Aku no Hana

It has been a while I got this excited for an anime. In fact, I can't remember the last anime that got me all worked out like this. Needless to say, I think Aku no Hana is a very awesome anime. I definitely recommended it to everyone.

A Year Older: Again

It’s that day when I got another level up in life. I’m turning a year older again today. So many things have changed in a course of a year. I read what I wrote on my birthday last year and I almost choked with laughter at how ridiculous everything sounds.

Goodbye 2012 and Hallo 2013

So overall, year 2012 has indeed been kinder to me. I have achieved what I set out to achieve but most importantly, I unexpectedly found love which is easily the highlight of the year for me.

Light Writings: Love II

I need an outlet to express how I feel nowadays. To be honest, things are going too good for me at the moment to the point that I am sort of living in fear for I do not want these extremely good feelings, and the love I have for him to end. If all these are gone tomorrow, there is a big probability that I might lose sanity.

Light Writings: Crush II

Welp, looks like we are having this conversation again after so many years. Well 2 years and 3 months to be exact. The last time I wrote about my crush, I was in a different state of mind where I know it can be nothing more than just that, a crush.

First Impression: Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate

Another show that I am more than ready to dismiss. I hope it serves more than just kids eating food in the food club. That would be another K-ON and I think we all have enough K-ON at the moment. I decided to give this one a try because of the arts and the character designs of which I saw in the preview. Like I said, AIC Build better up their games for this one.

Unfortunately they don't. What I see in the preview does not translated to the animated show. There, I am already disappointed.

because in the anime, they censored it. Also because she's the only likeable character for me personally

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate is about a food club that is going to be disbanded soon since it's not productive at all. They just sit there and eat snacks while having yaoi jokes every so often.  So they decided to run for president of the student council and naturally Yuuki was selected to do the honor. The good thing about this show however, it not just that. It has mysteries to uncover. There are certainly villain in this one who ran over a student who is now pretty much brain dead. The said student gathered some evidence of some shit and obviously the villain doesn't want anyone to find out.

So yeah, wasn't bad for a story, except for them eating all those junk food in the club.

Like I said, I was pretty disappointed with how the arts and animation turned out. I was trolled. The character designs are pretty generic and to be honest, most of the characters annoyed the shit out of me, even Yuuki who is voiced by Yuuichi Nakamura. I wasn't sure whether I dislike them because of their personality, character designs or their voices.

Though I am not dropping this show, I wonder if I will ever sit down and watch it at all. Hmm... who knows. Maybe? Perhaps never?

First Impression: Natsuyuki Rendezvous

For some reason I totally forgot about noitaminA shows this season. I can't say that it doesn't has an impact since I did notice people talking about this show a lot on twitter. If I didn't check my preview before I write this first impression post, I would have not noticed that this was featured in the supposedly prestigious list of anime that are featured in noutaminA slot.

Natsuyuki Rendezvous is about this guy Hazuki Natsuyuki who has a crush on a lady who is the owner of a flower shop. That crush turns to love and when opportunity presented itself, he applied to work part time there. He then met the deceased husband Atsushi Shimao, who basically is a ghost, and totally has no respect for the dead even though he's trying to score with Rokka. This show is going to be about acceptance of fate, challenging oneself for the sake of love, and learning to let go when it's time to do so.

Just for the record, I am a fan of Atsushi Shimao. I see a lot of myself in him. At the same time, I am Hazuki who is crushing on his co-worker.

I have no complain about the art, animation, overall sound and other details. I freaking love the OP and ED. It managed to move me the first time I heard it and that's great. Quality anime is full of quality after all.

Watching Natsuyuki Rendezvous is like watching my life gets animated. It wasn't funny or fun at all.  I mean, Rokka and Natsuyuki even work together. That is just too much of a coincidence.

Given my condition at the moment, I have my own reason for delaying with the first impression. I am struggling with my own emotions and feelings towards my crush too so watching this just reminds me a lot about my repressed feelings towards him that it sort of hurts... and as I have feared, I was left with the feelings of bitterness at the end of the episode.

Which mean that this show truly deserved the noitaminA slot, if it can moves me like that. Having said that, I still hate having this feeling though. Just goes to show how fucking vulnerable I really am actually.

If only people bother to see through my facade.

Diary of a tard: Week 1, August 2012

Sunday, July 29

Watching episode 2 of Sword Art Online because I feel obliged to do so. Diabel, another beta tester, gathered the players in order to defeat the first floor boss. This is where Kirito met Asuna as they formed a guild together. During the fight, Diabel was killed but he handed over his responsibilities to Kirito who did perfectly, with the help from Asuna of course. They managed to defeat the first floor boss and proceed. Towards the end, there were some players who were unhappy that Kirito is a beta tester. In order not to let them be divided, Kirito played the bad guy role. He was given the nickname "beater" and so he will continue his journey alone, wearing the midnight cloak. I gotta say that the episode was intense and my heart grows fonder for Kirito.

So freaking moe

Yurumate 3Dei episode 11: Yurume had her first nightmare of the year. Then somehow they end up writing a Happy New Year calligraphy. It was fine until Kumi came along and convinced Matsukichi to write his secrets. As usual Matsukichi fell for it. That dude is hopeless...

First Impression: Muv-Luv Alternative - Total Eclipse

It was easy for me to dismiss this show and put it in the anishit list for my preview for the simple fact that I am not a fan of boobs or any of the genres. I have also seen figures being made for this show which often means that I made the right decision. My logic is fucked up sometimes but I'm fine with it. Problem?

Muv-Luv Alternative is pretty much about a bunch of girls driving a mecha to fight off alien invaders. They are still kids with barely any training but obviously one/two of them girls will be great and such. It is a pretty much standard mecha story all over again. Having said that, the pace was good and the setup wasn't all that bad at all.

I just don't understand the tight-suit part. Why the hell they have to create it to look like that? Did pervert invented them? That should explain all the unnecessary exposures. And why the hell am I ranting about this shit?

Anyhoo, I wasn't a fan of the character designs. It was typical and wasn't even that sharp. Maybe they literally took the 90's concept because it really does feels outdated. The sound, especially during the war, was pretty accurate though so credits for that. Too bad I don't really pay any attention to the seiyuu but overall I think they did good.

I stand corrected though. This show does not deserved a place in my anishit list at all. Unfortunately, like I said, I am not a fan of the genres and so, even though I somewhat enjoyed the first episode, I doubt that I will have time to sit through the rest of 23 episodes. I don't think I will enjoy it that much.

However I will watch several more episodes just because I want to see Daisuke Ono's character. Heh.

First Impression: Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita

My first impression of this show was when I read the synopsis for the preview. I thought that it borrowed most of the ideas from Smurf and since I was once a fan, I know I will be very critical at reviewing this first episode. Lets just hope it won't disappoint me too much.

Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita or Humanity has Declined in English, is about this girl who deals with fairies. This show took place where food are scarce for the human. She, her assistant and an old guy went to the fairies' place to investigate how the hell they produced food. Apparently it was all synthesized shit.

I was ready to drop it after 10 minutes in but conversation with Lord Jagganath in Twitter forced me to watch this episode till the end. And so I want to thank him for that.

The bleeding loaf changed my mind, and I have seen the other incoming mindfuck shit. I liked it.

THIS!

The art and animation, except for the character designs, are pretty solid in my opinion. Although the background are pretty much static, I like how they played with the color technique. It gave this 'drawing' feels to it. The characters could look more lively to match with the background though.

Was it just me or did anyone else thought that the fairies sound annoying as hell?

I was just about to list this show as the first anishit list of the season but changed my mind after I've seen the later half of the episode. Lesson learn today: don't be too quick to judge.

First Impression: Joshiraku

I am giving this show an opportunity to impress me since it was produced by J.C. Staff. I hope it won't be another K-ON and turned out it is rather similar though feels completely different.

Joshiraku is about 5 girls who sorta work at some stand up (though they just sit down) comedy joint. Though the showed them performing their jokes (that I didn't get), most of the comedy comes from the "normal conversation" that they had backstage. It was random of fuck which reminds me of Nichijou and somewhat Lucky Star as well.

I don't feel right blaming the production studio about when I failed to find (some of) the jokes funny. Maybe it has to do with culture etc in order for the jokes to make sense, hence funny. But yeah, I guess I was pretty much lost.

I like the fact that all five girls are wearing haori. It's not often that we see such things in anime nowadays. I appreciate their effort to keep their culture alive. Having said that, I thought that they can do more with the whole art and animation. More expression perhaps?

The OP wasn't half bad but I thought that the ED was super cute with them being chibi and all and singing somewhat rap song.

Unfortunately, I don't think I will be watching this anytime soon which mean this show will go to my waiting list that grows longer every time the new season arrived. It wasn't impressive enough.

Oh well, at least it is not another K-ON!
