Aku no Hana

It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.

A Year Older: Again

It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.

Goodbye 2012 and Hallo 2013

So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.

Light Writings: Love II

I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.

Light Writings: Crush II

Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.

First Impression: Sket Dance

At first, the only reason I was remotely interested with Sket Dance is because Keiichiro Kawaguchi is directing it, the same director that did Zettai Karen Children which I am a fan of. I still have my doubt though. Then I learned about the cast. The crossover makes a lot of sense all of a sudden.

http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=879083

They hire Tomokazu Sugita as one of the main seiyuu. That's decided it for me. I'm gonna watch this shit (If it wasn't for my outrageous working scheduled, I would have done the Sugita Quest like Glo does his Rie Quest. That's how big of a fan I am). Did you see how I choose my anime now? =3

Academy Activity Support Club or Sket-dan for short is just like Gintoki's Yorozuya. In fact Sket Dance is more or less Gintama in modern days. There are Himeko, Kagura double, Switch as Gintoki double and Bossun who supposedly to be the leader. They do odd stuff in that little club of theirs, solving mysteries and so on.

There are still few characters that haven't been introduced yet so that adds to the reason why I need to continue watching Sket Dance.

fappable character like this one

Though the jokes were a tad slapstick at time, they were able to make me chuckled. Mind you, it's not out right laugh out loud kind of thing. I have a feeling if this show is done by a much more experience production studio, it could turn out so much better. Or maybe I'm just being harsh towards Tatsunoko Productions for not hiring a strong capable writer than can do randomness like that of Gintama. I said this because it falls a little flat for me and it is kinda cliche.

The animation is nothing to boast about but I should give credits when it is due. They took it up a notch when it comes to the fighting and there are some slick moves going on. If only the effort is continuous throughout the episode. Then again it is all comes down to the budget. Having said that, the casts are pretty impressive and I am glad that they spend their money hiring the right people for the characters. Sugita is awesome as always.

Well, this show doesn't blew me away but for obvious reason I am going to keep watching this.

Lunatic Woman and Vernal Man? I have to check the dictionary and find out what vernal means before I realized that the subs screwed it up. It was supposed to be Electromagnetic Wave Woman and Adolescent Man. Orz...

(c) murayama kousuke

When I saw the first ten minutes of the episode, I was reminded by at least four different anime: Shinryaku! Ika Musume, Durarara, Yozakura Quartet and Kanon. Shinryaku because of the obvious relation to the sea at the beginning of the episode. Durarara because Makoto was just as excited as Mikado. Yozakura Quartet because Makoto kind looks like Akina and Kanon because Meme just reminded me of Minase Akiko.

I'm not sure whether this is a good sign or not but from what I can tell, I like where this show is going. The dialogue is witty and I appreciate clever jokes. Well it's not jokes per se more like Makoto's monologue as he accessing his surroundings including the people he met which include his aunt Meme who kind of an airhead but not really and the self-proclaimed Erio who could be his cousin or a crazy girl Meme picked up somewhere. The interesting thing about this episode for me is the fact that Meme pretends that Erio who is wrapped in a blanket, does not exists. It makes me doubt that she exists until Makoto points it out to her. She didn't treat Erio like a human being either which is worth noticing.

Makoto is like any male teenagers with raging hormones. He checks out the cute girls in his class, planning on spending wasting his pocket money, etc. I like the fact that his brain concludes that God is far just because even though Erio is beautiful she lacks in the mental department which mean he can treat her without bearing any special feeling (yet). It would kill the mood for me personally if he falls in love with her at first sight. That would be retarded.

Shaft is known for the quality arts and animation and they do not skimmed on this project. The director cleverly use different camera angles and perspectives to create an atmosphere for the audience. Some of the background scenes were really pretty as well. As for character designs, they definitely go all out with Erio because I have to admit that she's fucking fappable to. The other females are just as pretty. I sense harem in the making.

I am not sure about the whole "I'm alien thingy" plot though because I felt like it has been used too many times. If Shaft can bring in something different to the table then this show has the potential to be solid and entertaining. For the first episode, it was okay.

The World God Only Knows II: Episode 2

Episode 2 of The World God Only Knows II - and so Keima and Kasuga went on that cute date they were planning in the first episode. This reminds me of a Korean drama I am watching; My Friend is a Gumiho, where all the males were fawning at Miho when she's walking beside the nerdy Woong.

who are you trying to convince, Kasuga?

Since both of them have different taste so it seems like they weren't connected at all. Keima keeps getting punch in the face every time she felt embarrass and Keima being Keima just took the beating. That's as far as their connection goes. When Keima suggested they hold hands, Kasuga quickly rejected the idea although she seems really wants to. This is a good example of woman saying something else but mean something else. Ah, they are such complicated creatures. Instead of doing such things, she suggested that they should get connected on emotional level. Err... isn't that more bold than just holding hands?

no, they weren't watching porn

Anyway since Keima was too coward to protest, he suggested playing games that involved martial arts. Though Kasuga is good, she forgot that when it comes to games, no one can beat the hands of God, Keima. So that didn't go too well when Kasuga became competitive. Then they went to the movies to see Porkrasche. LOL watching Porkrasche is not something I would consider as a date. Besides, it was useless anyway since Kasuga got mad at the weak protagonist while Keima was busy playing games. After that they went to the theme park, window shopping and finally the playground.

they were watching Porkrasche *snorts*

Obviously their plan was not working but Kasuga refused to give up and was adamant to get rid of her feminine self. That's when she saw a dating couple sharing an ice-cream. Who knows that would be their biggest challenge yet and surprisingly the plan worked. Her other self got separated from her body and she challenged her for a duel. Since she's fighting with herself, there was no end to it until Keima interfered and became the punch bag (again). However he did manage to convince Kasuga to except her feminine self since it's not wrong to be strong and feminine at the same time. I don't understand how she can't think of it herself but I guess it's what the writer wants.

I'm not sure whether it's the mood, the background music or simply because I'm horny but when they were about to kiss, my heart went "thumping thumping" and I blushes like mad. LOL I'm such a fool sometimes. But yeah the problem solved with the usual kiss.

chuuu~ ♥

At the end of the episode, Haqua makes her appearance for the first time, trapping Elsie in the loose soul's bottle because she mistook her as a loose soul. Now I'm stoke for the next episode ^_^

X-Men: Episode 3

Cyclops told the rest of the X-Men that Emma Frost was the one who made Jean lost her mind back before she incinerated. Now, even Wolverine has turned into an emo slob as well. Oh god, Jean is dead! Fucking leave her behind and move the fuck on, you fuckin' woozies!

"Says the enemy", Cyclops snickered.

Emma Frost denied that she has anything to do with the fight involving Jean year ago. She claimed that she has already left the Inner-Circle by that time. Turns out she was hired by Hisako's parent in order to teach Hisako using her power properly and that was how she was captured as well.

It bothers me that they were chit-chatting in the enemy's lair without the slightest sense of being in danger. For example, obviously there are CCTV otherwise how the fuck did the U-Men watched their every moves but the X-Men were oblivious. That is until they were locked from the outside as the U-Men decided that it was a good opportunity to collect even more data.

It was another boring fight for me as the cyborgs weren't really a match for the X-Men. The fight lasted for less than a minute. Good thing is, Emma doesn't sugar-coating anything for Hisako. She's good at what she does. These kids need to know what they are up against so they could prepare themselves for the future.

Somebody is crazy...

In the mean time, Professor X was trying to reach the X-Men and failing so he used Cerebro. He saw the one kid that he couldn't read his mind and a woman. I am no sure who they are though.

The X-Men proceed and had finally caught on the enemy's plan so they took another route where they can't be monitored and suppressed. They went into the operation room where the doc was waiting for them. They were so easily captured, it was embarrassing to watch. Lucky for them though that Hisako decided to use her power (ability to create armor from her mind's energy) and single-handedly defeat the mad doctor. She might lose to the power in the process but Emma helped her gained control of it. This kinda explained that she was actually trying to save Jean not instigated her. But of course Cyclops won't believe her.

By the way they were so easy going, the enemy got away. One of them even came back to blast Hinako to smithereens. But they did manage to save the other mutant kids.

Wait a minute. This show is about X-Men, isn't it but why the fuck are they so useless?

Super Junior Super Show 3

This entry is TL;DR and is long overdue. It is created as some sort of a diary for myself.

I went to one of the most expensive concerts I have ever been to exactly one month ago. You might probably remember me talking about it. I arrived at Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil half and hour before 3pm which mean I have one and a half hour before the gate open. It was drizzling but that did not dampened my spirit. I was beyond stoked. The ELFs were busy giving out banners of their favorite SuJu members and some (like me) were busy getting the official merchandises. I bought few stuffs and some postcards for my sisters. I had to cap my budget otherwise I would have bought the whole damn set.

banners, towel, clear folder, light stick and postcards

Just like during buying the ticket, I made new friends with few ELFs that I met before we went into the stadium. I met a bunch of sisters with brought along their brother, two friends from KL, a couple from Singapore and a family from Indonesia. Some like Eunhyuk, some like Ryeowook but mostly they are either Donghae or Heechul's fans. Oh and also Kyuhyun. I looked for the three ELFs that helped me with the tix but didn't see them anywhere so I figured I'll met them in the stadium anyway since we were supposed to be seated together.

The gate only opened around 5pm. I went inside and took my seat. The stage was just like I imagined it to be thanks to the pictures of the previous SS3 I have seen before. We were entertained by two DJs before Super Junior took the central stage and the stadium was filled with girls squealing and screaming their lungs out. I sat in front of a bunch of girls who just love to scream and by the time the show ended, I think my hearing was impaired. They screamed for every single things, every single gestures from the boys. I do understand their fangasms but jeebus, it gave me headaches.

the stage

But that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the show because I fucking did. I still wet my pantsu every now and then whenever I remember that night. The three hours show made me learned a few things about the boys and changed my perspective on some of the members as well.

Before the show my rank for SuJu members is as follow (b0nar #1 as fucking massive and b0nar #13 as least favorite):

  1. Kyuhyun (his voice is just angelic-like)
  2. Leetuk
  3. Heechul
  4. Donghae
  5. Eunhyuk
  6. Yesung
  7. Kangin
  8. Hangeng
  9. Siwon
  10. Kibum
  11. Ryeowook
  12. Sungmin
  13. Shindong

After the show, the rank got an overhauled though Kyuhyun is still at the top of the list simply because I saw their personalities and charms up-close. For example, I have always saw Sungmin as someone who is girly but that night he was macho as hell. Heechul is still the lazy ass that he is and only came out a couple of time. Fans still love him though and they went crazy every time he appeared. God damn he's charming. Henry is cute as fuck. His solo was... gah so MOE and he made me a fan. Siwon is not just good looks, he has good manners as well. Ryeowook is well... Ryeowook but he is just better in person. I can understand why (I assumed) Donghae has the biggest fan based in Malaysia though. He's one of the members who constantly made an effort to entertain his fans. Eunhyuk is just so hardworking. He didn't take shortcuts. When he performed, he went all out. Leetuk and his "apa khabar" definitely made the fans go wild. He's not as cute as I thought he is but damn he's hardworking as well. Yesung was splendid and very playful. I didn't expect that from him. He pretty much stole my heart that night and as for Shindong... he needs to watch his weight for his health's sake.

Here is the new rank.

  1. Kyuhyun
  2. Yeesung
  3. Eunhyuk
  4. Heechul
  5. Leetuk
  6. Donghae
  7. Siwon
  8. Kangin
  9. Sungmin
  10. Ryeowook
  11. Hangeng
  12. Kibum
  13. Shindong
The most memorable performance for me personally, and quite possibly the best performance of the night was when Yesung sang his song. The whole stadium sang along with him and since it was a beautiful song and was sang beautifully by Yesung, I can feel everyone feeling it. It gave me goosebumps all over.

These guys performed a total of 35 songs and one of the many things that impressed me was the fact that their energy level did not decline at all. It was 100% from start to finish (except for Heechul but we all know how he is so all is forgiven XD). I just wish they learn to better their English though. It was frustrating to listen to them making their speech but only understand few words here and there. Credits to Siwon though for being the translator most of the time. The songs:

  1. Sorry Sorry Remix
  2. Super Girl Remix
  3. Don’t Don (Remix)
  4. No Other
  5. Self Introduction – World VTR intros
  6. Confession
  7. Good Person
  8. Rokkugo
  9. One Fine Spring Day – Ryeowook with Sungmin on Guitar
  10. New Endless Love – Kyuhyun
  11. I Wanna Love You – Eunhyuk & Donghae
  12. Kiss Goodbye – Leeteuk
  13. Looking for the Day – Siwon
  14. Baby – Henry
  15. If You Leave – Sungmin
  16. Down – Eunhyuk
  17. VTR 2
  18. Ttok Ttok Ttok – Super Junior T
  19. You & I
  20. MC-1
  21. Song for you
  22. Ms. Chic – Zhou Mi solo
  23. Shake It Up (Remix)
  24. Twins (Remix)
  25. Hate U, Love U
  26. In My Dream – KRY + Donghae + Sungmin
  27. Rinaldo (Kangin Tribute)
  28. VTR 4
  29. All My Heart
  30. It Has To Be You – Yesung
  31. Perfection – Super Junior M
  32. VTR 5
  33. BONAMANA
  34. A Man In Love
  35. U (Rock remix)
  36. Dancing Out
  37. Encore – Cooking Cooking
  38. A Way for Love
  39. Wonder Boy
  40. MC2 – Ending
Super Show 3 was fucking awesome. They were so captivating and funny. Heechul also mentioned about Super Show 4 but I doubt he and Leetuk will be around since they will go to the mandatory national service either at the end of the year or early next year for two years. They also announced that they are working on their 5th album. I can't fucking wait for that.

The only regret I have was the fact that I forgot to bring my camera charger thus I only managed to snap a few pictures before the camera went dead on me. Thanks to Nurul, I managed to get few more pictures from her.

Super Junior has converts me into a fan with raging hormones. I feel like a teenager, squealing at every sight of them on TV. I can see now how they have (quite possibly) the biggest fanbase in the world (E.L.F). Some of the members have been together for almost ten years now. I applaud their sense of loyalty (except for Hangeng maybe?) and to the fans who stay with them since their debut days. May they have more success in the future and may Super Junior friendship spirits last.

I love them to bits *squeals*. For more of my pictures, click here.

First Impression: [C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control

As far as I know, a lot of people (read: anime nerds) really look forward to this show. I know I am simply because this one is featured in the noitaminA time slot. That's how big noitaminA influences is on my preference. I mean, I completed Fractale, didn't I?

The start of the show is definitely attention grabbing. I was sitting at the edge of my sit for the first two minutes because I simply don't have a fucking clue what to expect. I purposely didn't read the synopsis or any spoilers so to be honest I was kind of lost at first before the plot slowly sinking in.

huh?

This is a show about money and have everything to do with money. Those with money triumph, those who are not... well either they get defeated and then jumped off in front of the train or simply be a loser for the rest of his mortgaged life. Players (usually those who in dire needs of money) are chose at random and is offered as an entrepreneur at "The Financial District". All they have to do in exchange is giving them their future (which pretty much spells out their life in fine prints if they bothered to read the contract that is). When they want to withdraw money, they have to travel to another dimension where somewhat magical creatures will be their weapon against their opponent. Win the game and you get the money. Otherwise your life is shortened.

It is just like the title suggested really. You exchange your future/life/soul for the money which mean you are letting go the ability to have control over the possibility of your future/life/soul (I am totally making this shit up). You're pretty much fucked up unless you are smart and win them back.

Kimimaro Yoga is the protagonist who is very diligent, working two jobs to get honest money. This also means, he is the right candidate to be the for the next entrepreneur. Masakaki could possibly be the most interesting character in this show. He reminded me of Johnny Depp because of his wacky personality. You can tell that he's cunning and will stab you in the back if given the chance. He managed to convince Kimimaro and thus that poor kid fall into the hands of the greedy.

the characters

Though the story is engaging, I still feel like it is lacking something. It is in the middle of the episode that I realized that I was expecting something that blow my mind away in term of it's art and animation. Maybe I am just too used of the idea that noitaminA anime will usually brings something different to the table. Err... actually it does. Kinda but not really. They still provide visual fest with vibrant colors (when in the Financial District), interesting camera angles and massive use of 3D effects. I was just being too picky because that isn't really my thing (the 3D). However at times, the characters look so fucking rigid it was as if they are saving on frames. Also the character designs are just too average. Maybe the production studio aimed to win the heart of the audiences through the story/plot instead of brilliant arts and animation.

Fortunately for them, it works or at least it managed to keep us on our toes and made us curious. Curiosity is good because that means we will tune in for the next episode. Having said that, I'm not entirely convinced yet.
