliche that I fucking hate so much. Uryuu Shingo is the lucky son of a bitch for this harem. He wasn't exactly terribad but I rather see a character with personality who doesn't have some incestship going on with his sister. Taking a bath together when both of you is old enough to have babies is wrong unless you are characters from Yosuga no Sora. How did he happen to have a harem? He and few others from Kagamidai Private School have become the test students to attend Yuijo Private Academy that will soon open their gate for boys as well. Sena Airi, who Uryuu and Sakuno met a day before leads the anti-boys movement. Here comes the 'twist' though. She is obviously tsundere for Uryuu. Oh shit, 'conflict'!

Oh dear... I can pretty much tell how bad this is going to be. I want to drop this shit so bad but I found myself rooting for Airi to score with Uryuu. I want them making babies right away.

I'm all for these to happen!

Something is obviously wrong with me >_>

I guess I will watch a few more episodes and see if I would ended up with foaming mouth for raging too much. So for the time being I will watch this shit for Airi's sake.

First Impression: Mirai Nikki

I read the manga once but I honestly can't remember the details of what the story is all about. It should be good otherwise I wouldn't have picked it up. After observing the aniblogsphere it seems like asread is doing a better job adapting this series that AIC did with Maken-ki!

Gasai Yuno

Mirai Nikki is literally translated to Future Diary. In this case, it is in the form of cellphone. Since it's the "diary of a future", losing the diary means it is a dead end for the owner of the cellphone as well. Yukiteru Amano is one of the owners. He is a quite school boy who spend his time writing short entry of what he observed into his cellphone and it became his diary of some sort. Since he has no friend, he created an imaginary friend of his own called Deus Ex Machina, the God of time and space. Little did he know that his fugly friend is actually a real god. So without his consent, he was chosen as the owner of a Mirai Nikki and have to play the Survival Game with 11 other players (one who is a major stalker of him, Yuno Gasai). Killed or be killed. Poor kid is scared out of his pantsu.

I have never watched anything from fully produced by asread before but I have got to say that, despite how fugly Deus is, they have done a good job with the series. Maybe it was the blood and gruesome murders but yeah, I'm digging it nonetheless. They have also successfully portrayed Yuno as bat shit insane girl that she actually is, even more so than in the manga which makes this show so much fun to watch. Character designs wise, asread has done an exceptional job.
I do not know most of the casts for the main characters though but fear not because they are obviously professionals so no worries there either. Mirai Nikki series has a good story based to begin with and I'm just glad that asread didn't screw this one up. For the first time I think the anime was better than the manga.

Time flies when you are having fun and before I knew it, there's Murumuru showing us how she recruited the Third. She's cute. There I said it!

There are 25 more episodes to go and I hope the gore and blood will not just be a tease. I'm a fan.
