Aku no Hana

It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.

A Year Older: Again

It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.

Goodbye 2012 and Hallo 2013

So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.

Light Writings: Love II

I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.

Light Writings: Crush II

Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.

Diary of a tard: Week 2, May 2012

Monday, May 7

So because of Trazor's month of May project, I ended up rewatching Lovely Complex again since I chose this show as my first show for the project. It has been a while since I last sit and marathon a show. Let's recap. Episode 1 introduce the characters and their goals to find a girlfriend/boyfriend. Episode 2 they both bumped into their ex as well as childhood friends. Episode 3: It's the Valentine's Day. Risa made chocolate for Ootani but since Ootani is pissed off with Haruka he rejected it. Haruka took the chocolate and told Risa that he plans to make Risa his girlfriend soon. Episode 4: A 1st grader, Seiko, has a crush on Otani and acts upon it. She bloody kissed Ootani and asked him out. I am still pissed that Otani agreed just like that. Men! Episode 5: Risa is slowly coming to term with her feelings. This episode reveals that Seiko is actually a trap. LOL got me every single time.

The girls suggested that I read Not Equal, another yaoi manga that according to them involved incest and the hottest smex. I read this for the latter, obviously. This manga is about a son who has a crush on his dad. It just so happened that he got the chance to travel back in time and met his shouta father. You should know how the rest of the story goes from here. Conflict and dorama ensued. I wasn't that big of a fan on incest (unless they are twins) but whatever the smex is yummy.

he's licking his lips when he thought that and I thought fuck! he's fappable

Thursday, May 10

Completed Not Equal by scanning through the last 3 chapters in raw. Like I said, I read this for the smex and boy it came too late. The build up was too much for me as they tiptoeing around each other. I guess logically it should be like that. This involved morals as a human being and incest is always wrong in the eyes of the society which is probably why this manga is liked by many. To be honest I was quite disappointed with the smex. It was not exceptional. I've seen better and hotter smex in yaoi T_T

Thanks to my fellow yaoi fangirl, I end up with another incest yaoi titled is Aijin. It's about Akira basically, who whoring himself to save the shop and to help his step-brother out. The man he is whoring to is a the son of the company that is going to buy the shops around and build a mall. See the pattern? The smex wasn't even that good. I think I'll drop it now >_>

Yurumates 3D episode 5: It's Tanabata. So Yurume and the other wrote some wishes. Kumi wants every good sold at half prices while Sae wrote a fucking narrative that include the Martians invading earth. Matsuchiki is the only one who wishes for normal shit like be happy but everyone else thought that it was impossible lol. Well, the ended up hanging the wishes in Yurume's room and then having a drinking party. Naturally the room turned the chaos but still Matsuchiki defended his wishes to the very end.

Bleach: Chapter 491

After a week of absent, Bleach is back and pick up from where it left us 2 weeks ago. As usual, Kubo let the bad guy shows off his power first in attempt to amuse/wow us, the audience.

Urahara has already told Ichigo a thing or two about the power up that Opie is using now. It's something like the last card for the quincy to use. Once they use them, there's a possibility that they will lost their quincy power in return. But that was the old version of it. Opie further explained (as he kicks Ichigo's ass) that the power up he is using at the moment is totally different, a modern version with greater power and so on.

Ichigo being Ichigo, he still wants to underestimate Opie. His Getsuga Tenshou doesn't works on Opie instead Opie shows Ichigo what else that power up can do. He gathers more reiatsu from all around him (including Inoue's Santen-Kesshunn but before he even finished doing that, he was interrupted.

Guess who shows up?

The three Hallibel's bitches are back as that one fugly furry monster Ayon again >_>

They will no doubt be humiliated again by losing. Urgh that's all for this week? What a lot of bull crap!

Remembering Love: Opposite Attractions in Lovely Complex

I thought that it was an interesting idea when I read Trazor's idea for the month of May of which we blog 4 posts for anime that we remember with love. He called it Remembering Love or something like that. I missed the first week but he reminded me of it which ends up with me writing this post.

Lovely Complex was released in the Spring of 2007. It has been 5 years and it remains as my first ever and perhaps the only shoujo anime that I can truly accept, enjoyed and even fall in love with. Not just with the story but with everything that has to do with it: the seiyuu, the studios even the pop OP and ED. I remember memorizing the lyrics of both the songs and became an overnight fan of the group. It is safe to say that I was (and still am) a fangirl of this show.

Yes, you read that right. I am a fangirl of this SHOUJO show.

So you see... I can enjoy shoujo too if it's done right.

Anyway,  if there is a theme for this show, it gotta be the contrast between the female and male protagonists. Koizumi Risa is a giraffe who always yearns for a boyfriend while Ootani Atshushi is the midget who doesn't give a damn about a girlfriend. All he's focusing on is his performance in the basketball team.

They are both at each other's throat since the beginning of the show, both can't stand each other but they completed each other, without them noticing it of course. Sometimes fate like to play with you, I guess. I mean, being called All Hanshin-Kyojin must have not feel to good for the two kids and only further fuel the animosity between them.

But don't ever underestimate the power of opposite attractions. They both make a pact to help each other find the other a boyfriend/girlfriend. Ootani to help pair Risa with Suzuki while Risa will help Ootani develop a relationship with Chiharu and few other females that appeared afterwards. All of these side characters definitely suited the main protagonists like a glove but they will end up just as a another boring couple.

Everyone but themselves can see that they are made for each other. However it's the journey of them both to get to term with their own feelings what interest me the most. It's great to see how they compromise and at the same time compliment each other being so opposite of each other.

It's complex but not really if you can find a common ground. Also, it doesn't have to be a love at first sight in order to make it successful. It's more of how you treated the other person as well as the honesty and effort that you put in.

That's what this show has taught me at least.

All my ex(s) are totally the opposite of me. While I'm strong will with bitchy personality to match, they are pretty meek and quite the loving types. However my relationship didn't works because I don't want to compromise at all, and did not put any effort to make it successful. I know I should probably learn a thing or two from Risa and Ootani but I believe that if it didn't happen, it wasn't meant to be. And if indeed I think I have found my Ootani, I am sure things will go accordingly without me having to force it.

Sometimes, fate works in a strange way too.

First Impression: Upotte!!

In my preview for Spring, I already said that this show is going to be worse than trash however I ended up downloading the first couple of episodes. Since they are already in my hard drive, I thought that I might as well check them out and see whether my intuition is spot on.

urgh >_<
(c) pixiv id 10550
I have not a clue what Upotte!! means but given the synopsis, I doubt that I want to find out. It is basically about few girls at Seishou Academy which specialized in marksmanship. The new teacher, of which they kept a "mystery" by designing unnecessary and out-of-place shadow all over his face, didn't know this and this show is about his experience at the said school. Lame as fuck.

Upotte!! is supposed to be a comedy hence all the bad jokes. I can see them trying very hard to meet that expectation but it just don't work. It feels like they are shoving those humors down my throat and it makes me gag. I tasted bile, especially when FNC was about to cum just by looking at her male teacher firing a gun. Or the male teacher getting a bOnar looking at her thong.

"I'd fired so fast with that big hands gripping me..."

WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?

As for character designs, it makes me appreciate shows like Sakamichi no Apollon even more where the high school girls wear decent skirts and not some mini skirts to school. They makes the high school girls, or indeed female in general, looks cheap with all these mini skirts and revealing tops. I dislike that part of modern anime.

Well, I was right at how shitty this show is. I stopped watching 10 minutes in. DROPPED!

arts & animation 5/10
story 4/10
characters 5/10
sound 5/10
enjoyment 4/10
overall 4.6/10

Diary of a tard: Week 1, May 2012

Wednesday, May 2

The festival resumes in chapter 42 of Hyakko. New characters grace us with their present as they come to the school for the festival. The most important new character for this chapter is certainly Suzume's twin brother, Tsubame who is one mischievous boy. He became the tourist guide for the other new characters who are basically family members of the existing characters. They got distracted a lot by food and then come across Kitsune and Ayumi holding hand as they heading to somewhere. My heart literally jumps at this. Being a busybody, Tsubame and his new friends stalk them both. When they go their separate way, Tsubume doesn't waste any time to confront Kitsune and ask him what is going on. Kyaaaaah~ oh but wait a fucking minute. You know what? Hyakko pulled a fast one on us. Apparently Tsubame is dead. It was just Suzume playing dress up as her twin brother, thanks to Kitsune's suggestion when they were kids. Suzume apparently grows up with a dual identity. I'm not sure whether it's healthy or not but... if it's Kitsune's idea... (trololol). So this chapter pretty much focus on Suzume. We only get to see Torako at the end (apparently with Shishimaru by her side both dressed up in vampire theme outfit. wOOt~). Good chapter indeed.

I spotted Keima in between the pages LOL as well as that hat girl from Kujibiki Unbalance

Episode 2 of Sakamichi no Apollon: Nishimi lets Kawabuchi comments on his music gets to him so he secretly played on the piano whenever his aunt is out of the house. Obviously he wants to impress Ritsu and feels like Kawabuchi is in the way of that. He couldn't be so wrong. Anyhoo, he was cornered by a bunch of bullies on his way back from school one day. Lucky for him Ritsu saw what was happening and reported to Kawabuchi who of course rescued him. Nishimi tried to salvage his male ego but oh boy he was clumsy and only became the joke of the day. I lol'd and loved him because of it. When they went back to Ritsu's shop, Brother Jun was already waiting and they (Kawabuchi and Ritsu's dad) didn't waste time to do a live session. Nishimi was dragged to play the piano and boy he enjoyed it a lot, especially when he thought he could have a date with Ritsu. Unfortunately it didn't go according to plan as Kawabuchi tagged along. Instead of the library they went to the beach instead. I must admit. I sorta envy the relationship between Kawabuchi and Ritsu. I had that once but then he just have to get married at an early age. This is where the show confirms Nishimi's feeling for Ritsu and how Kawabuchi met the love of his life. My BL heart breaks a little...

if you know what I mean

Daily Lives of High School Boys episode 5: (1) we all have done this: making up script as we look at other people interacting. Fun times indeed (2) Motoharu is bullied by his older sister's friends. No one can save him. (3) I couldn't help but LOL'd when Ringo was saved by the "hero" from them three unlucky kids, who think that she was being harassed. Instead of worrying about their well being, they continue to pretend as the bad guy in order not to embarrassed the hero. How noble. (4) Yoshitake and Hidenori met an old friend with a girl who looked mighty displeased. Turned out she was his sister who has lost her contact lenses LOL (5) Hidenori reminiscing his childhood hero who saved him from the bullies. Imagine his face when he found out that it was Yoshitake. (6) The literature girl yet again appeared at the river bank and Hidenori was pretty much crying inwardly for help. Oh man, I lol'd pretty hard for this one. Sugita just fits perfectly and he really did make the scene comes alive.
